I'm making chicken curry tonight and it's SO GOOD.

2-3 pounds chicken breast or thighs
    1 diced onion
16 oz salsa or picante sauce
    2 tbs curry
Cook on low 8 hours, add 1 cup sour cream 30 minutes before it's done.

That sounds good. I'll have to try it.

    lamb bones
    red maiz
    granulated garlic
    bay leaves
    vinegar
    water
    Salt and pepper.

That's five ingredients if you don't count water and salt and pepper, which I don't.

We do pork tacos, by throwing about four pounds of butt in the crockpot with chicken broth (good for kids teeth-homemade) with chili, ginger, garlic, horseradish, and tumeric. When you get home, you can pull it, then bake blue taco shells about 3 minutes, crack open some salsa verde, shred lettuce and cheese (we like raw jack) and you're golden.

There's always roast beef, potatoes, and carrots with mushrooms, again chili, garlic, horseradish, some thyme and bob's your uncle.

Does anyone have any simple chicken hindquarter recipes? Preferably something with perhaps the chicken, maybe some vegetables, but nothing too complicated or unusual.

Also, I'm not sure if I should be covering the chicken with water
Thanks in advance for the advice.
You need to add liquid about half way up the meat, not to cover, and you must add the liquid, the juices are insufficient. In a crockpot, tubers and substantial veg is best, and add a lot of seasoning as the heat and time will do it in. Onions are always good, though they kind of dissolve, but flavor nicely. Then I would use, carrots, raw horseradish, mushrooms (dont cut them), potatoes, yes always potatoes. Not too long either, three four hours on medium for chicken, or low for all day, experiment on the:smile: weekend.

a little thanksgiving /christmas turkey leftover recipe...i debone whatever turkey is left, toss it in the crockpot with your favorite barbeque sauce, set it on high for about an hour then trim it back to low...add some water to keep the juice slightly loose..total cook time about 2.5 hours and you have some awesome pulled turkey for sandwiches.

Does anyone have recipes for the crock pot that require ground beef? Healthy recipes would be a plus. :)

Here is one of my mom crock pot recipes, it is bland if you don't spice your meat up, which I did.
    Hamburger Casserole I use a 4qt size.
    3 large potatoes (sliced)
    3 med. size carrots (slices)
2 med. onions (sliced) I used Vidalia
    2 stalks celery ( sliced)
1.5 lbs hamburger or sausage meat is you prefer
    1 can. tomato soup
    1/2 cup water

Brown meat ( add you fav. spices) I use garlic powder and Braggs 24 organic herbs and spices. Whatever floats your boat. :)
Place layers of vegetables in order given. Put meat on top of celery
Mix soup with the water and pour over the top of crock pot.
Cook on low 7-9 hrs. or high 3-4 hours.
I don't know if my cooker is hot, but 4 hours on high was enough, much longer and the dog would have had a hearty meal. lol

    Salt & pepper to taste.
