Brown Crowder peas, cucumber, tomato, onion and pepper salad. This was the first full picking of the Crowders. We put 2 quarts and 3 pints in the freezer, and had enough for supper. Everything in the salad was from the garden too.

Also a couple of new twists to old desserts. I used less Cool Whip and added Greek yogurt. Greek peachy vanilla frozen dessert, and Greek chocolate pudding. I'll post the recipes later.

This is from a few nights ago - Lemon Basil Grilled Chicken Pasta (Pioneer Woman recipe) with asparagus. Also got to use some of the basil that is going crazy in my garden right now!

That looks really good. I will have to remember to use some of the basil growing in my garden. A friend of mine gave me a few cups with cilantro growing in them. After I transplanted them, the cilantro died, but basil came up in it's place.

Here is the recipe for Larro's {1st try @} Greek peachy vanilla frozen dessert:

2 {6 oz} Yoplait Lite Very Vanilla yogurt
    6 oz vanilla Greek yogurt
    4 oz lite Cool Whip
.3 oz containter of sugar free Peach Jello
    1/4 cup water

Boil water and pour in glass mixing bowl with jello. Wisk until all the lumps are dissolved. Add Yoplait yogurt, wisk, add cool whip, wisk, add Greek yogurt, wisk. Pour in 9X9 baking dish, shake to level, cover with plastic wrap and put in freezer. Makes 8 servings. I was pretty happy with this one. It did take longer to freeze than the old style, but it is easier to cut.

And here is Larro's {1st try @} Greek chocolate pudding:

    1 1/2 cup 2% milk
2.1 oz package chocolate Jell-o Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
    3 oz Lite Cool Whip
    3 oz Greek Vanilla Yogurt

Pour milk in glass mixing bowl, add Jell-o, wisk, add Cool Whip, wisk, add Greek yogurt, wisk. It was hard to get this one evenly mixed. It was a little too dense. Next time we will add a cup of water along with the milk. But it was very good.

Homemade black eyed peas (cooked with crushed tomatoes, onion, garlic, carrots, and salt and pepper) reheated with chopped fresh spinach, halved cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, raisins, pepita seeds, and parm cheese. Side of Armenian cucumber slices.

black eyed peas! I'm heading to the store. Ah, if I could only make them like my mother, a Southerner.

I never have good luck with cilantro - I don't understand it. Everyone says it is too hot here (Missouri) to grow it, but that makes no sense since I am pretty sure it grows well in Mexico....

Larro - your garden must be a sight to behold. I am always amazed at how many of your creations come straight from your garden. We just have herbs, jalapenos, and some tomato plants that aren't producing at all this year. One of these years I am going to step up to other vegetables...

My son adores the Quiznos Honey Mustard Chicken with bacon and onions.... well we no longer have a Quiznos near us, and I am in the mood for something different, so that is what's for dinner tonight (with my own twists of course  )
