    Hello,

    Just want to write a message here to say I will be going on a road trip for about 1 week, I will not have access to a weighing scale. My trip is Saturday August 24th - Saturday August 31st. Will start my weighing date on September 7th Saturday.

    08/15-190.8-(Trend Weight: 190.3)- It’s been a bad week filled with too much travel and not enough movement/exercise or diet control. So much sodium filled restaurant food and too many snacks along the way. I’ve got to get my head back into the game! I always hope to lose 1 lb per week and instead I gained 2! I can do better!

    08/22-189.8-(Trend Weight: 190.5)- I was doing a bit better earlier in the week but the travel always bites me in the butt. Restaurant food and lots of sitting during the driving trips. It’s a way of life for me as I live in a very rural area. The good news is that all my medical tests and appointments came out with very nice results this time. So, at least my diabetic feet are okay for now, even though symptoms persist. It’s key that I keep my glucose numbers down for overall health and less issues related to Type 2 diabetes. Incentive! Have a great weekend everyone!

    It’s been a busy couple of weeks but I’m back! I think I’m going to switch to Friday updates because I am more likely to have time to do it. 😂

    Good: I finally broke through my plateau! I’ve been holding right around 280 give or take for about three weeks and yesterday finally had a significant dip on the scale. Even with being on the plateau, I was 10 pounds down at my doctors visit (First thing in the morning weigh in was closer to 14 pounds down). i’ve managed to bring lunch consistently for the last two weeks, I’ve decided not to beat myself up over Starbucks and dining out for dinner a couple times a week. Starbucks for breakfast really isn’t that bad since I get egg bites and iced coffee with coconut milk. I thought it was very calorie loaded for a couple weeks because I was logging 2 Venti iced coffees instead of one! I’ve been making thoughtful choices for the most part when I have gone out for dinner. I’ve had musical rehearsals after school, meet the teacher night, and weekend choreography rehearsal for my show choir over the last two weeks, so I haven’t had as much time to food prep. I’m just glad that I’m doing as well as I am given my hectic schedule!

    Not so good: had my follow up visit with my doctor, got the diabetes diagnosis 😕 oh well! It’s definitely more incentive to stay on track! Blood pressure was fine though so I’m glad I don’t have to worry about that too. Some hormone imbalance things, but we’re gonna see how things go with keeping the diabetes in check and see if it resolves itself. I have had fast food for two meals, one of those after getting my glucose monitor and holy blood sugar spike Batman! Definitely need to stay away from that stuff! Unfortunately, I had to miss Derby two weeks ago due to lesson planning that needed to get done and Derby day was the only day I had available to do it so I didn’t meet my activity goal that week.

    Goals for this week: continue bringing lunch every day. More meal prep so there’s no more than two Starbucks and one dinner out this week. Fix my bike this weekend so I can have an additional option for activity since there’s no Roller Derby this weekend. No blood sugar spikes beyond normal range.

    To Bullieholiday, Congratulations on busting through your plateau! That's a great feeling! About the diabetes, you can reverse it. My brother gave up soda and started daily walking over one summer and was able to get off his meds! My sister's daughter-in-law changed her eating habits and worked with a personal trainer for several months. Her latest A1C was 5.0! You can do this! 💞🌻🫶

    @Walela617 thanks for the words of encouragement! I think the changes I’ve made since that first appointment last month have already helped already, I’ve stayed in range except for that one big spike after my fast food indulgence and a small short lived spike when I had a Clif bar after roller derby practice. When my blood work was done my fasting blood glucose was 175! I hate to think what my daily average must have been given how much fast food I had been eating. My meds should be ready Wednesday so we’ll see how that goes!

    Happy Labor Day weekend! I’m sitting in an airport in Atlanta desperately trying to make decent food choices! I am without a scale for a few days, so I’m posting yesterday’s weight.

    Good this week: Met my goal of bringing my lunch every day and only 2 Starbucks visits! I’m on vacation now so if I go today it doesn’t count! 🤣 I also made dinner every night, but one was basically ready to eat. I got buffalo chicken tenders and a salad at the grocery store, not great but certainly could have been worse! I also got in a day of activity because it turns out we had derby last weekend, it’s canceled this weekend. Scale still trending down

    Not so good: didn’t get my bike fixed, but that’s because I ended up having derby so it’s ok. Maybe in a couple more weeks… or maybe I’ll just take it to the bike shop and have them do it. Went to pick up my diabetes meds, insurance needs a pre-authorization… all this after already waiting a week and a half!? WTF!? I’m supposed to have a follow up on the 9th, but I will have been on meds for less than a week so not sure if she’ll get the info she wants. Discovered a trigger for storm eating, frustration/anger can lead to storm eating. My pharmacy is at the grocery store so when I couldn’t get my meds I just wanted to eat all the bad things! Luckily I was able to identify the trigger and got the buffalo chicken tenders to appease it. So now if I have a craving I need to decide if it’s actually a craving or is it an emotional trigger…?

    Goals for this week: enjoy my beach trip this weekend, but don’t over indulge; watch the carbs and added sugar. I probably won’t be able to bring lunch to work every day due to lack of time for food prep this weekend. If I have to buy lunch get salad and go or go to Safeway. Maintain current weight (accounting for possible gain this weekend.)

    Hi everyone,

    I've had some trouble "getting my bearings"; so I've decided on one, FINAL "do over" from tomorrow until at least the first day of 2025 to reach my initial goal weight of 140 lbs. or less.

    I can hardly believe that tomorrow is SEPTEMBER! It's also a Sunday. I think Sunday weigh-in days work better for me; so tomorrow morning will be my new DAY ONE!

    I will try to be consistent in weighing in every Sunday and reporting before the end of the day.

    I will post stats and progress as well.

    Happy September 1st! This is the very first day of my brand-new "DO-OVER"! I plan to achieve my initial goal weight of 140 lbs. or less (within "normal" BMI range for my height of 5'3") by New Year's Day, 01/01/2025.     My name is Donna. I am 64 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall.
    I will be weighing on the 1st and last day of each month as well as weekly on Tuesdays.

My calendar of travel and appointments for myself and son is pretty full for September so, I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty worried about the month coming up.     08/31- I didn’t weigh as I was traveling. I will use my last known weight on the 29th as my ending weight this month and my starting weight next month.
