Would you keep using MFP if it wasn't free?

Depends on the cost. If it's something negligible I probably would. Otherwise I could always keep my calories counted by myself reading food's nutritional values and using my HRM to keep track of my burns.

No, there were a few criteria when I was choosing a calorie counting site. I wanted it to be able to link up to my FB account, other apps, extensive database and it had to be FREE!

I'd find another free site or create something myself.

    No.

I tried a couple of paid sites in the past - myfooddiary.com and calorieking.com, $9 per month and $49 per year respectively. I like the controlled food databases on both sites but the forums were dead. Pay site = less members = slow forums. I prefer the liveliness here.

Not only would I not pay to use MFP, I may actually start paying to use another site. I'm deciding on the sites.

    Probably, depending on price.

There are no other free sites with a good/big enough food database, especially for UK people.

And a reason for charging would be to speed up development and iron out bugs...

No, this piece of junk has been a beta release for a decade.

Perhaps if they spent half the time moderating their food database that they spend moderating the forums, then I would consider it.

    LOL J/K still wouldn't.
