So I gained 8 lbs on my cruise! I heard from some lady on the cruise that the average person gains 2 lbs per day. So...since I was on a 9 day cruise I really should have gained 18 lbs then right? So I did GREAT! LOL I had figured I would gain at least 5 lbs, so I'm not freaking out. I worked out every day except for the last day because we had to get off the ship. I worked out at least an hour each day & even 2 1/2 hours one sea day. I did lots of snorkeling & jumping ocean waves - I know that burned some more calories as well. Lots & lots of walking & I even took the stairs the majority of the time on the ship! I did a ton of dancing one night in HEELS and boy did my calves feel it for THREE DAYS after that!

Anyway - I ate whatever I wanted and had a great time. I'm sure most of what I gained is just water weight. I'm not fretting over it. I got back on the horse & went to the gym tonight for Zumba & also worked out on the elliptical for a bit.

Tomorrow I go see my doc for my 6 mo checkup. I'm sure he will be VERY pleased with my progress so far.

Good morning everyone! I can't believe half the work week has past me by and I've not posted very much. This will be another quick post b/c this special assignment is kicking my tail and it MUST be completed by today. Monday, I completed the Push Circuit 3 dvd from the Chalean Extreme series, Tuesday, I completed a Cardio dvd from the Kettleworx series and Today I completed the Resistance dvd from the Kettleworx series. I'm unsure if I'm going to keep the Kettleworx series or not b/c there's parts of it I already don't like BUT I do enjoy the fact that it's a full body workout and it's a little less than 30 minutes. I'll do a few more workouts before I make a definitive decision.

Wow! A few days of not sticking to the diet and eating out a couple times(even though I divided my portion in half) Look what happens. Hopefully its from the extra sodium and by drinking more water I will get rid of this quickly.

Well I was down to 210.0 yesterday but back up to 212.0 today. Yesterday was my birthday, so I ate a lot - it was a food fest here at work, then I had pizza with my family last night. PLUS I didn't work out at all yesterday! Oh well :ohwell: I only turn 39 once!

Anyway - my appt with my doc on Wednesday went better than I expected! According to his records I've lost 48 pounds in 6 months! :noway: WOWSA - I guess my starting weight was more than I had thought! Anyway - my cholesterol is finally normal! My triglycerides are the lowest they've been in 10 years! My sugar is normal as well! My kidneys, liver, & thyroid are all normal too. Doc is SO happy with me he shook my hand 6 times & said I have nothing to tell you...keep doing what you are doing!

I knew I would start to slow down soon, I just didn't think it would happen now, but that's ok. I'm gonna just keep pushing on. Winter is coming up and I know it gets even harder with all that comfort food around and without a gym membership, it will be a little harder to get in exercise unless I wanna freeze..anyway, I woke up yesterday with a sore throat, didn't do much for exercise due to a rehersal dinner for my friends wedding and I was helping decorate for a while yesterday. Carrying large mums and pumpkins everywhere.. Today is their big day and I can't wait. Even though I'm feeling kinda blah, I still plan to dance much of the night away. I bought a new dress and I'm a little nervous about wearing it b/c most of the people at this wedding are my guy friends who've only seen me muddied (is that a word?! It is now!) up from 4 wheelin in jeans and tshirts or hoodies and sneakers.... so I'll either have them awkwardly stare or laugh b/c I'm out of my element or they won't notice.. hopefully they don't notice ;) Have a wonderful weekend all!

I HURT, I HURT, I HURT.....TOM is really kicking my tail this month. I had a meeting this afternoon that lasted a lot longer than I anticipated and I was in soooooo much pain. I was on my way back to the house when I realized I hadn't completed my workout for today. I was so thankful I had some workout clothes in the care b/c I pulled over to the side of the road and changed out of my shirt, jeans and heels and into my tank top, jogging pants and sneakers. I got out the car and walked a total of 1.2 miles. I tried to walk as fast as possible but I was experiencing so much pain in my lower back and hips that it just wasn't possible.

I have now made it home, taken some pain medication and hope to be sleeping soon.

Oh! That's horrible! I don't know if it will work for you, but if you can put pressure on the spinous process, (the bony part of the vertebrae in your back) at the level of L5, it can help. To find L5, the top of your hips, if you put your hands on them with the thumbs on your back, the bony part that sticks out in the middle of your back is L4. L5 should be the next bony part below it about 3/4"-1" down. Just push in on the bone for about 90 seconds, use a tennis ball if need be, and it might help relieve the pressure.

Good evening everyone! What a difference a couple of days makes b/c I feel 10x better than I did yesterday and Saturday. I'm still not a 100% but did not have to spend the day in the bed some i'm grateful. A friend of mine let me borrow her Hip Hop Abs dvds because I was considering purchasing them so today I completed the Total Body Burn dvd. I'm going to check out a few more dvd before I make a decision.

Well, it's a big loss. However, I pretty sure that the stomach flu is NOT the recommended way to lose weight! I started feeling sick Friday evening, and I'm still not quite up to par. All I ate Saturday and Sunday was chicken noodle soup. Today I had soup for lunch, and a regular dinner. So far so good! Hopefully I can keep at least half of my loss.

I am so glad every is doing so well. I am having some issues. I'm working through most of them, I think. Stress is not my friend and weekends have been killing me. Too much sodium and not enough veggies. I know most people dread the holiday season, but that is when my schedule actually starts to slow down a bit (until February anyway!).

    Here's to good choices!:drinker:

Ok...I am beginning to get discouraged and extremely frustrated. Four weeks on this plateau is really starting to take it's toll. I am thankful that I haven't gained anything back but GRRRRRRR! I have changed my routine, I have eaten my calories, I have not eaten all my calories, I have exercised in the morning and I have exercised at night. I'm truly at a loss as to what to do next. Patience was never one of my strong suits but I am REALLY trying to not get discouraged. At this rate I won't make my mini goal for the New Year.

Good afternoon everyone! I'm am almost back to my normal self so I was able to rock out today's workout. Today I completed the Billy Blank's Cardio Bootcamp dvd from the Taebo series. I really like this workout because Billy has you using resistance bands while performing the kicks and punches and it gives you a great burn. We also did a lot of jumping rope, jumping jacks, push ups, sit ups, tricep kickbacks and dips. I may have to check out a few more of his dvds to see if he'll be my new trainer.

I thought it would come off a lot faster than it has, however I really haven't been killin it in my workouts like I used to. I am still however feeling GREAT! Today I'm rockin the size 14 skinny jeans & a cute, cute, cute wrap around satin blouse that I bought about 3 years ago & couldn't even fit over my head! Its VERY fitted to my waist & everyone here at work has complimented me on it! YAY ME! My boss even said "Good morning Skinny Lady" to me! He SO made my morning first thing! :blushing:

Good afternoon all and Happy hump day! Today I completed another Billy Blank's workout. It's called Billy Blank's boot camp. It's similar to yesterday workout except it's longer and resistance bands are not used. I really worked up a sweat on that one.

Kintegra: Way to rock those skinny jeans and wrap blouse.....sounds really nice. Compliments are definitely the best....they keep me motivated....lol.....Great job and please keep it up.

No offense meant to you at all, but I don't understand the sizing of jeans!! I'm in the 150s and I'm in a size 14. I think it must be due to my belly which I'm not happy with at all. I've started doing some sit-ups but I seriously need to tone that area. It's so cool when people start to notice!! Good luck to you!!

Hi, my DD had hip surgery last spring and her rehab exercises took her from a size 14 to a size 8 all while she gained 2 pounds. They are really easy core/ab exercises. If you want me to sent them to you, pm me. We call them GutNBut and many here have had success with them including me. Since they are for post surgery patients they are designed to be done slowly and no impact.

I think its bone size. I was in a size 14 all thru college & weighed between 160-165. I'm pretty sure that I won't get in a smaller size jeans, even after I lose to my goal - another 50 lbs. My mother weighs around 165 now & is in a size 16 jeans. :ohwell:

I hear ya! Of course, everyone is built differently and stores fat in different spots.. but still, it's a pain! You may want to get 30 day shred a shot, it's a dvd at Walmart for $9. I'm not trying to gloat or force anyone to get it and I know everyone's resuls will vary, but I did it for 16day straight and I lost 9in in total. That's measuring neck, arms, chest, waist, belly button, belly 'pooch', hips, thighs and calves. I measured the day I started, and the day 15. I've since slacked on it due to real life problems, but I plan to pick it back up soon and finish off my last 2weeks and measure again.

    Hi Everyone!

Haven't been around much due to technical problems for the past week and a half. Monday I decided to just close my account and start over. So I have a new name now. I've been busy re-entering all my foods and exercises. :grumble:

Im happy to see a loss. I haven't had a food diary and I've been very frustrated and discouraged lately.

Hang in there everyone. It gets tough for all of us once in awhile. Its nice to know you can come to this site for support isn't it?
Stay strong this weekend with the Halloween candy bowls sitting in front of you.

    See you all next week!
