"The problem with sugar is your problem with sugar"

I've seen a lot of topics posted lately regarding sugar, and thought I'd share this article I just read. It's long, but it's a very good read and provides a science- and evidence-based discussion of the carbohydrate that causes such consternation:

Enjoy, fellow sweet-toothers!

This part is priceless. Applies to soooo many people here.Jane has a sweet tooth. Jane decides she just CAN’T have sugar in the house whatsoever. She removes all temptation and swears off all “sweets” including sugar in her tea, oatmeal and even ketchup. She’s on a sugar fast. She even rejects artificial sweeteners or anything that tastes sweet to “train” her taste buds to not crave sweetness. Jane is trying to lose fat.
Jane does not lose the fat as hoped. She drops a couple lbs of water weight and can’t stop thinking about Oreos.
Jane has fallen off the wagon.
Jane recommits to start again.
Jane has no idea how to feed herself correctly with a balanced diet, so her body is constantly “hungry” and food is always a temptation in all forms.
Jane is pretty frustrated and unhappy.
Jane continues to blame sugar.
Jane stays fat.0 -
I like this article not just because i LOVE sugar.
I can't have artificial sugars and when i started the whole eat better thing and was researching and reading everything i kept coming across sugar is bad and should be swapped for this or that fake sugar if you need a sweet fix. but that doesn't work for me.
so i cam to my own conclusion that i'd worry about fitting in the calorie count on the brownie instead of the sugar count.0 -

I do not agree to most parts of this article. I'm one of those who can't have "just one bite that may or may not fit into my macro" and I hate people that love bashing other people for "lacking self control" and saying things like "a well rounded diet consisting of everything works for everyone".
I've never been fat, hell, I've never even been over-weight - and even though I today can eat carbs with moderation there was i time i couldn't. A time where eating carbs led me into a vicious binging/purging cycle that seemed to have no end. and yes - I'm feeling absolutely comfortable "blaming" the carbs for this. because they have never given me the same satisfaction and "without hunger feeling" that I've gotten from fats and proteins. Before, carbs just wanted me to eat more - despite being full.
And speaking of how many that have successfully lost weight on a low-carb diet i know I'm not alone with these feelings.
So people saying "everything is okay in moderation" just speaks for themselves-0 -
