I am gravitating toward the 180’s slowly and in stealth mode. Perhaps I can sneak up on it and it won’t notice! Down 3 lbs for the month of October but up 3.6 for the entire challenge so I must do better. Hoping to keep up the momentum since last month I was up 6.6 lbs for the challenge so I am having some improvement. Anyway, Have a safe evening my friends and lets try to remember that the candy belongs to our kids, grandkids and random trick-or-treaters. Not you or me. Yes, even the Reese‘s Peanut Butter Cups!

11/01-190.6-(Trend Weight: 192.1)- I was able to weigh in after all though this is typically a no-weigh Friday. There is no school today for my DGS so I was able to hop on the scale at around my normal time. I’m shocked to see the scale did not go up. My meals were good yesterday but then I got into my DGS’s Halloween bag and had two fistfuls of candy bar minis / m&m’s. I give away small bottles of Sunny D and Capri Sun drink pouches (no red dyes in either) so there was no candy temptation here UNTIL he came in with a bunch of candy that he’s smart enough to ration even at age 6. I could learn a lot! Anyway, God was Good and I was blessed with the exact same weight as yesterday and a trend weight that went down. Good luck to all, let's make it a good month!

Happy November, happy weekend!
Switching to Wednesday weigh-ins until January 1, 2025, when I plan to switch back to Sundays. It's seems I've been mainly maintaining lately, but I'd really like to get down to the mid-140's by the first day of of the new year. Here's how my progress looks right now:

Hi everyone, STARTING OVER through the end of this year! Posting my initial stats a day late. My weigh-in day is Wednesday until the end of this year and I will post my final challenge weight here on Wednedsay, January 1st, 2025. Can you believe it? Yesterday was only 8 weeks until January 1, 2025! Okay; so here's my first, "Do-Over" weight post:
11/06: 154.2, Lbs. Lost: 0.0; total challenge loss: 0.0 Renpho scale stats for Day 01:
Yeah, it thinks I'm 70 years old and I'm only 66, LOL! (I hope I can improve that!)
My initial measurements for 11/06 are:
B: 40", W: 37", H: 39", P (Potbelly!): 47.5! (It's sad when your belly sticks out more than your BUTT! )
Inches lost this week: 0.0", Total inches lost this challenge: 0.0"
I won't post stats again until the end of this challenge, 01/01/25, at which time I will post smaller, side-by-side screenshots of my Renpho scale app stats so I can show progress towards my goal. (I will update my key measurements weekly, however, plus weight loss for the week (if any) and total loss for the challenge so far.)
I am trying to lose at least 10 lbs. for this challenge, but if I can lose more, GREAT! My goal is to eventually get down to anywhere between 132-140 lbs. (I'm 5'3".)

11/07-192.2-(Trend Weight: 191.9)- I ate and drank my way through the nail biting election night. As you can see by my trend weight, I was doing pretty good until then. I even dipped my toes into the 180’s pool for a hot minute. Back on track and working on it.

11/07-192.2-(Trend Weight: 191.9)- I ate and drank my way through the nail biting election night. As you can see by my trend weight, I was doing pretty good until then. I even dipped my toes into the 180’s pool for a hot minute. Back on track and working on it.
11/14-192.0-(Trend Weight: 191.5)- I made much more progress going into this week but then started struggling mentally and physically too in the form of cravings. Example: Yesterday I started my day off with a youtube exercise video which I hadn’t done in a hot minute. My pre-logged meals went perfectly but I’m not gonna lie. I was pretty pis*ed off when I had to count out 5 crackers for my soup instead of just grabbing a large stack. I think when I grabbed six and had to put one back it really got to me. I wish I’d grabbed 4 instead and had been able to add one to make the 5 My whole evening probably would have went differently. After such excellent obedience during the day, I went crazy for snacks last night (again). Part sugar cravings and part rebellion. Next time I’m keeping the 6th cracker as it may save me 600 calories and 50 carbs later at night. Yea, I think I’m still in a funk. I feel like my diet is controlling me again instead of me controlling it. I feel restricted. I’ve got to get over this and realize that in order to lose weight and improve my health and diabetes I’m going to have to make sacrifices. I guess I’m just tired of “being bossed around” . Like I said, I’m in a weird funk but I’m working on my attitude. Hopefully it will improved SOON!

For all the boards in which I participate: I do hereby call a "Do-Over DO-OVER"! (Yay.)
That's right, beginning this Wednesday, November 20th, which is just SIX WEEKS from the New Year, I will post my new weight (which I'm sure will be UP, because I must confess that I've been overindulging). I will also post updated scale app stats and key measurements (bust, waist, hips and "paunch" - as in "potbelly"). I will refer to these measurements as "B", "W", "H" and "P".
I will post side-by-side before and after data on January 1st, 2025, the final day of this challenge, in order to show progress towards my goal of 140 lbs. or less. I will then start up a new challenge beginning on January 1, 2025 and continuing until the first day of SPRING, Thursday, March 20th. I will aim for a weight loss of one pound per week. That means I will need to reduce calorie consumption and increase calorie expenditure to a combined total of 500 calories per day, since 3,500 calories = 1 lb. I've decided to stick with Wednesdays for my weigh-in day. It's right in the middle between weekends, when we normally tend to go off our routines a bit; so it gives some time to "balance out" the week's calorie and activity levels.

I was hoping to break into the 250’s by the end of the year, but as busy as I have been/am going to be I think maintaining around 270 give or take is going to be more attainable. I’ve gotten as low as 265.4, but have immediately gone back up. I was away for All-State Show Choir for a few days 2 weeks ago, then hosted district honor choir this past week and I’m away from home this weekend for my parents 50th anniversary party. I might be able to get back on track this week, and next, but thanksgiving is in there so that will have a bit of an impact, but hopefully not too bad. The first week of December I have my winter concert so that will be another busy week. I might be able to be solidly in the 260’s by the end of the year, but whatever happens, I’m in a better place than was at the beginning of the year, I have my health under control, I have more energy, and more motivation. Those things mean way more to me than a number on a scale!

Hi @Bullieholiday, WOW. you're sure have been busy! Even with all that, you still have a total of 22 lbs. loss. You are definitely showing overall success, despite many challenges and a few setbacks. Looks like you've racked up a LOT of NSV's (non-scale victories) and have made significant progress so far. You've already proven to yourself that you can do this!
Thanksgiving is tough, but we can get through it with minimal "damage". I'm just planning to enjoy that one, special day and to allow that day for "bending the rules" - within reason. The key is, it's just one day. I'm not doing the cooking this year and the leftovers will be at my son's and his wife's home; so it will be easier for me to limit and overindulgence to one day.
I was hoping to be within sight of my goal by the end of this year; however, now it looks like I'll need to push that objective date to about Spring. That's okay - as long as I continue to make progress.
Since it's the holiday season and Wednesday is only 6 weeks until the new year, I will aim to lose an average of one pound per week until then. That seems to be a realistic goal.
I wish you all the best for your upcoming winter concert! I used to belong to a community chorus, but never got back into it after the pandemic. I truly enjoy singing and I'm hoping to get back into it someday.

Hi everyone, Here I go. It wasn't as bad as I thought (I only regained 0.6 lbs.), but here are my initial stats and key measurements for Day 1 of my 6-week, New Year Countdown:
B: 40"/W: 37"/H: 39"/P: 43"
I will update weight change weekly including week loss/total loss (since today) and will post side-by-side, before/after stats and measurements for January 1, 2025, when I get back to the office after New Year's Day. I'm hoping to average a pound loss per week (or more) so I can be in the 140's by 1/1/25!

Hi everyone,
I did my own turkey breast for home, but I celebrated my family Thanksgiving yesterday at my son's and his wife's place with Middle Eastern food. It was great! (We also went for a 5-mile walk before dinner.) It was a wonderful day!
Now it's time to atone for the feasting and get back on track!
@Bullieholiday, hang in there! It's a really challenging time for all of us right now, but even maintaining at this stressful time is a meaningful accomplishment. @deepwoodslady, likewise for you! This is the toughest time of the year for most of us, but if we try to maintain focus on our goals we can manage!

11/30-193.0-(Trend Weight: 191.7)- I’m very surprised by this jump. I thought yesterday went very well. Thanksgiving Feast today with all of the family. I got the last of the drywall dust mess that covered EVERYTHING on 3 floors of this house completely done by 11:00 last night. I ate well and burned a ton of calories so I’m confused. I gained 3.8 lbs this week. For the entire month of November I’ve gained 2.4 lbs. A horrible week and Not a good month! Oh, and here comes December!

Sharing a healthy, pumpkin custard recipe I found on the internet: I used sucralose drops (to taste) for sweetener, maple extract instead of vanilla extract, Planet Oak unsweetened vanilla oat milk and I also ended up baking it about 10 or 15 minutes longer until it seemed done to me. (I sprayed the ramekins with avocado oil before filling to prevent sticking.) It came out great!Yeah, they spelled "pumpkin" wrong. (I took screenshots because they wanted me to download something before I could save it and I didn't want to do that.) I halved the recipe and made two, generous servings, both of which I plan to enjoy today! (I'm going to make it again for tomorrow, but I'll probably use less oat milk next time.) The recipe said to chill these, but I enjoyed my first serving while it was still warm. I'm going to chill the second serving for later and compare.

The real threat now is the leftovers. I sent as much as I could away with the kids but there is always more. Travel coming up this week (Tuesday) so that is not going to help the cause. The roughest month of the year has begun!

The schools are closed today due to winter storm warning so my grandson is here early and the weekend has begun. Clearly I have to be on my toes all weekend as I can’t afford to cave into the normal weekend temptations often offered by my Foodie daughter. Our Thanksgiving dinner was Saturday evening. Leftovers are gone now and it’s time to get to work. I must remember that I can do all things through God who strengthens me. Here We go!!!

The holiday season is one of the toughest times of year for all of us to keep our intake within set limits. For myself, I think I need to revise my goal for December. This morning I weighed the same as yesterday - 154.6. At this rate I don't think I will meet my goal of 148 or less by the new year. With less than four weeks to go, I will be happy if I get down to 150-152 by then! Oh, well. I will try to step up my indoor activity over the next few weeks to see if I can adjust the energy in/vs. energy out enough to lose another 4-5 lbs. by January 1st.

I will try to step up my indoor activity over the next few weeks to see if I can adjust the energy in/vs. energy out enough to lose another 4-5 lbs. by January 1st.

@Walela617 Thanks for your kind comments. I am really trying to give myself some grace but Wow, this morning's weight was a huge shock. Naturally I am hoping some of it is fluid retention and general bloat but I really don't think the foods I ate the past 48 hours were excessively sodium filled so I just dunno. Last Saturday during Thanksgiving dinner DID have a lot of starch/carb/sodium but that was 4 days ago so again, I dunno. Anyway, I do appreciate your support and your reminder to me that this is a tough time for all of us and I am not exactly alone. There is strength in numbers, right? Let's tackle this my friend!0
