I came across it and I loled hard.
How would those of you who are feminist respond to the paradox of this criticism? Just curious. I thought the analogy really fleshed out the parallels between the media and self perception in a well played manner. It was quite the zinger in my opinion haha.

Uhh first problem is that this isn't parodying feminism. Feminism is the strive for gender equality in society today. This seems to be a parody of the body acceptance movement.0

Beyond just the fact those themes are interrelated, there is also more allegory there than you yourself might have initially assessed0 -

Yeah, this doesn't parody feminism. Might want to double-check your issues before you make statements about them and "lol hard", brah.0 -
I like mine with lettuce and tomato.....Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes. A big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer.0

I don't understand what this has to do with feminism...0

10/10 would eat both burgers
Yep, indeed
OP, I see zero correlation with feminism in this picture. I see the parody of body acceptance easily. For what it's worth, I'd hit both. In 5 seconds. Then I'd log the calories and move on.0 -
I need feminism because women aren't burgers.0

Says the dude who started a topic wanting input only from women. Are you new to the internet? FYI, men can also be feminists.
p.s. I'd eat both burgers0 -
Ooooh... count me in for burgers!!!

I am here to trivialize the depth's of OP enchanted forest.0

I think you're pointing right at the issue without realizing it.
That hamburger is an object. It is one dimensional.
Women are subjects. When you compare the images in the media with images of real women, you're treating them as objects or one-dimensional things. The thing that makes the "real woman" beautiful isn't that she's more aesthetically pleasing, it's that she's not an object. The "real woman" is a subject with a multi-dimesional personality and life. Her looks reflect the life she's lived and her experiences.
The hamburger exists for your pleasure and enjoyment. The woman belongs to herself and her appearance is not for you.0 -

Don't try to impress me with your posse of friend-zoned betas lol
Just trying to get the perspective of women who are true feminists to see how they would tackle this criticism or what their response would be? How do you explain this one? -Is what I am asking.0 -
The burger on the right seems more depressed than oppressed.0
