    Day 46 ~ April 26

    • Sleep ~ 9h 4m
    • Steps ~ 18.224
    • Vitamins ~ done
    • Food ~ 1630 calories / 100 protein / 46 fiber
    • Walk 1 ~ 73 minutes / 5.49 km
    • Walk 2 ~ 48 minutes / 3.63 km

It was a holiday here so the gym was closed. That's okay though, I like the walks more anyway! It was a bit foggy and chilly and very quiet in the morning. Did laundry, then second walk and then more laundry.

Thank you Karen, glad the food was nice. My mom also quilted a few blankets. I still have my baby blanket and another one she made for me.

Great job with today’s photos. Can feel the rainy weather from here. 😁🕸️🕷️It’s a little early but I’ll be looking for a web. Love the details of their work

Do you live in Australia 🇦🇺 or Canada 🇨🇦

Agree walking outside over the gym. My ‘silver’ gym class starts at 8:00 so the hardest part for me is getting out of the house on time. After it ends then I’m happy 😂

I love your pictures. I just had my 44th Birthday. I have lost and gained huge amounts of weight lots of times. I lost 177 lb in two years and then in past year I have gained 77 lb back. It is so hard to get back on track again but I am also back here trying to get myself motivated again and find some people to connect with who understand. It looks like you are doing great. I also love going for walks. Today I went walking to see the bluebells. I was tempted to eat things that are no good for me on way home when went to shop but I put them back on the shelf and just got the items I went in for. 1 healthy day.

@RunawayCurves Thanks for popping in here and sharing the pretty flowers! I feel like the first good day is always the hardest. Now you have something to build on, so keep going! For me the grocery store is always the worst. So many things I see that I 'can't' have. I try to go through with a list, never when I am hungry and as fast as possible, lol. It is still not fun with temptations everywhere. I hope you will post here now and then, the more the merrier.

    Day 47 ~ April 27

    • Sleep ~ 8h 50m
    • Steps ~ 17.406
    • Vitamins ~ done
    • Food ~ 1643 calories / 100 protein / 47 fiber
    • Walk 1 ~ 67 minutes / 4.98 km
    • Walk 2 ~ 45 minutes / 3.53 km

I had a fun morning walk and found a little friend. He was in the middle of a parking lot of the national park which gets very busy on Sundays, so I moved him to some tall grass where hopefully people won't walk. This week is pretty warm and my second walk was miserable. I just have sooo much less energy it is actually insane. Also the short forest walk has tree roots everywhere so I am constantly looking down to make sure I don't faceplant. Not very entertaining. Thinking of going for boring instead and using my walking pad in the afternoon on the warm days. Didn't do much else than the walks because I was exhausted.

Oh, and I live in the Netherlands! So your two guesses were not very close, haha!

Netherlands 🇳🇱 I was way off. Love today’s photos. Great job rescuing our green friend. I have them in my yard and have to keep an eye on them 😍 Great job pushing forward on your second walk

After going to a nutritionist at the gym, I’m on a high protein diet. Last night before closing the kitchen I had a chocolate, peanut butter, almond shake. Very filling, delicious and with 33 grams protein. Been buying Jocko Molk with less disagreeable additives

Here’s my favorite neighborhood photo from last fall And the view a few miles away, Three Sisters mountains.

Steps: 13K (gym, trampoline and canyon)

Today's session at the gym was energizing: rowing machine, burpees, and pushups

Food: was in range and health (3 veggies and 2 fruit)

Myfitnesspal has BLC, Biggest Loser Challenge, I'm a member and Wednesday we are starting another challenge. So I'll be busy getting settled into that routine. There's always fun and encouraging ideas.

Would you like me to share them with you?

    Day 48 ~ April 28

    • Sleep ~ 8h 48m
    • Steps ~ 16.891
    • Vitamins ~ done
    • Food ~ 1656 calories / 101 protein / 47 fiber
    • Walk 1 ~ 53 minutes / 3.93 km
    • Walk 2 ~ 45 minutes / 3.20 km

The morning was nice and cool again, though I only went for a short walk. I had to get a bunch of groceries and there was a vet visit at 11:30. My kitty needed his painkiller shot again, but he had also scratched himself open after his last flea treatment and he wouldn't leave it alone. I have had vet wrap around his neck for 3 weeks and it has healed up several times, but as soon as I take it off, he is scratching again. The vet gave us a gel cream to apply twice a day for 5-6 days. It is already looking better so hope this nonsense is done soon.

It was pretty hot already when I walked to the vet, so I decided to do my second walk inside. I put on a youtube video of one of my favourite hiking channels to watch so it wasn't too bad. In the evening I cut down a grape plant. It is on the fence line with my neighbour, but on my side. I agreed to let it grow last year because they wanted the grapes, but I really hate that plant, lol. It grows crazy wild and big and even if they guide it along their fence, it is still annoying in my garden. Well, my neighbours are moving out in 2 days so I decided now would be the perfect time to hack it down again. There is like a metal trellis as a fence piece and my plan is to just cover it up. I sit outside a lot with my cat and I don't like looking in someone elses garden, and don't enjoy them being able to see me either. Maybe I can get something for it when my dad visits Saturday, we will see.

@RunawayCurves Nice goals and steps! Portion sizes are hard, I can nearly always eat more…

@200Karen Love the pictures and glad you enjoy your shake! Protein is hard for me since I don't eat animal products, so I also have a protein drink in my day. It's not bad, but still my least favourite food of the day so I just chug it, lol. I have been in a similar challenge group as the biggest loser. They can be pretty fun. Feel free to share, but I have my hands full with 75 hard, so I likely won't be doing anything extra on top of it! 😀

@Hufflepurr my first husband was a vegetarian and it was a struggle keeping him feed.
My smoothies are whey protein, that I add veggies or fruit. I struggle eating my veggies so I’ve started blending a frozen cucumber or green beans to water. I’ll drink this with a meal or before breakfast helping with my daily quota.

My age and health has been slowing me down so I hear you about not adding more to our busy schedule.

Fun photos 😍amazing sun rays through the trees

Hope your kitty can recover quickly with the new cream. Your grape plant cutting sounds like a job. Best wishes with clearing the fence and with your new neighbors

    Have a great day everyone,

    Hugs Karen

Today I walked 17'420 steps while on a belated birthday outing with friend. I enjoyed meals out and managed to still be in a calorie deficit by doing lots of walking.

I am also signed up to the summer BLC , I have not done it before but hopefully will be able to navigate the site it is linked to ok.

I was vegan for 8 years and also on and off in younger years. I went back to eating eggs, dairy and fish but I still enjoy tofu most days and eat lots of edamame beans. Most days I eat mountains of veg, today was not so much veg but looking forward to my giant veg portions tomorrow.

@RunawayCurves congrats on a great day and impressive step total

I’ve been on the BLC for years maybe 5. I used to be on another online weight loss group Sparkspeople. Once it closed a lot of us moved over to MFP.

Have fun with the challenge. The first week or so is busy learning about your teammates, weekly goals and how to track. What BLC team did you choose?

@200Karen That sounds like a good smoothie! I just mix my powder with water because that is the easiest and cheapest. My cat is already doing much better with the cream, I am very happy about that. I was part of the Fat 2 Fit group. From what I have seen, the BLC seems a bit more strict about things.

@RunawayCurves Great job with the walking and food. Vegan for 8 years is a long time. My only struggle with it is cheese. They just can't make good vegan versions of it. When my diet is not on track, I can eat piles of rice cakes with cheese; it's so addicting. Good luck with the BLC. I hope you will get some benefit from joining them.

    Day 49 ~ April 29

    • Sleep ~ 8h 21m
    • Steps ~ 12.772
    • Vitamins ~ done
    • Food ~ 1646 calories / 105 protein / 46 fiber
    • Gym at 8:30
    • Bike ride for 60 minutes

I had a nice gym workout in the morning. I will ask for a new schedule soon. My gym also has an inBody scale you can use, but I am currently still heavier than when I started at the gym, so it would feel a little crappy to get on it now. I think I will give it two more weeks, maybe by then I will be back around the same weight.

Since it is still too warm for me to walk, I decided to bike instead. Not sure why it took me so long to think of that. Maybe because my bike is electric so I feel like it doesn't really count as a workout, but I am still moving and my feet really appreciated the break. It was a little busy on the bike paths, but I still had a good time and it felt so much better than walking in the heat. The little butterfly is called a green hairstreak. They were flying around all over.

    April 30

    Last week 124

    Today 123.8

    Release 0.2 🥁⭐️⭐️🎯

Didn’t think I would see a release. Time to get serious about my nutrition plan. I’m going to concentrate on fresh vegetables and more vegetables 🥕 🫑🥒🫛🍅🧅

Hufflepurr my BLC group is more laid back most are near their goal weight. I was thinking about taking a break but I didn’t.
Your electric bike sounds perfect for the heat of summer. Best wishes getting the resent weight off. It always amazes me how easy it comes on to releasing.

Thanks for the beautiful views and butterfly close up 🦋 still to early here. Glad your fur baby is getting better ❤️‍🩹

    Day 50 ~ April 30

    • Sleep ~ 8h 41m
    • Steps ~ 16.682
    • Vitamins ~ done
    • Food ~ 1605 calories / 102 protein / 46 fiber
    • Walk 1 ~ 81 minutes / 4.97 km
    • Walk 2 ~ 45 minutes / 3.40 km

Lovely morning walk, this time I took my camera. I have been too lazy for that because my camera is pretty heavy so I wear a harness to take the pressure off my neck. I don't always feel like the extra weight, but I enjoy taking pictures so it is worth it sometimes. Most birds were hiding and/or far away so not much success there. Still had a good time. I walked indoors in the afternoon which was not very fun. Living room was pretty warm, but better than outside.

Nice pictures Karen, and yay for a tiny loss. I like that you call it release. I have also wished many a time that losing was as easy as gaining, but alas. It is still pretty early for butterflies here, but several types are around already, though not a lot of things flowering yet. I think the common brimstone is the one that always shows up first here, as early as February if we have a good sunny day.
    Have a lovely day! 🧡

What great photos. The birds closeup are fantastic 😍

I always wanted to join a bird watching group with the big binoculars, fanny pack, and knee high shorts. Just love nature and the calmness it gives. My camera is on my phone so light and handy.

    Have a great day

Photographing birds is my absolute favourite. It is also pretty difficult though. A phone is great for landscape shots, but not to zoom in on stuff far away. Might depend on your phone, though I still think you will always get better results with a camera. The weather is still pretty nice tomorrow, so I will probably drag my camera along again. Hopefully I will see more fun stuff than last time!

Oh yeah, I forgot to write this in my previous post, but my name is also Laura, lol.

    I love all the pictures.
Here are a couple from my walk abouts today. My friend and I went out and walked around two different gardens.

LOL so this should be easy for me with two Lauras

But how should we distinguish between you both?

Laura #1 thanks for sharing your name 😁

Yes in the 1970's, I had a Canon 35 millimeter zoom lens 💞 I also lived in the primitive area of Idaho, as a caretaker of an old mining claim. Snowed in for 80 miles. Lots of photos that I need to hire a digitization service to get them organized.

    Laura #2 😁

WOW where do you live? So bright and beautiful. The rich colors and size of the flowers are striking. What a great outing with your girlfriend. Love the old castle/church and purple tree in bloom AMAZING.

How did your first BLC day go?

    Here’s my weekly goals? I kept them simple because I like a 100% 🤣

    Weekly Goals:

🏋🏼‍♂️ ST- 3X 30 minutes, sets can be split into shorter times

⛹🏻‍♀️    Cardio- 3X 40 minutes, sets can be split into shorter times

😴    Sleep- 7 hrs restful sleep

    🍗    Personal A-  5X Intermittent Fasting 12 hours + 3 daily veggies

😇    Personal B- 3X daily be kind to self and /or others

I am Laura M if that helps

Lovely tree blossom and cones. Is the tree blossom near where you live? The cherry blossom just finished in my area. We are having an unusually hot spring in England so everything has come early and gone over early. It feels more like July weather at the moment than May.

    Your BLC goals look good.

I live in Hove on south coast of England UK. My friend drove us to two gardens. My friend took the picture of me with all the flowers. One named Nymans national trust and the other was Leonardslee lakes and gardens. I am fortunate to have so many beautiful places I can get to.

I am getting on ok with the BLC tracker practice week.
I have fibromyalgia , bad back and often extreme exhaustion with bipolar. I have too many health issues to list them all so I am also setting my goals to be manageable so I stand some chance of reaching them on my not so good weeks also, hopefully I will be more well for a while now as not long come out of the 8 month really bad bit. I am in a better spell at the moment so making most of it but I spent 8 months mostly in bed between August 2024 and end of March 2025.

    My BLC goals are
    * 3500 cal plus deficit each week
*Walk 30'000 steps / 15 miles plus each week
    * 300 min plus intentional exercise which for me is walking
    * With my back and other pain issues I have not found strength training realistic for me in past, tend to get hurt easily. I often am carrying a back pack when walking and I carry my food shopping home so am counting those as strength training for now and aim to do those 3 times plus per week.
    * Eat 75 % wholfoods across week
*I am thinking to add in some stretching exercises as baby step goals
