Being a vegetarian, I've always been good with fruits and veggies but with the stress of moving this past month I had totally slipped into almost no produce land! The F/V challenge has been amazing. I rekindled my love of grapefruit and the apples are in season and lovely and I made the most wonderful stir fry last night, yum! Thanks for coming up with the challenge, it's helping me a lot! I'm actually excited about weigh in on Monday, I'm so temped to weigh now and check because I feel so good but I'll be patient and wait.
Keep on rockin it! See you Monday!0 -

yesterday i went 610 calories over my 1200 budget......I have to explain about the mcflurry, I know it's not a good excuse, but I had a 13 min break at job. Worked from 4:30 pm til 10:15 pm. NOT COMPLAINNG AT ALL...we were slammed...they had me in several places throughout the day...drive thru taking both orders and cash...then a few hours later switched me from drive thru to taking orders in the lobby....then after a lil bit switched me back over to drive thru...me personally i prefer drive thru over ANYTHING ELSE there....I'M LOVING IT....LOL...so after i got off work, one of my friends wanted a mcflurry....SOOOOO I decided you know that sounds like a great way to end my day...lol...so i got snack size Reese's flurry.
Then, when I get home my buddy had BBQ and I just COULD NOT say no to that...lol....I didn't even bother counting...didn't bother measuring or ANYTHING...LOL...anyways i can just count this day as ONE of my cheat days....lol...AFTER ALL my cheat days is the weekend...lol

60 MINS WALKING0 -
Hello everyone!
This weekend have been difficult for me with not getting enough exercise, & I was eating some junk food, so tomorrow my weigh in results maybe not be good.
'
Good luck everyone on the weigh in tomorrow!

Hello all,
Hope you all have had a fabulous weekend!!
I was really hoping to say good-bye to the 220's this morning but I'll take the 2.6 weight loss and be darn happy about it!
Not doing so well on the veggie challenege. It has really opened my eyes about how much I DON'T eat. I am averaging about 2-3 a day but would really like to up that so will focus on that after a trip to the grocery store. My only problem is that we shop for a whole month and if I buy fresh it will inevitably go bad before the month is over. I'm buying frozen and really hate using canned because of all the sodium. So...I will find more frozen that is easy to cook and quick. With two teenagers that seem to be on the go 24/7 it is tough to fit in homemade dinners. I've had to make it a priority that we eat dinner at a decent time, much to their displeasure! Ah well...I shall focus on the veggies and fruit (smoothies are a great way to work those in!) and making sure I fit them in.
Do you guys realize that Christmas is only 13 weeks away???? YIKES!!

PS....Lisa, I'm sorry to hear about your sister going through the bite situation. I can so relate to what she is going through. I was biten by a brown recluse 10 years ago and by the time I got to the docs office it was the size of a softball. After numerous antibiotics, steroids and some sort of medication that they give people with leprosy, it finally cleared up. I still have a scar on my thigh where it bit me and strangely enough....the scar looks like a SPIDER! And even more strange...I was bit on Halloween night. Well...that was strange to my kids who were freaking out about how bad it looked. Tell her to hang in there...it is a scary situation and I had no idea the damage one of those things could do till the doctor scared me to death. Luckily they are better equipped to handle those things these days. I'll keep all of you in my prayers and hope that it clears up quickly with no side effects from the bite OR the meds!!0

Lori-
Fall is a time for squash. Pumpkin, spagetti, yellow, acorn, etc. They will keep for a long time. Pumpking pie made without the pie crust isn't so bad calorie wise. Zuchini will also keep for a while and is very good when stir fried with bean sprouts.
I'm bad with veggies all the time, so I feel your pain.

Jeannie, I didn't even think about that but you are right! I can honestly say, other than pumpkin pie, that I have never cooked with Pumpkin. I think I will make a post and see if folks can give us some good recipes for different squash. I'll post the thread here in case anyone misses it but I, for one, would love to incorporate more in my diet!

Ok, really doesn't suprise me. I know what I need to do. I've really slacked off on the exercise for the last few days and have caved into my picking urges. Its Monday, brand new week ready to pick up where I left off.0 -
Lori - speaking of pumpkin - Here is a link I found
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/122622-pumpkin-for-the-fall
I think I will try some of these and cook our pumpkin down this year and just add spices.

Well the scale is still going down at least. But I'm happy - I had to go get some new jeans at Old Navy yesterday & last year I was wearing size 20. Today I'm fitting very comfortably in size 14 Skinny jeans! I'm thinking size 12 will be soon, so I only bought a couple pair! :bigsmile:0 -
