Getting close to wrapping up October. Tomorrow I leave bright and early for some beach time with some friends. It will be a long day of flying and tight connections to get there, but I have been looking forward to this trip for a very long time.
I am feeling better , started to yesterday afternoon but then didn't sleep well at all and I have no idea why, maybe the anticipation of the trip.
Going to get one more hard workout in today and hopefully be able to maintain with lots of walking while on the trip.

@dannytrees1 So happy for your progress this month! We didn't buy any candy - we simply can't have it in the house. So we'll be hiding out for Halloween with the lights off. π»

@Michieb125 I'm glad you can do an alternate workout - hopefully your knee will feel better. I alternate between my knees or my feet giving me issues with increased walking. Sometimes icing it after a walk will help; and I do sometimes take an Advil an hour or so after my walk if I'm feeling discomfort. I hope you can find some relief.

Did my Barre class with a girlfriend yesterday and happy I went. Will go each Tuesday morning during the month of November.
Iβm using Voltaren on my knee and a thin wrap for compression under my jeans - it seems to be helping.
This week is about staying within my calories. On the MFP calculator it shows my BMR is 1170 for my height and weight.
Questionβ¦..how did you determine your caloric threshold for WL? Many of you are having great success.
I know I do need to increase vegetables in my diet to fill me up so I picked up some zucchini, broccoli and cabbage to incorporate into recipes.
October was a crazy busy month around here and lots of celebrations, so I am looking forward to a quieter and cooler month (and darker) in November and find my mojo.

@Michieb125 I have something similar to Voltaren for my knee - I haven't used it much, but I should look at trying that again. I know it can take a few days to start working. I often found compression bandages alone helped at times, too.
I think my calories are set at 1450. I used to have it at 1200 and I was ravenous all day. I am using frozen or canned veggies to bulk up a meal -- they are super low in calories. For lunch, I take frozen/canned veggies mixed in spaghetti sauce and add vegetarian meat crumbles. Sometimes I sprinkle grated cheese on it too. The veggies and spaghetti sauce was an old Weight Watchers trick my mom told me about. Broccoli/carrots/green beans/cauliflower - all of it will work with sauce. A little goes a long way. You can have a ton of veggies and it really isn't much in calories. But (and there's always a but), too much for too long often causes some digestive distress, so do what works for you.
When I could eat popcorn, that was my filler of choice. I have likely eaten metric tons of popcorn in my lifetime. My body really hates it now, despite my long love affair with it. But if you can eat it, it's an amazing low cal filler. A little "I can't believe it's not butter" butter spray and light salt will give it some flavor if you can't do plain.1 -

I'm starting a 12:12 intermittent fasting - which may go to a shorter window.
Tracking my meals
Hitting Protein goal of 100+
and Staying under 1700 calories
Ultimate goal: 104
Short term goal: 106 - its really more than a number. Its to stop a cycle of "eat all the things". To inch forward into I eat 3 meals a day and stay within a nutrient dense food selection and I don't over exercise or overeat. And I do all this because it brings me so much more JOY than I could ever imagine. I absolutely hate the guilt, shame and regret from making bad food choices. It makes me feel emotionally spent and physically spent (because I try to exercise it off/out).
In Oct. I was able to meet my goals 66% of the time. I had 10 days where I did not meet my goals so, this month, november, I am setting the goal to be 71% of the time. (I'm just pulling a number out of the hat.)

Last post for October!!!
This month really flew by for me and admittedly, I did have a lot of distractions that took me away from planned meals and daily routines. I also joined this thread a little late. Hereβs a guilty pleasure post for accountabilityβI havenβt eaten any Halloween candy and itβs not really my thing, but you know those old fashioned pumpkin shaped frosted sugar cookies from a decadent bakery? Yep I allowed myself this βtreatβ yesterday.
