Lisa - I sure hope the one week steroid pack does the trick. Sounds promising so far and that sleep has to be helping you. I've had steroid packs twice in my life, both times to treat a herniated disc. They did the trick and the bulge retracted a bit and took pressure off the nerve.
Pip- glad you are getting everything checked out. I've also worn the Holter Monitor a couple times due to arrythmias. They determined nothing out of the ordinary. That and migraines have gotten a lot better since menopause.
Debbie - hope when you get to your mom's next weekend, the roomer is packed up and ready to leave if she hasn't already. Great idea pulling the futon out of storage to put in the empty room.
I've decided after having Rusty around yesterday, I don't need a retired fella in my life. Adopting someone like Rusty, 45, would be more than adequate. I know his dad - I need to give him a call and see if we can work something out.
I climbed on the noisy mower before lunch and it ran just fine, noise and all. Crossing fingers it continues running throughout the summer.

Pip- Ive had to wear a holter monitor a couple times no biggie. Nothing like wearing that flippin defibrillator for 3 months post heart surgery..
Love the nighttime soundd of summer with the crickets outside.
Going to try and get some sleep ,wish me luck.4 -
Machka-the stretching is helping me. Right now they want me doing them daily if possible-everything is extremely tight. Going to schedule a massage a bit earlier than normal too.
I stretch my calves in some way just about every day.
The hopping, I do occasionally, although my running coach suggested a couple times a week.Medications-I am in the conservative camp with them but many do serve a good purpose. Limited steroids have helped me with several issues over the years-but they have always been a short course and I have used therapy to help fix the issue. I am working to keep daily needed meds down. So when a new doctor's office said my ldl was 101 and they could put me on statins for it, I told them I would work on diet between now and next test. Don't think 1 point over requires medicine!
Slept well again last night. Still a bit tired (uti) but went for a 3 mile walk this am. It was lovely, but led to an hour nap! Now I need to get moving to get stuff straightened up and laundry done, check book balanced, bills paid and grandkids bday presents ordered.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio
My BP, cholesterol and blood sugar are borderline high, but thankfully my doctors have told me that they are reluctant to prescribe medications at this point. They prefer to suggest diet and exercise.
However, for both my depression and my hot flashes, I'm on an antidepressant. That's the only regular medication I'm on, and it has been kind of funny when I've had to list my medications for a surgery or something and I've stated the one, and then I've been asked what else I'm on ... and the nurse expresses surprise that I'm only on one!

Today’s gratitude: Tumble’s limp is no worse. 1/3 aspirin every 30 hrs or so seems to help. Next available appointment with vet is Sept 16. Calling every morning to see if any cancellations, but since neither life-threatening nor in extreme pain we get triaged out.
Heather sorry the Xray session was so painful. Hope that’s that. Walking with crutches and getting to the loo Hooray!
Carol yours to pip, amen, sister!
Ginny I didn’t get your pm but here's the link.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3265100/
This table is what sold me, even though the sample is very small.
Pip thankful your Dr wants to see and monitor you. ((hugs))
Thanks to dog group got over 9K steps in, hooray. Ready to snooze…
Later, lighter, lovelies!

I had a v good night. Amazing!
Just eaten breakfast. Porridge, scrambled eggs and fruit salad. Delicious!
I got to the loo by myself this morning and managed to have a wash and apply unguents to my face. Teeth clean.
Feel almost normal! Getting out of the bed is the most difficult thing, but it's not really hurting at rest any more. I can feel it, but I'm not in pain unless I move.
So I just have physio this morning, with stair climbing, and then it's the rather tedious discharge procedure. Hope to be out lunchtime-ish. Or soon after.
Feeling very grateful.

Cleaned the main level of the previous house. Yes, an end-of-lease cleaner is coming in (and someone to do the windows outside, and someone to steam clean the carpets) but I had to give the place a basic clean. So I vacuumed the whole place, vacuumed curtains, cleaned the cupboards and counter top, cleaned the cupboard under the sink, cleaned the laundry room, washed a few walls, and scrubbed floors. I cleaned the bathroom last weekend, so I gave it a quick spritz.
I'll let the housecleaner handle the rest.

Good morning beautiful ladies!
I'm with Lisa on medication. Eacj one has to be evaluated separately for benefits and drawbacks. And that includes the "Natural" approach. Poison ivy is entirely natural but quite dangerous. And brushing your teeth is entirely unnatural but quite beneficial.
I have to put gas in my Dad's car today. I'm a little nervous because the gas light came on. If I don't make it to the gas station, my day will fall apart. But I probably will make it. I'm just scaring myself.
Allie your cruise sounds wonderful!
Heather and Carol, thinking about your recoveries.
Have a great day ladies! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Home, coffeed, fed, and napped. I didn't try the hospital coffee, because I am so fussy about it, but I did drink a lot of English Breakfast tea. It was lovely to get back to our favourite coffee.
I want to be running about, but I have to be patient! John is wonderful at looking after me. He is cooking Moussaka for tonight.
He did some laundry today.
It's Mcdonald and Dobbs on the TV tonight.
Apart from the hip pain, all is good.
Thinking about my poor bruv.

Morning all! I am happy to hear that our sick, injured, repaired friends are getting the help they need and on the road to recovery! Yea!
I saw Deadpool and Wolverine last night with my DYS. Not everyone's cup of tea; but I laughed so hard through this entire movie (like I have with the other Deadpool movies). DH can't stomach the blood, extensive swearing, and the huge amount of sexual innuendo in Deadpool movies, so he didn't go with us. BTW, these are all things that I don't enjoy in a normal film format; but when you add the superhero theme and the humor and soundtrack, it all just is absurdly funny. We didn't get home until 11:00. Late for me, so to bed I went. Woke up at 7am with a screaming headache from being off schedule. The price you pay to play, I guess. Had some coffee, soup, water, and Tylenol for breakfast. Feeling better now, so time to get busy. Today I will be painting my shed, clearing the outdoor back stairwell (that goes to my basement) of leaves and probably frogs and mousies, I also need to trim the trees in the southeast corner of the yard. The branches hang too low and I worry about the kids getting ticks when they play back there. (I know ticks don't live in trees; but I do get deer and fox traffic daily in that area.)
Rebecca- I forgot to mention that I loved your pics. You look beautiful!
Anyway, love and hugs to all of you wonderful ladies! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! Ttfn. Xoxoxo. KJ(Kelly)5 -
Annie, darlin' - If it helps, most cars have 30 to 50 miles left when the low fuel light comes on, or two to three gallons of gas. You'll be fine to get to a gas station, I'm sure.
Heather - So pleased you're home! It's where the healing goes fastest, and doing both hips this close together means everything's all set up and ready to go. Couldn't be happier for you and for John.
Allie - Always fun to see pics of Miles. Sorry you don't feel well, dear.
Rebecca - Speaking of which, loved the pictures of your grands, and the one of Athena in a hair towel is just amazing.
I'm back in the house, cooling down, got way sweaty and a teensy bit shaky, haven't eaten yet, and I need to, I guess. I will as soon as I'm cooled down and rehydrated. Finished trimming out the pantry shelf (the thing is eight feet tall) and started caulking it out, and had to take a break. Still, a couple hours isn't bad, and quite a bit of that was up on a three-foot step stool, holding an airgun in one hand and a hammer in the other! Should be able to get out and finish the caulking, at any rate. Corey will be using the spray painter to paint the walls under the carport, so he will be able to spray paint the shelf at the same time. It's why we decided to build it at the same time as he was re-cladding the carport walls--save time and resources.
Corey's just up and moving around - he takes longer on his days off, bless him... and he had to get up out of bed and get his own coffee, so he's had a few cups less than he needs to get his motor running.
Time to go make some breakfast!
Later, y'all,
Love,

Lisa you were right of course. I don't know why my Dad's car turns me into such an anxious ninny. But now it has gas and it's been run so it's good for the next week. I decided not to worry (lol) about selling it to my nephew until I actually hear from him. Although I am thinking about finding a time slot next month to have a mechanic go over it. But getting Teddy to the vet comes first.

Good Sunday!
Left kittens alone to come to farmhouse They are fine....I am missing my purr moments. DH laughs as I sit down, kitties crawl in my lap, and we all take naps! Not very productive evenings, but getting some extra sleep-lol!
Carol, Pip, and Heather- lots of healing thoughts ! The great thing is you are all in great shape prior to these set backs. That does help with recovery. Don't over do though!
I am thankful for all of you. I learn so much from each of you about health, exercise, habits, relaxing, learning, and life in general. The knowledge, courage, and perseverance you all share is wonderful.
Machka- I am excited for your move. It will be great to finally get settled into your new home.
Ginny- Happy to hear the cancer is stable! I understand about getting things done even if they aren't what is planned.
Lanette- Have you checked your oil level in mower?
Speaking of work....we, like every other repair shop need a mechanic. DH told R to go to doctor on Wednesday if he was too sick to accomplish anything at work, so R left. Heard nothing from him rest of day Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Had no clue if he was dead, in hospital, or had quit. He finally texted me last night and said he had been in hospital and will be back Monday. Seriously?!? Who doesn't notify employer if not going to be at work? This isn't a teenager, he is 61 y/o! He has missed almost 4 weeks of work this year. I guess it is a good thing he is hourly. He is always broke though. I don't understand! Hoping he comes back ready to work- we are 3-4 weeks out on repairs. SMH
Went a watched A play baseball yesterday before coming to farm. Was nice to see them. Closing on house sale to youngest daughter and SIL tomorrow night. They will officially be homeowners and out of debt to us!
Breakfast done. Dishes cleaned. Not sure what is next....kittens are sleeping (cameras).
Feel better thoughts!
Loving the photos!
Lots of love,
