What’s a good way to start cutting?

It’s my first time trying to cut and see if im able to reduce body fat and see if I can make it to bodybuilding. Would a low carb calorie deficit diet do? And around how long does it take you to see the results?

Low Carb can work, but your performance in the gym may suffer. Carbs give you energy to push weights. I use a calorie deficit and try to eat a minimum amount of protein (most bodybuilders seem to go with 1 gram per pound of body weight.). It will take time. Plan for about .5 to 1 pound per week... figure out how long it will take you to lose the fat you want using that.

Log your food.
Look for foods in your diary that have relatively many calories, but that aren't commensurately important to you because you find them filling, or get a good lot of needed nutrition from them.
Eat those things less often or in smaller portions until your body weight trend over a few weeks is dropping by half a pound to maybe a pound per week on average over that whole time period.
Don't be afraid to leave a few small treats in the mix just for joy, as long as your nutrition's staying reasonable on average.
Get ample protein. Get other good nutrition. Don't be surprised if you see a little performance degradation, though that's somewhat individual.
It's not essential do do some trendy named eating style. Reasonable nutrition adding up to good satiety at appropriate calories, eating food you personally enjoy, find affordable and practical - that'll work.
