July 6 197!!! been so busy with work and have had guests 2 weekends in a row and now for a week. Hoping that I will walk and be more active than I was with out other guests. Also fourth if July yummies and have been drinking soda which always makes me bloated.
July 15 198. Been tough with friends visiting and being off work for 10 days. Iβm super bloated from pms so Iβm going to be drinking tons of water to help. Goal is getting 10k every day for the rest of the month.
July 18 197 migraine today so took meds. They always make me retain water so hopefully it doesnβt last long
July 19 196.5. Yeah! My migraine went away at about 2ish so I was able to go to Zumba last night.
July 25 196 slow going but Iβm proud of myself in making sure Iβm getting my steps, not chowing on candy all day (basket of it on my desk for employees), and didnβt get popcorn or soda last night at the movies.

Up early for me this morning β school holidays and am on grandparent duties. Weights was really tiring yesterday. Have booked for Saturday morning class so need to limit wine tonight. Probably for the best considering just how much my scales hate wine!

Look at all of you kicking butt here! Super excited for everyone's progress. I've been really busy the past two days, and just looking forward to sleep more than anything for the weekend. But I've still be getting my 2 miles in every day on the treadmill.
For those of us that are fighting a few challenges here: You *could* say F it, and just go back to previous habits -- but we know those habits weren't working, right? So even if you're still waiting for the next weight drop on the scale, or some other indicator: If you're doing the work, it's going to happen; it's just going to take more time. Try not to get discouraged (and trust me, I get it -- I've lost and gained these current pounds a few times now). Try to see the benefits that are showing up -- maybe moving a little easier, or more energy during the day, or your clothes are just a little looser. If this was easy, none of us would be here.

Up early again for gym, dragged out of sleep by my alarm. Two glasses of wine yesterday to three glasses of water so that ratio seems acceptable to my scales. I will put it to the test again tonight!
@kellyswimmer - good to hear your dog is doing better, so difficult when they can't tell you what's wrong with them.

Iβm thinking of lowering the calorie limit a bit next month to see if I can up the progress. Iβm 5β5 and somewhat active and thinking of doing 1200. So far Iβm adhering to 1300 without issue. Itβs all an experiment right? If anyone has feedback Iβm open to it.

My weight will go up tomorrow because we are being bad today. But I think I've got a plan going forward. I have started having high protein (meat/egg) for breakfast, but a little later breakfast. The test drive of this plan has been successful. I don't need/want food until around 3pm ET, and if I do some kind of protein shake around then, I can easily do my afternoon workout and not go near snacks -- just my meals. I do still need to curb the want for dessert at night after dinner, but this is a huge shift for me.

I am going to assume that you are eating a balanced diet of protein, fats and carbs in the calorie ratio of 30:30:40.
Summary of Macronutrient Breakdown for 1200 Calories
Protein: 30% of 1200 calories = 360 calories, which is 90 grams
Fat: 30% of 1200 calories = 360 calories, which is 40 grams
Carbohydrates: 40% of 1200 calories = 480 calories, which is 120 grams
Based off the above, it doesn't seem likely that you are not losing weight. Your daily maintenance should be about 1800 calories. So if you are accurately tracking and it turns out to 1200, you are in a deficit of 600 calories a day. Over a 30 days period, that should add up to 18,000 calories, That should lose you 5 pounds.
I am not suggesting that you're not sticking to it, but I personally find that I have the problem of underestimating how much I am exactly eating. I suspect you might have the same problem. The only accurate way of tracking calories is to use a food scale. It helps to make sure you are on point for calorie counting. I am not advocating calorie counting but since you are stating it, I assume you are and I am thinking I can help.
An example of how easy it is to miscalculate, let's say you think you are eating a 180g steak, which gives you about 480 calories. When in actual fact it's sliced thicker and is at 250g. It's hard to tell visually, and the 70g difference is like 2 more mouthful. But 250g is at 680 calories. Which is another 200 calories.
I also have a problem with cashews. I had always thought that a handful of cashews are like 20 grams and I have been consuming that, thinking that it's like 100 calories and recorded as such. Only when I used a food scale did I realise I was consuming like 45 grams (large hands, greedy me and cashews were big and roasted). And based off the label on the pack, I realised I was consuming 250 calories.
Then say you have 3 glasses of wine (5 fl oz) and that's about 120 calories per glass for a total of 360 calories. You might over pour and end up with a slightly fuller glass, say 7 fl oz. That difference over 3 glasses will work out to another 150 calories.
So 200 calories there, 150 calories here and then 150 more in the liquids, I was up 500 calories from what I thought I was consuming. I was recording everything I ate and drank. But each estimation can go very wrong. Food scale is important. It's the only way.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and learnings on this @Enber74
I am managing macros, especially the protein, and am using a food scale or otherwise trying to eat things that come in discreet increments (e.g. a can of tuna). I also take photos of servings of things on my scale so that when I have to eyeball something I have a reference. But I am also DEFINITELY underestimating calories, everyone does. Especially when there is restaurant food involved (the butter!!). So at the best of times calorie counting is not an exact science. And then you have to factor in different health conditions that affect weight loss especially for women, that adds to the inaccuracy of it all.
My thought process in lowering calorie target by 100 is that Iβm trying to find that 500 calorie deficit window that kicks the weight loss into a bit of a faster gear. Such that even if my calorie counting is only accurate within a range, lowering that range should make a difference.1 -

@CandieMarie, I agree that the relative drop is going to be useful, even if the absolute values are going to be a bit off. Go for it!
I have been agressively losing the last couple of days because I know I am going to put back some of it over the next few days. I have several trips coming up over the next few weeks and it's going to be harder to keep a gym routine and also not willing to miss out on some of the foods that I don't normally see at home.
Day to day basis, it's demoralising to see fluctuations. Week to week and month to month, it feels a bit more reassuring when it follows a more stable downward trend.1 -

Had the grandkids for a sleepover Saturday finally handing them back late Sunday. Donβt remember my own kids being quite so exhausting. Late night snacking is creeping back in and I need to stop it.

08 July 24 = 12.00 need to see a lower number this week. On holiday for a week this month too

18 July 24 = still on holiday so no weighing. trying not to think the scales will say
22/07/2024 = 11.13 nightmare of a holiday, dog been ill the whole time. Backwards and forwards to various vets. Bloods and scan at local vet on Sat, he has kidney problems
26/07/2024 = 11.11 not really been eating due to ill dog but he does seem to be better today
28/07/2024 = 11.13 any loss this week would be good.
