@SummerSkier I'm glad you are still able to play tennis and are sort-of listening to your body. Fifty miles so far is great - more than I have and I'm not injured.
I hope your day went as planned @tarun_yadavA and you enjoyed yourself.
Thanks @kgirlhart . You are doing great.
Hahaha @John772016 . Glad you had a nice run.
Sorry you had to cut your run short @Mari33a . You did great though.
Hahaha @WarmJellyfish . It does look like a great day and love all the wildlife.
Nice treadmill run @Zaxa2021 ,
Hugs @AlphaHowls . Take it easy and try to not overdo. You are doing great with your running, as always.

Tippy did another fast mile walk this morning with me. It was muggy, but she did good. That mile was at a 16:12 min/mile pace. I brought her back to the room and then went for a fast mile walk on the beach. I was surprised that there was NO air moving. I thought there was always a sea breeze! That mile was at an avg pace of 15:59 min/mile, so not much faster. Walking on sand, even the hard sand, is hard though.

Afternoon all.
Got in 6.24M at 10'17.
@chris_in_cal I managed it. Just. But for all the wrong reasons I guess?
Got there, and my intention was low[er] calorie alcohol. Only hard stuff they were doing was the already mixed stuff in a can (already mixed Jack and coke, white claw) - which they were pouring into plastic cups. No way of getting diet coke and as my luck (?) would have it there was a stand doing craft beer. So Goose island IPA it was.
Anyways. I only had 4. They stopped the alcohol at 10pm - just before Sweet Caroline and then the anthems and ring walks.
Can't upload vids but 80K+ drunken men singing Sweet
7 -
(oops hit send)
...Caroline always fun!
Anyways. Main event fight was pretty one sided. 5th round KO.
Getting out of Wembley Stadium is a nightmare. Buzz totally killed / i sobered down.
Must've been at least half hour /45 mins just standing outside, penned in by police, cops on horses who were letting people go past in batches at a time to avoid overcrowding at the Tube station. Then, once on tube it was packed like sardines. Hot and sticky. Then someone in the the carriage collapsed at one of the stops, Green Park - about 6 from where I get off.
Someone pulled the emergency handle. Tube went into the station but did not stop at right place. So kinda partially in. The TFL guy doing Nightshift on the platform clearly out of his depth. People started getting angry/frustrated inside the carriage. Musta been there for a few mins but it was hot sticky, lack of fresh air. So Guys started pulling the doors open with bare hands... Broke it open & we walked out.
Then I saw the guy who had collapsed. He was dragged out. Didn't look good.
I'm like this train ain't going anywhere now. So I walked about 25-30 odd mins to Waterloo. The next stop. Lemme see sitch and catch tube from there. Got there and saw a TFL alert - incident at Green park, minor delays. I'm like no sh1 t Sherlock. Lol.
Got the tube from Waterloo to home. It was like 1ish. Buzz totally killed. Musta got in a ton of steps with all that. Happy to see said frozen veggie pizza! Lol.

Day 2975 on MFP logging streak! 💪🧐💪
Oh dear. I meant I might get 50 miles total this month. Definitely not there yet @quilteryoyo and wow you are having a great vacation with Tippy at the beach.
@AlphaHowls interesting that your post was blocked for comments about fitbit. I did not really think there was the ability to censor more than "kitten" bad words. I think your Mom is still watching over you. Hope that you are able to rest soon,
@WarmJellyfish I was really taken by the book Jurassic park and the description of the beautiful bird like dino which HOOT HOOT HOOT and then spit acid was one of my favorites. The movie was ok and the actor who played the bad guy did great in that set of scenes.
@John772016 glad you had a great run yesterday with all the smoke and other injuries it must be wonderful to finally get a day to just cruise….
@kgirlhart it is not just HOT but it's really heavy air and even before dawn it feels very stifling to me at almost 80.
I managed a 5 miler yesterday and a faster 4 miler today but will rest the rest of today as my foot is still a bit achy. 😏🤷♀️🥹 Injuries are never linear to me so I just have to keep going. I averaged 7 miles/day Jan-May so I am taking that as a good win for the year and hope to get back to that for when the weather gets better in the fall. A lot of that was 2 per runs like @Mari33a had yesterday and which I find really good to push thru. I was never going to be able to keep that up thru the whole year anyway.. LOL
@tarun_yadavA I am waiting for your report back on whether you ended up with less beer and not the whole pizza box. 😎😂🤨
7 -
@SummerSkier haha, indeed less beer... And it was store pizza in the fridge!
PS: Dilophosaurus.
The guy... Gonna have to Google... He played some comedic role in some sitcom or something. Gonna have to Google now

I didn't realize it was the Heavyweight Championship of the World boxing match! That's big time stuff. Thanks for pics. You're buzz was killed, imagine Dubois, thinking he was going to be the champ. :)

Nice run @tarun_yadavA . Too bad you couldn't upload the video. 😂 Sounds like an adventure getting home though. At least you had a good attitude about it and had the frozen pizza waiting on you.
Thanks @SummerSkier . I loved the book "Jurassic Park" a lot better than the movie, but it was okay…the first one. That guy did do a good job in that scene.
Nice running @yirara .
Thanks @Mari33a . You are doing great this month.
Great run @chris_in_cal .
Great job getting in a long run in the heat @kgirlhart !

Same as yesterday - fast mile with Tippy, then a fast mile by myself on the beach. At least there was a little bit of a breeze today.
I saw some of the family today and manage to get some pictures with the great grands. It's tough to get a good one with 7 kids. (4 weren't there today).
Can you tell the little one did NOT want her picture made. LOL
Decent one with 5 of them.
When you threw the rest in, it was pretty chaotic. 🤣
When I got back and it cooled a bit, Tippy and I took a stroll on the beach. I didn't take a picture of Tippy today, but did get a pelican diving into the ocean.

Hi all, I’ve had a hectic few weeks, starting with the weekend in Wellington for my daughter‘s ballet school that came with limited sleep, followed by the second week of the school holidays at home where my husband and two daughters were battling illness.
On Friday last week, my husband had two nights in hospital and surgery for an abscess (explaining his high temperatures and flu-like symptoms) and then spent the whole of last week lying on the couch, frowning. Should I mention that the weather this entire time has been very grey, very wet, and very windy.
Thankfully, this week the sun has returned and normal service has resumed with my husband back at work and the children back at school and everyone happy and healthy again.
Fortunately throughout this, I have managed to maintain my running, and I’ve actually seen some good improvements in my stamina and speed.
On Saturday I went to my local Parkrun and recorded my second fastest time (watch out OB, I’m coming for you), and yesterday, Sunday, I went for a lovely long 19km run while my daughter was at dance auditions. Not only did it feel comfortable the whole way, but there were no niggles or aching yesterday afternoon or even today, which amazes me.
I’ve taken a rest day today regardless and went and did a restorative yoga class instead of Pilates, which was lovely.

Morning all.
Got in 4.36M at 10'40.
@ContraryMaryMary some great running there! Glad you dodged the sickness bugs!
@Mari33a really fun atmosphere! Lucky we got decent seats. Not sure boxing lends itself to such huge stadiums. I wonder what view the people with the £50 seats had. Just be watching on the big screens I imagine.
Btw. How's your son doing now?
@chris_in_cal Usyk is such a talent. Best heavyweight since Lennox Lewis and one of the best P4P fighters of the modern era. Privilege to see him live!
By the way. You have a HUGE one near you in September. Canelo v Crawford in Vegas.
I would LOVE to go see that one!
Should see as many of these as humanly possible. Most big fights now being done in Saudi Arabia where all the money is, as they use oil money to try and promote themselves as a new Dubai type venue.

I did something to my back and couldn't run. When it was feeling fine, I should have run, and didn't. I have my bag with me to run at lunch time - provided it's not raining (I like a hot shower after a rain run, something I can't do at work!). I hope it keeps raining though, we desperately need it!
3 -
Good morning!
@quilteryoyo I can 100% attest that the ocean does not create breezes LOL. It was 55 this morning here but felt like 70 and muggy with no air. Looks like a great vacation!
@WarmJellyfish I loved my Garmin too, I used to have the Fenix 3 when I was running hard races and working with a coach. I had it set up to do everything. I looked at getting a new one since I haven't charged the battery in mine for several years and I am sure the battery is compromised. At this point I think the Oura is giving me the data I need/want until if/when I get back to running.
Not going to count weekend stuff, it isn't planned or consistent. DH and I did the 6 min VO2 test on the Oura ring, it was just power walking so not overly accurate beyond seeing a trend vs actual numbers. DH got a higher VO2 than me and he is a couch potato…Always seem to happen LOL. We finished the 1.3 mile loop though. I did notice though that the ring counts some hand movements as steps. I went to the thrift store and noticed that sorting through the racks counted as steps.
This week is much of the usual. My coach on Trainwell switched half of my exercies to machines so we will see how that goes. Not sure why I feel so intimidated. I think a lot of it is I like to stay tucked in a corner out of site..now I am in the middle of the circus LOL
No weight loss yet but keeping at it!
Have a great week!

@ContraryMaryMary I noticed how fast your Parkrun was on Strava! Fantastic!
I've managed to hit my goal for the month and not sure what running I’m going to fit in between now & end of month as we are heading for France at 5am. Starting in the Pyrenees and ending with a few days in Marseille. I really want to run around the pier for a starve map😅
@tarun_yadavA Thanks for asking. He is still much the same but the last flare up seems to have eased for moment. He has another hospital appointment with a different specialist on August 1st.

146 of 200km for the month. So far so good. Wil need to start upping the mileage ugh.
Did a 10k sunday morning in the rain. Low back was super stiff and sore again. Probably my posture but I'm wondering if it's AS showing it's head. Back to back long runs, I need to get up to speed on, it's a bit draggy, sore and stiff at the moment.
@quilteryoyo yucks on the sleep score. Awesome pic of the pelican.
@angf0679 we've turned into Vancouver rain here…..
Nice runs everyone!

Beautiful trail @WarmJellyfish, that dinosaur is pretty scary😀
Great grand kid pics @quilteryoyo! Its' funny, some of my favourite family photos are of my parents and all my sisters happy & smiling towards the camera, with one surly, unhappy little boy, staring at the camera…. Not their favourites!
My Dad, before he passed away, thanked me for ruining every family photo.
He was kidding, we've got lots of great pics, but when I was little, I didn't like pictures and did not hide it!
My condolences on your Husband's illness @ContraryMaryMary, glad he's recovered & your daughters as well!July:

6 -
I'm impressed that you were able to keep up your running AND improve @ContraryMaryMary . You had a lot going on. I'm glad everyone is feeling better!
Great run @tarun_yadavA .
Hang in there @angf0679 . Everything will come together and you'll get your running in.
I love that you are being more consistent @CMorning99 . Garmin counts hand movements too. Playing the piano really gets that count step up there. LOL But, it doesn't count when pushing a grocery cart where your hand is steady, so I figure it all is a wash in the end.
@Mari33a Congrats on meeting your goal for the month and enjoy your trip! I hope the doctor's figure out what is going on with your son!
Thanks @WarmJellyfish . I hope your back feels better.
Nice run @yirara .
Thanks @John772016 . Hahaha that you were the one that didn't want their picture taken. They do make for great photos and memories later. You're doing great with your runs.

I took Tippy for a fast mile this morning. She got tired at about 0.75 miles, but made it in 16:14 min. Since I wanted to get on the road as soon as possible, I didn't do a beach walk, but did go down for a stroll and tell the "Bye 'til next time." LOL
I was tired and it was hot after the drive, so decided against another long walk. I walked over to the Cracker Barrel and got take out for dinner. This sign tickles me every time I see it.
I guess you take your chances. 😂

I ran 6.25 miles today. My heart was heavy. My son called last night and said they'd had to put his dog to sleep. My heart just breaks for him. And I loved that dog so much. But the run helped so I was glad I got out there.
7 -
@SummerSkier that's exactly how I got sucked in! Oh there is a cute bird singing in the bushes, then loud rustling, turn to look and a foot away HISS! 🤣 never jumped so high in my life. Though it was as funny doubling over laughing just after.
4 -
That’s sad news @kgirlhart, I’m glad the run helped.
I had a fast 30mins today while my daughter danced. I wasn’t expecting it to be as fast as it was or as easy so was delighted. I did three 2km loops of the pond near the studio and managed to be successively faster each loop.
I don’t know why my running is going so well at the minute, but I’ll take it 🥳

Have a safe trip @quilteryoyo
Marymary we have to take the good times running when we can!
@kgirlhart that is hard news about your son's dog. Many hugs….
I did another 4 miler yesterday and altho I have to say i am not pain free I can feel the level of pain is decreasing each week and not getting worse, and it's the rest of me that is not used to the activity. Sore legs. LOL. But I love it. I now have 48 for the month which is more than I expected. I just wanted to really get 1 mile in every day. So unexpectedly pleased.
Chris, don't let your garmin kill you.
