The Misinformation is Thick Around Here.

I keep reading things from people who say that "i've done my research, and decided to cut fruits out of my diet, because carbs are bad"

But then they think that olive oil and milk are health foods!!!!

And then they struggle and wonder why...

So true. So I guess long distance runners are unhealthy because they each 5000 calories, 60% carbs? Go figure.

I would have thought that this was the stupidist post of the day - if I hadn't already seen the post from the girl who worries that smoking cigarettes may have too many calories in them.

Just a FYI there are no bad foods. Individual foods need to be judged by their place in a complete diet.

it might be my coffee wearing off but i really dont understand the nature of this topic.

different things work for different people. for some getting rid of diary works for others eating 5000kcal a day works. generalizations are the works of the devil...

What's the problem with olive oil? People that do low carb diets are generally going to eat higher fat. Milk is fine if you can handle the lactose.

I think the "misinformation" is coming from a lot of different places. Coffee is bad for you, coffee is good for you, don't eat eggs, eat eggs...etc...

Also, people who are desperate to lose weight without going through the mental process of a "lifestyle change" vs "fad diet" vs "quick weight loss" do read articles with sound advice and then sometimes take things out of context. For those who are blessed with no illness but overeating and just need to log calories no matter what we eat to make sure their is a magic number we are at or under for the day, I agree, it seems like a silly post.

But for those of us who have food triggers that are brought on by certain foods, or for those people who have to watch their sugar or salt levels due to how their bodies do or don't process like a healthy person with no hormone imbalance or disease, I think the questions are very valid.

OP, can you please explain with your infinite knowledge the anomaly that is my ability to not struggle dieting eating whatever I want that achieves my macros? I'll give you a hint "ice cream, protein bars and pizza".

as the other poster said.....foods should be looked at within the scope of the entire diet.

Man needs two things (in the realm of food)....fat and protein.
    Carbs are optional.

I do a ton of milk.
I also use coconut oil, vegetable oil and at times olive oil......

My last physical and blood test back in August came back fine.....my doc just wanted me to watch my BP.

So just be smart about what you eat.

So tell us the answer wise one.

(Wonders to self if it will be something anecdotal backed up by a couple of documentaries on YouTube)

We need more than macro nutrients, we need tons of micro-nutrients. They are not optional, and many of them ONLY come in fresh plant based food.

Dude, answer the question about why some food are "bad" and other foods are "good".
