I'll take your 7% and raise you 13. Heading off to work in a couple hours (but at least I am high enough in the company hierarchy to get the 8's instead of the 12's bwahahaha). Snowing AGAIN.0

A bit slushy on my commute in. I wish businesses would clear their sidewalks. I have one strip on a busy road that none of the businesses have cleared the walks. Half of them plowed their parking lots onto the sidewalk. How can there be so much slush when the temp is 25 degrees F. ? Hope the commute home isn't as bad.-1

I don't mind 12s anymore, I enjoy having days off in the middle of the week. I also like having a 3 day weekend every other weekend.0
-
I’ll be happy when I can go back to four 14 hour shifts and have the rest of the week off. Soon. New vet arrives at the end of May.1

Same... At the rate I'm going, I should be ready by about 2026!0 -
Getting back into biking and commuting. Man are my legs sore!0
-
Well, seems like lots of time yet before bikini season here... I might join you in 2026, Jenn.
Here's the snow pack after several days of melt & rain (refreezing at night).
Central courtyard of the University College (part of my patrol) - care for a picnic?

Wow! That's impressive. We have 40 mph winds right now with snow starting to fall. I can't tell if that wind will take all the snow away? or if the wind will settle and the new snow will accumulate. We went from 51 to 18 degrees in three hours.0

That's three nights in a row we've had to take something out of a dogs intestines. I sure hope this one does better than the one last night.0
-
Gah, that's a lot of snow!! And that drop in temp is crazy, holy hell. Maybe the 4 days of rain we have coming isn't so bad, even though my yard is muddy and my dogs are filthy.1
-
Mud dogs! LOL. My favorite. I prefer the frozen ground. The dogs track less stuff in.0

Exactly, less mess for everyone!
So, I've lost 4lbs since Monday!!

I saw your post that you lost more this week than in any single week for awhile. That's fantastic!1

Anyone else's area like this?3 -
That' looks like here two days ago.0

I'd actually prefer that to what's happening tonight. Rain and sub-30F temps made the roads a sheet of ice. There was a 1/4" of ice on my car that took a hot minute to scrape off. My windshield wipers froze up halfway to work, so I couldn't see very well, plus I forgot to scrape my driver's side rearview mirror. It's a miracle I only made it to work 15 mins late.0

That's bad! Glad we don't have the ice. I'll take cold and snow any day. Ice really sucks. Especially from freezing rain.0
-
Yeah! Eastern freezing rain is way worse than cold and snow. It's gone down to -16C here tonight. Makes my body hurt , I feel like I'm getting old. Time to morph into a snowbird maybe.0
-
You are a snow bird for Canada. You would have to summer in the Yukon and Summer in British Columbia.0

After shaving a few years of my life by sheer fear, I am stranded at a motel, because I can't get home. Ice errywhere. Cars in ditches. It's a mess.0
-
Wow! That sounds like a mess. How long is that supposed to last?0

Holeeeey Mackerel! Glad you are safe! Are you still stuck away from home or did you manage to get back later in the day? We have a couch in the office but luckily the two of us who live farthest out of town haven't had to use it yet (not together.... separately ).0 -
I'm home safe now. I think I'm gonna pack an emergency overnight bag to keep in my car just in case. The whole experience would have been a lot more tolerable if I had at least had clean underwear0
-
Just turn it inside out0
-
Life is always more tolerable with clean underwear.0

Finally came down with the cold that is going around. Going to have to take a few days off from the bike.0
-
Waiting for a big snowstorm some time tonight; lasting until Sunday morning. The mountains are expecting 15"-30" but we are only expecting 4"-8". The 50 mph winds will be the problem.0
-
So, I stopped at Walmart to pick up a couple things on my way to work last night. As I'm walking through the store, a random dude walks up to me and practically shouts, "I love a woman in uniform!" I assume he kept on walking because I basically darted around him.0
