Happy Thursday Ladies (almost Friday  )!

This morning was a nice walk on the treadmill while I watched some DVD's I haven't done in a while to decide if I want to list them on Ebay...free insertion fees right now, so costs nothing to list your item (just fees when you sell it). Gotta love it! Tomorrow is P57...I am amazed at the changes I'm seeing in my body from just that and walking...seems weird to see such good results without hard cardio and tough weights!??! I did notice, that I am FAR less hungry now, than I was when doing my Cathe DVD's rotation or STS, so I've easily been able to maintain my weight with this rotation.

Tami--Nice work on Squat Rack legs...I remember that part with the dumbbells...I did invest in a "junior" barbell, but it only has 25lbs on it. I'm wondering if I can wrap a leg weight around it to add some weight?? I have 2 20 pound leg weights I could get creative with! I got the barbell at sears for around $35...it was the only barbell I could find that wasn't the olympic style, or one where I would have to go buy plates to fit it. My hubby has an olympic bar, and it's just too hard to do STS with is as it's 7 feet long and the bar itself is 45 pounds! For my rotations, I usually base it on favorite DVD's, and try to stick to M-W-F weights and T-Th-Su cardio. I find if I pick workouts I like, I will stick with it and not be constantly swapping out workouts (that happened a lot with my Cathe rotation, as I was doing every workout at least once, so I had to try them all). I have been trying to do 30 day rotations to give myself some variety, but if I find a certain workout I really like (such as P57), I'll incorporate that into my next rotation somehow as well.

Laurie--Sounds like a tough morning with your DD. I'm not looking forward to the teenage years, but am hoping it will be a little easier being that I have 2 boys? I think there are so many changes teenagers go through, and can go from happy to sad to mad to whatever in a split second. I wouldn't go back to those years for anything! My poor Mom...I can't tell you how many times I told her I hated her and slammed my bedroom door at her...I think she just kinda let it roll off her after awhile figuring I must be hormonal at the time!

Michelle--I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend! Those situations are so hard to understand...why does it happen to someone that really tries to take care of themselves, and at such a young age. You definitely have been tested in the loss area lately. I hope that the days get better as you grieve the loss of your friend. I'm thinking of you....

    Kara and Laurel--Hello!!!

I'm just taking a quick study break to catch up on posts & wanted to say to Michelle how sorry I am to hear of the passing of your family friend.

Not much to post on my end. Very stressful week & have only worked out 1 day so far. :frown:

    Morning Ladies,

Insanity Pure Cardio for me this morning, and to tell the truth I was dreading it. After the warm-up it was a different story though. :noway: I had contimplated doing Cardio Power & Resitance (which I had scheduled for Saturday), really glad I kept to the rotation. Really feel great! I did get One on One Killer Abs done last night, so I'm all caught up with my rotation.

Oldest DD has a cross country meet after school today, so I will be leaving work early to help out at the meet. This will be the first time that I have been able to see her run this year.

Michelle, I am so sorry to hear about your friend, you have had a really tough time this year. Totally understand that you where not motivated to workout. Will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. So far this first week of P90X / Insanity has been fun, will see how it goes after three weeks.

Tami, WTG on the squat rack legs! Glad you where able to go up in weight. Can't believe that you are so close to the end of your rotation. I will cross my fingers that you are able to get those Insanity workout! I think that you could have a great rotation combining Cathe workouts with Insanity. I to am getting excited about the new Cathe's, all the premixes sound great. After 60 days P90X got boring, I have been second guess myself and wondering if I should just stick with the P90X weight workouts. I know I would love to do the STS Undulating, but wonder if I should do the 90 day hybrid and then go onto STS. I guess I will see how I'm feeling when I get to the recovery week.

Erika, Our bodies will tell us what they need, at least that has been my experience. Glad you are enjoying your rotation. I'm glad everyone can remember the hassle that we put our parents through. I was a middle child, so didn't give my parents as much grief as my older syblings did. Then again with seven kids in the family you really couldn't make to much of a fuss, or the others would be on your case.

Kara, Hope the stress starts to pass soon! You will get back to the workouts at some point, just a matter of time.

    Have a great day!

    Good Morning ladies,

Thank you so much for the well wishes. This will be easier because I'm not in the thick of it compared to Summer....it just seems so unreal.

I'm not even going to mention the crazy hours that dog barked early this morning but if he kkeps this up he will be checking into a doggie hotel for good:yawn: I felt so guilty about the missed workout so this morning I decided to go for an intense workout to really burn some calories and pulled out my Debbie Siebers SS dvd. It was a good 60 minutes but instead of my usual huffing and puffing it was a mild sweat even with her floor work:frown: My heart rate did increase but obviously although my rotation is light my endurance has definitely increased along with flexibility using Bar w/cardio:bigsmile:

Kara- Focus on your school work and hopefully things will settle down soon.:flowerforyou:

Laurie- Haha Tony is addicting and an idiot:bigsmile: so hopefully it will still seem enetertaining after 4 weeks:wink: Tell that sexy old man I said Hello:laugh: Try 60 days instead of the 90.

Tami- Way to go on that workout...wowzer:bigsmile:

Erika- Yes those intense workouts combined with cardio definitely increases the calories as your body demands the extra food which can unfortunately become a major battle of working harder and seeing less changes. Bar method actually recommends that any additional cardio should be walking, martial arts, kickboxing etc..but advises against running which is music to my ears:laugh: Like you I'm able to maintain a steady diet even with the hormonal monster nipping at my heels and has actually lost a few lbs last week and this week:bigsmile:

Another half day at school this week so I'm off to a drs. appt. and taking the girls to an indoor game place for their suprise.

    Hi Ladies

Today was KickMax . . . I always love that one! Getting some things packed this evening because I am leaving work early to head over and see my DH! It is his B-day on Sat and my 4th Annual Fishing trip with him. Some friends of ours will pick me up and then we will all hang out and fish. Should be fun and it will be good to see my hubby for the weekend. He has a couple more weeks of guiding and he will be home again.

Erika: Thanks for mentioning that about ebay -- I do have more to post forsure! Well that is easy enough in order to create a rotation. .Definitely provides so many options. I remember you saying before on this rotation you are trying to go through the "library" of workouts! Thanks for sharing that. Sometimes I think I may just over think the rotation :embarassed: :ohwell: That is excellent on the changes you are seeing from your new workouts ... it is a new mindset I'm sure. I know we always need to change things up to see results but finding a brand new combo that works is great! Yahoo for you! :drinker:

Michelle: Good job on getting in your workout today ~ sounds like you enjoyed it and are happy with your results as well! I an imagine your frustration with Capone, I'm sorry. I know we keep telling you it will get better .... it will!

Laurie: That's great that you stuck with your scheduled workout and you really enjoyed it! Glad you are caught back up in your rotation w/ abs last night. How did your DD track meet go? How nice that you were able to see her run. I bet she was happy you were there.

Kara - Hang in there! I hope that the stress settles down soon for you! :flowerforyou: Don't worry about the workouts ... you'll be back at it when you can.

    Laurel - Hello!

I will check in with everyone tomorrow before I leave for my weekend!

Hi ladies! I only have time for a quick check-in, but I've missed you all! I made it back to the US and am lovng being back. The trip was long but no problem. I had a little jet lag initially (trouble sleeping at night) but, for the most part, felt great through the trip and when I finally got to Arizona some 24 hours after getting started in Korea.

Because of that, I've been able to keep up with my workouts. It hasn't been easy, but I've done it. I did some lighter workouts last week (like KPC and KickMax) since it was my 'rest' week, but this week I started back up with Insanity doing the second month of the rotation. Yowza those workouts are hard!! But they are great for my situation right now. My BIL also has some weights, so I have been able to do a little resistance training though not much. But I'm happy I'm managing to find a way to workout through all of this. A week from tomorrow (Friday) and I'll be traveling to Washington DC. I'm getting excited.

I've read through your posts, and it sounds like you are all doing so well with your workouts. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, Michelle. That is so difficult. But I hope all of you are doing all right. I can't wait to get back with you on a more regular basis, but I'm skimming off somebody else's internet right now, so it will probably be after I get to DC before I'm able to do that.

    Take care!!

    Morning Ladies,

No workout for me this morning, and I even slept in this morning. :noway: I have the evening all to myself tonight, so I'm planning on doing YogaX after work. :drinker:

Michelle, Sorry to hear that Capone is way to alert at night, must be hearing noises that make him bark? I will give Tony a hi from you tonight as I'm working out, he makes me laugh all the time. Maybe that is why I'm enjoying the workouts, it has been a while since I have heard the jokes.

Tami, Have a wonderful time this weekend fishing. Kickmax is a lot more fun for me since I got my endurance up with Insanity, otherwise I just dreaded that 15 min. of cardio. DD did really well at her meet last night, and the course was really fast. She was the first runner on her team to finish, but came in 20th overall. Those girls where coming in under 15 min. :noway:

Laurel, Glad to hear from you again, and so wonderful that you are able to keep up with those workouts. Can't wait to talk to you on a consistant basis.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Afternnon Ladies,

This morning I was too sick to do a workout but my errands did include tons of walking around pushing the 4 yr old in the cart:bigsmile: Capone woke up at 3:45am:noway: what is going on my fellow dog owners? My blood pressure was low when I woke up this morning which means that my head feels as if it being crushed anytime I move:sad: After walking downstairs at least 3 times for the dog I woke my daughter up as she was suppose to be sharing in these duties. I was able to grab another 30mins of solid sleep but had to take some medicine to ease the pain.

Laurie- Yes, Tony makes me laugh and his body looks great which is a plus too:wink:

Tami- I hope that it gets better but I'm soooooo tired as my DD that swore she would help out is not doing her part and my hubby which stated he was not a part of it can not be relied on for assistance:grumble: I'm looking at a few places to get him into doggy daycare at least once per week...that would be a great break for me along with an extra hour of sleep the next day:bigsmile: .

Laurel- Enjoy yourself and we are happy to hear that both of you made it safely thus far:flowerforyou: .

    Erika-Enjoy your weekend:drinker:

    Hi Ladies & TGIF!

This a.m. was STS #33 (Shoulders/Biceps/Triceps) Was very happy to get my workout in despite being a little distracted by needing my bag/groceries, etc. all set to go “last minute” things because our friends are picking me up right when I get home. Leaving work a little early, so that will be good. But the workout was good and this "heavy" week has been good, I have felt strong.

Laurel: Hello! So glad you stopped in ~ Looking forward to hearing about your adventures and think it is so fabulous that you are keeping up with workouts. Good job! Hope to hear from you again soon from your new home.

Michelle: OH friend, I am sorry about you’re a.m. :frown: I wish I had the answer for little Capone. I bet you are ready to put a “FREE to Anyone” sign on his collar. Where is Cesar when you need him! (The Dog Whisperer). He would have the solution forsure. I wonder if you moved his crate to a new location or does he have the option to be outside for the night maybe? You may have already tried moving him to a new location. The doggy daycare will help give him that stimulation of the other dogs, burn some energy off forsure. What if your DD took him for a walk prior to bedtime? Sorry, I am not being much help. For me and the puppies we have had is that there has always been another “older” dog going along on the journey, so it has helped tremendously. I know that is not what you are planning on doing but just saying, that helped us. :ohwell: I'll keep thinking on it. Definitely get your DD to help on the wake up factor too!

Laurie: Glad to hear your DD’s track meet went well. How fun you have an evening alone to get in your Yoga! I agree on Tony being funny. When I did the YogaX not too long ago ….. I remembered then his funny sayings and what not. Enjoy. Also, good news - I got the Insanity! Now just figuring on when to fit it in - probably with my next rotation!

Erika & Kara: Hello and Happy Friday! :drinker:

Hope everyone has a great weekend ~ talk to you all on Monday!

Hi Ladies! I hope you all had a great weekend! I ended up getting a cold over the weekend (hoping it's not what my hubby had!), so I've been a little low on energy, but still got in my walk on Sunday and P57/walk this morning. This week starts a new work scheduled for me, as we moved our kids out of their daycare, so I'm now working from home until I take the boys to school at 9am, and then will be in the office. The boys will go to after school care through the YMCA, and they are THRILLED! I feel much better knowing they aren't walking to school!

Tami--Nice workout on Friday! I always struggle with my workouts when I know I have some other things to get done, so I commend you on getting it done!

Michelle--Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well on Friday! I hope you had a chance to get some rest, and Capone slept in. Like I said before, puppies are a lot like babies...takes awhile for their sleeping to be down to a set schedule--until then, they are all over the place. I remember putting our dog's crate in the bathroom, downstairs, out in the garage, etc. Nothing ever worked, so she became an end of the bed sleeper. Granted, she's only 8 pounds, so it's not that big of deal, and now we're used to it. But, that first several months of trying to get her to sleep in her kennel was nervewracking!

Laurie--I hope you got some rest and Yoga was fabulous!

Laurel--Great to hear from you. I hope the final settling into your new home goes well later this week!

    Have a great day everyone!

    Morning Ladies,

Had a great weekend all by myself! I did get YogaX done Friday night, and on Saturday morning my legs where feeling all those warrior poses. Saturday I did Insanity Cardio Power & Resistance and Incredible Abs 5 with Cindy Whitmarsh. Sunday was StretchX. This morning was P90X Chest & Back along with Ab Ripper X. Whew! The tireds are gone from last week, so I'm hoping that trend continues.

Michelle, Hope you are feeling better! Don't really have any advice for you on Capone, I have not had to deal with a puppy in over 20 years and can't remember what we did. I know that it does take time, but until that point it can get very frustrating. Our current dog was already 3 years old when we got her, so she was sleeping through the night. Good idea getting your dd to participate in the early morning dog duties.

Tami, Congrats on getting Insanity, I think that you will really enjoy it. How was your fishing weekend, hope you didn't have the cold like we had. I think Dh and the DD's all have the sniffels, they where all outdoors in this weather we had. I was the only smart one and stayed indoors doing workouts.

Erika, Sorry to hear that you got that cold. Very great news on the after school program, I also had my girls in something like that. They actually had an after school program at the school, so I just picked them up from there. I'm betting that the YMCA will be a very fun experience.

    Have a great day!

The covers are scary!! She looks like she's had a ton of botox or something. I wasn't too thrilled w/the clips. Why did they seem so boring to me? Maybe I should watch them again when I'm more alert & not after a long day of classes, but as of now my credit card is safe!

No workout for me today. Hope to be asleep before 8pm.....

    Hi Ladies ~

So the weekend was great! We caught our limit both days and it was lots of fun. When I get the pictures e-mailed to me from my friend that was with us I will share them with you! I caught a 20 & 22 LB salmon yesterday, so that was lots of fun. I was very tired So didn't make my leg workout so decided to get it in tonight when I got home. I decided on Butts/Guts Pre-mix "Overall Legs" . . i wished halfway through that I would have just done the regular B&G but that's ok, I was glad to get my workout in. Tomorrow will be my Chest/Shoulders/Triceps & Spinning in the p.m. So then I will be caught up.

Erika: Sorry to hear you got a cold :frown: Hopefully it won't last very long. Sounds like you have a really great plan for your boys! I bet you are excited, how great that you can work from home in the a.m.

Laurie: I am going to check out the clips shortly ~ excited to see them. The weather was really great during our fishing time. Sat we had blue skies and sunny 90 degrees! Sun was overcast but not cold so it was fine, plus we were off the water by 10:15 with our catches! (6 King Salmon) What a great weekend you had! I didn't realize you were by yourself all weekend. Sounds like you made great use of your time and got in some great workouts! Yes, I was excited to score on Insanity and look forward to trying it . . . just figuring out when. along with our new Cathe DVD's too.

Kara: I am going to check out the previews and see. I have been really excited for these to arrive, so hopefully not disappointed. I hope school is going well for you and the stresses are simmering down. How did your tests go the other day?!?

Michelle: Hi there ~ hope you had a great weekend and little Capone behaved!

Laurel: Thinking about you and hoping your house situation is working out, things are going well and you are able to be doing your workouts!

Talk to you all tomorrow :flowerforyou:

    Good Morning Ladies!!

Wow, it's amazing how much better of a mood I'm in now that I have the kids home with me in the morning, and they LOVED afterschool care yesterday and are excited to go back. I feel sooooo good! I went on my lunchtime walk yesterday with my boss and told him probably 100 times how nice it is to have a flexible schedule and how much less stressed I feel (I had told him I was considering quitting my job to be home with the boys a couple weeks ago, and I think I freaked him out!)!

This morning was a 1/2 hour incline walk on the treadmill, and hopefully another one while I watch a show this evening. This low key workout is just right for me now, especially with fighting off this yucky crud going around at home and work. But, I feel back to 100% today, so hopefully I just had a 2 day quick cold, and I'm done!

Tami--Sounds like you had a perfect weekend! I LOVE salmon...I could eat it for every meal, but I've never been fishing for them! Glad you got your leg workout in, and sounds like you're all lined up for today's workouts!

Laurie--What a nice weekend...all by yourself. Those are the best! :drinker: I only get a couple of those a year, but fully enjoy them!

Kara--How is school going? Sounds like you've been busy!!!

    Have a fabulous Tuesday!!

    Morning Ladies,

Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit is done for today! Was a way better workout for me than last week, but again those plank moves in the last circuit where tough. Couldn't hold the plank, so the weight workout on Monday was again giving me that fatigue factor.

Kara, I to was a bit freaked out with the cover of Itensity! Cathe looked a little evil. I'm still looking forward to these workouts, the STS one has a lot of equipment. Guess that is because of the total body thing. Hope all is going well with you for school, and the stress is a lot less.

Tami, That is so great that you have all that fish! I love salmon, just wish ours was as fresh as what you have. I think that the instructors do all these new workouts at the same time, so that they are available for the beginning of the year! After all isn't that when all the gyms are full of people working off that Christmas eating. Sure makes it crazy for us DVD adicts though. I'm having a great time incorporating the Insanity DVD's inbetween the weight workouts. Might be an interesting rotation to put Insanity and Cathe together.

Erika, You sound like you are a much more relaxed mother already! Glad the boys enjoyed their afterschool program. Bet your boss is glad that he gave you the flexiblity too! I truly enjoyed the time by myself, it was just very strange. I don't get those very often, so didn't know what to do at first.

Michelle, Hope all is well for you.

    Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for asking about school. School is still keeping me very busy. Full-time student means there's ALWAYS something due somewhere. But it is nice to have my 1st round of tests done. I did EXTREMELY well on my microbiology...me & another girl made 2 highest grades in class! My Respiratory Care test I got a 92...& for some reason you need a 93 in that class to get an A. Oh well. I made DUMB mistakes on that one. My Anatomy & Physiology class I won't get the grade back until next week...keeping my fingers crossed on that one...it was the hardest.

Erika: You sound fantastic this morning!! I can tell by your post how happy you are! Good for you!!!! I love that you're also trying new things workout-wise. I would have a hard time adding in P57 into a rotation only because my DH & I do our rotations together. I have 1 "free day" & I usually do yoga & dance. Actually, that brings me to a question for everyone:

DOES ANYONE HAVE A FAVORITE FULL BODY WEIGHT WORKOUT (other than Cathe's Muscle Max)? I need one for my rotation coming up.

Tami: Wow. Sounds like you had a very nice weekend!! Congrats on the Insanity!!!! Can't wait to hear how you like it!!

Laurie: Glad to see someone else doing some P90X! I don't know why, but I just love those workouts. Especially when not doing the full 90 days as its scheduled & instead mixing it up a bit. Hey, do you have any Rainbeau Mars yoga? She looks great & I'm just curious of other's opinions on her.

Michelle: Hope you're feeling better! & I hope Capone is behaving!! We have 2 dogs & our second one was a long battle of adjustment. Both of our dogs are crate trained & stay in their crates while we are not home (or if a repair man comes over, etc). Our beagle LOVES her crate, the other dog prefers to be out but tolerates it. It may not seem like it now, but it will get better!

    Laurel: How are things?

    Have a great day,

    Good Morning,

I'm sorry to be MIA but I have been working on a project and then my TOM is here and for some reason my body feels drained:blushing: This weekend was fun with the family. Capone slept in until 5:15am which was better than his 3:45am wake up call:noway: I enjoyed some walking this weekend but I think that this week will be a rest week until Saturday.

Kara- Way to go with those scores:drinker: The originals Get Ripped with Jari.....just go heavy with your weights and it is a solid workout in 60 minutes.

Laurie- We took Capone to the groomer this weekend and he was exhausted when we picked him up so I can't wait for daycare. I found a place that is close that offers boarding and doggie daycare so he will start going on Fridays starting next week. This week he gets snipped and chipped so hopefully that will not be too painful for him. Some days are better than others...I just have to go with the flow b/c he has improved since the move from Florida.

Erika- I wish flexible shifts were offered to more parents which would alleviate so much stress. I'm happy that your boss recognized that it was important to you and met you in the middle...I'm also sure that the boys are loving it too:bigsmile:

Tami- Oooooooooh send me some of that fresh salmon:laugh: What kind of lures do you use to catch salmon?

I had the entire house steam cleaned today so we are literally in the chaise lounge reclining in the kitchen entertaining on laptops or mp3 while it dries. The slacking continues...........

    Have a great day everyone,

    Good Morning ~

This a.m. was STS #19 (Shoulders/Chest/Triceps) … felt good and I am looking forward to Spinning tonight after work! Yes, I would love to share the salmon with all of you – Yum! Luckily I love eating it. My hubby likes it of course but not as much as me. He mostly enjoys that I go with him at least a couple times a year and if I catch them he feels the motivation will continue!

Kara: Congrats on your school and the high scores! :drinker: That is so fantastic and I am sure feels good to you as well. Especially as hard as you have been working. I’ll definitely keep you posted on Insanity once I get rolling with it in my “new” rotation; won’t be for a while but looking forward to finally trying it.

Laurie: Yes, I agree Cathe does look a little evil on the cover of Intensity, Yikes! I did preview all the clips last night and I am still excited and happy that I am getting them forsure. I was thinking the same thing on STS that I may need to get out my old barbell that I have in the garage. It doesn’t have very many plates is why I don’t use it but for that one it will probably work. Intensity looks exactly that – it looks like a good one to use for pre-mixes and on a really good cardio day in its entirety.

Erika: So happy for you – I think it is so great that your boss has agreed to that and you were honest about how rewarding that is for you. It will definitely be a win-win situation ~ Yahoo!

Michelle: Don’t ya just love TOM and how it can completely drain a person. :noway: NOT! I am sorry you are feeling the tireds but good that you are listening to what you need. Hope little Capones surgery goes good. They say that sometimes the little “snip-snip” does mellow a dog out and the new daycare will be fantastic I’m sure for him. We catch the salmon on lures called “QuickFish” that they wrap a small little fillet of sardine that has been brined onto it for scent.

    Hi Laurel!

Hope you all have a great day! :flowerforyou:

    Morning Ladies,

P90X Shoulders & Arms is done, and I still have to do an ab workout tonight. Have not made a decision as to which one I would like to do, so that will be what I'm thinking about as a drive home from work. I'm really feeling the triceps right now. I went up by 1 pound on each exercise, and that seems to be working really well.

Kara, My favorite full body would have to be Power Hour. You are done in one hour, and each body part gets worked out to the point of failure. It is an endurance workout, you can't wait for the song to end. WTG on the tests, and I'm surprised that a 93 doesn't give you an A. I have not tried a Rainbeau Mars yoga workout, but have been interested in those workouts too. I just have not made the jump into trying her workouts.

Michelle, Oh that good old TOM can make you exhausted. I was suffering from that last week, and of course starting up P90X/Insanity didn't help either. I think that the doggy daycare will be great for Capone, you probably won't hear a peep out of him on Friday evening. He will probably be chasing those other dogs all over the place. Has everything dried out yet? I need to get the carpets cleaning in our house too. :grumble:

Tami, My DH isn't a big fish fan, so I'm really the only one that eats it. He will only eat fish if it is fried on oil. I to like the looks of Intensity, especially all the portions that don't use the step. Of course the step routine didn't look to bad either. I'm hoping it isn't to complicated. I just ordered the Insanity Fast & Furious DVD from BB. It says it is a 40 min. Insanity workout, packed into 20 min. :noway:

    Have a great day!

    Hi ladies!

Thought I'd check-in one more time before my trip to DC. I leave Friday morning, and I'm getting really excited about it. The visit with my family has been wonderful, but I'm more than ready to get settled into a new home. No word on our household goods yet, but we are scheduled to move into our new home on the 15th. I've been awake since 3:00am contemplating how we are going to do that without furniture, dishes, etc. :noway: Oh, the joys of moving.

I have been getting my workouts in, though. I'm halfway through my second week of the second month of Insanity. I'm kind of gritting my teeth through these workouts right now, so I'm not so sure I'll finish this second month's rotation, but I'm going to stick with it (or try to) for at least another week. I really do feel like they are helping me maintain my weight right now (despite some rather poor eating at times) so.....I'll continue to grit and get through them. I was cracking myself up this morning because I was trying to watch late-night/early morning TV (since being up so early) and ended up watching the Insanity infomercial. It served as motivation for my workout this morning if nothing else.

Tami, congrats on getting Insanity. I think you'll like it. I wouldn't suggest doing a full rotation of it with doing weights at the same time. I did that last month and it was TOUGH. There is no way I could do it this month with the longer workouts.

Laurie, sounds like your rotation is working out for you. Glad to hear you have more energy this week. Doing P90X and Insanity requires alot of energy!!

Kara, congrats on the school work. Sounds like you are doing great. I agree with you about the new Cathe covers. They look more like computer-generated pictures to me than actual photos. My favorite total body workout is actually Cathe's Maximum Intensity Strength. It is simple, straight-forward and doesn't require as much equipment as her more recent workouts. It's an oldie....but definitely a goodie.

Erika, sorry to hear about the cold, but sounds like you are doing much better. Great news about your work schedule as well.

Michelle, sorry to hear that your life is so busy right now. Don't sweat it as you've proven that you will get back into the swing of things when it is the right time.

I'll catch you all in a few days from the other side of the country. Hopefully I'll have more/better internet access when we get there. Take care!!

    Hi Ladies!

I feel so off on posting this week...never the same time each day! This morning I opted for sleeping in, and man did that feel good! I'll get my walk in shortly over my lunch break, and then P57 later after work.

Laurel--Great to hear from you, and way to keep pushing on those workouts. I get tired just hearing about them! But, then again, I'm not a huge cardio person, so that thought just tires me. I bet they are the only thing keeping you sane!

Laurie--Great job on the P90X workout! All this talk about weights is making me think about my next rotation after P57...hmmm..STS? Full body weights? KCM?? Kettlebells?? Maybe that can be my weekend project!

Tami--Workin the arms in the morning and legs at night...sounds like a good lineup to me! Have fun with Insanity...I think it's right up your alley (unfortunately not mine though--as much as I wanted to like it). You, Laurie and Laurel are cardio queens!

Michelle- Glad you had a nice weekend with the family and Capone slept in a bit for you. I hope the TOM tireds go away soon...ugh, it's either that or the cravings that get me!

Kara--Glad school is going well and you are doing so good on the tests! Goes to show you're enjoying what you're studying! Keep it up! BTW, what is your next rotation? Are you doing STS soon? I'm hoping to get a rotation going that someone else is doing too (or at least a part of it). Makes it more fun!

    Have a great day!

    Afternoon ladies,

Capone did much better this morning which I truly appreciate unfortunately once I'm awake it is soooo hard to go back to sleep. Today has been productive as the little one and I sunk our teeth into some good schoolwork..she is getting so good at using phonetics to read words and started to read beginner books two weeks ago. It is funny because we went to the school last week and she told the asst. principal that she will be skipping Kinder and going into 1st grade:laugh: My eldest did that and it seems as if she thinks it is required also. Scary....I told her that it is not necessary whichever works for her but I guess this is what having an older sibling sometimes brings out:ohwell: Yes TOM is kicking my butt physically but I have been handling the craving monster really well this week......yikes the wierd changes of aging I say:laugh:

Erika-Fall weather is here but it is sooo cold and dark here at 5:00 that I never get out the door for that morning walk with the dog. I may need to jump on my treadmill too. Oohhhh the thought of sleeping in.....I wish!

Laurie- Yes I can't wait for daycare:laugh: I looked at those clips and the only one that I like thus far is the LB blast. I thought intensity was just that as I haaaaate step videos so I will wait on those dvds for later this year. Plus there are so many others that she has anyway that I do not own yet:laugh:

Tami- Salmon is the only fish that I eat after 30 years of not eating fish:bigsmile: As I'm a worm phobe I was curious as to the lure b/c hubby always talk about fishing and I always cringe at the thought of worms:laugh:

Laurel- I don't know how you do it but more power to you. Have a safe trip to D.C. and enjoy the beautiful fall scenery for me:bigsmile:

    Have a great day,

My next rotation is going to be a "quickie" one, not my normal 90 days. I like to end the year on a more cardio focus (to help with holiday eating/celebrating) & will be using Michelle Dozios (spelling?) Peak 10 suggested rotation. It's basically doing Peak 10 Cardio 1x week. Peak 10 Cardio Strength 2x, 1 full body traditional weight workout & 1-2 steady state cardios per week. I have not tried the Peak 10 workouts so I don't know if there will be a dread factor. If so, I will take out 1 of the Peak 10 strength workouts & add in another full body traditional weight workout. I'm then FINALLY getting to STS at the beginning of January. I always start a new hard-core strength rotation each January. Although I tend to vary my workouts all the time, my basic formula of alternating cardio/endurance rotations with strength focused rotations seems to be a formula that works for me. Although right now I'm kinda alternating 1 week of strength focus w/1 week of more circuit/endurance. And I was just telling someone today that my abs haven't looked this good in a long time. My waist is smaller, my legs are smaller yet more toned....it has been a great rotation for me so far. Especially b/c with school my stress is higher & my eating hasn't been 100%.

Sorry for the incredibly long answer!!

    Hi Ladies ~

Today was just my evening workout of Spinning .... was a good class though so glad I got that in. Tomorrow a.m. will be STS Legs and hoping to get in a workout at home tomorrow evening.

Laurel: Hello! Great to hear from you. I am glad you have had a nice isit with your family and keeping up with your workouts during all of this is so fabulous! You are amazing. I have my fingers crossed and prayers out there for you that the house situation comes together in the perfect way for you guys!

Yes, I too hope I will enjoy Insanity and definitely want to follow your advice on not trying a full combo while doing say STS. So here is my question to you and also Laurie and Kara: Do you think it is a program that first needs to be done in its full rotation before using it as cardio pieces like you and Laurie do on cardio days? Just trying to figure out how i will go about it. I know I would really miss doing weight training (eventhough it would just be 2 mo.) but don't want to sabatoge my efforts either way. I know I still have time and it could always be a good post Holiday/New Year blast since our current rotation doesn't end until mid-Dec.

Laurie: Sounds like you are doing great with your P90X rotation so far. What Ab routine did you decide on? I am hoping tomorrow a.m. after Legs I will have a little extra time to do another Incredible Abs routine w/ Cindy W. I know what you mean on the Step portion of Intensity .... I too am crossing my fingers but thinking it didn't look too complicated!

Michelle:  Definitely no worms being used! That's really cute that your daughter is a motivatedlittle learner. Sounds like she is doing great. Good job on keeping away from those cravings and getting through your week. Hang in there! You'll be back to that good normal feeling soon.

Erika: I know what you mean on the posting times. :embarassed: I seem to be just getting on in the evenings since my DH is still gone. Good time to relax and catch up with you guys. Thanks on Insanity - I hope I like it too. I know you mentioned it just wasn't for you, but yes hoping from all I have heard I do enjoy it. Just figuring out how I will go about it.

Kara: That's excellent on your body truly showing you that your hard work is paying off and you have zoned in on a great rotation that works! I think that is what we all strive for. Great job :drinker: with school, stress, life, etc.... it's got to feel really great! Sounds like you have a nice rotation planned for the end of the year.

Hope you all had a great evening ~ I will chat with you all tomorrow!

    Tami:

When I did Insanity 'as is' I did add in upper body work 2x per week in month 1. I didn't feel I needed to (nor did I have the energy to) do that in month 2. I have a type-A problem where I feel the need to do rotations 'as is' on my 1st go around. That being said, doing Insanity as is made me DREAD those workouts. So much so that I can't really bring myself to do them anymore. Of course I followed up my 1st Insanity rotation w/a p90x/Insanity hybrid, so I did alot of Insanity there for awhile. Personally I think Insanity as is is overkill. I think it really, really SHINES as a program when mixed with other things (say, doing Insanity just 3 days a week or something). I'm actually thinking of doing STS/Insanity. My suggestion if you do it as is, is to do it & then step away from it for awhile. It got old fast for me. & that's a shame b/c the workouts ROCK. (And if you have bad knees or a bad back, I would just go ahead & suggest not doing it as is)

    Morning Ladies,

Well I changed up my week and did yoga today with Eion's Power Yoga for Happiness, and I went for the full 80 min. workout. It really reminded me of YogaX, but with better flow. Love Tony, but Eion really does a great job with yoga. Last night I worked out with Tony and did the One on One Med Ball Cardio Core workout, which was actually a lot of fun. The only part I didn't like was that Tony really didn't say what exercise he was doing, so you had to watch for a few seconds before you could do the exercise. He did 4 exercises per round, and there where 4 rounds. He did the first round at the end of the workout. Hoping to get my Insanity Fast & Furious today, because I need a short intense workout. Going into work early tomorrow, because my youngest dd has an appointment at 5pm to get fitted for her new pointe shoes.

Erika, I spend a lot of time creating rotations, and some of them have worked out some have flopped. :blushing: It is always fun to try creating something though. Sounds like you could try something different every week! Now that is a way to mix it all up.

Michelle, That is so great that your young one is so motivated with the school work. :drinker: Those cravings are horrible, hope you are able to keep them at bay! My doggy is off at for her daycare day today, and she was talking all the way on the drive there! I was really happy to hand her off to the workers, because she missed last week and of course she was ready to go today. Feel sorry for the workers sometimes. :noway:

Kara, I will be interested in how you like the Peak 10 workouts. I'm interested in getting those, because I really like Michelle. I just have so many workouts that it is getting harder and harder to make sure I use as many as I can. I'm thinking that I will have to get rid of the ones I know I will not use again. :frown:

Tami, I wonder if I will be doing the double workouts when I don't have to take care of kids! I actually got DH to make dinner last night, I don't think that he has cooked in years. Of course it was just grilling some center cup pork chops, and he made himself and the girls mac n cheese! :noway:  Ok on to more serious stuff. I'm enjoying Insanity a lot more just doing it three days a week. I'm glad that I did the full Insanity rotation, but like Kara said it did get old after a while. Right now I feel like I could do this upper body weight work, and use Insanity for cardio for quite a while. It could change though. I don't know that doing all that cardio hurt me, it sure got me slim in the stomach. The workouts do really compliment the Classic P90X rotation really well. They all have upper body work like planks in them, so that can make them harder if you have done an upper body workout the day before or that very day. I don't see why you couldn't insert some of the Insanity workouts in your current rotation, just sub what you would have done on a cardio day or keep it for your post holiday/new years blast. I want to try out the Incredible Abs 3, that one looks like fun.

Laurel, Totally cool to hear from you! I'm very excited that you will be getting into your new home, hope all the furnishings are there or get there as quickly as possible. Has to be hard living in an empty house and waiting, I'm sure it will be wonderful for you to get back into a routine.

    Have a wonderful day!

Hi Ladies! Quick pop in to say hi! Today I managed to pull my butt outta bed for my P57 workout...so hard to get up when it's dark, and cool outside and everyone is sleeping!

Kara-Can you tell me what workouts you are doing right now? I'm curious, as it sounds like fun! I want to incorporate Kettlebells still somewhere (have some DVD's and the kettlebell, just haven't tried it yet), and also thinking about STS, and more P57 into the next couple months...ahh the possibilities are endless!

Tami--Spinning = fun! I still haven't tried it, but I know I'd like it if I had somewhere to go to try it out. My hubby's club offers it, but it's during the day, nothing at night or early AM. Ugh! Let me know how you like Insanity! I do agree with Kara's comments. I tried to do it as laid out, which is probably why I couldn't do it. It was just too much for me! I have to be very careful with anything high impact too, as I run into problems with my knees, feet and ankles. Not sure what that's all about, but my mom says that everyone in her family has major knee problems (including her), so I better watch it!

Laurie--Good choice on the Yoga. I bet it felt GREAT! I didn't even know there was a Fast and Furious for Insanity...that sounds more like what I could handle. I like the 20-30 minutes tops for any really intense workouts.

Michelle--You keep that Capone in line! I think he needs to see Drill Sargeant Michelle! Love the comment from the little one, but I'd be thinking the same if I saw my older sibling get to skip a grade! I bet she's got such a good teacher that she'll get to do the same! My boys didn't start reading until Kindergarten--what a rockstar reader!

Well, back to work. Have a good one!

Kara-Can you tell me what workouts you are doing right now?

    My weeks look like this:

Week 1: The "endurance/functional strength week" (p90x+ is more body-weight, lighter weight work vs regular p90x)

Mon: Bob Harper Pure Strength (its more of a lighter weight/endurance type strength workout)
Tues: KCM Circuit Burn...the full 60 minutes
    Wed: P90x+ Upper body+ and Kenpo+ or Intervals+ (I alternate Kenpo+ and Intervals+)
Thurs: "Open"...my hubby does a long run & I use this day for whatever cardio & yoga I feel like, usually something kinda light. Also a good time for me to try out new workouts that my hubby would never do, like step or dance, etc. Sometimes Thurs also becomes an unplanned rest day if I feel like I just really need it.
Fri: P90x+ Total Body+ and Cathe Circuit Blast
    Sat: Kettlebells: AOS Newport

    Week 2: The "power/strength week"

Mon: P90x Chest & Back and Cathe Hiit
Tues: Plyo x (earlier in the rotation this was Core synergistics b/c Mon was X Back & Bi)
Wed: P90x Shoulders & Arms and Cathe Hiit (earlier in the rotation this was X Chest, Shoulders, Tri)
    Thurs: OPEN
    Fri: P90x Legs&Back
    Sat: Insanity of choice

I alternate these 2 weeks back & forth. Sundays I either do nothing or do an hour of yoga. I do 20 minutes of yoga most days of the week & I do basically no "ab specific" workouts...although Newport has some ab floorwork in it. All of my core work comes from functional strength type moves done during the regular workout (from balancing, plank, swinging a kbell, etc). Not only has the above rotation done wonders for my abs/waist, my hubby said this rotation in particular has given him major strength gains in his pull ups. If you want to know the basic logic behind each dvd choice & why it is placed where it is, just let me know...I do a ton of research for these dang rotations!

    Hi Ladies ~

Today was STS Legs #20 & for cardio this evening I did HiiT 40/20.

Kara: Thanks so much for your comments on Insanity. I am still not sure how I will go about mixing it in .... but will work it out. My hesitation on all of it is just as you mentioned. Being bored or dreading it w/ the repetition & overkill. I have completely loved the variety of this Undulating rotation and definitely don't want the dread factor. I will have to just check it out and see. From the feedback of those of you who have done Insanity I would think the STS/Insanity rotation would be really great. Your current rotation you listed here looks really great, definitely a lot of variety! That is so great you and your DH work out together.

Erika: Good job on getting in your workout! It is tougher to get up forsure on those cool Fall mornings. Isn't that the truth on the "possibilities of rotations being endless" - I do love it that we all share in the passion of our DVD's and endless rotations to figure how to get them all in. Spining is definitely a fun workout. Some people may disagree but I enjoy it. The more I have done it the better form, etc I have learned and it helps, like with any workout to be able to push harder and it does strengthen your legs/endurance forsure. If you get a chance sometime ~ give it a try. I'll keep you all posted on Insanity forsure. It will be a little while I think until I get it into my rotation . . . if I don't like it I know the good news is that it will sell on Ebay!

Laurie: Thanks for the comments as well on Insanity. I appreciate it. I definitely don't want it to be a dread factor as I mentioned and kind of thinking I should have ordered the Fast & Furious. :frown: The good news is that I did get it on a good deal & hoping after I preview them, etc. I will probably be able to decide how they will come together in my ever growing library! Again, I will say that I am so glad we all share in that! I bet YOGA felt great today, you are very faithful with getting that in. That's excellent!

Hi Michelle - Hope you had a good day and Capone is behaving. Tomorrow is his big day at daycare right?!?

    Hi Laurel :flowerforyou:

I will check in with you all tomorrow a.m. ~ I am off tomorrow and headed over to visit my 93 yr old Grandma and my dad who is visiting from Costa Rica. I will spend the weekend at her house, which will be great because I haven't seen her since she moved from here 4 years ago and my dad I haven't seen for nearly 3 years.

    Talk to you all tomorrow!
    Tami
