As someone who has a lot of trouble consistently losing weight, these results in October are really surprising. Itβs usually an uphill battle to lose 2 lbs over an entire month.
@dannytrees1 and @HappyDonkey75 we will keep each other motivated on here and hopefully weβre still motivating others even if theyβre not posting. You two are nailing it so far this month! Keep it up!

Well I keep creeping back up .. Yesterday was no workout as I was feeling very body sore from Sunday's workout and had a horrible headache most of the day. Will get something accomplished today in the gym.

Walked 4 miles Sunday, Monday and today along with a Barre class at the gym this am. I am motivated to stay within my calorie and macro goals and eat fresh foods. Letβs make our October goals a reality!

Iβm still not getting a lot of movement in which I really miss. Life has been so busy. Iβm managing to lose without it but for overall health especially mental health itβs so important! Hoping I can get back to biking tomorrow at least for commuting

Well atleast I am sort of maintaining??. I know these sort of plateau's are part of the process but no less frustrating to feel stuck . I am drinking enough fluids and getting my protein and fiber.. so hard to say. If anyone has any nuggets of wisdom, I am listening.
My knee is really agitated again from overdoing it on Sunday HIT workout (too many squat jumps maybe?) so cardio has been less.
I will probably hit the stationary bike today which shouldn't bug my knee too much and try to get a good walk in after work. Going to be another beautiful fall day here

Oct 194 This month there is a lot going on. This weekend is my hubbyβs birthday weekend and we will be in Orlando for 3 days. Then later on I have a week long cruise. So Iβd love to lose but the real goal is to not gain anything.

Hi everyone, happy Friday!
I did drop off the radar for a bit. I've had cycle/physical things going on, and just got more and more dejected as the scale kept going up. I've stopped daily weighing. I needed a mental reset.
Consistent exercise is the current action plan. I've been on the treadmill before dinner, and have added in the stationary bike afterward for 20 min when my knee is playing nicely. I've also been doing a light weights routine, after watching videos on proper form so I don't tweak anything. Just heavy handweights for now. Tomorrow I'll get a read on my weight and go from there.
I'm so happy to see everyone's progress. I've been cheering you on from the sidelines.
I don't know how many in this group are southeast US based. I hope the past couple of weeks of hurricanes have spared your household any lasting effects. We've watched it unfold from the DC area, and can't begin to fathom how folks pick up after events like these.

Yikes, scale momentarily hit 180 and then dropped back to this number. If it hits 180 tomorrow I might just cry , or maybe throw something.. Grrrr.
@dannytrees1 @canadamarie @Michieb125- looks like we are all dealing with the similar fight right now ! It is part of the game and slightly addictive.. some say weighing daily is too much but I find while its a little annoying, its also helpful to keep my eye on the target.

I was getting a little stale on my workouts and happened upon an ad for an app called Caliber for strength training workouts. I really like it so far. Hoping it gets me over a bit of a hump on my strength training routine. It also has the option to work with a coach remotely which is an added fee but still less expensive (and way less of a hassle in my opinion) than trying to find a coach/trainer at a local gym. I have met with a few of them in the past and I just can't find one that I like well enough to stay interested. (or feel like I am getting taken for a ride financially)
Most I have talked to are about 20 something and have no idea what the old worn out injury prone person needs when I start asking them questions. I also follow Dr Stacey Simms and Maverick Willett on You tube.2 -

this scale business is almost getting laughable.But its not a gain so.. I guess that is good. Certainly not good for the goals I wanted to achieve this month though!
I drank enough water to drown a fish the last two days and hit all my protein goals, even went a bit over to see if that would make a difference as sometimes it can shake things loose. I have read that plateaus can stick around for for 3-4 weeks and that is what is considered a "true" plateau.
Off to the workout room this morning and then off for a fall trail ride with a friend to soak up what might be the last of some gorgeous fall sunny days.

Here we are at another Monday. Snow/rain in the forecast by the end of the week so I am really glad I got out with the horses on Sunday. It was a beautiful ride.
I have a quick getaway overnight trip this week that we do annually with friends to a nearby Hot springs resort. Very much looking forward to it.

I celebrated my birthday on Saturday night with familyβ¦..Mexican food and wine βΊοΈ. Today DS and DD are popping by for a slice of carrot cake (I will say yes to a sliver only). Back to protein goals today! And making exercise plans for the week.

All the experts say that cardio doesn't help lose weight for women my age ,and in fact can cause more harm than good , ie. inflammation and weight gain. As a "recovering cardio addict " I have been switching gears and focusing more on Strength training .(mostly because my knee is so sore and swollen from what I think is a reinjury , more on that later)
In the last two weeks I have really backed off the cardio and it seems like my weight responded with getting more stuck. For the last several days , (just to see what happens) I went back to 30-40 minutes of cardio 4 days a week AND my strength sessions . And now the scale is moving down again.
Nothing else changed other than that. (food/calories/diet/water/etc)
Coincidence??? Body just adjusting?? hard to say but every time I have felt bloated or the scale isn't moving much , I resort to hard cardio pushes and I see a change.. Maybe its just water weight. Either way, I am sticking to keeping my beloved cardio 3- 4 times a week. Maybe I am just an outlier .

@Michieb125- Thank you! I have been riding and competing all my life but I took this year off competition.. I don't miss it. I am enjoying just taking it easy with no pressure..
@dannytrees1 -A little celebrating is good and part of the process. We can't always be 100% all the time. I know for me I have some things coming up that will likely cause some increases but I am going to enjoy them but also not go overboard.. that is always key.

It was thanksgiving weekend for me so a lot of indulgence, plus getting clobbered by hormones and stress. So Iβm not surprised by the uptick on the scale. The plan for this week is get back to low stress and no booze.
