A good start to the round thanks to reasonable eating and excellent exercise. I rode my bike about 19 miles; about half of it was in heart rate zone 3. The bad part was it was the heat of the day. I downed a liter of LMNT drink during the ride and immediately afterward. We belong to a CSA (community supported agriculture.) The farmer gives us a bag full of freshly picked veggies every Tuesday, based on what is ripe this week. This week had the most beautiful kale I have ever seen. That is where my appreciation for kale stops. BUT, DW stir fried it with a bunch of other veggies and it changed everything. Very delicious.
Happy Birthday to Jeff. So, I will have two opportunities for ice cream today. 😊 I hope I can maintain this number.

Goals kicked to the curb during a carb packed birthday food fest. Now back to reality.Thank you all for the Happy Birthday wishes!

Continued birthday excuse for me today. I really didn’t deny myself anything yesterday. I did well with protein intake, but carbs high again. Good news is the pie is gone and so are the baked beans. I expected an increase but I will say the 2.4 pound “jump” did surprise me.7/13: 226.0

Amazing what a little bit of discipline will produce. Good exercise to go with a lot of sedentary reading yesterday. Trying for another day of limited damage.7/14: 224.0
✏️🎯💓
Bright side – I am lower than this round’s SW.
Dark side – my birthday celebrations trashed my ten-day average for the round.
Striving to meet ALL my goals,7/15: 223.0
✏️🎯💓
OK I have a three-day streak for meeting all goals. That has helped.I need to conserve calories during breakfast and lunch because we are having a “light dinner” at friend’s after going to the F1 movie this afternoon. They always go over the top with food so be prepared. Drinks will be involved. (I will avoid popcorn at the theater for sure.)
As the most interesting man in the world might say, “I don’t always watch racing, but when I do, it’s Formula 1.”
I need to do some serious thinking about packing for a trip to the Rockies next week.
7/16: 225.4
✏️🎯💓
I had a fantastic bike ride yesterday to go along with a terrible day if eating. I netted out fine, but the scale indicated I am full of it. Literally.F1 movie was really good.

Just chaos here with lots of company and erratic meal times. I skipped my workout yesterday but back on track today.
I’m definitely feeling bloated and off center. Doing my best to make good decisions. Most importantly I’m working on not beating myself up. Nothing good will come from that. Hating on my body won’t make it easier to lose weight. In fact it makes things wildly uncontrollable and no fun.
I can make changes without hating who I am in the moment. I want to be a better me not a different me.6 -
Just Give Me 10 Days – Round 302
July 10 - 19, 202563 year old female, 5’5”. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).
SW WW Sept 29, 2001 - 168.8 (initially lost 29.8, became staff, then up and down 18 years with low of 126.8)
SW MFP Sept 14, 2020 – 153 (lost 40, then stress loss if2.2 lb with low of 120.8, then stress gain)
SW MFP Jan 1, 2023 – 146.6GW Maintaining between 124 – 126 SW: 127.6 Since my weight is slowing coming back down, I’ve added back in history details INCLUDING my maintenance numbers. In January, it seemed silly including my goal was to maintain 124 – 126 when I was weighing 138. Those maintenance numbers are in sight now. Just need to get there.
SW: 128.0
7/10 – 129.0 The ice cream I bought for my sister (arriving tonight) is now gone. I guess I pre-gamed my stress eating that typically happens when she is here. She’ll be staying with us until mid-day Monday. All around, I am going to try and handle things better. Oh, I did the math. I was about 1500 calories over by the time I got done. :’(
7/11 – 128.4 Made it through yesterday fine. Planned ahead and tracked completely. I did go over my target by 100, but thoughtfully decided to. Not an uncontrolled binge. My big success was that I weighed out a portion of ice cream (gram setting on scale) and tracked it, instead to treating the whole container as a single portion, which is not uncommon for me.
7/12 – 127.6 Good to see these numbers again. I think is was round 299 that I saw them for a couple days. I handled yesterday well again. No binge eating. Again, weighed ice cream. Sister asked me what I was doing, by weighing the ice cream. I told her that I have no “stop” button, and she laughed (not a mean one). Sis and I are very different. She was voted best body AND most likely to succeed for her graduating class. I always joked that that getting both was not fair. Sis has NEVER had eating problems. Anyhow, today, I’ve got some projects and at the end of the day I am babysitting both grandkids ALONE for the first time ever. I am bringing my electric ice cream maker that has not been used in at least 10 years. Curious what a 5 and 2 year old will think of that. Last night, DD fell on a step and was at urgent care. Claim is bad sprained ankle of her right (driving) foot. Hopefully tonight is on for her and my babysitting.Have a good day all!
7/13 – 127.2 Had a good day. Closing back in on the 127.0 that I saw a couple rounds ago. Yesterday went well, though according to my tracking I did go over, but everything was accounted for. Babysitting the boys went well and gives me confidence enough to say I can do it again. :) Yay! Today is fairly busy with mom visits and working on the stuff in her apartment. I am trying to continually keep ahead of “stuff” collecting there. We are ordering pizza to be delivered to the assisted living for dinner. Two slices and that is it.
7/14 – 127.4 Did well (enough) yesterday. Happy with the X.4 as it is the same general number as the X.2 from yesterday. Did have two slices of a deluxe topped pizza and measured ice cream at dinner time. Was spot on. Then I saw some pretzels leftover from hubby’s Saturday fishing trip. I got into them, but stopped at about two servings, putting me over by about 250 cal for the day. I am ok with this. Sis leaves today, so I think I have handled her visit well from the point of view of not binging. NOW, I need to make sure I don’t do a POST visit binge. Yes, I have done that a number of times. Dinner tonight is at MIL’s, she is serving tripe to those that eat it. Not me. I should be ok not overeating this evening. :P
7/15 – 128.0 so yes, sis leaving did let me let loose a bit. I had eaten enough calories for the day before noon. Afternoon went well. MIL’s went well. I hardly ate from the non-tripe food, which was fine as (No surprise) I was not hungry due to my actions earlier in the day. This worked out well as I fed and played with 2 yr old DGS#2 while mom got to enjoy a meal. Came home, and was still not hungry but proceeded to get into some ice cream and most of a box of black liquorice crows. Today will be good. Busy, and hubby is eating out. I’ll sort myself. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.
7/16 – 127.6 can’t think of much interesting to say. Yesterday was fine. Could have been a little better, but reasonable.

Hello I'm Darlene, retired, 64-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). @_JeffreyD_ Oh, how I know those feelings. As Jillian Michaels says - you can't exercise you way out of a bad diet - but I always die trying!
@Deviette Two great wins - a scale win and a NSV not eating when you aren't hungry! Congrats.
@musicsax Oh those meds (and the injury) will definitely make you retain. It will shed when you finish. You'll get that med detox swish!
@MTW70 Hooray for the step win!
@stephanj I had to look up what P90X3 is, looking intimidating! Good for you.
@GrandmaJackie So glad that you are ok and that the floods did not affect you.
@Chapter_3 Glad you are having a nice time. Thanks for sharing the memory of your Mom, and wonderful that she set such a great example.

My goal for this round is to end better than I started.
SW Round 302: 216
7/10: 214
7/11: 214 - I did get my exercise in yesterday but the stress from just personal life sunk in and I binged on snacks last night. The day started off better then it ended but today is a new day.

- Didn't do much over the weekend. I loved the taste of Oath protein (the clear ones) so I bought some more before Amazon Prime days were over. This time I bought the Coconut one and it arrived yesterday. I haven't tried it yet but plan on working it into my macros today. The lemon one was so good and I pray this flavor is just as good! Trying to motivate myself into working out, I have been so tired lately. I think I may need to look into taking a B12 supplement. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good quality B12?7/15: 215 It's so odd that our weight fluctuates as much as it does. Although it's not a good feeling that the weight went up, I still like weighing everyday to help keep me accountable. I tried the Coconut Pina Colada clear protein shake and it's just as good as the lemon one! I think these will be my new favorites for a while. I only got in one 30 minute exercise yesterday. I had planned for two 30 minute sessions. I feel like I juggle so much and I am all over the place. I have plans written out and time blocked off, I just have to be more mindful of sticking to my plans. Today's schedule only allows me a 30 minute exercise session but I will see what I can do to add some additional activity.
7/16: 215 not sure why the scale is up again, I did get in my workout yesterday, it was Iron day 7 which was just shoulders so it kind of felt like I didn't get a "Good" workout because it wasn't hard. I think I may need to tighten up my food. I almost feel like I need to carry my phone around with me more in the house so if I change up a snack or add something quick to eat, I can remember to add it to my food journal. I was more active yesterday as well, seemed like I had a bit more energy and was able to get some of, if not all of, my house chores done. Being an adult sounds so boring, lol!

@Deviette regarding state of dress for weighing, what is most important is that each of us do what supports us. so glad you have found what works for you! <3
@iLive2Walk I think you are going to be disappointed by the ice cream story. Basically, DD grabbed a large pizza for the boys and myself, and my sister said she wanted to stop by and visit with them. I told her there would be pizza available. The boys and I turned set up the ice cream maker right before sitting down for the pizza. We finished the pizza, and I remove the fresh ice cream from the unit. Huge mess of drips all over the counter because I was doing it will trying to keep the boys involved yet not falling of the stool and counter. I seat the boys with their ice cream, and just then my sister arrives. Now, I am needed to help her while keeping track of the boys. As soon as she is done eating, she now wants to do this and do that, while I was struggling to clean up a bit. Anyhow, she stayed until DD and DSIL came home. They boys certainly enjoyed the engagement, but sister set the activities.
@itladyee sorry your babysitting got cancelled. :'(
@_JeffreyD_ We went to F1 movie last week. It was my first ever IMax movie. We enjoyed it. it was well done.

7/10 - 169.8 - planned my food for the day. Includes lunch w/ golf buddies as too hot/humid to golf now.
7/11 - 169.0 - local seafood market I buy from having special on lobster rolls today. I'm buying one for dinner. Planning trip to gym for Strength workout. Cardio afterwards. Going to be a good Friday!!
7/12 - 167.2 - friends coming to my house today. Beautiful day to go to the beach! Now, if I can stay away from her baked goodies. Her hubby doing some minor repairs at my house.
7/13 - 167.6 - prepping meals for the future today.
7/14 - 168.0 - book club and lunch. This sounds awful, but the member who is hosting is having memory problems. Her luncheons have not been good, so hopefully won't be a challenge not to overindulge. She doesn't want to give up hostess duties as she has enough awareness to know "something" going on within her. Other members are supporting her…..who knows what our futures will be.
7/15 - 168.6 - Spent the afternoon and evening trying to keep lunch down. I had no problem not overindulging!!

7/11-139-Helping at the quilt shop for a special sale. We get fed lunch and I try to walk around as much as I can to get my steps in and it’s usually a three day thing. I can only help today and will go play pickle ball first, early this morning, drink my special protein packed drink and not eat the free lunch or the snacks offered.
7/12-137-Stuck to my plan and am glad. Off to see our adult boys and meet the parents of one of the girlfriends. Will get to see my dad too. Won’t be around a scale until Tuesday.
7/15-138-Spent two nights at my dads (it was wonderful to see him) and had to eat out a couple of times during the trip, but made fairly wise choices and went to play pickle ball when we got home yesterday. Back on track today.
7/16-138-Took a bunch of fish out to cook and freeze to make salads, fish cakes or halibut dip out of it. Cooler weather today and I have a whole list of outside projects to work on.

Restarting, after a long absence... I've found success on MFP and this group in the past and ready to do it again. I was slender and fit my entire life until menopause hit in my early 40s and have been struggling with my weight ever since. I will be doing well with my fitness and lifestyle choices and then either life stresses or recently injuries cause a set back and I gain 20 lbs. (or more) super quick. This will be my 4th time in 8 years to lose this weight. Determined to make it the last time I have to do this!
2018 SW = 172.0 lbs. End Weight = 141.5 lbs.
2022 SW = 193.9 lbs. End Weight = 143.6 lbs.
2024 SW = 165.8 lbs. End Weight = 144.6 lbs.
Start Weight on 7/6/25 = 169.7lbs. Goal Weight = Under 145 lbs. (5'4, 55-year-old female)
Goals for Round 302: I will be on vacation the last few days of this round, goal is to bank some good weight loss in the days before vacation to
hopefully
start Round 303 no higher than this round's starting weight.End Round 301: 167.7 lbs.
7/10:
167.4 lbs. I'm recovering from an injury - currently on week 5 of an expected 8-to-10-week recovery, so mostly sedentary all day, steps have dropped from my usual 10-20,000 per day to well under 2,000 daily. I have started in the last few days some non-weight baring exercises to keep my body somewhat moving but my calorie burn is obviously way down…weight loss will be slow until I can start moving again like normal but committed to persevere!
7/11:
167.4 lbs. No change on the scale from yesterday but it was a successful day none the less. Ate within my plan and seems like 5 days in, the crazy hunger of always wanting something (specifically junk) is at bay and the food noise has quieted. If nothing else, I am feeling better eating healthier!
7/12:
167.6 lbs. no reasons for a real gain, just weighed in a couple hours earlier today than usual, chalking this up to normal body fluctuations. I'm eating well and, in a deficit, and finding small ways to exercise that don't impact my injury, so these are all positive changes. Change on the scale will eventually happen, right now I'll just focus on creating sustainable life choices that work for me long term.
7/13:
167.7 lbs. Had a nice, relaxing day yesterday and got in two 20-minute floor workouts that were non-weight baring, ate within my calorie deficit and got to bed early. Today marks 1 week without any alcoholic beverages, which feels great! My plan is not to give up alcohol completely but I'm certainly limiting it during this weight loss journey. Thinking the 167.4 weigh in was the anomaly and this is an accurate weight for where I am today. Eventually the work being put in will be reflected on the scale.
7/14: 166.5 lbs. There's that whoosh I've been looking for! I made a concerted effort to move more yesterday and tackled a bunch of laundry that needed to be put away and ended up decluttering and organizing my closet - that added in about an extra 1,000 steps to my day. The extra time on my feet seems okay on my injury, so will keep trying to get in a few more easy steps where I can.
7/15:
165.5 lbs. Yesterday was my highest step count in weeks since I injured my foot, yay! So happy to see some progress in my mobility and then even better to see it reflected on the scale :) I was "influenced" yesterday to start an arm workout program I saw on TikTok, all the posts kept saying how challenging it was but that it was only 6-7 minutes, I though how challenging could that be….turns out in fact it is! It's a 14-day workout plan, on to day 2 today.
7/16: 165.3 lbs. Yesterday was a rest day but only in regard to my workout schedule, otherwise fairly busy day! Lots of running around in the car, trying to get things done around the house, all while still trying to get my real work done (telecommute to my office). Was fairly glad when my daughter's evening activity got canceled but then I just worked late instead. Realized around 9 p.m. that I still needed to do my day 2 of 14 arm workout, so got out of bed and did that, which then afterwards led to a huge try on session of planning what I am packing for our long weekend. Even did the dreaded swimsuit try-on, wish I was 10 lbs. lighter but it is what it is…

SW Rnd 302 132.0
7/10 133.0 I actually had a small serving of angel hair and fresh sourdough bread. I expected the uptick to be worse.
7/11 134.0 Late salty supper? Or continued reaction to carby dinner the night before? I’ll ride the wave 🏄♀️ 🌊 I did something to my knee just walking in the house yesterday. I plan to go to water fitness but I’m not sure about some of the exercises.
7/12 133.5 (corrected my dates) Yesterday was a good day. My knee feels better but not perfect. Will take it easy but I think I need to make a couple of loaves of bread for friends.
7/13 132.0 I didn’t make bread yesterday. Met DD and DGGS for lunch and DSIL joined us briefly after his eye appointment.
7/14 132.0 Terrible night, couldn’t get to sleep. T-bone and asparagus for OMAD today. Need to mix up a couple of protein shakes to have on hand, if needed. Edit: Finally TMI after 3 days
7/15 132.0 I was going to see if the widow neighbor wanted to go to Golden Corral today because DH is going to lunch with our blind friend but I feel I have had my eating under control the last 2 days and I don’t want to blow it. Neighbor had mentioned that she doesn’t enjoy eating out alone.
7/16 132.0 WORST VERTIGO EVER! Bingo tonight so I hope this passes!

7/11 230 (afternoon weigh)
7/12 230.6 Late to the party. I need to rev it up to get this number moving…Based on the last few days…I’m actually happy to see it.
7/13 230 ~ got to get back to posting in the morning….Tomorrow is Monday, back to an almost normal schedule. Gotta get these numbers moving down!!!
7/14 231.2 ~ Starting the day off right, at least with a morning check-in. It's going to be a great, productive day!
7/15 230.6~ late getting in here today. My patio/landscaping is done, so my morning routine is now watering bushes and trees! And today is a workday, so there are more restrictions on time. Surprised, yet not at that number. Not…because it's where I've been hovering forever, and yes, because I got a last-minute request yesterday to join a group of old co-workers for dinner. I did and had a great time. What I didn't immediately remember is that I had hired most of them, and at some point, they all reported to me. Funny. It was a fun get-together. So a couple of drinks and a nice burger…I expected a bump on the scale..but I did hold out most of my calories for dinner. Maybe it's the dreaded delay!
7/16 232 Ah ha….there it is….yesterday wasn't a great day either. Over in calories and late dinner due to it being a work day. Today is also a work day but hoping I can get dinner on the table earlier….

07/15-191.0 -✅ (Trend Weight: 191.2) I’ve only dropped on the scale one time in the last 11 days (since 4th of July) and that was only for a hot minute. So this is very welcomed. That holiday (for some strange reason) put me on a drunken binge although no alcohol has been involved. I hope I’ve turned a corner here and will start making some progress again. I’m tired of “staggering around” when I could be making leaps and bounds!
💥💥💥 07/16-191.0 💠 - (Trend Weight: 191.1) No change in weight. Trend down a notch. I am so excited about seeing Superman tomorrow. Very tall grandsons (age 17 & 19) have chosen Golden Corral while downstate for the movie. Such a treat for rural folks like us. My DGS who is autistic (age 9) will also be going with us along with my own adult autistic son. Young DGS has only been to the movies once but is finally able to handle the sound and large colorful graphics (I think). It is going to be fun. I’ll try to be reasonable at the buffet but I know that no matter what happens it will only be a couple of days to shake it off. Honestly, the real challenge is eating bad things for four days straight every week when DD and other DGS are here. They’ve become part of my lifestyle in their current situation and I’ve got to adapt in the healthy ways that keeps me focused on my overall health and weight goals. It’s right in front of me, I see it clearly. I’ve just got to reach harder, reach farther, touch it, then grab it up and make it my own! Observation looking over my week: My meals were very good, my exercise and water much improved. However, my snacks at night were ridiculous. I really have made a pig of myself. I feel like a drowning person who sees a buoy in the water but the nighttime snacks just keep pushing me back, further and further away from that buoy, away from saving myself. It’s sink or swim!

My water intake hasn't been the absolute best, but it is significantly improved from the weekend, both in overall intake and in the lack of being in the heat/being active all day (read: I've been sitting in the AC at my desk working rather than outside in Texas heat/humidity actively moving constantly). Monday's dinner is on repeat tonight with leftovers. Yesterday's dinner leftovers will cover tomorrow. I have more than enough food for lunch tomorrow and likely Friday as well. Things are looking okay for the work week nutrition. Did do legs at the gym yesterday, upper body push day today. Tomorrow is upper body pull day and cardio on Friday. I can do hard things. Also the rain has stopped, thankfully. It was wet when waking up meaning it rained overnight but it has been clear all day thus far which is a nice relief.

@deepwoodslady sounds like a wonderful time to look forward to. As for the buffet, my trick is I allow myself one regular plate of whatever I like the best. No depriving other than no overloading. Just a concept to try, if it helps. <3

🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 302 (my 232nd). So grateful to @Quiltingjaine to keeping this going for such a long time – thank you.
Goals for every round;
- First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
- to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
- be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
I need to remain consistent - it does work! I aim to lose a pound this round. Good luck for success everyone.
I am the driver in my life & not the passenger, I need to drive my life to a healthy life.

7/10 142 – good that eating on plan is showing results, but need to stick at it. 10.43 miles walked.
7/11 143 – 6.3 miles walked.
7/12 DNW - away for the weekend in Stratford-upon-Avon. 8.93 miles walked.
7/13 DNW - 10.29 miles walked.
7/14 141.8 – 4.83 miles walked around the village before we left for home.
7/15 142.2 – 7.22 miles walked. Meeting DSs & FFs for lunch today; they are all currently doing Slimming World so it will be easy to make sensible choice from menu. Last time we went to this place I had Cajun chicken bowl which was delicious, may choose again.
7/16 142.6 – 10.02 miles walked. I didn’t have the cajun chicken salad bowl, the weather had dropped 10 degrees C & I wanted something warm– jacket potato with chilli was what I ordered. Disappointed with the number, I’m 3 days into a course of antibiotics for a badly infected insect bite, is that affecting the scales? I don’t know, but I’ll stick with it & trust the process.
7/17 142.4 – 8.8 miles walked.

I very wisely did not allow myself to get overly hungry yesterday. I made a big salad with lots of protein around 3pm while everyone was getting ready to go out for dinner. I just knew by the time it all came together it would be at least 7pm before actual food. And I was right! I’m glad I prioritized myself instead of just going with the flow of the group.
