    We went to Beef Obrady's. It was good, but it feels like a ton of bricks sitting in my stomach now. I had the 1/2 Cuban and French Onion soup, some Garlic Parm boneless wings, and {not pictured} three of Margie's curly fries. {I started eating before I thought of pictures. The soup looked much better before that}

    Chicken breast marinated in tomatoes, artichoke hearts, garlic, basil and oregano. Served on brown rice with a side of fresh peas. :happy:

    No photos as it's not done yet, but we're braising beef short ribs with a nice spice rub and… basically whatever fresh veggies were in the fridge, so zucchini, onions, celery, carrots, and some mixed braising greens (mostly kale), plus the nice local tomatoes that were closest to going bad from the bowl on the counter, and some beef broth. No extra fat - sautéed the onions in the fat left behind from browning the ribs.

    Dunno about sides yet - there's some leftover quinoa in the fridge, or there's some homemade whole-grain bread (though I've had plenty of that today), or I might just eat half the pot with no accompaniment.

    I had a family reunion at work, and had way too much lunch. So the plan was for a light supper. I had bought a new kind of roll and sliced one of them for a sandwich. It was ham and turkey cold cuts, and fried chicken breast and baked ham, with Colby Jack cheese, tomato and onion. Also had green beans and stir-fry veggies. It was bigger than I thought it would be, but very good.

    And even though I had to get back on the stationary bike and Gazelle after supper to pay for it, I had ice cream and some of the Greek cheesecake pudding. It was worth the extra work.

    I haven't made it that far into planning yet. I kinda "forgot" to bring my dry erase board over here to the couch. So when I get around to it, I will definitely post it.

    I guess Margie got her holidays mixed up. Turkey, cranberry sauce, rice and gravy, slaw, peas and a spinach fruit salad. It must have been good. Even my mom complemented her. {ha ha}

    Another new Low Sugar Pudding tonight. Greek lemon this time. 18oz 2% milk, 4oz water, 2oz Jello Instant Sugar Free Lemon Pudding and Pie Filling, 49g Cool Whip, 150g Plain Greek yogurt, 75g Vanilla Greek yogurt. 70 calories, 9g carbs, 2g fat, 4g protein, 93mg sodium, 5g sugar per 100g serving. {I add water as needed to make it come out to a multiple of 100g. It is so much easier to log with 100g serving size}

    Had a cup of homemade chicken/noodle/veggie soup (chicken, carrots, brussel sprouts, onions, garlic, new potatoes, fresh corn cut off the cob, noodles) . I have a cold and I always crave this stuff when I'm sick.

    Is it messed up that I find this thread more inspiring than the "Success stories" thread?

    Tonight I'm having home-made beef noodle soup to use up the insane amount of Brisket we have frozen after the last huge roast I did.
