    Morning Ladies,

Started the morning with a treadmill HIIT run and then added some leg exercises to complete a short 4o minute routine. Today I'm cooking for the in-laws then it is off to Georgia to meet my family.

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and safe travel to those of you traveling to loved ones. Hoping to keep the calories in check and not indulge too much with meals:blushing:

Laurel- Enjoy your 1st Christmas in the new house:flowerforyou:

Laurie- Hopefully Santa brought you all of those dvds:wink: hopefully me too:laugh:

Erika- P57 will hopefully bring great changes to that lower body plus the rotation sounds great. Enjoy your day with the boys and hubby.

Tami- Happy Holidays and enjoy the day with your family. I can't wait to see your new rotation.

    Hi Ladies ~

Spinning was good last night. We had a substitute instructor and he does “name that tune” and you get a Power Bar or whatever he is handing out. Well I won 1 out of the 2!  Very funny. My friend who is always next to me gets all the songs every time. Well this was an “older” hit and she doesn’t know those quite as well, yes she is in her 20’s. It was Eye of the Tiger – Survivor. So it was pretty funny!

This a.m. I did a pre-mix I have never done (lots of them out there:wink: ) it was 4DS KickBox + Heavy Legs – it was about 68 min long and a great workout. I had Legs scheduled so it covered that pretty good + had the cardio factor w/ KB. It will be one I re-visit again sometime forsure. Planning on hitting the Spin bike again tonight after work.

Laurel: I bet you were a little bit tired. You have had some great workouts.:noway: I have always wondered about the Terminator DVD. The name alone says it all sounds like!??! I bet it feels nice to get the house all clean. I am planning on doing that tomorrow evening after work. I will have to try that pre-mix on LBB next time forsure. I hope you and your DH have a fantastic Christmas if I don’t get to chat with you tomorrow. :flowerforyou: Do the two of you have any special plans?

Michelle: Your treadmill HiiT workout + legs sounds like it was good! Very fun that you are cooking for the in-laws, I bet it will be amazing! Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas to you too. :flowerforyou: Safe travels to Georgia.
I am also planning on keeping the calories in check and not indulging too much. We don’t have a lot of activities planned so hopefully that will be easy to do!

Erika, Laurie & Kara – Merry Christmas!!

I will check in and see if you ladies are around tomorrow …. I will be at work all day but Friday OFF!

    Hi Ladies-

Just got back from 9 hours on the road today delivering Christmas gifts for work...whew! This morning was KCM Circuit Burn Boxing and Cardio...I just LOVE that one! Felt good to get in a great workout and then I was on the road by 6:30am!

Tami--How fun on the name that tune game! I'm in my early 30's and would have known that one too! Always fun to add a little game to the workout! That pre-mix sounds great, I'll have to check that out. I haven't done any of the weight work on that DVD, so I'll have to give it a go! I hope you have a Merry Christmas...I'll enjoy the snow for ya...sledding and all!

Laurel--Way to go on the workouts yesterday and today! I bet you were feeling it today after that rockin workout yesterday! Thanks for the info on LBB. I always want to jump to purchase new DVD's, but then if I take the time to think about it, I find I often have another DVD that is similar. If I get too many of the same "type" off workouts, I tend to avoid them all. Weird, I know! :blushing: That must feel good to have an nice clean house, I wish mine was! If I don't make it on tomorrow, have a wonderful Christmas!

Michelle-Sounds like the celebrating has begun over there. I hope everything goes well, and you have safe travels. Awesome workout this morning too! I'm psyched to get further into my new rotation...it's gonna be great!!! I think I'll need P57 to whoop my legs/booty into shape, as the STS workout for legs so far hasn't produced any DOMS, which is quote unusual for me!

Laurie--Nice work on CCC! I think we're in the clear for any more snow this week...hopefully you are too, so the drive is uneventful! Have a safe trip and Merry Christmas!

    Kara--Have a wonderful Christmas!

    Hi Erika ~

I was just popping in to log some food and saw you posted! I meant to thank you about the DVD info on that new Kick Boxing DVD. I will definitely look into it! Yes. I was surprised everyone didn't raise their hand on that song last night ... that's an easy one!

Excellent job on the workout this a.m. :drinker: and what a long day you have had! Hope you have a great evening and I will check in tomorrow with everyone!

Happy Thursday (and hopefully last day of work for everyone!)

I crashed hard last night after all that driving yesterday. Felt great! I've been feeling unusually energetic during the day, and ready to wake when my alarm goes off. I think it's the new vitamins I'm on! This morning was STS Back and Triceps. I don't know why, but this rotation is feeling easy so far. I'm sure it's because I've been doing so many weight workouts that don't have any rest at all in between, so this is new again for me. I went up in weights as much as I think I can handle (so I'm not too heavy in Meso 3), but yet I'm having a hard time feeling really challenged. I'm going to re-visit the Meso 3 sheets to see if I can handle more weight there, so can increase in Meso 1. I decided to do measurements last night. Last time I did them was after STS. I went down 1" in my hips, 1" in my thighs, and about the same everywhere else. Now, if I can just keep the bulk away, I'll be happy!

Tami--Glad you stopped in to say hi! I hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

Laurie, Michelle, Kara and Laurel--Happy Thursday!!!

Merry Christmas Everybody! This will probably be my last check-in before the holiday. I hope you all enjoy your time with family, friends, those you love most. Stay warm, healthy and safe....and enjoy!!

I woke up with a little more energy this morning. I did Insanity's Max Cardio Conditioning and Cardio Abs. I also did some of Yoga X. I started it and then realized I only had about an hour left to workout, so I pretty much just did the vinyasa portion and some stretches. It felt good, and I needed it after my workouts this week. I'm hoping to do Higher Reps tomorrow. That's the plan. We'll see if my husband talks me out of it or not. I know he'll try. We don't get many three day weekends together and he is getting ready to leave for the bulk of two months so....he might win out tomorrow. We'll see. Saturday will definitely be a day off, though.

Erika, great job on the body measurements!! Boy, you've just convinced me to stick with the high endurance workouts. STS probably feels easy because you are doing the endurance phase, but, as you said, with rests. You could probably safely up your weights and be fine right now if you don't feel challenged. I'm so glad you are having this experience with it! And glad you were safe yesterday being on the road that long.

Tami, congrats on winning the 'Name That Tune' contest!! Sometimes it pays to be a little older, doesn't it? My husband and I don't have any special plans for Christmas aside from enjoying the days together. He's had to work most Christmases since about 2004 and last year, not only did he have to work both days, but we got our household goods delivered to us (in Korea) a year ago today. Needless to say, Christmas was spent unpacking and cleaning (for me mostly). So I'm looking forward to a more quiet and settled Christmas this year.

Michelle, hope your travels went well!!

Laurie and Kara, hope you are well.

    Again, Merry Christmas ladies!!

    HI Ladies :flowerforyou:

This a.m. was Intensity! I wanted to try another pre-mix to check out my DVD issues. So I chose Step/HiiT (Hi)/BootCamp. What a great workout .... Ummmmmm until I got to BootCamp again. Same problem, same excact thing. :grumble: So I got through Step/HiiT which was a good workout but not quite "as good" w/out completing the whole thing. :ohwell: I sent Cathe customer service an e-mail and waiting to hear back. I hope they will send me a new one no problem. I love this workout and know it will be a "go to" one for me.

Erika: I bet you were exhausted last night. Sounds like you got some good sleep though so that's good! Do tell, what vitamins are you on!? Great news on STS going so well for you and not feeling that exhaustion like you did before + the strength you are having has to feel really good. Knowing your hard work has been paying off. Speaking of which ~ a HUGE congrats on the inches lost! :drinker:  I'm really happy for you!!!

Hi Laurel, Laurie, Michelle & Kara - Hope you all have a great pre-Christmas Eve Day!

I am taking Wellness Resources (a company based in Edina, MN, that comes highly recommended from my nutritionist/personal trainer friend at work!). I have to say, they stink, but work wonders. They are capsules, instead of tablets, so your body gets the nutrients fast, as opposed to the tablets which can take a long time to dissolve in your body. I am also trying their LeptiSlim supplments, which help regulate blood sugar, and curb cravings for sweets. So far, so good!

    Morning Ladies,

This will be my last post until after Tuesday. Have all the running around that needed to get done finished yesterday, so today is an at home day for us. Well until I have to go to Christmas Eve service at church. Right now we are getting snow, I'm just hoping that it will be finished up before we drive up tomorrow.

    My workouts the week where,

Wednesday: MMA Boxing with weighted gloves
Thursday: All three segments of Total Body Stretching
Today: Kimberly Spreens Absolute Kickboxing Premix #1 (didn't do the ab section on this one though) This premix rotated kixkboxing segments with combat drills for a circuit type workout.
Tomorrow will be Cardio Core & Balance

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

    Happy Monday Ladies!!!

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas--I know I did! With my family, it's just me and my brother and his 2 kids, along with my parents, so it's nice and calm. We got in 2 rounds of playing in the snow/sledding, which I was very happy about!! We then went home for Christmas Eve service and let the boys open a couple presents, and then were up early for presents Christmas morning. Later in the morning we headed to my in-laws, which was 20 (10 adults, 10 kids) people, and was TOTAL chaos, like normal. My FIL is all about presents on Christmas, so he gets all the kids fired up and they just go nuts ripping open presents. Not my type of Christmas celebration, but I just keep my mouth shut and go with the flow. Let's just say, when we left, it felt like I could hear a pin drop, as it was SO much quieter than when we were there!!! :ohwell:

Yesterday was Michelle Dozios' Peak 10 Cardio (got it for Christmas!), which I really liked. I was expecting it to be harder (kinda thinking it would be more like a Drill Max or Hiit workout for some reason), so I was happy when I was able to make it through the whole DVD without any problems! I love all the kickboxing in that workout--I think that will be a go to for me! Today was STS #25 Chest/Back. I was able to do all the weights I did last time I did that Meso, which was good. I probably could have gone up in weights a bit, but didn't feel like strapping on wrist weights. :blushing:

Laurie--Great workouts!!! I hope you had safe travels, it sounds like the storm that was here and dumped 6" the day before Christmas Eve is dumping up to 2 feet in parts of the eastern seaboard!

Tami--I hope you had a great Christmas! I am so thankful to have such wonderful MFP friends too! You guys are the best!! :drinker:

    Hello Ladies!

I hope you all had a great holiday. We had a very nice one here. Friday we went down into DC and went to Arlington to visit a general we know who is buried there. His birthday was Friday as well (he would have been 47 this year), so it was sad and poignant. Some of his family members were arriving as we left, and they were so happy to see some people he had served with visiting him. Made me feel good. We did a little walking around the monuments then headed down to a shopping mall in Pentagon City. That was madness!!! We didn't stay long. Saturday was very quiet. We got up to a few snow flakes which made it feel so much like Christmas. We had a nice breakfast and opened presents and then spent the afternoon watching movies and playing Wii. It was so nice to just have a quiet day like that with my husband.

I got some good workouts in. Friday I did High Reps for the first time. I didn't expect to like it much....but I really enjoyed it. The time flew by. It is definitely high reps, and my arms were burning after it was over. I felt it well into Saturday. One of the things I liked about this workout was that Cathe, like in STS Total Body, spent more time on the lower body than she usually does in her total body workouts. I liked that. The workout felt well balanced except I think it was a tad weak on the back exercises. But that's a minor complaint. Yesterday I did a combo on HiiT Pyramid and the lower body workout from Muscle Max.

Today I did a fun one. I did the kickbox/boot camp cardio premix from 4 Day Split. Then I did the upper body premix from the same set of workouts. It has probably been two years since I've done any of the upper body segments from 4DS,, and I remembered why I like those workouts so much. It felt great!!! I was able to lift as heavy as Cathe (something I struggled with two years ago), and even bumped my weights up in some areas. I will definitely be doing that combo again when I have the time.

My husband got me a kettlebell for Christmas!!!! He got me a light one (per my request) because I'm actually pretty concerned about injuries using kettlebells (my shoulder, my back, etc) Yesterday I saw that Bob Harper has a kettlebell workout out, so I picked that up. I'm anxious to give it a try.

Erika, sounds like you had a good holiday!! I totally understand about the noise at your in-laws. My brother-in-law's family (my sister's husband) sounds very similar. Presents everywhere, kids going crazy....totally nuts. I prefer the quieter, more simple pleasures in life, that's for sure. Glad you enjoyed your new workout!! And great job on STS!!! Sounds like it is going well for you right now. We didn't get any of the snow that hit the east coast. They had predicted it for us, but it totally skipped us yesterday. Both my husband and I were upset because we were looking forward to the snow.

Laurie, sounds like you've been getting in some great workouts. Hope you are enjoying your time with your family!

Tami, I hope Cathe works with you on getting your Intensity DVD replaced. Her company should.

Michelle, I was thinking about you when I saw the snow in Atlanta. Did you have a White Christmas? I hope you did. If so, that must have been so much fun for your girls.

Hope you all enjoy your day. I'm off to take the Christmas stuff down. :grumble: Not my favorite thing, that's for sure.

    Hi Ladies

Sounds like you both had a fantastic Christmas! Mine was pretty quiet but nice. We spent Christmas Eve w/ my in-laws for the day and came home, watched a movie. Christmas Day we had two different couples over and my in-laws ended up coming over to which was great. We just had a variety of food set out for everyone, just visiting and hanging out, nothing formal. My step son ended up coming over too so it was nice to see him and he stayed and watched a movie with us as well. REALLY enjoying not being at work. I am off again today and back tomorrow  :ohwell: But only 3 days and off for New years Eve!

I ended up taking both days off of working out (24th & 25th), blushing: wasn't really my plan just ended up that way. Yesterday started my week with Gym Style Legs & Athletic Step, (i am proud to say other than one little portion I got all the steps) Today was STS Total Body. Really enjoyed it and did pretty good on the weights that I had on my sheet, it was burning but a good burn. I am headed to Turbo Kick tonight!

Erika: Gorgeous family photo! You all look very happy and a "fun" family! Sounds like you had such a great time with your family and the sledding sounds like a blast! I bet it was a crazy time with all the adults & kids together but very fun I'm sure. Peak 10 sounds like a good one, not too tough but something that is fun and doable on a day you want a workout like that! Very nice that you received that DVD. I'm glad STS weight workouts are still going nicely for you as well. Sounds like this time it will feel much better for your body.

Laurel: Lovely picture again. You have such a great album of photos near historical sites, that is so nice. That was so thoughtful of you both to visit your friends memorial site, I would imagine it did make the family feel very happy that you were there. The Wii playing and movies sounds like a perfect day! I got a kettlebell too, lighter one as well. I wanted it for BH Cardio Cond. that I currently have and I also recently ordered his kettlebell workout  good fitness minds think alike! Glad to hear that High Reps is a good one. I almost did that one today and decided on Total Body instead.

I did hear back from Cathe's customer service. They are more than happy & willing to send me a new DVD but asked to check a couple things out so that i don't have the same problem. Sometimes on pre-mixes I guess it does cause skipping (but only 5% of people have that problem on some DVD players) what I tried was getting a "cleaning kit" from Best Buy. I'm sad to report that I don't think it fixed the problem. I had skipping this a.m. w/ TOTAL BODY before I had gone out to get that. At any rate, after doing the cleaning I plugged in Intensity and same thing, same place. So I put it on our big TV and no problem. No skipping. Which is good to know my DVD is ok, not so good that my current player is most likely the problem. It is the built-in to my TV player. :frown: So might do my workouts in front of the big tv for a while.

Hope you all are having a great day! I will talk to you tomorrow. :flowerforyou:

Just to warn you (if I didn't already), the vitamins have a funky odor to them, but I think it has to do with all the nutrients and stuff mixed together in them. I just don't smell in the bottle when I open it! I've been very pleased with their vitamins...no complaints!!

    Hi Ladies ~

Well this a.m. I did a fun cardio combo of 4DS KB/BC Cardio Power Pre-Mix! Plus my DVD worked the entire time.  Must just be something in her new DVD's?!? Turbo Kick was fun last night as well. Will head to the gym for Cycling tonight after work.

Hope you ladies are doing well ~ can't believe I am posting before anyone today. This is a first in a long time.
Thanks for the "warning" on the special vitamin smell Erika.

    Talk to you all soon!

    Hi ladies!

Tami, that's the workout I did yesterday! Definitely one of my favorites!! Today I did Intensity (no premixes), and I pretty much have the step portion mastered now. It felt really good this morning. I definitely like adding the boot camp portion to it (which I didn't do this morning) because it seems to really round out the program, but I like it 'as is' too. I hope you're able to use her new workouts. I definitely sounds like it is a player problem, which is a pain. Knock on wood....I've not had problems with her DVDs yet.

After Intensity, I did Lower Body Blast for the second time. Erika, this time around I did it with your question in mind about how it compares to Butts and Guts. For me, it really has a very different feel to it than Butts and Guts. As Tami mentioned earlier, the cardio blasts really add something different to the program. There are only three cardio blasts (plus a pretty cardio-intensive warm-up), but the blasts she includes makes this program feel more like a plyo program to me because of their inclusion.

I also like that she does a few exercises with the paper plate/disk. I love these exercises. They are done without weight but really get into the muscle. They feel very different to me than anything on Butts and Guts.

I always think of B&G as being in two phases....the standing work and the floor work. After all, in that workout, if you include the abs, the floor work is as long (if not longer) than the standing work. That's not the case in LBB. In LBB, the floor work really is focused on areas that weren't hit during the standing section, and I like that about this workout. The floor section is only about 10 minutes long (standing work is about 45 minutes long).

Finally, the leg conditioning drills which Cathe did as a bonus ROCK!! I don't know why I like them so much, but my legs are quivering when I get done with them, and that's a great feeling. These drills remind me more of the leg conditioning drills in KickMax than anything else Cathe has done....but they are tougher to me than those drills in KickMax.

Cathe doesn't repeat exercises in this workout like she does B&G. She also pretty much uses the same pattern for many exercises. That translates into lots of low-ends though. If you don't like low-ends, this isn't the workout for you. If you do....this IS the workout for you.

If you like Meso 1 legs and B&G, I think this workout is a great fusion of the two (with a little plyo action added). As you can tell, I was pretty happy with this workout after doing it this morning. I would say, based on doing all of the four new workouts, that this is my favorite so far. I've only done the two total body strength workouts once each, though, so that is subject to change.

Off to preview Bob's kettlebell workout. :drinker: See you all tomorrow!

    Evening Ladies,

We returned home last night but unfortunately I returned home sick:yawn: We had a white Xmas with a great snowball fight and the kids were excited to say the least:laugh: It was a wonderful Xmas and then we released gold & lavender balloons in honor of my cousin. It was tearful but wonderful.

I have been in bed all day just ingesting medicine and drinking homemade soup my mom froze for me prior to leaving Georgia:blushing:  Santa did not bring me any dvds:grumble: apparently they were out of stock but I have tons of workout gear and body lotions from the girls and then hubby gave me the Ipad, which was technically on my birthday gift list:grumble: All in all it was an awesome holiday and we already decided to rent a cabin next year in the mountains to celebrate the holidays.

I'm glad to see everyone up and hitting those rotations already meanwhile I'm stuck in bed feeling fat and crappy:blushing:

Erika & Laurel- Love the new pics:bigsmile:

Tami- Enjoy your cycling class:bigsmile: Stinks about the dvd but I work out in front of the big tv everyday..sounds like a QA problem with the dvds.

    Hello Ladies!!!

Today was a VERY productive day for me! I managed to clean the house, take down the Christmas tree and decorations, clean out my filing bin, run several errands and got a workout in tonight! I did KCM Body Training for the Legs and Squeeze Lower Body. About 1/2 way through the 2nd workout, I was kicking myself, as I'm really gonna be hurting tomorrow!!! So far, only minor DOMS from STS. I'm thinking Thursday's biceps, triceps and shoulders is what's going to do me in though!!! :noway:

Michelle--Welcome back!! Sounds like you had a blast, but darn that sick bug gotcha! :grumble: How did Capone do while you were gone?

Laurel--You've really got that Intensity workout down, way to go!! :drinker: Thanks for all of the play by play on LBB. It sounds much different, but when you watch the clips on Cathe's site, they look a lot alike! I'll have to keep that one in mind if I feel the need to add another lower body DVD to the collection!

Tami--Great workout and glad the DVD worked for you, but what the heck on the other DVD?!?!? :grumble: Hopefully it gets all figured out!! I'm excited to hear how you like the vitamins. In all seriousness, I find myself rarely feeling tired or dragging like I would find myself 1-2 times per week on my other vitamins. I think taking them 3 times a day also helps...I just take them with breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Well, off to get some sleep! I've got one of Cade's friends coming over tomorrow for a playdate, and I'm going to work on the menu for Carter's b-day party on Sunday, and gear myself up for 1 day (Thursday) of work this week!

    Good Afternoon, ladies!

Michelle, I'm so happy you got to enjoy a white Christmas!! I really was thinking about your when I saw it was snowing in Georgia, and I'm so happy you were able to be a part of that. How fun!! I'm sorry to hear you returned home sick. No doubt your mom's homemade soup will help. Take it easy, rest plenty, and don't worry about getting back on track until you are feeling better. Congrats on getting an iPad!!

Erika, boy, it sure sounds like you had an exhausting day yesterday! Good job on getting the workouts in. Glad to hear you aren't suffering from DOMS this go around with STS. As I recall, you had pretty bad DOMS the first time you did it. The rotation you've been doing the past few months must have put you in GREAT shape!! Good job!

I did Hardcore Extreme Worktou #1 today, which is a combo of IMAX 3 and High Step Circuit. Yowza! That's a tough one. I really enjoyed it. I finished it with STS No Equipment Abs, and then did about 20 minutes of Bob Harper's Kettlebell routine. I think it is going to take me a little while to get used to the kettlebell, but in those 20 minutes, the workout was kicking my butt!! Perhaps that had something to do with the tough workout I'd already done, but no doubt there is just a different feel to kettlebells that my body isn't quite used to. Something to aspire to, no doubt. My bell is only 15# but I couldn't handle much more than that with some of his moves.

When I finally get through the whole workout, I'll let you know what I think. I watched it yesterday, and he goes from move to move with little to no time in between. He is working out with only one other person, and she is very fit but looks like she's getting a good workout from this routine. I had sympathy for her this morning when I was doing my little bit. Bob does more talking than working out, but that's okay with me. He makes me smile!

Hope you all have a great day!!

    Afternoon Ladies,

Finally back from all out travels. It is nice to visit everyone, but sure super nice to be home. We only encountered about half the drive up north with snow. Yesterday was a beautiful drive home. So far today I have done STS Disc 1 Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. It was a shock to the body for sure! Those biceps and shoulders are really feeling it right now. I'm hoping to get in another workout later today, maybe do the leg workout. Trying to do a little catch up on my rotation.

Michelle, So cool that you where able to have a white Christmas. We are suppose to be getting some really warm weather, so wonder if the snow will even stick around. Hope you are able to get through your sickness quickly.

Erika, Sounds like you will be having a busy couple of days. I started my STS rotation also, so we can be STS buds for a while.

Laurel, I also got a Bob Harper workout for Christmas, the cardio one. I'm wanting to try it out, but I think I will need to preview it first. I have not done one of his workouts, so will need to see how his instruction goes. I also got Jillian's Ab workout, and am really wanting to try that one out.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Afternoon Ladies,

Today I venuture dout for a limited time to pay for tuition for daycare and return items to Macys, afterwards I was suffering with some major hacking coughs and just came back home:sick: Tomorrow I will try again for now I'm taking meds and using honey & lemon to soothe my painful throat and help with congestion.

Laurie- I'm glad to see that you made it back from vacation safely:flowerforyou: Bob is pretty straight forward with his instructions..no crazy choreography just sweat:laugh: In KB however jhe tends to instruct more than workout with the person..more one-on-one training.

Erika- I also looked up that vitamin company and I'm looking to order the energy pack as that tends to be a major issue plus I will need some with the new year and new job:wink: Capone was boarded for the 8 days we were gone and actually had diarrhea while he was there and returned with an ear infection. So far some yogurt in his food has worked and his ear drops are being used again. The great news is that he did not bark until 8am this morning:noway:

Laurel- Haha..... the Ipad was a funny gift and my younger cousins of course wanted to take it from me because I truly only became interested when I saw the passenger on the plane next to me playing scrabble:love: and reading his paper on this gadget. I definitely need to learn all about the product but I'm excited about reading via Kindle apps:laugh: It will take some time for me to learn for sure.

Tami- Have you received your vitamins yet? I'm excited to hear how you feel?

    Hi Ladies ~

This a.m. was Lower Body Blast – it felt really good again and may I report NO skipping at all on this one, which there wasn’t before. I did the regular straight through 60 min workout, not a pre-mix. I am really liking this workout. Love the warrior lunges for some reason; I guess because they are just different, but good & the cardio bursts in between exercises make it fun too & add the cardio factor. Cycling again tonight after work.

Erika: WOW! You definitely got a lot done, I bet it felt great. Good to hear on the DOM’s being way better this round with STS. Like Laurel said, the time away from it and the workouts you have been doing must have whipped you into better shape even than you think! That’s excellent. Yes, I am anxious to get the vits and see how I feel, wondering if I will notice a difference or not. I ordered the “multi-pack” daily so it’s got a lot of good ingredients going in ea pack. I didn’t get the LeptiSlim that you mentioned. Is that what you take 3 times a day? I’m truly stumped about the whole DVD skipping/non-skipping issue. For now I am going to try Intensity one more time and see. . . just in case. Wishful thinking I know.

Laurel: Great workouts today! YOWsa is right!! :noway: Thanks for the review on BH Kettlebell workout; mine hasn’t arrived yet. That is really funny yesterday that I mentioned about my 4DS workout and you had done it the day before. I really enjoyed that combo of workout as well; it was one of my “sticky notes” in my notebook to try. We are really on the same track sometimes, I love it! I wanted to ask you, what is your plan w/ food during this different rotation of workouts. I haven’t adjusted anything just yet but with things being more cardio than before I am wondering if I should. Kind of early to tell.
Speaking of the BH workouts, have you tried the cardio one yet? Just wondering your thoughts on it.

Laurie: Welcome Back! :drinker: Glad you had safe travels and fun family time. It is always good to be back. Congrats on getting a new DVD – if it is the BH Cardio Conditioning one he gives good cuing throughout, (just like Michelle said above) you aren’t surprised what is next. It is a great workout, I think you will love it! Are you glad to be doing STS again?

Michelle: Not yet, they are on their way. I am too. As I mentioned quite a while back when you were talking about vits, I have always been a vitamin taker so to switch to a better brand, etc. I am anxious to see as well. Welcome back to you too! :drinker: I am glad you had a nice trip but sorry to hear you are sick. Take it easy on yourself so you can be back to new very soon! What a fantastic gift – my mom just recently bought an Ipad for herself and LOVES it. It is with her at all times it seems. I’m anxious to hear about Mr. C as well. Hopefully all is well there.

Hope you all have a great day! We are having a pretty snowy day …. Very wintery and then we should be getting some really cold temps I guess for the weekend.

    Hello Ladies!!!

I FINALLY have internet access back, it was down for most of the morning/afternoon! :grumble: I had a good KCM Cardio Blast workout this morning, but could feel my legs were still fatigued from yesterday's workout, so just couldn't put all my effort into the step/plyo moves. I am gonna be in pain tomorrow! I'm extremely surprised with no DOMS from STS so far, esp. with the heavy weights on Monday. But, Kelly really gave me DOMS, so I think the fact that she does a lot of twists on a traditional move kept me working ALL my muscles. We'll see how STS goes tomorrow though!

Laurel--Wow, that workout sounds tough, and then following it up with kettlebells!?!? I'm still getting used to kettlebells, even though I've done the workout about 3-4 times. I can't seem to master the clean and press and the snatch...I keep hitting my forearm with the bell. I'm sure it will come with time! You're right, I had BAD DOMS with all of STS last time, so must have been in really bad shape when I did the workout the first time! :grumble: I still have an opportunity to get some good DOMS tomorrow though!

Laurie--Glad to hear you had safe travels, and only 1/2 of the drive was snowy. Can't wait to have an STS buddy! Are you doing Laurel's undulating rotation?

Tami--What is with that one skipping DVD? That would drive me batty trying to figure out if it's the DVD or the player. But, I have to say, I did have a similar issue with my ChaLean Extreme set, and turned out in the end to be my player. I sure hope it doesn't skip next time you do it! I'd love to hear how you like the multi-pack...I just have the Daily Energy Multivitamin, which I take 3 times per day, and the Leptislim too. Not sure if I'll continue on with Leptislim once it's gone or not...it helps a ton with the chocolate cravings (I haven't had any in nearly a month!), but I still crave some sweets, which I think can be expected.

Michelle-I sure hope that cough goes away before you start your new job! Glad you were able to get out and get a few things done though. Sounds like Capone had an adventerous stay at the boarding kennel, but maybe they got him in the habit of sleeping in!??! We can only hope, for your sake!

Well, off to enjoy the rest of the afternoon before I need to get to bed early for work in the morning. Only 1 day though!

Good Morning Ladies! I'm surprised to see I'm the first one on here this morning!

This morning was STS biceps, triceps and shoulders, Disc #26. It went well, but in all honesty, I just didn't feel like it was hard work. I remember with my last STS rotation, I was fighting for those reps in Meso #3, and this time around, it's not as challenging. Not sure I could really go up in weight much (I only have 1 pound wrist weights, otherwise my weights go up by 5lb increments), as I think then I might have form problems, but felt more burn/challenge when I was doing KCM workouts, or even my P57 workouts...hmmm. Laurel/Tami, any insight on that? Did you find your ending weights from your last STS rotation, compared to the start of Undulating were off?? I'm just stumped right now! :grumble:

I hope you're all having a fabulous day!!

    Hi ladies!!

First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I know I won't have a chance to check-in tomorrow, so I wanted to make sure to wish you all a happy and safe holiday! I'm not one for doing much celebrating at New Year's so I plan on a couple of pretty quiet days. I'm okay with that after all the hustle and bustle of Christmas. I think that's probably why I've never done much for New Year's.

I woke up today with odd amounts of energy, which is strange given the workouts yesterday. I started the day with Insanity's Max Interval Sports Training. After I took a break to eat breakfast, I felt like I had more to give today, so I did Turbo Fire 45 EZ. I absolutely LOVE that workout. It is, without a doubt, my favorite of the Turbo Fire workouts, and it felt great. I finished it all up with some yoga, which felt good after all of that.

Laurie, so happy to hear you had a good time with your family and that you made it home safely. Good job on STS Disk 1. Those pushups catch up with you, don't they? No matter how much I talk myself into that workout, by the last set of pushups, I'm calling Cathe some not-so-nice names. Please let us know what you think of Jillian's Abs workout. I looked at that one too, and I like her philosophy for working abs (more core work than crunches) but I just don't know enough about this one to know if it would be good or not. So any feedback is appreciated.

Michelle, I'm glad you were able to venture out a bit, but take it easy. I hope you start feeling better soon. I'm sure this is weighing on your mind a bit since you are starting work again soon. How are you feeling about that now that the day is fast approaching? I hope you're excited. Thanks for the info on the iPad. I saw somebody use one on a plane as well, and that really got me interested in one too. I wonder if Apple has people flying all over the country using iPads as a sales tactic! If not, they should....because it seems to work. I keep trying to tell myself that I have enough 'toys' and don't need one. We'll see how long that lasts. Let us know what you think.

Tami, we really are on the same wavelength sometimes, aren't we? Regarding Bob's cardio workout, I've looked for it everywhere but haven't been able to find it. I have his strength, kettlebell and yoga DVDs....but that one I couldn't find. So I think I'm going to have to order it. About my diet, I haven't changed anything yet. I don't think I really well since I pretty much eat the same things over and over. I am a little more aware of needing more carbs because of the cardio, but I usually don't do much about that except perhaps eat a bit more fruit (or if I'm planning a meal like scrambled eggs, I'll add half a whole grain english muffin to it). I'm really giving some thought to what I want to do in terms of workouts over the next couple of months. I've pretty much decided to start doing P90X again the first of March (regardless of whether Asylum is out by then ). I think for the month of January, I'm going to continue to focus on endurance for the first three weeks. Then for three weeks, I'm going to do splits with Gym Styles and Pure Strength. And then for three weeks, I'm going to do Slow and Heavy. So if I go with that plan, I'm not going to be away from the heavy weights long enough to really alter my diet too much. Right now, the biggest alteration I know I need to make is to stop eating chocolate!!!!! :blushing:

Erika, I know this is going to sound wrong, but I'm glad to hear it is taking you a bit of time to get used to kettlebells as well. I was really surprised at how awkward I felt with some of the moves. But, like I said yesterday, I take that as a good thing since I do want a new challenge. But I'm also afraid of hitting myself or dropping it on my foot! So I'm just going to take my time with it until I get used to it.

Again, I hope you all have a great New Year!!!

    Afternoon Ladies,

I'm suppose to be on bedrest as I'm dealing with bouts of nausea, a burning throat, headaches and just an overall crappy feeling:bigsmile: I'm not usually sick so as you can see it is truly annoying when it happens:laugh: I just did some housework and will try to unpack the suitcases and gifts in hopes of being organized when we ring in the New Year tomorrow.

The youngest started a half of day at daycare today so hubby who took two weeks off is in charge of appts and her first day while I try to recuperate. My FIL has heart surgery next week and the prognosis on his pacemaker is 50/50 because of his prior health issues, Hubby has to leave next week so we are trying to get me on my feet in order to deal with the absent hubby, new commute, latchkey kid and then daycare pickup:noway:

Send me some healing vibes ladies because I need my A-game for next week:laugh:

    Laurel- Happy New Year:flowerforyou:

Erika- Yes he slept in until 6:30 this morning which was great:bigsmile:

Tami- My hubby is the computer geek so I'm hoping to truly utilize the Ipad beyond scrabble games:laugh:

Laurie- Happy New Year. Did you try Bob yet?

Ok off to head upstairs and rest for a bit.

    Hugs,
    Michelle

    Hi Ladies

This a.m. was Cardio Core Circuit. As always it was a good one & to the point! Definitely worked those abs and got the HR up there, today especially for some reason. Wasn’t able to go Spinning last night – our snowy day turned into quite the “winter storm” so it was enough to drive home and not drive back to the gym and back home again. Decided on being safe.

Erika: Very good that you have definitely gained strength! I think the burn that you feel from KCM or P57 is maybe more from that repetitive/endurance based burn whereas STS is more a fatigue, that is “when you feel it” I know for me I definitely went up in weights in Undulating from my regular STS rotation.

If you didn’t feel any kind of burn and it felt easy I would say definitely go up that 5LB and try it, you might surprise yourself. Of course as you mentioned if your form starts to suffer than go back down. Meso #3 workouts you do want to feel like that 8-10 rep is tough to get too vs. not really having to work at it. If the 5 feels too heavy then maybe try the wrist weights, but definitely you want to feel like you are working at it. I hope this helps.
My vitamins arrived and started taking them today. Definitely a vitamin smell but no worries, it wasn’t too bad. I’ll let you know how I go with them.

Laurel: Thanks for the info/thoughts on your food and workouts. Again, same wavelength for the workouts.  I was just thinking this a.m. that I would like to mix in some Gym Style workouts and Power Hour style along with the cardio/circuit workouts during the week. Even though I am enjoying all the workouts, it feels strange to me right now to not be doing much really as far as weights go. Even just mixing in a week here & there for now vs. just the light weights/cardio, etc. On the eating, I am the same way (which I probably told you a while back) I have a tendency to eat the same things A LOT and just wondered if I was on the right track. I second guess myself sometimes on eating and wonder, just like workouts if I need to change things up. on your chocolate – it doesn’t seem to be doing you any harm, Geesh, Energizer Bunny! I will let you know how it goes when I give my kettlebell a try, I'm sure it will be a different experience forsure, you won't be alone.

Michelle: Sorry to hear you are not feeling good. :ohwell: Those symptoms combined do not sound like fun at all. I hope you get better fast. I’m sure all the preparations for your new job, scrambling family, kids and meals way heavy on your mind right now but good that your DH is home to help right now. I’m sure you will be good to go very soon and all of the above will come together beautifully!

Hi Laurie – Hope you are having a great day!

I’ll check in tomorrow ~ if I miss some of you have a Happy New Year! :drinker:

Hi Ladies, Happy New Years Eve!!! Any big plans out there? We've got a b-day party for my nephew and then a neighborhood NYE party (with kids). We're expecting some snow tonight, so being at the neighbors will be good so we don't have to drive!

This morning was STS Plyo Legs...now THAT kicked my butt!! Felt great, and I felt like I really got a good workout. I can officially report absolutely no DOMS from shoulders, tris and bis yesterday, however my wrists are sore from holding the heavy weights. I would like to go heavier, but I now remember my wrists really bugging me by the end, so not sure I could handle it in my wrists. I'll have to see how I feel next time about going up 5lbs. I did look at my sheet a bit closer, and realized I did go up 3-4 puonds more than what the sheet called for (and what I did last time), so that might explain the wrist pain.

Tami--Great job on CCC. I bet those abs are feeling toasty! I've heard that these winter storms have been hitting all over the states, including down south! I have a friend in AZ right now, and he sent me a picture of snow on the sides of the roads! Thanks for the advice on STS. I'm a little nervous whenever I go up in weight, when I'm already lifting heavy, as I'm worried about injury. The weights I'm using for STS Meso 3 are more than I ever used with CLX or any other program, so I just get a little worried! :ohwell: Glad you got your vitamins...I wonder if yours aren't as bad because you got a different kind? Mine are so bad I actually hold my breath (they smell like pee, I think!), but they have been working wonders for me, so I just deal with it!

Michelle--I am sending healing vibes your way so you can bounce back to your normal self. No fun being sick and bedridden. At least Capone is cooperating!!! Sounds like the hubby did a good job taking care of things while you got some rest. Feel better soon! :flowerforyou:

Laurel--Way to go on using that extra energy in the workouts. I wonder if the chocolate is giving you energy!??! I can tell you, I stopped eating chocolate mainly because I was getting caffeine buzzes from it. I don't drink anything caffeinated (except on a rare occasion), but was eating chocolate a lot, and was constantly irritable, crabby and didn't "feel" well. What I found out, is that the chocolate I was eating most (dark chocolate) has the highest amount of caffeine in it, and caffeine messes with my stomach and makes me get jittery and thus I get irritable. So, I decided I should just steer clear! But, I wonder if it's giving you a little caffeine buzz?!?!

Well, off to get ready for today's festivities! Happy New Year, Ladies!!! :drinker:

    Happy New Years Eve!! :drinker:

OFF today :drinker: Just finished up w/ Cathe's High Step Training! It was really fun and offers such a great variety. Truly a great circuit workout  This is one that has been lost in my DVD library and I'm glad to get it out, will definitely go to this one again.

Erika: I understand what you mean on "going heavy" and feeling concerned. As always, listen to your body and if you feel it might be too much than definitely don't and concentrate more on the movement and muscle you are working. Sometimes when I feel like it isn't quite heavy enough I do that and it seems to help the burn factor a litte more. Great job on Plyo! Those are always great workouts. Good that you don't have DOMS today & hopefully the wrists feel better after a day or two of rest. I bet because my vitamins are the Daily Pack and have others mixed in I don't notice the smell as much. I'm hoping to start out with this and try other supplements they offer.

We are planning on stopping by a friend's b-day party and then heading home pretty early for dinner and maybe a movie. That is usually our plan because we don't like to be out on the roads w/ all the other party peeps!

Michelle - Hope you are feeling better today!

    Happy New Year Ladies!!
