Yesss. Yesterday was my birthday, and I got the potato from Portal 2, and the cake from portal, actually, two halves of one, being put through a portal. Pretty amazing. Gaming, anime, manga, cosplaying, everything geeky. Lol.

I think I might fall into the "nerd" category, which suits me just fine.

I love sci fi and fantasy, and prefer it in book form. For sci fi and spec fiction I read a lot of Bear, Heinlein, P.F. Hamilton, Simmons, and anything anything Stephenson I can get my hands on (in the middle of The Confusion right now). I'm thinking of making the spring for Audible so I can listen to books during my workouts.

Nice to meet some fellow nerds/geeks!

Do you make a difference between fantasy and sci fi even though the world lumps them together?

My Goodreads account makes sure I drive that difference home. :P

    Let's see ...

    - Comic Books (DC mostly, Legion of Super-Heroes especially. If you're a LoSH fan, let's be best friends!)
    - Anime (not as much as when I was a kid, but the interest is still there)
    - Stargate (mostly only SG-1)
    - Star Trek (Enterprise was totally the best series. Blasphemy? Pssh!)
    - Doctor Who (NuWho mostly)
    - Cosplay (Not as much any longer, but I still have a totally baller Krypto the Superdog costume.)
    - Table Top RPG (Vampire: the Masquerade, Kult, etc)
    - BBQ (Trust me, when you're as into smoking meat as this guy, it becomes a geek thing)

And pretty much all kinds of other totally geeky stuff.

If you have ever erected a makeshift shanty so you can BBQ in the snow...you might be a BBQ geek.

Oh wait...totally have done that on many occasions.

Trolling, Interneting, LARP, D&D, Netflix, Anime. Hoping to do some hardcore cosplay when I finish dieting etc...
I heard BBQ mentioned? I'm a massive carnivore, if I didn't want a smoking hot bod I'd eat Man vs. Food style daily.

My friend, I believe that makes us brothers.

Someone's got to smoke the Thanksgiving Turkey, snow or below freezing temperatures be damned!

    Ha! Right there with you.

I learned to smoke turkey so that I can lose weight while still eating incredible hickory smoked meat!

Got my various types of wood, my wireless remote temperature gages, charcoal chimney, etc ... anyone that thinks smoking meat isn't a total geek endeavor is doing it wrong.
