I honestly feel like nightshifters have a different relationship with food than daywalkers. What do you guys think?

@jennifer_417 personally in my case, it's more the lack of regular schedule that screws with my food plan. Emergency callouts just mean I grab a bunch of stuff from the fridge and cupboards and throw it in my cooler because I'm never quite sure how long I will be there. Usually I have good stuff on my food plan around the house, but the other day I bought a bunch of on sale 'treats' that really aren't good for me. And when there is added stress from family health issues I tend to 'WTF, EAT ALL THE THINGS!' to self-soothe even though my conscious brain is going 'NOOOOO! You know that is not going to help, you will only be sorry later.' Her appointments actually turned out good, her eye surgery went very well and she is being quite cooperative right now with the followup drops, so Yaaaay for that!
Soooo, last night it was a full bag of Organic Cheddar and Horseradish Kettle Chips with large chunks of Gewurtztraminer aged cheddar (yes, cheese with wine in it - awesome), followed by 75 g of 85% Dark Chocolate. Then I slept for 10 hours, but I haven't really had enough days off due to the emergency callouts so I feel like my tank is slowly draining. I can really appreciate @sufferlandrian's situation :/ .

I feel bad for the folks going through the flooding and tornados in South US. Too mountainous to get tornados here, but back east (central Canada) they had their first one at the beginning of April.

Saw a lot of flooding in Missouri. That's right in Jennifer's neck of the woods.

Spring must be here. I've switched biking shoes from winter weight to spring weight.

    Oh yeah for sure.

Daywalkers? I feel bad for them right now since it's already 100°F at 11AM where I live. It's only going to get worse.

100F already, @Sivadee00 ? Where in hell (and I mean that literally lol) do you live?? Not my idea of spring that's for sure! Bet you're glad you work at night.

I live in the Arizona Sonoran Desert.
Hell is much more cool in comparison.
    The night shift is great.

I love the embarrassed tone in an owner's voice when you tell them the object stuck in the intestines was a pair of panties.

    60° sounds very beautiful.
Where I live, there are two seasons.
One is HOT-HOT-HOT Summer and the other is a Mild Winter that briefly goes below freezing. No snow though. Fall and spring don't exist here. Lol.

Lmao. Were they stuck in a dog? I can only imagine the look and conversation that followed. Awkward.

The dog ate the panties but they didn't make it through the intestines so we had to go in and remove them surgically.

Dogs like underwear. A pug of my BIL & SIL used to hunt out my bras from my suitcase whenever we visited them. If we hadn't seen him (Calvin) lurking about in the past few minutes, very soon he would come tearing out of the guest room with my bra in his mouth. Crazy!! We could never figure him out. I had to remember to latch my suitcase shut all the time.

It's raining here again. We keep going from drought to too much rain. The temps have been in the 80sF here but are going to drop off after the front bringing us the storms goes through.

Having worked nights and now straight days, this is so true. I don't feel like I have to eat to keep my energy levels up or eat to stay awake. I eat when I get hungry. It's also much easier to stay out of my snacks during the day.

I've got a ton of food at work tonight and all I really want is a Strawberry Blonde from Cold Stone Ice Creamery. :-)

    That sounds yummy!
One of the worst things about working nights is that there's no place open to stop and get an ice cream after work!

IHOP, Wal-Mart, and Denny's are the only few places open at this hour. None of which I like to visit because of the many drunks leaving the bars. Not safe.

One of the good things is that the only place open is Walmart. I can't go get a strawberry blonde.

Here's only part of what is happening in my neck of the woods.... Emergency Operations are in effect and we are all working night and day with 5 hour sleep periods between 12 hr shifts. It's sunny and hot for the next 4 or 5 days so there will be much more to come from rising river levels. There were hundreds of semis stuck in town all day & night as the hwys were closed in almost every direction due to slides.

I can't seem to stay awake. Even 30 hours worth of Five hour Energy drinks in a 24 hours period can't seem to do it. I think I need some sleep.

Maybe just a little. Is there any way you can take a vacation day and catch up on some sleep?
