5'3, 36 years old, SAHM to 3 year old twins.
301 Ending Weight: 144.2
7/10 145.8. Not what I wanted to see, but it makes sense. A bit of extra sodium with dinner last night, and TOM. Food was in calories, a short walk, no run.
Tonight, we are taking our boys to our friends' to go swimming in their pool. We'll have dinner with them, so my food will be a bit out of the norm. Who knows how that will appear on the scale tomorrow. I'm planning to be careful with portion sizes and drinks. But it's going to be fun and I'm looking forward to it.
7/11: 143.9. I'm happy with today's weigh in. We had fun with our friends last night. There was food there, but the evening didn't center around eating and drinking. My food was good yesterday, not much of a walk due to heat, but I did do a 4 mile treadmill run.
7/12: 143.1. Woo-hoo! Happy the weight is finally shifting, even if it's mostly water weight at the moment. Food was on track, just a short walk, and no run.

@iLive2Walk - A new trail every week is ambitious! I'm going to have to think about trying that. Thanks for the idea! Your pictures are beautiful!

7/10 - 128.5 -
7/11 - 127.6 (-0.9) Another good day. Went out in the afternoon (probably not the smartest choice, since it was close to 90 degrees…) to run/walk in a park while my husband played disc golf. Ran 1 slow mile, uphill for the first half, then switched to a walk for the next three miles. I did a good job staying in my calories, even factoring in ice cream for dessert after dinner. :) I'm very proud of myself for the past 2 days, but I know that I have to keep it up for way longer than 2!

7/11-139-Helping at the quilt shop for a special sale. We get fed lunch and I try to walk around as much as I can to get my steps in and it’s usually a three day thing. I can only help today and will go play pickle ball first, early this morning, drink my special protein packed drink and not eat the free lunch or the snacks offered.
7/12-137-Stuck to my plan and am glad. Off to see our adult boys and meet the parents of one of the girlfriends. Will get to see my dad too. Won’t be around a scale until Tuesday.

To our new and returning, so glad to have you all here. @MTW70 @ReignFromAshes @iLive2Walk @BrenM1985 @ldcritt (had to figure out if that was a capital I or lower case l) @ScienceofTeaching @juliehardy2025 @globalhiker and @GrandmaJackie so nice to see you back!
@Deviette weighing with clothing. You are so brave! You missed our discussion last round about WW members taking off wedding rings or stud earring. :P
@live2walk One thing I like about the 10 day challenge is it provides me the perfect time between restarts. A month is long and a week is short. Don't know if that makes sense, but I find it works so well. Love your hike photos!
@_JeffreyD_ my intro to kale is the chick-fil-a kale crunch salad. Delicious. The trick to uncooked kale is that it needs a full on massage with dressing to soften it perfectly. Do some searches on this. You might get new inspirations!
@judefit1 Glad you are catching the creep. I had the creep last summer in throughout the fall. It cost me a solid 10 lbs (maybe slightly more)
@Chapter_3 @live2walk My theory on why I find maintenance so hard is that it is BORING as heck. So hard to cheer for "I stayed the same" compared to "I lost X lbs". But it is what I need to learn how to do. At 63 (almost 64), I still have not gotten it sorted.
@ldcritt what is a BLC team? also, you mentioned how possible C was found due to pre-op testing. A friend of mine is alive today because of his heart attack. The scans checking for damage caught metastasized kidney cancer, and he would have been dead in 6 months. We are at close to 10 years now, and he is doing well.
@CamandJarvis I continue to be thinking of you and your community. Please remember to take care of yourself while caring for others!
@Corina1143 when I had newborns and would be heating a nighttime bottle (yes, back in the 80's), I would stand at the refrigerator eating until the bottle was warm. That was a habit that had to end!
@cjmvszrwqq Typing your user name is killing me. :P Glad you are enjoying the group. Welcome! (I missed you in the first comment!)
@deepwoodslady What is a shame about our person whose-name-shall-not-be-named is that his mean comment about needing therapy, might actually be something he needs. His emotions swung so wildly for a reason that made no sense to any of us, is a sincere concern to me. While I condemn the hurtful words he wrote, I am sad for him that his emotions compelled him to say such things. I do hope that he finds help that will get him to a healthier state of mind.

@ScienceofTeaching I'm retired and take Monty fir a walk every morning, so not too hard to do. Live in the small state of Connecticut, so my quest is to visit as many of the state parks I can in my lifetime. Would be nice to say I did them all.

7/10 133.0 I actually had a small serving of angel hair and fresh sourdough bread. I expected the uptick to be worse.
7/11 134.0 Late salty supper? Or continued reaction to carby dinner the night before? I’ll ride the wave 🏄♀️ 🌊 I did something to my knee just walking in the house yesterday. I plan to go to water fitness but I’m not sure about some of the exercises.
7/12 133.5 (corrected my dates) Yesterday was a good day. My knee feels better but not perfect. Will take it easy but I think I need to make a couple of loaves of bread for friends.

7/19Sister update under spoiler
I had an MRI on Wednesday. Got the results from my MRI and it’s completely normal. So normal….they had me coming in every 6 months, they told me I could cancel and just wait the full year. I’m going to wait until the genetic testing is done to decide if I will do 1 year or stay with the 6 months. But definitely a relief.
So now I can focus totally on my sister…and what’s crazy…while she understood in the appointment…I think she has forgotten. I overheard her telling someone that her doctor appointment went well and everything is ok…. I’m not going to “beat” it into her head…we will just move forward with what needs to be done.
@_JeffreyD_ Happy Belated Birthday!
@iLive2Walk @ldcritt~ Welcome! Glad you found us. @GrandmaJackie ~ Welcome back!
@CamandJarvis ~ lots of rain and thunderstorms here, flash flood warnings but I’m sure nothing like Texas! Glad your parents are fine.
@ScienceofTeaching ~ Welcome back.
@GayleKCR ~ keep closing those rings!!!
@iLive2Walk ~ your tracking is so beautiful! Of course it is!! Wouldn’t expect anything less! 😇
@deepwoodslady ~ oh, that guy! Thanks for the enlightenment.
@juliehardy2025 ~ absolutely ok to join in! Glad you’re here!
@Chapter_3 ~ hope your back is ok. Enjoy the beach. I’m sure Tucker will love it, mostly because he’s with you!
@Skyleen75 ~ kudos to you for helping your friend. Garden work is no joke! 😂
@SModa61 ~ good luck with that babysitting event. I have one coming up on Monday. Julian (5) has stayed with me but I’ve never had André (8 months) too! I’m glad it’s at my house vs theirs…will be much easier to navigate. Hope DD is okay! I agree with you on the 10 day magic timing.
@ldcritt ~ A lobster roll sounds really good. We had them in Boston a few years ago and I would go back to Boston for that reason alone!!
@globalhiker ~ good to see you back!

@juliehardy2025 Welcome to the Challenge. It's great to have you here, thanks for joining!

Restarting, after a long absence... I've found success on MFP and this group in the past and ready to do it again. I was slender and fit my entire life until menopause hit in my early 40s and have been struggling with my weight ever since. I will be doing well with my fitness and lifestyle choices and then either life stresses or recently injuries cause a set back and I gain 20 lbs. (or more) super quick. This will be my 4th time in 8 years to lose this weight. Determined to make it the last time I have to do this!
2018 SW = 172.0 lbs. End Weight = 141.5 lbs.
2022 SW = 193.9 lbs. End Weight = 143.6 lbs.
2024 SW = 165.8 lbs. End Weight = 144.6 lbs.
Start Weight on 7/6/25 = 169.7lbs. Goal Weight = Under 145 lbs. (5'4, 55-year-old female)
Goals for Round 302: I will be on vacation the last few days of this round, goal is to bank some good weight loss in the days before vacation to
hopefully
start Round 303 no higher than this round's starting weight.End Round 301: 167.7 lbs.
7/10:
167.4 lbs. I'm recovering from an injury - currently on week 5 of an expected 8-to-10-week recovery, so mostly sedentary all day, steps have dropped from my usual 10-20,000 per day to well under 2,000 daily. I have started in the last few days some non-weight baring exercises to keep my body somewhat moving but my calorie burn is obviously way down…weight loss will be slow until I can start moving again like normal but committed to persevere!
7/11:
167.4 lbs. No change on the scale from yesterday but it was a successful day none the less. Ate within my plan and seems like 5 days in, the crazy hunger of always wanting something (specifically junk) is at bay and the food noise has quieted. If nothing else, I am feeling better eating healthier!
7/12: 167.6 lbs. no reasons for a real gain, just weighed in a couple hours earlier today than usual, chalking this up to normal body fluctuations. I'm eating well and, in a deficit, and finding small ways to exercise that don't impact my injury, so these are all positive changes. Change on the scale will eventually happen, right now I'll just focus on creating sustainable life choices that work for me long term.

@ReignFromAshes , welcome!!! These 10 day health habit goals have been very helpful for me and I have been so grateful to find this group. Glad to have you join us!
Last round I ended with being very sick with a multi day bout of severe vertigo. I didn’t finish well on my goal, but did lose weight, lol. I guess that’s one benefit of vertigo…not wanting to eat too much! I’m going to restart my last 10 day goal this week with the same effort - up my intake of water to 96 ounces a day.
Good luck everyone! Progress not perfection!! Looking forward to another 10 day journey with you all.

🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 302 (my 232nd). So grateful to @Quiltingjaine to keeping this going for such a long time – thank you.
Goals for every round;
- First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
- to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
- be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
I need to remain consistent - it does work! I aim to lose a pound this round. Good luck for success everyone.
I am the driver in my life & not the passenger, I need to drive my life to a healthy life.

7/12 179.07/13 182.4 wowza!!!! This must be the result of Friday nights 3 drinks and pizza. It really stings that my new high is in the 180’s. I’ve been on a steady slow creep since December and I just can’t seem to get into a consistent drop.
I know what I need to do but I’m blatantly not doing it. This week I have a full house of company as DH and his birthday extravaganza begins. His friend group has four birthdays all together so this a week long event.
The majority of the “events” are at outside of the house so this kind of hosting is more of a glorified crash pad. Still exhausting for me but not overwhelming.4 -

A good start to the round thanks to reasonable eating and excellent exercise. I rode my bike about 19 miles; about half of it was in heart rate zone 3. The bad part was it was the heat of the day. I downed a liter of LMNT drink during the ride and immediately afterward. We belong to a CSA (community supported agriculture.) The farmer gives us a bag full of freshly picked veggies every Tuesday, based on what is ripe this week. This week had the most beautiful kale I have ever seen. That is where my appreciation for kale stops. BUT, DW stir fried it with a bunch of other veggies and it changed everything. Very delicious.
Happy Birthday to Jeff. So, I will have two opportunities for ice cream today. 😊 I hope I can maintain this number.

Continued birthday excuse for me today. I really didn’t deny myself anything yesterday. I did well with protein intake, but carbs high again. Good news is the pie is gone and so are the baked beans. I expected an increase but I will say the 2.4 pound “jump” did surprise me.7/13: 226.0

Just Give Me 10 Days – Round 302
July 10 - 19, 202563 year old female, 5’5”. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).
SW WW Sept 29, 2001 - 168.8 (initially lost 29.8, became staff, then up and down 18 years with low of 126.8)
SW MFP Sept 14, 2020 – 153 (lost 40, then stress loss if2.2 lb with low of 120.8, then stress gain)
SW MFP Jan 1, 2023 – 146.6GW Maintaining between 124 – 126 SW: 127.6 Since my weight is slowing coming back down, I’ve added back in history details INCLUDING my maintenance numbers. In January, it seemed silly including my goal was to maintain 124 – 126 when I was weighing 138. Those maintenance numbers are in sight now. Just need to get there.
SW: 128.0
7/10 – 129.0 The ice cream I bought for my sister (arriving tonight) is now gone. I guess I pre-gamed my stress eating that typically happens when she is here. She’ll be staying with us until mid-day Monday. All around, I am going to try and handle things better. Oh, I did the math. I was about 1500 calories over by the time I got done. :’(
7/11 – 128.4 Made it through yesterday fine. Planned ahead and tracked completely. I did go over my target by 100, but thoughtfully decided to. Not an uncontrolled binge. My big success was that I weighed out a portion of ice cream (gram setting on scale) and tracked it, instead to treating the whole container as a single portion, which is not uncommon for me.
7/12 – 127.6 Good to see these numbers again. I think is was round 299 that I saw them for a couple days. I handled yesterday well again. No binge eating. Again, weighed ice cream. Sister asked me what I was doing, by weighing the ice cream. I told her that I have no “stop” button, and she laughed (not a mean one). Sis and I are very different. She was voted best body AND most likely to succeed for her graduating class. I always joked that that getting both was not fair. Sis has NEVER had eating problems. Anyhow, today, I’ve got some projects and at the end of the day I am babysitting both grandkids ALONE for the first time ever. I am bringing my electric ice cream maker that has not been used in at least 10 years. Curious what a 5 and 2 year old will think of that. Last night, DD fell on a step and was at urgent care. Claim is bad sprained ankle of her right (driving) foot. Hopefully tonight is on for her and my babysitting.Have a good day all!
7/14 – 127.2 Had a good day. Closing back in on the 127.0 that I saw a couple rounds ago. Yesterday went well, though according to my tracking I did go over, but everything was accounted for. Babysitting the boys went well and gives me confidence enough to say I can do it again. :) Yay! Today is fairly busy with mom visits and working on the stuff in her apartment. I am trying to continually keep ahead of “stuff” collecting there. We are ordering pizza to be delivered to the assisted living for dinner. Two slices and that is it.

@Chapter_3 Hope your back feels ok today and that you have fantastic time a the beach. The resort sounds lovely.
@Skyleen75 I hear you with the 🍸, they get me every time. Something I haven't been able to conquer. If I stick to one I'm good, but any more than that throw caution to the wind and just eat whatever is in sight. The hard part is sticking to that one. You've got this, just keep going, never stop, one step at a time. 🫂
@SModa61 Thank you for the nice welcome. I was in a daily log in for a while, then switched to a monthly one. After a few months, realized that I definitely needed a daily accountability - my weight swings were like a see-saw. I have been searching for one that would be ok for those that reached their goal, and a couple of my Biggest Loser Challenge (BLC by the Way) Members suggested this one. I agree with you, maintenance is really a challenge to make fun. I try to make a game out of everything, the team challenges do that for me, but I still need that daily accountability. Hope you had a fantastic time with the grands. What kind of ice cream did you make?
@musicsax Wow! 10.29 miles. That's phenomenal!
@_JeffreyD_ Good for you getting back to it. The one thing I learned on this journey to to do that - persistence, not perfection is the answer.

@SModa61 - BLC is another challenge MFP offers. The acronym stands for The Biggest Loser Challenge. I'm on the Determined Desert Tortoises - best team EVER!!! @iLive2Walk, @manniecat, and @ForeverFitNHealthy are the leaders for this team. It's a 12-week challenge combining exercise, diet, and a wide variety of other subjects we work on for 3 months. We compete with other teams to see who will be the Biggest Loser. We are in Week 10 right now and will be finishing this round shortly. There is a 4-6 week break between rounds before the fall/winter round starts. Each team has a different focus for their team - some require mandatory participation. We "just do you" as we have team members with physical limitations that can't do every requirement. That's okay - just do what you can. If this interests you, feel free to check us out.
Yesterday, friends didn't end up coming as 2 of the 3 were sick. So, I got a lot of small things accomplished like weeding, spraying weed killer along fence line, bookkeeping, and went to play BINGO last night. Feeling very accomplished that I didn't snack while there!

7/12:
167.6 lbs. no reasons for a real gain, just weighed in a couple hours earlier today than usual, chalking this up to normal body fluctuations. I'm eating well and, in a deficit, and finding small ways to exercise that don't impact my injury, so these are all positive changes. Change on the scale will eventually happen, right now I'll just focus on creating sustainable life choices that work for me long term.
7/13: 167.7 lbs. Had a nice, relaxing day yesterday and got in two 20-minute floor workouts that were non-weight baring, ate within my calorie deficit and got to bed early. Today marks 1 week without any alcoholic beverages, which feels great! My plan is not to give up alcohol completely but I'm certainly limiting it during this weight loss journey. Thinking the 167.4 weigh in was the anomaly and this is an accurate weight for where I am today. Eventually the work being put in will be reflected on the scale.
