    Stay safe. We have 200,000 people in eastern Ontario without power. My son lives in Huntsville, his power was on and off yesterday, but they have a generator.

    I'm in the GTA, in southern Ontario, we only got rain yesterday.

    I love the tickerfactory that @deepwoodslady uses. I went to their site and created one. I'm hoping this visual gives me more motivation to stay consistent. So far this week has been a good week with consistent exercise. Saturday we visited our youngest son, it is always a high calorie in and low calorie out day. So far, I'm at a net calorie deficit for the week. My weight is going up, but I feel really good, so I'm not going to stress over it.

    Summers are extremely hot here, like 40c. Awesome for my tomatoes and peppers. My sister who lives in Vancouver came to visit last summer, and forgot how hot it is when you don't have ocean breezes.

    Oh my, as I look out the window there are a few snowflakes! March did come in like a lamb….it was beautiful, blue, and warm yesterday, no need for a sweater. Going out like a lion I guess. All good.

    Mini challenge

    Get outside each day for at least 5 minutes in whatever weather.

    Anybody else willing to give it a try? Lol, with this new format I am not even sure how to do that! They don't even consult with users before implementing a Rich Text Editor from the 1990s?

    Some days I have to run from one job to another, but I have 2 days of split shifts at the same place, so this should be easy for me the next 2.

    Friday March 7 👍️

    More than 5 minutes. I could have accepted a second job for the day, just didn't.

    Saturday March 08 - 15 minutes on that same path as the day before. Planning it again during my break today, it is the only place where it isn't spring muddy, it is paved.

    Sunday March 09 - Ditto to Saturday, 15 minutes on the path around Idlewild lake during my break.

    Monday March 10 - only a few minutes here and there out the back alley of work, smoking witt the chefs. Still nice to be outside looking up at the sky. Got my 5 minutes. Tuesday I won't be wearing shoes after my pedicure, so I will at least aim to sit on my steps or out on my porch in the fresh air.

    Tuesday March 11 - Only about 7 minutes in my flip flops with fresh polish on my toes. It got quite cool out. Wednesday and Thursday I run from one job to another, so only if I have time to go into the back alley at my first job will I get outside.

    Wednesday March 12 - Probably only like 7 minutes out the back alley of my first job of the day, smoking with the Red Cross guy from a few doors down and chatting. So hard for me to get outside on certain days even though I really want to. Some day I will retire, but not for a couple of years, and then I can be outside way more. Today will be ditto to yesterday, and then I have split shifts where I certainly have time to walk a short trail during my break.

    Thursday March 13 - Ditto to Wednesday, no time in between jobs. Today I am not taking the 3rd job, I am just going to go up to the path that is paved and have a nice walk.

    Friday March 14 - 4 times around the "park" path, so a glorious hour outdoors. Totally renewed my spirit.

    Saturday March 15 - I got up to the park again during my split shift break. I plan to do the same today. Tomorrow possibly 2 different jobs, if so I won't get a break in between.

    Sunday March 16 - Nice walk twice around the park path. It really restores me and stretches everything out.

    Monday March 17 - Twice around the park during my break on my split shift. My pedometre usually shows 100 calories burned during this (although I am not doing it for that reason) but it was only 80 calories for some reason.

    Tuesday March 18 - Didn't make it up to the park, very windy. I walked over to the post office and was out in my yard, so I got my 5+ minutes outside. Wednesday and Thursday I run from one job to the next, so outdoor time is limited to a few minutes here and there out the back alley of my day job.

    Wednesday March 19 - Only in the alley here and there, putting my face up to the sky

    Thursday March 20 - Wednesdays and Thursdays I run from one job to another. 5 minutes in the back alley of my day job is pretty much all that I can expect to get.

    Friday March 21 - 3 loops around the park (45 minutes)

    Saturday March 22 -Back alley only. I had a break on my split shift but it was so windy and I was so tired. I did some extra Fitness Marshall during my break and some stuff around the house.

    Sunday March 23 - Glorious twice around the lake at the park during my split break.

    Monday March 24 - Back alley only several times. 5+ minutes for sure.

    Tuesday March 25 - Walked to the thrift store and back, then went on a trail that I have been avoiding because of the muddy spring season. It was deceptive at the front of it, then got muddy. Normally this trail takes me only 10 minutes each way, but it was 23 as I was dodging deep mud. Still, it was really great.

    Wednesday March 26 - My 2 days where I run from one job to the next are the same - I only get outside if I go out the back alley of the Indian restaurant. No opportunity whatsoever at the second restaurant of the day. I get like 5-7 minutes outdoors on these days. It seemed like summer outside!

    Thursday March 27 - Just 5-ish minutes in and out of the back alley to put my face to the sky.

    Friday March 28 - 4 glorious laps around the lake at the park. Refreshes my soul. I didn't scramble to the upper path as usual, because it is tick season and there are a lot of trees and brush up there.

    Saturday March 29 - Just one lap around the lake. It had been a very windy day, but it was very nice when I arrived at the path, no wind. I thoroughly was enjoying it. As I was about to begin the second lap it started to rain heavily, so I abandoned ship and went to buy a few groceries instead. 15 minutes to do one lap. So refreshing to my spirit.

    Sunday March 30 - I worked through most of my break, but still had time for a quick trail for 20 minutes. Very lovely.

    I'm not sure how many rounds of this 100 that I have done, but quite a few. I first joined this thread at 198 pounds.
    I was sitting at 130 pounds in 2021, working very hard to get into the 120s (ugw 110-118)

    Day 50—03/25— 150.0 - I was so very tired yesterday. My shift finished around 3:15, but I just couldn't go to a trail. I think that I was in bed by 4:30pm. Working 6 days a week is not ideal but I guess better than the 7 days per week that I did last year. Taking a big rest day today, not planning on putting on shoes which exacerbate my bad feet and ankle. Drizzling rain here, but not windy like it has been for the last 3 days. Well, maybe I will go up to a trail a little later today after all.

    Halfway Progress Report: …..Pounds Lost gained so Far: 0.4

    Day 51—03/26— 150.4 - I am dealing with a blocked ear. This happens to hearing aide wearers from time to time. I tried to fix it myself with a series of drops, like I did last week, but this time it didn't work. The only appointment that I could get with my doctor to blow it out is for 11am this morning, and I normally get to work around 10:45 to open the restaurant. I will just have to be late for work, because I couldn't answer phones or hear people.

    Day 52—03/27— 150.4 - Late dinner. I once tried to not eat dinner at all for awhile. Lol, I am always trying something. I do keep tablespoons, 1/4 cup, 1/3 cup, 1/2 cup measurers on hand. One of my small changes back around 200 pounds was to measure the coffee cream that I put into my coffee. It has long ago become a habit. That and many other small things that I consistently have implemented. Searching for the next thing/change that is going to get me back to 130 and below.

    Day 53—03/28— 149.4 - I had a very hard time sleeping last night. Not bidding on a job for tonight, just going to do my day shift at the Indian restaurant. On Fridays I get a group of seniors that get picked up all over town, taken to Safeway shopping, and then brought in to my restaurant for coffee and chatting. Highlight of my week : - )

    Day 54—03/29— 149.8 - I worked only one job yesterday, so met some friends for a couple of drinks. Split shifts today and tomorrow at the same place, so I enjoy that and the 2 hour break in between : - )

    Day 55—03/30— 149.8 - 149.4. I weighed twice because I thought that I should be less since 3 days of salad finally came out before I weighed. We'll see what the weight is tomorrow.

    Day 56—03/31— 150.2 - Very good day yesterday, lots of calorie burn, healthy foods. I really expected a loss : - ( Gaining .2 each week is really catching up. I don't like it at all.

    Good Afternoon! How did everyone do? I see some losses, but some haven't checked in yet.

    Day 51—03/26— 171.6 - I forgot AGAIN to weigh myself yesterday before I had breakfast out so I can't comment on my halfway mark. BUT I can see it didn't negatively affect my weight. I am inching closer to the 160's. Slow and steady wins the race.

    Day 52—03/27— 172.6 - Have a dental appointment today. Does anxiety cause weight gain? LOL!

    Day 53—03/28— 172 - Dentist went well…. that's over for another 6 months. I didn't have anything to eat all day until about 4 in the afternoon and it tasted terrible because the dentist painted some white sticky stuff on my gums that made everything I ate taste like that stuff…bleah! Haven't decided on what's on the menu today yet. But I will be good.

    Day 54—03/29— 173 - I am out with the dog...we both need the exercise. I won't make goal. Not sure what happened there.…I did really well with food yesterday. Oh well....tomorrow is another day.

    Day 55—03/30— 171.6 - Well, back where I started at least….that's good to see. Had a nice day out yesterday….that probably helped. And my food was good choices. Maybe I can ditch those 6 oz in a day? I will do my best.

    Day 56—03/31— 171.8 - Nope ...didn't make it. But I am still satisfied. I am beginning to feel thinner and I like that feeling.

But as is often the case with my excuses and procrastination—particularly when it comes to exercise—it doesn’t get done. This leaves me feeling guilty and disappointed in myself. I just need to figure out how to consistently turn my good intentions into action.

    Day 1, Tue 87.2 kg, looking in the mirror I would describe myself as being about 40% obese and 60% overweight. I’ll update that on Day 50. I’m not sure how much I can lose because I don’t know what my current rate of exercise and diet produce. I guess I’ll find out in a few weeks. Using an app to track my food. I’m aiming for an average of 6,000 kilojoules. I’ll post how much I’m spending on food because I’m using this challenge to train myself to keep to a food budget. $800 for the whole period. Today I had a splurge and spent $37.16. I ate 9,889 kilojoules so that’s my average so far. At the gym I ran 5 minutes at 5.5 km/hr, 5 minutes at 5.4 and 20 minutes at 5.3. For the last 10 minutes I’m starting to notice how hot I am.

    Day 2, Wed 87.7 kg exercise is the same as Day 1, it only gets harder at the start of a new month. Food spending $3.70 so I'm averaging $20.43 per day, average daily food intake is 7741 kilojoules.

    Day 3, Thu 88.0 kg exercise is the same as Day 1, average food intake is 7011 kilojoules and average food spending is $14.85

    Day 9, Wed 87.5 kg exercise is the same as Day 1, average food intake is 6859 Kilojoules and I'm $51 overspent on my food budget. I'm doing a little challenge of eating below 6000 kilojoules and I've completed one day successfully.

    Day 10, Thu 86.6 kg exercise is the same as Day 1, average food intake is 6767 kilojoules and I'm $43 overspent on my food budget. 2 days of my little challenge to eat below 6000 kilojoules. I'm allowed to break that challenge for when I get a new personal best time on Saturday's runs, as well as February 20 and 1st Wednesday in March.

    10 days - how is it going? I've lost 0.6 kilograms which is alright. I just need to eat less a little bit more often.

    Day 11, Fri 86.6 kg so I only use treadmills at the gym which have emergency stop cord, so that means I can only use one treadmill. The other 3 have broken clips. It was being used when I arrived and also after my shower so I used the elliptical instead. I did 30 minutes at the highest setting with an average pace of 15:50. The next time I use that I'll aim for 15:45. My food spending is $35 over budget. My average food intake is 6696 Kilojoules. Still doing my little challenge to reduce my intake - 3 days.

    Day 12, Sat 86.8 kg exercise I had a 5 kilometer run in a park (with 930 other people) and I had a personal best time on that route. Apparently I'm increasing by 4.9 seconds per week. I had a celebratory sugarfest. My average food intake is 6928 kilojoules and my food spending is $55 over budget. I chose a arbitrary average food intake of 6000 kilojoules at the start of this challenge, it's a bit slow so I'm now going for 5900 kilojoules average food.

    Day 13, Sun 86.6 kg exercise is the same as Day 1, my food spending is $47 over budget and my average food intake is 6833 kilojoules.

    Day 14, Mon 87.4 kg, exercise is the same as Day 1, my food spending is $39 over budget and my average food intake is 6769 kilojoules. The good news is that I've been losing weight for 9 weeks. The bad news is that my weigh loss is rather slow. I'm comfortable doing it at this rate but I want to speed things up. I want to get my average intake to 5900 kilojoules and I'm giving myself a small challenge - get down to 5900 kilojoules average in 28 days or less and I can have a sugarfest.

    20 days - how is it going? I'm losing weight (10 weeks in a row) but I'm eating too much, my weight loss is too slow. I'm also spending too much but I've figured out what I can eat which is low cost and also beneficial to my eczema - green peas. My eczema has reached a point where it's keeping me awake at night.

    I'm not losing weight particularly quickly. So I'm giving myself a challenge. How many days in a row can I eat below 6,000 kilojoules? I think I've achieved about 12 days in the past. The challenge starts on Thursday. I'm also giving myself a food 'rule'. Sausage and chips only allowed when I do laundry (once every 14 days). Basically I just like it too much.

    Day 50 update, how is it going? I'm eating too much food, since 1st January (when I restarted tracking my intake) I've overeaten enough to put on 3 kilograms of fat. When I reach goal weight, I want my average intake to be 6,000 kilojoules (or less). I've pretty much given up on the idea of reaching goal weight by the end of 2025. I have no idea when I'll reach goal weight, maybe 1st July 2026? 5 1/2 years go lose 32 kg. I also have massively overspent on food. This is the real deal for me, my parents have gone and I don't have any inheritance left. I need to train myself to keep to a budget for food. It seems to be my ultimate challenge. I don't know if I can underspend in the future for food because my eczema has worsened in the last 3 months and I may be wheat sensitive, so most of my intake will be fruit and vegetables which aren't very cheap. I think I can reach goal weight by 1st July next year, it shouldn't be too difficult. Of course, if something bad happens all bets are off.

I am going to abandon my post of getting outside for a minimum of 5 minute (my mini challenge) but I am mindful now of how important it is, and am 100% committed to do it.
