Man needs two things (in the realm of food)....fat and protein.
Carbs are optional.
Sure thing. Let me get on that belladonna and nightshade salsa.0 -

I see from your profile that you are vegan, therefore there are many different foods you will not eat or consider healthy for that reason. I think you could have mentioned this in your OP to put your statement in context IMHO0

Just to be clear, you're claiming that misinformation is bad and you're then demonizing individual food items without regard to the entire diet, is that correct? I just want to be sure I understand the post.0

The born-again vegan fanaticism is strong with this one.0

From another thread, this guy is classic
"Our bodies have satiety mechanisms that make it almost impossible to overeat on whole, natural, unprocessed foods. You could stuff your face with fruit, and sooner or later you would say something like "I'M STUFFED! NOT ANOTHER BITE!". If you stuffed yourself on donuts, or any refined concentrated nutrition-less food, you would not trip your body's satiety mechanism before eating too many calories"0 -

So, wash your vitamin down with a mug of brew?0 -
As a Vegan I would personally love to distance myself. There is nothing worse than preachy no it all vegans. They give the rest of us a bad name.0

i eat about 80% clean. Because I am so short my calorie intake is lower then say, a 5 foot 9 man. I eat pizza and hamburgers. If it fits into my calorie goal and I want it, I will eat it. Yes, I have self control, finally. No I don't eat chips, or cupcakes. But the reason I don't eat them is NOT because they are a bad food but because I would rather have dinner then one cupcake. Yes, once in a while I eat a sugar free cookie because I like cookies. The problem is not what we put in our bodies its HOW much we put in our bodies. Somewhere along the line we lost perspective on portion size. We all did or we would not be here. None of us are perfect and I know that the past diets that I have been on that were restricted helped me to fail. I would feel so guilty over the french fries I ate or the slice of pizza that I just knew I couldn't do it for the rest of my life. So having a calorie goal with unlimited choices keeps me on track. Calories in vs calories out. Yes, healthy choices are important but unlimited choices makes life a little easier for most. I try not to judge and it makes my day a little easier.0

This makes it even better. Please continue being completely predicable, OP.0 -

Given the opportunity to be a douche-bag, the OP doesn't disappoint!0 -

But we weren't talking micro, you were talking macro.
So yes, of course you need micros....0 -
I keep reading things from people who say that "i've done my research, and decided to cut fruits out of my diet, because carbs are bad"
But then they think that olive oil and milk are health foods!!!!
And then they struggle and wonder why...
Carbs are not bad but too many carbs will lead to weight gain. Take a look around next time you go to the Mall.
Fruits are good, Milk is good and so is olive oil. Eating junk is bad.
Healthy food in moderation is good.0 -

Second, all i implied was that fruit is not something to cut out of your diet, and that olive oil and milk are not health foods.
Why so much hate? Are you all so anti-fruit that you think it will burn a hole in your stomach if you eat it? Nah, i think it's that you are all so addicted to oil and dairy that you get upset with any information that contradicts the lie you have been telling yourself. It's called "cognitive dissonance"0 -
But olive oil and Milk are healthy foods - as long as you use them in a sensible way and you hit your macros :-)0

Isn't correcting somebody's grammar/spelling/command of the English language against forum rules? :bigsmile:0 -

Have you actually given any information? Must have missed it0 -

No one on here said anything about cutting out fruit.
Only you said that in your OP.
You made the assertion that milk and olive oil is somehow a bad food.....when it is not.
Plain and simple, the body needs oil/fat in it to function, no way around that.
So if you get that fat/oil from milk or olive oil, so be it.0
