Just Give Me 10 Days - Round 291

Round 291
March 22 - 31, 2025
Please join us starting on 3/22 for JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, when we will begin Round 291!
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. You have only one hour to edit your post. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share. Make the board your own - track what is important for YOUR JOURNEY.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.
👍👍This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE

March 22 – 31, 2025
SW: 134.0
3/22- 132.4 so last round I got into the 133’s for a couple of days, then the tick up. But it was there. My goal this round will simply be to see how many days I can keep some sort of 132. Would like to end the round with a 132.X Yesterday, no walk, but did some elliptical and an hour machines at the gym. I am starting to get more comfortable there. Daily was solidly under, but I was not hungry. I think the caffeinated coffee I had at noon (before the gym) might have been a factor.

3/22: OK, so here I am. I'm going to ACCEPT the number on the scale and stop playing games. That means being aware of what I"m eating, choosing well and not playing games with the "little extras", because that's what's whittling away at my success.
I need to accept that, for my body, it's a very small margin of calories between losing, maintaining and gaining. The only way to "check" myself again is to start logging- it's so easy to go over. I get overly confident, then started to make excuses. WHY? It's really basic: food is fun and I want to eat what I want all the time.
But my body doesn't work that way and never did. I've had to watch my weight since childhood. I'm short, have a small frame and a low metabolism. 1,000 calories a day is where I need to be to lose (my Dr says no, but years of doing this tell me YES). 1,400 calories a day is maintenance; when I go over that, I gain weight. That's just a fact; it isn't for other people, but it is for me. And an hour of exercise burns maybe 100-150 calories, so it's not a big margin.
SO: bottom line in this ramble is that I want to be fit and feel my best. The 5ish lbs isn't the issue, my mindset is. I joined this group to help me face reality about my body and my fitness, so it's time to get back on track. Today's a great day to start.

3/22 A new day, a new start. Yesterday was a solid day. Ate less than maintenance but more than (-300 kcal) = 1350. Won my tennis match and had a relaxing day. I’ve been putting off purchasing a new laptop for several years (mine is 15+ years old!!!!). Bit the bullet and purchased a new MacBook Pro. So…. I’ll be fiddling with that for the next few days. (One addiction to the next!) Make sure to get in my 10k and lifting this morning. Headed out of town to see a friend on the end-side of ALS. Helps keep life in perspective. Good morning at the gym yesterday, otherwise most of the rest of the day was parked in front of the boob tube watching NCAA basketball. TV is a trigger for me to eat a little snick-snack here and there. Kept it to a dull roar although there was some failure.I have a 50th High School class reunion this September. (I know, some of you weren’t born yet in 1975. Maybe for some of you, your parents weren’t born yet. HA!!!)I want to be at my goal weight before that.

If I missed anyone hovering around their “goal“….
@_JeffreyD_ mentioned “project”… Handling this journey like a “project”… I forgot who gets credit for calling this a “lifestyle” I’ve never really been fond of that term from a previous experience… But … what I will share that whatever journey we are on is FOR LIFE … I will never be able to go back to, not logging, not counting, not pushing myself to new physical heights… The development of healthy habits is one of the hardest things I’ve ever strived toward … there is no goalpost. This is a lifetime journey, and it will NEVER, ever end. I choose happiness, pleasure, contentment in these “wins” & in this WOE / physical paradigm. This new paradigm takes the place of the pleasure I derive from food and drink…if I venture off the path, I know the consequences. And I don’t like them!End. My self-talk rant.

Hi, I'm Andi, 61 years old. After a lifetime of dieting (since I was 6!), I've decided to focus on a sustainable lifestyle instead. I love the idea of being part of a positive and supportive group. I actually found this by serendipity—just as I was planning to start tracking on MFP today! A 10-day challenge feels like a great, achievable way to begin.

ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND 194.2
🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀 03/22-DNW- (Trend Weight: DNW) What a Horrid way to start my Saturday. Woke up with freezing cold temps in the house again and furnace blowing cold air. I had a new Google Nest thermostat installed yesterday and they did have to shut off the breaker to the furnace for a bit. Recently when we had a power outage and furnace was off, it also quit blowing heat. . It runs and blows, but blows cold air. Sounds related to me, like the pilot won’t auto light afterward. Last time we had several days of it not wanting to stay lit once it was reset. Of course, in this rural area there are no heating and cooling parts stores. Ugh. Then….. I went to weigh this morning and my scale wouldn’t work because it needs to be charged. It always just goes from full-blast work to dark window stop with no warning! I’m charging it this morning but I’m not waiting on my coffee. I’ll weigh in tomorrow and post. I have another scale but couldn’t find it in the renovation mess. It’s packed somewhere! Today is DGS’s birthday party. It’s being held about 1 ½ hours from my house closer to where he lives. He’s turning 6. Cake, ice cream, pizza etc. will be served. It is being held at a hotel with fancy pools etc. I hope this heat issue doesn’t stop me from attending. Good luck this round my friends. I hope all my bad luck will be concentrated into today and that I will have a great round along with the rest of you. We can do this!

03/22 278.6 ouch! DH managed to leave work early (by going in at 3am) for a dentist appointment. We celebrated our evening together by going out for dinner. I made smart choices and definitely did not go wild but it was a bigger meal later in the day with lots of sodium. Also two high calorie cocktails and a few bites of dessert.
I should deflate today if I stick to plan. I’m feeling strong and committed to it. I am going to the movies today and will have to skip the popcorn. That’s the trade off for last night.
I wasn’t at my most energetic for body combat this morning but I showed up and I did it. However I did not go to strength training afterwards. I needed a rest day for strength but I’m glad I got my cardio in.
I need to increase my cardio and will probably start running as we enter my ideal running temperate 40-50 so Spring and Fall.
Off to go resist salty buttery movie popcorn. Give me strength.

@Chapter_3 Early in this journey someone somewhere said something to the affect that keto is not a diet it is a lifestyle. I latched on to that because I was tired of a few friends who kept telling me I was going to kill myself by not eating carbs. I HAVE fallen off the keto wagon in the last couple of years but I haven’t gone back up ⬆️ as far as I have come down ⬇️. I’ll just keep plugging along😁

Hi Guys - first time challenger so I hope I am doing this right :-)
SW RND 291: 168.2
I just really have lacked consistency this year and I would feel so accomplished to actually track and stay within my calorie goal for 10 days straight. Challenges are: stress, the work candy table right next to my desk, negativity and lack of self confidence, planning and prepping meals, alcohol, sugar cravings, basically every aspect of life lol! Motivations are: feeling like myself again, healthy aging, more self esteem, keeping my promises, less depression/anxiety, handling stress better, more energy to workout and garden, wearing shorts in the summer!!!
