I’m going to a fundraiser dance for our hospice tonight with my husband. I never know anyone at it so it's usually a long quiet night of nodding and smiling. I'm not particularly looking forward to it but
sometimes these thing can surprise you!

@daria0919 - Thanks for the advise. I phoned and made a doctors appointed for next Wednesday and will go from there. I only buy runners for over pronation and avoid completely flat shoes or put in the shop bought arch supports.

Parkrun 5k this morning. Nice to be running pain free but need to work on getting my speed back. Dragged my niece (21) and my daughter (12) along. Niece did well and will return. Daughter hated it, and will return!

    February Goal: 125 miles

    2/18: 6.26 miles
    2/20: 2.62 miles

    101.66/125 miles completed for February

I didn't run on Wednesday. It was 12°F feels like -7° when I got up and it was windy. Even Pup didn't want to go outside and she is a collie and likes the cold weather. But yesterday I decided to brave the cold. The temperature was a little lower, 10°F, but it wasn't as windy and the feels like temperature was 1°. I didn't run far. Just 2.62 miles. I was cold, but I was dressed ok. It was mostly just my fingers and toes that were uncomfortable. My watch did that thing again where it died on me mid run. I have been trying to decide if it is a cold issue or a battery issue. I have been charging it every night, so maybe it is the cold. I have the zombies run app and they have a radio mode, so I have been listening to that even when there isn't a new episode. It tracks my run using my phone GPS so I have a backup. Yesterday I looked at my watch when I was at 1.97 miles. When I looked down a few steps later expecting to see 2 miles I saw my watch shut off. I was just leaving the park at a spot that I know is .62 miles from my house. And zombies run showed that I ran 2.62 miles so I feel confident of my mileage.

Great Run @kgirlhart! You're inspirational to me!

My Garmin started showing sensor issues several months ago, eventually the sensors stopped recording anything (re: my earlier post about 'detraining'). As I knew I wasn't remotely 'detraining' and had other methods to record HR, I wasn't too fussed about it, as it still recorded distance/pace/etc ; of course, my overall Garmin Stats were extensively crappy, but I wasn't too fussed about those either.
This past week the battery charging changed, substantially, and one day I woke to a dead watch.
Got it charged & working, but no longer trusted it & I wanted a birthday gift; I found a good deal on a older model. I hope your watch is fine!!

    21 Feb - Walked 1.40 miles - Ran 3.10 miles - Treadmill

    54.30/80 miles goal

I did a treadmill session this morning. The run/walk portion was 4.5-5.5/4.0 mph for various times. I did run more and fewer walk breaks than yesterday, but somehow it was 13 sec/mile slower. I guess not making it up to 5.6 mph was the issue. Anyway, I was okay with the avg pace of 12:41 min/mile. Avg HR was 130 with a max of 157 bpm.

    Nice run/walk @quilteryoyo !

I went over to the Pixel Watch 3 world awhile back, and so far it's okay. (Fifteen years in the Garmin ecosystem so I have a sense of loss.😢)

You could do me a big favor @kgirlhart My FR745 is sitting here unused, it probably has a year or more of life in it. Send me a PM and I'll send it to you. Knowing it isn't going to waste would be a big plus for me.

@tarun_yadavA So sorry you are sidelined, but glad it seems like if you let your foot recover that you can run pain free again! Your foot does look quite flat.

@ContraryMaryMary It sounds like you had a successful park run! I’m glad your daughter will return despite “hating it” ;).

Today I did a 6.5km recovery run on the treadmill, some mobility exercises and some arm strength training. My legs are still quite tired both from my long run and from weight lifting a couple days ago, so trying to take it easy and let them recover.

    239.3/301km.

@Mari33a Have fun with your husband at the fundraiser tonight. Hopefully you can get some dancing moves in. Hope your doctor's appointment goes well next week.

Thanks @John772016 . You are doing great. I'm thankful for my treadmill a lot!

    Nice recovery @Laurz9191 .

Great parkrun @ContraryMaryMary ! Glad your niece and daughter plan to go back. You are being a very good roll model for them.

    Morning all.

30 mins bike, 30 mins rower.
Wanted to do some dumbbells but it's Saturday morning and every 12kg-18kg one was in use, so will probably do weights on Mondays and say, Thursdays.

Bleurgh. Can't help but feel. 60 mins worth of running - woulda run a 10K or upto 6.5 miles and burnt ~900 calories.
    This feels so energy inefficient.

As for orthotics. I did get them tweaked about 2 or so years ago when I was having MCL/gastrocnemius pain. But that was just some tape on the heel.

You can see here... It's just collapsed and there's actually a crack through it.

16years it had a good run!

    Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Will check in from time to time over next 3 weeks

Good workout @tarun_yadavA! Yes, not the calorie burn one would prefer over 60 minutes, but great that you hit the gym!

Oh my, that orthotic is definitely ready for a grand burial ceremony!

    Have a lovely weekend! Cheers!

Thanks for checking in @tarun_yadavA ! You did great, even if you didn't burn the calories you are used to. That gym looks pretty busy. You'll be ready for a nice run in 3 weeks.

    and burnt ~900 calories.

Will check in from time to time over next 3 weeks

I know you are among the golden "maintainers" here. Kudos. Will you address this change in easy regular calorie expenditure (long runs) by modifying your food/diet?

For instance moving toward lower carbs, lower calories, or something along those lines. Hypothetically a maintainer who pounds out a five mile loop everyday completely lost the ability to do those runs, what are shifts to maintain weight/health/satisfaction etc.

With only 3 weeks I am sure you could ignore all this and wait until you are healthfully running again, but this is food for thought.

My stress fracture in 4/2020 probably needed a few months for recovery, and I am going on five years of not fully recovering that fitness. --- Though I remain optimistic ;)

I do hope you are able to check-in.
