Day 92—11/22— 160 - I have been working around the apartment in preparation for switching out holiday decorations. Next weekend I will be bringing out Christmas and putting away Fall things. And I have to try and pare down....I have a lot of decorations and running out of room. But many of them have sentimental memories attached so its not easy. The moving around, carrying and such is my exercise for the day.
I had scrambled eggs and a cup of milk for breakfast. Dinner is leftover Chinese.
Day 93—11/23— 159.8 - This was a lazy Sunday after all I accomplished yesterday. I feel better about my spare room. Its not perfect (I would need a garage or attic for that) but its a lot better. Food was the rest of the leftover Chinese for lunch and beef chili for dinner. I had leftover apple dumplings for dessert.
Day 94—11/24— 159 - It was a mixed day. I planned to get my daughter out of the house but just before we were ready to leave she got an email. It told her she wasn't eligible for short term disability because she never signed up for it when she was hired. She freaked out. She couldn't believe she never set that up....she had it at her last job, but somehow forgot this time. So she will get no pay for December and part of January. She no longer wanted to go out. I told my ex what happened and he will have to pay her rent any other bills for now and she will have to pay him back when she is working again. I wish I could help her, but I don't have the money.
So I went out alone....ran my errands and bought a Wawa gobble bowl for dinner. That and some grapes was my food for the day.

🎯 Started strong and then just got back into the maintain mode. Not complaining since it is lower than my last 209-211 holding pattern. But really want to strive to feeling more comfortable in a bathing suit before cruising in the South Pacific in March. Pep Talk Time! 6 months … half a year! Plenty of time to lose 20-30 pounds if I focus on 5 lbs per month … basically a pound a week. Dedicate the next 24 weeks to breaking through those mental barriers and pushing the holding pattern lower and lower. Next month’s goal … <2039/1: 209.8 / 208.4 - Yikes! Strong & Fit class

I love the variety that they offer and the meals are healthy though the portions are too big. It made it really easy to serve pork loin with butternut squash and Brussels sprouts.

I had 2 compliments that I’m trimming up (especially the legs) … due to the almost daily bike ride. My hematologist oncologist visit was cancelled for today after they tried for 3 weeks to get insurance approval for the lab work. No reason to see him if we have no lab results to review. When I switch to Medicare in October the lab work will not need approval and will be covered. I guess there is one good thing about turning 65 soon.

DH grilled a turkey last night so that we'll have lots of leftovers … turkey sausage gumbo, turkey bean soup/chili, turkey enchiladas, turkey tacos. :) We are not in charge of the turkey on Thursday … my daughter is hosting so we're responsible for a charcuterie plate, spinach Madeline, cranberry sauce, 4 bottles of wine, ham, and whatever else my daughter might need. She is hosting both of their families that are available … 17 adults and 3 children under age of 4.

Day 92—11/22— 160 - I have been working around the apartment in preparation for switching out holiday decorations. Next weekend I will be bringing out Christmas and putting away Fall things. And I have to try and pare down....I have a lot of decorations and running out of room. But many of them have sentimental memories attached so its not easy. The moving around, carrying and such is my exercise for the day.
I had scrambled eggs and a cup of milk for breakfast. Dinner is leftover Chinese.
Day 93—11/23— 159.8 - This was a lazy Sunday after all I accomplished yesterday. I feel better about my spare room. Its not perfect (I would need a garage or attic for that) but its a lot better. Food was the rest of the leftover Chinese for lunch and beef chili for dinner. I had leftover apple dumplings for dessert.
Day 94—11/24— 159 - It was a mixed day. I planned to get my daughter out of the house but just before we were ready to leave she got an email. It told her she wasn't eligible for short term disability because she never signed up for it when she was hired. She freaked out. She couldn't believe she never set that up....she had it at her last job, but somehow forgot this time. So she will get no pay for December and part of January. She no longer wanted to go out. I told my ex what happened and he will have to pay her rent any other bills for now and she will have to pay him back when she is working again. I wish I could help her, but I don't have the money.
So I went out alone....ran my errands and bought a Wawa gobble bowl for dinner. That and some grapes was my food for the day.
Day 95—11/25— 159.6 - Haven't decided on food today. But I am SOOO mad at myself! I picked up my Jardience at the pharmacy last week and when I finished my last bottle, I went to get a new one.....and I can't find them! That has never happened to me before. My memory...its frustrating! So now I have no Jardience, which helps my blood sugar. I will keep looking but at this point all I can hope is that I didn't actually throw it out....although I highly doubt I would be that absent minded.
Fire inspection tomorrow.....and its RANDOM! Which means I have to be home all day and no one may show up! Sheesh! On the day before Thanksgiving. Why can't they wait till next week??

Thoughts at the start of this round:
This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We can’t control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine. I am grateful for you all.

Last time I made this I gained weight every day until it was gone, so I ate smaller portions this time. It’s very high calorie and high carb and it’s not my favorite, but I’m proud that I’m at least trying to eat a few vegetables which makes it healthier than my usual fare.
🦃🦃🦃 Day 95—11/25--177.4 ✅ (Trend Weight: 180.0) I’m a little surprised to see the scale down another small notch. No TMI x 2. The batch-cooked red beans and rice are doing the opposite to my system than I thought it would. I’m traveling today for Thanksgiving supplies and birthday gifts for DGS turning 8. He is the one that comes to my house weekly. Long car rides and restaurants are not usually good to me. There will probably be lots of them from now through Christmas so I need to try and stay in control of the situation. I added some strength training for myself and son last night. It was a small start but I usually have to ease him into things. Certain aspects of his autism can definitely get in the way but so far he’s been a trooper.

Day 93—11/23 — 138.0 - Up early for my Sunday treat of Classical Music hour on the radio. Split yesterday, today, and tomorrow, my new schedule at my primary job. Transition week coming up, and from then on I will be getting 2 days off in a row!!
Day 94—11/24 — 136.6 - That is a welcome number. I worked 9 hours yesterday instead of my usual 6 or 7, so extra waitressing steps. Also the first 3 hours were absolutely dead, so I got 64 minutes of Fitness Marshall songs in, which I can only do if there are no customers. Those of you in the States, Thanksgiving is pretty close to Christmas. I feel like Thanksgiving is a super healthy dinner full of nutrients and also filling. Albeit, a slice of pecan pie is probably 500 calories, so I can see how the sweets could add up if over-eaten. I do like what @crochetluvr mentioned about it being a holiday to enjoy people : - ) As holidays go, I think that there are worse ones for food consumption, like Superbowl or the Grey Cup where we eat like nachos, wings, pizza and beer all day. As I write this, daylight has dawned, and there are beautiful big fluffy snowflakes coming down . Not good for lake ice if it snows before they freeze, but so beautiful to see and great for cross country skiing and stuff. Yahoo to snow over rain. It will probably melt before I go to work my split shift today. I might try to do a bit of work in my yard during my split break, we'll see.

🎯 Started strong and then just got back into the maintain mode. Not complaining since it is lower than my last 209-211 holding pattern. But really want to strive to feeling more comfortable in a bathing suit before cruising in the South Pacific in March. Pep Talk Time! 6 months … half a year! Plenty of time to lose 20-30 pounds if I focus on 5 lbs per month … basically a pound a week. I had 2 compliments that I’m trimming up (especially the legs) … due to the almost daily bike ride. My hematologist oncologist visit was cancelled for today after they tried for 3 weeks to get insurance approval for the lab work. No reason to see him if we have no lab results to review. When I switch to Medicare in October the lab work will not need approval and will be covered. I guess there is one good thing about turning 65 soon.

I moved my dad to Houston after his stroke and between me taking him to all his doctors appointments, work and traveling for work, 3 kids, hubby also had work travel, and both my sister and dad having cancer I was back up 30 lbs by June 2005. THIS TIME I'm not going to head back up the scale … it is time to continue my downward trend.Picking up my daughters girls today 3.5 and 1.5 years old since she is hosting Thanksgiving tomorrow for 20 people I thought I would get the girls out of the house … they don't have daycare today. So we are headed to the Children's Museum to play and watch the Pumpkin Chunkin Relay, lunch and then nap … Nana might need one too LOL
@deepwoodslady Thanks for the dates for our next challenge. Looks like the last 3 weeks I'll be on a cruise and won't be able to report back in until we get into the next round after it. Hmmmmm Surely hope that my habits hold up and I continue to not gain weight while traveling!!!!

Day 92—11/22: DNW – went to a craft fair & then shopping for patio furniture for our new sunroom – stopped by a brewery and had a greek salad with wood-grilled chicken – very filling and yum!

Day 94—11/24: 2017.8 – this is kind of unheard of for me – a loss on a Monday? But I guess I made enough good choices along with the bad this weekend! Or it’s a fluke, I guess I’ll find out tomorrow. Had a great weekend and looking forward to a short work-week, I definitely need a break.

Day 96—11/26—206.2 – who can make heads or tails of the scale? I’m just happy it’s heading in the right direction. Last day of work this week! Yesterday was at least a more productive day so I don't feel quite as stressed as I have the last week, and I am READY for a break!! DH and I will use the time to decorate for Christmas, which is kind of fun since it's a new house and we don't really have a "routine" here yet. I ordered some mini lighted Christmas trees for the walkway & front garden and a couple of lighted "urn fillers" for the windowbox, with some solar sort of random lighted "firework" lights that hopefully will fill everything out. DH is contemplating where to hang outside lights which cracks me up, since he does nothing but complain year after year about hanging lights outside!! I told him to skip it, the yard will still look nice but I think he feels competition with the other homes lol. We don't know quite where to put the tree in the house since there's not exactly any extra room in the LR, but I'm sure we'll come up with something. I haven't been able to work out properly for a week because of the incision where they removed the BCC from my chest, but I've at least been walking with DH in the morning and staying OP. I am about 6 pounds away from "Onederland" and I am hoping to give that to myself as a Christmas present! Or at least I'll be close...and once I get there I am determined never to leave again. You'd think I wouldn't have to learn that lesson more than once but I'm fighting hard for this one, so I think it's sunk in!!! It's kind of a relief to not have any plans or have to do any cooking, I really need to unplug my brain and just CHILL.

Didn't post yesterday. I raked leaves on Monday. Yesterday, I was a total couch potato. I didn't even join my husband when he walked the dog. In fact, I had a nap while they were out. Sometimes, you just need to listen to your body and do what it says to do. I've not been exercising to rest my joints, but honestly, they don't feel any better and I'm feeling worse. Today I'm going to exercise. IN calories have been high. Really high on Sunday (ROM and friend over for dinner day), the other days have been 150-200 calories high. Something that is really weird —- the MFP if every day were like today estimate — Monday and Tuesday gave the exact same estimate!! Monday had a caloric deficit of 400, Tuesday had a caloric surplus of 500. How on earth could the 5 week estimate from those two days be the same?
Showing a few more days than I normally show to highlight that I stayed within my IN target for 5 consecutive days, then missed for 4 days. I know I need to focus on meeting that target. I'll shoot for 6 consecutive days.

I basically eat half of the amount that I used to, and have limited eating Ribs to once every 3 months instead of once per week. I eat everything, just less of it and/or less often. I topped out at 207, at 5'2" that is not healthy at all! I joined MFP at 198lbs. Ultimate health goal for my arthritic feet is 110-118.

Day 93—11/23 — 138.0 - Up early for my Sunday treat of Classical Music hour on the radio. Split yesterday, today, and tomorrow, my new schedule at my primary job. Transition week coming up, and from then on I will be getting 2 days off in a row!!
Day 94—11/24 — 136.6 - That is a welcome number. I worked 9 hours yesterday instead of my usual 6 or 7, so extra waitressing steps. Also the first 3 hours were absolutely dead, so I got 64 minutes of Fitness Marshall songs in, which I can only do if there are no customers. Those of you in the States, Thanksgiving is pretty close to Christmas. I feel like Thanksgiving is a super healthy dinner full of nutrients and also filling. Albeit, a slice of pecan pie is probably 500 calories, so I can see how the sweets could add up if over-eaten. I do like what @crochetluvr mentioned about it being a holiday to enjoy people : - ) As holidays go, I think that there are worse ones for food consumption, like Superbowl or the Grey Cup where we eat like nachos, wings, pizza and beer all day. As I write this, daylight has dawned, and there are beautiful big fluffy snowflakes coming down . Not good for lake ice if it snows before they freeze, but so beautiful to see and great for cross country skiing and stuff. Yahoo to snow over rain. It will probably melt before I go to work my split shift today. I might try to do a bit of work in my yard during my split break, we'll see.

I got out for a beautiful walk yesterday and a friend joined me as he sometimes does. We have a 30 year age difference, but really enjoy each other's company. They have a new baby now, their eldest is 5.

The shallowest lake, which is a bird sanctuary is normally the first to freeze (and skate on) I was tickled pink to see it yesterday, yes, that is ice : - )

@Crochetluvr Re your daughter and the STD: I had something similar happen many years ago with dependent extended health and dental at my employer. When we took our kids to the dentist nothing was covered. It was part way through the year. I asked and said it was an error that we didn't add it and asked how to fix the error. My employee agreed to retroactively add the coverage. I paid the additional insurance premiums for the previous months, but got the coverage for my kids. I always say "if you don't ask, the answer is No.". I'm not saying that if your daughter were to ask that her employer would do the same, but there is not harm in asking.
So frustrating with the inspection. I hope it goes well.@Crochetluvr and @ptitejeanne Perhaps a mini challenge for the remainder of 2025 would help you both?

@dawnbgethealthy Re our Sunday dinner —> Thank you. It was good. My friend from Vancouver has her own weight journey. She's 5'11" and used to be quite heavy. She used Jenny Craig about 6-7 years ago and lost 50+ pounds (I'm guessing). Unfortunately, between work stress and Jenny Craig going out of business, she's gained most of it back. She commented that she appreciated the fact that he didn't make potatoes. We still over ate that day. The overage was alcohol and dessert…. isn't it always. I'm confident that if I could eliminate alcohol and dessert from my life that I'd be healthier and get to my goals so much faster. But I like alcohol and dessert. It is all about balance.

Regarding age differences… remember age is just a number.@bteri107 It is not a fluke —> It has been scientifically proven that increasing protein (even at the same caloric deficit) promotes weight loss. I recently watched 6 hours of a panel discussion on Diary of a CEO (DOAC) YouTube channel on women's health and they talked about the positive impact of protein.
Part 1 (3.5hours) Part 2 (2.5 hours) —> It seemed really long, but was so interesting, it was one of the very few things I've watched in a year where I wasn't also scrolling on the phone at the same time. I really paid attention for the entire 6 hours. I also watched it in 30-45 minute chunks over the course of a week.

Please send us pictures of the Christmas decorations. We don't normally decorate until much closer to Christmas. My youngest son put up his tree yesterday. It has got me chomping at wanting to do it earlier this year. Got to get my husband to get on board with that.
Re hanging lights outside —> We have some people in our neighbourhood who hang them and then leave them all year. They don't turn them on all year, but don't climb up in winter to put them up and down.
We also have a neighbour who does a whole extravaganza. They even have a website (Wild Cherry Lights). Every year they get more neighbours involved. It is a few streets away from us. My husband will not walk the dog on that street after dark once the lights go up because of all the traffic!I think I'm caught up now. Have a great day everyone!

Frank and Teri mini challenge update. I've added columns (I know not surprising at all) to add more consistency between the two of us. Two columns each for actual day and for week average. I went back to your posts on the 14th & 21st to get your individual weights to calculate your average for those weeks. Honestly, I was hoping your average was going to give you 'better' results, but it went the other way. Sorry about that. But data is data. 35 more days to make progress toward minus 4 pounds.

Day 94—11/24—146.2 I’m happy for the drop in weight but I don’t have any confidence it will hold. Yesterday, was a day of menu planning for the week and then a Costco & Safeway run. Then to the theater to support my son in their latest production: A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol.
Day 95—11/25—145.8 I haven’t seen 145 since September! Could be a fluke. Two things I’ve been doing differently: upping my protein and drinking more water. Need a good workout today.
Yesterday’s exercise (sort of): walked the dog.
Day 96—11/26—146.6 Had chili with ground turkey for dinner. I don’t know why there’s usually an uptick the day after I have a meal with beans in them. There were both kidney and black beans in the chili. Exercise yesterday really helped my mood and fatigue.

It's a rough week to reach it, but it's coming! In regards to Challenge #25 and your travel plans in the weeks prior to the end of it: You will not be able to post again until #26 anyway. Give yourself a few extra days to get some of the sodium-filled days behind you. Honestly, I would want to start with a more true weight anyway. That way you can gauge the true damages as well as the true progress going forward. Hopefully there will not be too much damage. You did so well last time. Just my honest opinion about jumping back in when it's honest and makes the most sense to you. Where will the cruise be taking you?

Thoughts at the start of this round:
This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We can’t control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine. I am grateful for you all.

Day 95—11/25--177.4 ✅ (Trend Weight: 180.0) I’m a little surprised to see the scale down another small notch. No TMI x 2. The batch-cooked red beans and rice are doing the opposite to my system than I thought it would. I’m traveling today for Thanksgiving supplies and birthday gifts for DGS turning 8. He is the one that comes to my house weekly. Long car rides and restaurants are not usually good to me. There will probably be lots of them from now through Christmas so I need to try and stay in control of the situation. I added some strength training for myself and son last night. It was a small start but I usually have to ease him into things. Certain aspects of his autism can definitely get in the way but so far he’s been a trooper.
🦃🦃🦃🦃 11/26 – DNW (Trend Weight – DNW) There is some definite travel bloat from yesterday which is likely temporary and not a true reflection of where I might be weight and fat-wise today. I’ll likely weigh tomorrow morning for more accuracy. The next 4 days holds two dinners and a birthday party which makes 3 out of 4 days not so good. That means more bloat is on the way, but the fluid retention is usually temporary. The fat gain is the real worry. We’ll see how I navigate it all. I don’t think any of my numbers will be indicative of my true self so it’s going to be tricky. I will play it by ear and take it day-by-day. My ankles and abdomen will tell me if I’m retaining fluid but I likely will be since the old ticker just doesn’t push it through like it should. I don’t think I’ll know a whole lot about how I’m truly doing until December 2nd or 3rd when it’s all over and the dust settles. There will definitely be a couple of DNW’s here. November and Thanksgiving birthdays usually result in a true weight gain for me each year and this year may end up being the same. I’ll know more about the true damages just a few days beyond it all.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
@jennysweet58 , A lot of people who are trying to lose weight only weigh once a week. The best way to monitor how your body functions and deals with different foods is to weigh every day....I never realized how your weight fluctuates from day to day for several reasons. That's why I don't worry about temporary increases because I know they ARE temporary. 🙂
Day 92—11/22— 160 - I have been working around the apartment in preparation for switching out holiday decorations. Next weekend I will be bringing out Christmas and putting away Fall things. And I have to try and pare down....I have a lot of decorations and running out of room. But many of them have sentimental memories attached so its not easy. The moving around, carrying and such is my exercise for the day.
I had scrambled eggs and a cup of milk for breakfast. Dinner is leftover Chinese.
Day 93—11/23— 159.8 - This was a lazy Sunday after all I accomplished yesterday. I feel better about my spare room. Its not perfect (I would need a garage or attic for that) but its a lot better. Food was the rest of the leftover Chinese for lunch and beef chili for dinner. I had leftover apple dumplings for dessert.
Day 94—11/24— 159 - It was a mixed day. I planned to get my daughter out of the house but just before we were ready to leave she got an email. It told her she wasn't eligible for short term disability because she never signed up for it when she was hired. She freaked out. She couldn't believe she never set that up....she had it at her last job, but somehow forgot this time. So she will get no pay for December and part of January. She no longer wanted to go out. I told my ex what happened and he will have to pay her rent any other bills for now and she will have to pay him back when she is working again. I wish I could help her, but I don't have the money.
So I went out alone....ran my errands and bought a Wawa gobble bowl for dinner. That and some grapes was my food for the day.
Day 95—11/25— 159.6 - Haven't decided on food today. But I am SOOO mad at myself! I picked up my Jardience at the pharmacy last week and when I finished my last bottle, I went to get a new one.....and I can't find them! That has never happened to me before. My memory...its frustrating! So now I have no Jardience, which helps my blood sugar. I will keep looking but at this point all I can hope is that I didn't actually throw it out....although I highly doubt I would be that absent minded.
Fire inspection tomorrow.....and its RANDOM! Which means I have to be home all day and no one may show
up! Sheesh! On the day before Thanksgiving. Why can't they wait till next week??Ok....rant over.
Day 96—11/26— 159.8 - I pulled out my iron and ironing board and pressed my new blazer and comforter, which came out of the package a wrinkled mess. I haven't ironed anything in ages but glad I still have the stuff to do it with.
Good news about my Jardience! I contacted my Dr's office and the NP there arranged to give me samples from the office....all I had to do was pick them up. So I braved the madness of the holiday traffic and got them. And the NP said she would contact my insurance to get an override which would allow me a refill by the end of December. What a lifesaver! I am extremely grateful to her.
