Low Maintenance Women

in all seriousness, no, the OP was not in the slightest bit demeaning. it was actually nice because you said more than 2% of us don't need extra help!
I found that to be the most demeaning part actually....
I don't think anyone NEEDS makeup. I wear it to look professional (which is it's own issue) and because it makes me feel good, but I don't think I look like a hideous monster without it or that require it to go about my day as usual.
I'll just link you to it: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1103866-do-you-men-really-want-a-low-maintenance-woman0 -

Take up that issue with the OP of the other thread. Her words, not mine.0 -
Ten minutes I reckon - 20 with a shower! Mind you I don't wear make-up or blow dry my hair - my face is fine as it is thanks! Brush teeth, brush hair, put on clothes, good to go :-)0
-
I can be showered, dressed and out the door in 15 minutes if I absolutely have to be.
Doing my hair consists of putting in gel and scrunching the curls.
Doing my make-up when I'm crunched for time consists of throwing on some blush, mascara and lipstick.
I can grab my jewelry on my way out of the bedroom and put it on in the car.
I typically know ahead of time what I'm going to wear out so there's no need to go through drawers and try on dozens of outfits.0 -
It was mostly the IDGAF part that makes you seem unnecessarily angry. And the OP was about women who consider themselves Low Maintenance and how long getting ready takes them. I wasn't saying that you must get ready in any allotted time nor that they cater to anyone other than you.
Ooops. Well yes, I suppose IDGAF seems a bit aggressive. I suppose I just associate it with Nicki Minaj flipping her hair back or Janelle Monae dancing across a screen.
If you weren't saying that women should meet a certain standard to be "low maintenance" or that women should be "low maintenance" then why as a bald man who I would presume doesn't wear makeup, would you care how long it takes ladies to get ready? Hmm?
Because I disagreed with the other thread's assertion that roughly 2% of women are naturally pretty enough to not need to get dolled up everyday. And just simple curiosity really. I am a little surprised that some of the women here can get ready in less time than I can.
Though, I am not sure what my lack of hair has anything to do with this thread.
you are a bald demeaning person. GTFO.0 -
I am wondering how many of you think of yourself as low maintenance in terms of getting ready. I am going to arbitrarily throw out 30 minutes to get ready, sans shower, as the low maintenance threshold. The other thread said that only 2% of women are naturally pretty enough to not need much assistance, but I disagree.
So how many of you are able to achieve this?
Personally, it COMPLETELY depends on the occasion.
If I'm going to see a movie, I can be ready in 20 minutes.
But if I'm going out for an event of some kind, birthday party, social gathering on the town.. I like to take my time and get pretty, so that's more like 45 minutes.
I don't have like a 'blanket' time I take, it just depends on what the event is, which influences how much effort I put into my appearance.0 -
Wow with 30 minutes I can even find socks that match.0
-
I can be ready in 30 minutes with a shower that includes shaving my legs, applying make up and usually drying my hair. I can't begin to imagine what takes someone so long to get ready.0
-
Funny! Seems like you been shopping in the High Maintenance Store... I know for sure I am low maintenance since I am in out and in the car in 27 minutes. That includes: S.S.S. & get my food ready...
It takes me 27 minutes just for one of the S's. You guess which!0 -
The joke in my house is that it takes my husband longer to get ready than me. After raising 3 kids while working full-time, I was
used to getting ready quickly. Still doesn't take that long. Heck 30 minutes would have been a luxury!!!0 -
You all are LIARS / Delusional. 30 mins to a woman is really 90 min real time. Take it form a guy who has spent plenty of Friday and Saturday nights waiting and "READY" to go out (even though I got ready after you were already out of the shower).
And YES you look good when you finally emerge from the bathroom but I think you would have looked the same if you only spent half the time it took you.
Maybe they were stalling because they just weren't into you.
^^ Yup.
Although I do have friends who are on the high maintenance side and take forever to get dressed.
I know how long it's going to take me to shower. I know how long it's going to take me to get ready. If I'm in the kind of mood where I just want to take my time and putz around while I get ready I tack on extra time for that.
When my husband says we are leaving to go somewhere at X time I'm ready fifteen minutes before.0 -

Being forced to shave my head every three days makes me hate women.0 -
Sans shower, I can be ready in about 15-20 minutes.0

QFT. I can even match my underwear to my outfit with 30 minutes0 -

 It takes me 30 minutes from bed to door, and that probably takes the largest share of time. Hahaha0 -
I need AT LEAST 5-20 minutes to drag my butt out of bed if it is not a boot camp morning.. 8 min shower (yes I've timed it many moons ago in a battle with roomies); 10 min get dressed and make up - if I even bother that day, and I usually don't bother blow drying my hair; 10 mins to pack lunchbox and make coffee; 5 mins to say hello/goodbye to the pets and family!
TBH though, getting up/ready for gym or bc? 5 mins wake up, 3 mins scarf down food, 4 mins in shower, 5 mins dressing :S
If I'm blow drying my hair and doing make up, add 40 minutes.0 -

Bald + dude who doesn't appear to wear makeup in thread = you wouldn't use women's hair and makeup times as a measure of how long your hair and makeup might take.
Not a bald hater. Bald heads are good for licking. It's sometimes hard to stay away from petting them when I'm on the subway.
And I will refer my anger to the other OP although I still don't really think it requires said research.0 -
I'm high maintenance from a get-ready-to-go standpoint if I'm going to work or going "out". Any other time I can be ready to roll in like 15 minutes. Maybe 20 if I gotta *kitten* before I leave.0

30 min sans shower... I have time for a 15-20 min nap in that time frame.... 30 min i'd have my shower done and all (usually about 25 min to fully get ready shower, dress, makeup and hair......)0

I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
Yeah, you sound sane.0 -
Less than ten minutes to get ready for me, unless I want to be all fancy (more than just letting my curly hair do its thing and more than just a little mascara and eyebrow filler), in which case it takes me around twenty minutes. Add 10-15 minutes for a shower, but that's it.0

But if you are still angry with me, I am sure there are ways we can burn that off.

I hit the shower at 7:20 and I'm out the door at 8:10.....0

that 30 min or hour shower says big water bill LOL0

Getting ready for what?
A normal day? I can do in 20 mins easy.
A night out? Yes I can rush it, but I don't want to, part of it is to get ready leisurely. I want a nice long bath, time to do my hair and make up slowly, enjoy a drink, listen to music, paint my nails, choose my jewellery and outfit.
ETA: every week day in one hour I: get my kids up, wash and dress the youngest as well as myself, do breakfast for 4, wash the dishes, vacumn the dining room and kitchen, make up 2 lunch boxes and put a load in the washing machine...and usually some other stuff, depending on what's necessary0 -

Pfffft!!!!
You think there's a can of worms to open with that one?
IN FOR HATE F*CKING!!!0 -
I can be out the door in 10 minutes... in a cute outfit, hair brushed, smelling pretty and makeup.....0
