One year to goal (daily check ins)

Good morning to you and happy birthday to me. I just turned 37 and my health and weight is in a pretty bad spot. My present to myself for today is starting to turn things around. My present to myself for next year will be reaching my goal weight.
I have been working on weight loss for the past 4,5 years and I have done a good job several times. My issue is with keeping the weight off. There is always a point where I stop caring, eat whatever I want again and it is really hard to get control back. I have tried several communities but I don't feel like I get much out of them lately. I don't expect to get lots of engagement here either, but it is a new place, easy to post and a new challenge always gives fresh motivation.
I don't want to waste time looking back at what my weight was a year ago since that is not helpful. I am truly going for a fresh start, giving it my all, learning from past mistakes and getting where I want to be without losing sight of my "why".
Stepping on the scale tomorrow morning to kick off weekly Wednesday weigh ins. I will also be posting here every morning to recap the previous day. Feel free to follow along and I hope you have a lovely day. 💜

Good morning. It is Wednesday here now so time for my first weigh in. I will also take some measurements every 12th of the month to have some more numbers to compare. Here are my statistics for today, March 12:
- Weight ~ 229.2 (highest ever is 247)
- Chest ~ 122 cm
- Belly ~ 124 cm
- Hips ~ 132 cm
- Thigh ~ 71 cm
- Calf ~ 42 cm
- Arm ~ 34 cm
The last time I stepped on the scale was a month ago. Worst case I guessed I would be over 230 now. I am glad I wasn't, though this number is still not very nice of course. Time to get it down! I will be back with another post tomorrow. Have a lovely day 💜

Pretty happy with my day! I also managed to get some cleaning done. Falling asleep has been an issue for the past week or so. I want at least 8 hours of sleep so I am pleased I still got enough.

Food is an estimate since I had lunch out with my parents for my birthday. It wasn't anything too crazy though and the rest of the day I didn't eat much either.

Calories were a little over my goal. I am okay with that though since all of the food was healthy. Also, I didn't get fat from overeating 40 calories.

I ordered a couple of oversized t-shirts (3x) for summer a few days ago. I figured since they were pretty cheap, it would be fun to also get a size small so I can see what I am working towards. I really hope I will be able to wear it a year from now!

I have been going to the gym for around 5 weeks now. Don't really notice any improvements yet. I start with 5 minutes of rowing and the first time I got around 773 meters in that time. My goal is to get to 1000 meters. I really tried yesterday, and I still didn't manage. My heartrate went up to 189 which is probably my max. Not sure if that is supposed to happen. I will ask a trainer about it tomorrow, but it might not be a good idea to push this.

I asked at the gym, and I need to chill out a bit with the rower because that high of a heart rate isn't good. So I did and I still got to 950 meters with my heart going up to 167 max. That was pretty decent. When I got home, my day kind of went to hell. I struggle with emotional eating sometimes and I ended up having 3 brownie pieces so my calories for the day were too high.

Slept pretty badly and my heel was extremely painful. I cancelled my time slot at the gym, but then later it didn't feel so bad anymore so I decided to go anyway at 16:00. Glad I went, it was a good workout.
