I try to live a low drama life. Recently I've been on a consistent healthy plan. This Friday I had plans to work, go to the dermatologist, workout at my gym, have a healthy dinner, then read in preparation for my book club.
Walking home from the gym, crossing the street, I got laid out by a bicyclists. I have some scapes, some bruises, and a mild concussion. The bicyclists was worse and was transported to hospital.
The US has a three day weekend, I'm going to rest.
(In making the best of a bad situation...I didn't eat dinner last night. This morning I made my short term goal at 225 lbs.🎉
Four years ago I wrote "225" on the outside of a big bag and put all my clothes that I like that were getting too tight. This weekend I'm going to open it up, see what's in there, run them through the wash, then enjoy a "new" wardrobe.)7 -
You're doing great @brnlow . You'll be going further than you ever imagined soon.
Great Saturday run @tarun_yadavA !
Great training walk @daria0919 . I hope your ankle is okay today.
Good grief @chris_in_cal . I'm glad your dermatology appointment went well and glad you weren't hurt any worse in the collision with the bicyclist. (I hope he is ok, too.) Sounds like rest over the weekend is a good plan. COGRATS on getting back to 225 and getting a whole "new" wardrobe. What book is your book club reading? I've thought about joining one, just to make me have a reason to read again. But, then again, I don't need anything else in my life that I feel I HAVE to do, even if I don't feel like it. LOL3 -

Wasn't really feeling like running today, but thought it would get better once I got going. Not today! I was weak, gluteus maximus is sore, and I just didn't have any energy. I gave up after 1.6 total miles, planning to get back on it after I practiced my piano music for church tomorrow. But, I just couldn't get back on the treadmill.
Next week will be busy, but I'm hoping to get in some longer runs so I'll at least have a fighting chance to make my goal.6 -
like @quilteryoyo I wasn't really feeling it today but I did manage a 10K. I think the drizzly chilly 40's weather and the upcoming cold snap as well as sleeping poorly last night contributed.
Seems like the whole team here is going thru injury and illness right now...and colliding with a cyclist... yikes!

Long run at the Greenway trail today. It was pretty quiet this morning because it was damp and little cool. People were starting to show up as I was wrapping up. It felt pretty good but my Garmin still tells me I'm overreaching.7 -

I am posting two runs again. Friday it was cold, but not as cold as Thursday. I ran 3.25 miles. It was an OK run. I decided to do my long run today and rest on Sunday. It was 58°F. Tomorrow is supposed to be 31°F feels like 21°. It is supposed to be even colder later this week. I enjoyed the run today. It was a little windy, but otherwise it was nice.
5 -
Morning all. Ending up going for a run in the end. Got in 4.0M at 10'19.
Happy Sunday!8 -
Great job on yesterday's "not feeling it" 10K @SummerSkier .
Burr @Mari33a ! It's going to be really cold the end of this week here and I am NOT looking forward to that.
Garmin, Samrmin. You did great @martaindale !
You've got a great streak going there @brnlow !
Great running @kgirlhart !
4 -
@tarun_yadavA just gotta streak!!! 😂 Its chilly and the wind is crazy again today but I can dress for it and I feel more energetic than yesterday. I had to switch my watch up to my other arm as it was hurting my wrist and I not have a slightly unhappy vein. so strange this getting older stuff.
It feels to me reading the past day or so that we are turning some corners here and getting back to it.....5 -

7 -
@brnlow I find streaking really motivates me to at least get in a mile walk everyday, even when on vacation. I used to never exercise when I wasn't home. If I can do it, I know you can!
You're doing great @John772016 ! It's hard to run on Jelly legs.

I did have more energy today, but kept with my Sunday Rest day and walked between church and lunch. Hopefully, I'll be back to somewhat normal tomorrow (also took an hour nap today).
I hope all of our friends in Virginia and Kentucky are safe from the floods. @Teresa502 and @daria0919 are the one's I'm thinking of right off the top of my head. There may be others.6 -

Got in 5.0M at 09'497 -
@quilteryoyo glad you are feeling a little better and stuck with the rest day activity. Hopefully today you will have the energy.
Yesterday I got in a 10 miler and then was doing a walk after lunch. It was brisk out in the 30's and the wind was so strong I was practically running in place when it was head on. My avg for the month was still just slightly under 8 so I decided to bump it with a half mile run after my walk. LOL. It worked but I know I cannot continue that distance avg.... today is supposed to be tennis and hopefully the promised south wind and 60's will let that happen.
Has anyone used a sidekick muscle recovery/massage tool ? It looks interesting but pretty pricy.5 -
Good Monday morning all! After strength training, I ran a mile on the treadmill. Feeling pretty low on energy for the last couple of days for some reason.
@SummerSkier I've never heard of the sidekick muscle recovery tool.
@quilteryoyo - When I got home from Florida on Saturday evening, I had to take an alternate route home due to the road being flooded on my normal route but thankfully I wasn't affected by any other flooding. It's been really bad in many places nearby.4 -

I'm not going to run today as it is just too windy and I'm fed up getting blasted over the past week.
I googled the side kick recovery tool - looks quite dangerous6 -
Hi everyone!
Yesterday I didn’t post, but I had a nice run 11.2km run. I felt pretty lethargic but got it done. It was beautiful out, as the cold weather finally got rid of our never-ending cloud cover and the sun was out. And, after a week of being labelled unproductive my watch finally told me I was doing “ok”😅.
Today I met a friend at the gym and thus only ran a 5km. I was planning on getting a second run in later in the day but was held up at work. I still was happy about my workout, as I did a lot more weight training than I normally do and I would really like to make that a habit, so I will try to meet my friend there regularly when our schedules allow.
178.2/301km for February.6 -
Ha @Laurz9191, Garman finally told me I was productive today too. Those unproductive and overreaching statuses are quite rude aren’t they.
I did an easy 5K this morning - my first run with a couple of stitches in my back. It seemed to be fine.8 -

@Teresa502 - What part of FL were you in? I'm down here in the sunshine state.4 -
Congrats on your Garmin approval @Laurz919!
Mine's been telling me I'm 'detraining' but I'm pretty sure its due to the heart rate sensor (& a couple others) stopping working entirely....at least that's what I'm telling myself...
Congrats on your successful run @ContraryMaryMary

I did a run before work this morning. Felt really good. Nice and cold! Garmin upgraded me from overreaching to unproductive. 😂 I think mine is so confused because it wasn't working for about a week, during which time I was running and even did a HM. Then it got fixed, the temps were warmer, I was tired from the race weekend and my HR was higher. Now it's colder and my HR looks better. Hopefully it will figure itself out soon.7 -
Morning all
Got in 5.0M at 10'09.
Left foot sore again. Roll on Thursday for my appointment6 -
@martaindale @ContraryMaryMary @John772016 It is quite rude to be labelled unproductive
. I think what confuses my Garmin is that it doesn’t accurately get my pace on the treadmill, plus it’s warmer in the gym, so heart rate is higher, etc. I don’t know why I am making excuses for my watch
. In any case, I don’t “need” its approval. Good thing too, because I don’t often get it.
This morning I had 15x1 min intervals planned, with 1 min recovery. With the minus temperatures outside, I definitely wanted to get it done on the treadmill. The workout was brutal, but I got through all the repeats. A minute can really seem like a long time when you get tired! I ran a total of 16.22km.
@tarun_yadavA I’m really sorry to hear that your foot is hurting you!!! I hope it is a very temporary issue!!!
