Trying to stay mobile to 100 and beyond!

My body started to remind me that routine maintenance was required. I downloaded this app as a tool to stay motivated. Not a fan of medications and/or surgeries to fix problems that I can fix myself with diet and targeted exercise.

    Hello, and welcome!

While I don't expect to live to 100 myself - don't have the genetics for it 😉 - I absolutely do want to stay as healthy and fit as I can for as long as I can, in the context of an overall happy and balanced life. My younger self didn't necessarily do my current self every single favor possible in that regard, but I've been trying - admittedly in fits and starts - to do a better job now for my future self.

I didn't get active routinely until my late 40s/early 50s after full-bore cancer treatment had left me almost completely physically depleted, then didn't lose to a healthy weight until 59-60 . . . slow learner, I guess?

My point in saying that is to underscore that IMO too many people fall for the "I'm too old" mythology, and give up working on improvement. I'm glad to see that you're not doing that.

IME, improvement is possible at any age . . . and the results can surprise a person. I feel better and can do things now that I couldn't in my 40s. If you'd told 45-year-old me what 69-year-old me's lifestyle would be like, she wouldn't have believed you. 😆

I'm cheering for you to succeed: The quality of life improvement is worth the effort!

Hi - I am also interested in mobility as I age. I want to have flexibility, endurance, and strength as I get older so I can do the things I enjoy. I recently found posts online of a 92 year old woman that started exercising in her 60's and she is spry and strong, and was featured on the Good Morning America show. I have found Youtube videos of her and her daughter doing exercises I hadn't thought about (for example, balance exercises) and found them to be very inspiring. Good luck with your journey - I'll see you at the Centenarian 5K when we are both 100 years old. 😊
