So I went biking this morning, 24.7 miles. It was a windy day, and I'm a spoiled, flat landed, warm weather, South Floridian cyclist. But I wanted to do this ride, although I did cut out some miles out, just in case. Well, the wind was kicking my @ss and I could see my half way rest stop looming in the distance, when a pair of stray dogs came after me! I had no energy left, but what a sprint I pulled off! One of the dogs would not let up and I could feel his muzzle touching my calf at every downward stroke of my pedal! I was screaming and pedaling like a fiend! He finally tired out, and I thought I was going to break down and cry on my bike, but I kept it together, got my hyperventilation under control, and made it to my rest point. Yes, I ride alone. No I'm not stupid. I just don't like the packs of people around me.

Well, I pulled into this fruit stand very popular with cyclists, and who do I see? My husband with his team members! I was never so happy to see that man! I told him the story, he told me to take a different route home(duh!) and he left with his cronies! SMH!! Well, he did offer for me to ride with them part way, but I had just arrived as they were leaving and there was no way I could continue without a break. In fairness to my hubby, he drove to a meeting point, and rode to the fruit stand with his team, and they had a long ride back to where they started. But still :(

On the upside, I was very proud of the fact that a.) I did not get bitten, b.) I did not fall off the bike, c.) I was able to finish my ride, and d.) I rode at a pace I normally ride when there is no wind!!! Thank God for adrenaline!!

@spikesmom, woohoo, nothing like a rabid dog on your heels to get the legs pumping.

I got 28 miles in today, 25 on the bike and a 3 mile run, first run in a while so it was probably more jog than run as I had enough wind in me to moan all the way round the course.

Number 1) Northwest Oregon weather sucks and Number 2) Northwest Oregon weather really sucks! People call me a hardcore bike rider. But today even I was having issues. Rain could not make up its mind if it was going to happen or not. Wind could not make up its mind until I hit my circuit 2 mile straight stretch uphill/downhill. Thats when I hit an 18 knot headwind, and I did this circuit 3x. Had to sprint to make lights, but managed to stay upright. With that much wind I had to pack it in on a shorter ride. As I pulled into my driveway, then the rain hit. I am cold and tired, but at least I did not get wet.

    11/15 - 3.5 miles biking
    11/16 - 9.5 miles biking

    Total: 150.0 miles

Got more in today than planned.
Out this AM cycling and did 21 miles at an average of 16.4mph
Then this afternoon hubby wanted to get a ride in so of course he couldn't go without me drafting along.
We did 20.2 miles at a good pace considering the wind.
I know, i know - complain about the wind when its 74 degrees out! sorrrrry............

    So-
    November 16th - 41.2 miles
    November Total - 219.3 miles
    To Go - 130.7 miles
    Goal 350 miles

Depending where you are - there could be a few hours left for you to move those miles!
