Morning Ladies,
Quick drop in as I'm working on a contract this week which is great b/c I can get a paycheck this month and pay for those dvds:laugh: I also purchased a new suit fo rthe interview and some boots too as I'm going to cold weather:blushing: ..okay that is crap they match the suit:laugh: Capone probably triggered my shopping spree with his crazy behavior .
Arghh Capone went on a wild running rage and ripped his wound open and here we go again. In my rage with my eldest I threatened to sell him:blushing: I'm just soooo tired and frustrated and tired of cleaning blood spots or stopping him from licking the spots:noway: I need to call the vet and see what plan B is but unfortunately this contract will run until Friday. Along with that he has a new 1:30, 2:30, 5:30 wake up call and he is not going to the bathroom...he just wants to come out of his crate and sleep on the pillow:sad:
Laurie- I'm glad the cheesecake was a hit...yummo! Although the eldest did not qualify she tried her best and that is awesome:drinker: German food....german potato salad sounds good right now:laugh: Facebook...my goddaughter was granted that for her birthday in Jume...she is only 11 but would call me and complain b/c her other friends all had FB already and her mom said No. At least you can have her add you as a friend and monitor from a distance
Erika- I'm sorry you had one of those weekends. I think that you are making a difference even if it includes breaking horrible news at times:flowerforyou: I completely understand as I also felt that way during my real estate career. I loved working with low income/low credit families and getting them into an affordable house but eventually the emotional drain that occurred had me dreading waking up to drive into work everyday. Eventually it was not worth the long hours, constant calls, attitude, and crazy behavior that people will display even to those that are trying to help them. I hope that this week brings some better vibes.
Kara- Dang it woman...now I need to visit Target:laugh:
Tami- Way to go on that rest day. Enjoy your class tonight
Ok off to work,

Hi Ladies ~
Nice weekend & glad to have my hubby home …. Did a bunch of laundry to help with the arrival and clean up of trailer but that’s ok. He cleaned while I did laundry. Rained all weekend and is still raining so that’s fine, kept me busy. The neat & tidy home is not quite as neat & tidy from the “unload” going on  but it's all good. He absolutely noticed and loved it.
As I mentioned, Yoga X was Sat. Yesterday was Volleyball league in the a.m., which was fun to be back – we won 6 out of 6 games! :drinker: So that was a good way to start the season. After v-ball I went home and did Butts & Guts. This a.m. was STS #10 (Chest/Shoulders/Biceps). Feels good to be back into the rotation. I know, I’m obsessed! Tonight will be Turbo Kick.
I will just say to all of you ….. I am glad we are all Shopaholics on the DVD’s!  So funny. I love it. It’s great that we share in that passion and again I will say THANK goodness I’m not alone.
Kara:  on the shocking news of my complete REST day. I think I surprised a few of you here. Yes, it is nice having my hubby home. That was a long time and he is very glad to be back too. Great find at Target! How exciting to find such a great deal ~ gotta love that! Good job on your paper and scoring 100%. You are doing so well in school, I hope you are feeling proud of yourself and what you have accomplished so far.
Erika: I’m sorry your weekend wasn’t all that it could be and you were feeling the sads.:frown: I hate it when that happens ….. it is hard to do just about anything. I have found for me, it is most often work related as well when I go through that and then it shifts and gets better. I hope today is better and this week as well.
Michelle: That’s hilarious about the DVD’s and justifying those over a purse! Very fun, I bet you are looking forward to them and it will be fun to hear your reviews. Of course you have to have the new boots with the suit, a lady has to look her best for these special moments. I’m excited for you and can’t wait to hear how it goes. I’m sorry to hear about Capone :grumble:
Laurie: Good job getting in the workout on such a busy weekend! Probably with the extra food, it felt great to get that in. Sorry to hear about your DD and the CC meet. But fantastic that her attitude was so good. I bet you are very proud. I know receiving the new Cathe DVD’s will be like a teaser. I’m hoping to work in Intensity into the cardio portion though and Lower Body on leg day so that will be good.
Hi Laurel! Hope you are doing great in your new home.
Talk to you all tomorrow! :flowerforyou:

Hi ladies!!
I'm all settled into our new home! :drinker: Okay, we're still waiting on two shipments (stuff we stored while in Korea and the last bit of essentials that left Korea when my husband did) and some new furniture (YAY!), and still have to hang curtains and such.....but I feel VERY settled right now and that's a great thing. The move-in went surprisingly well (we have a very tight stairway, and I was concerned about our furniture fitting up it....but it did), and we had NO damage (the first for us!). So that made me happy. The movers were most impressed by the set of weights they were moving in and complimented my husband on them. When he said they were mine, they didn't believe him. What is it with guys not believing that women can lift weights? But they took care of them, they are in place, and they were ready to be used by Sunday morning.
But by Sunday morning, I was physically exhausted. My husband was leaving for this week on Sunday morning, so we were at the unpacking until midnight both Friday and Saturday trying to get as much done while he was here. I had told myself I'd do Legs and Glutes on Sunday to start this last phase of the undulating rotation, but I didn't have it in me. I did 4DS Kickboxing instead, and it was a perfect choice. The kickboxing part really loosened up my very tight body (especially my back) and my legs felt really strong on the weight section. Today I was still tired, but I did STS Disk 10, and it felt pretty good. I haven't lifted weights in 5 weeks, and my goal was to lift what was on my workout cards, but I had to go down in weight on a couple of things because my arms were shaking so badly. But it felt good. I finished it up with the cardio from Low Impact Circuit (and the abs section). I haven't done that workout in over 18 months, and it was perfect for a day like today. I think I'm going to try to do my final two Insanity workouts from this last rotation tomorrow and Thursday but do easier cardio on Wednesday and Friday as I ease my way back into lifting weights (and continue working on the house). I love my new workout area which is a real bonus.
Michelle, what part of Virginia will you be coming to? If it is anywhere near us, I'd be happy to meet you. Congrats on getting the job interview. I had my first 'fly to' job interview way back in 1987 when, as a 22 year old recent college grad, I had to fly right here--Washington DC--for a potential job with the Dept of Energy. Talk about nerves!! I hadn't even flown very often by then. But I got the job!! I didn't accept it (started working for the US Dept of Education in Denver instead), but I thought it was good despite the fact that I was a complete and utter mess of nerves for the interview. I'm so sorry to hear about the continuing issues with Capone. And let us know how you like the new workouts!
Tami, it is SOOOOOOO good to be back on rotation with you!!! It is amazing to me how doing this rotation with you has kept me motivated through some difficult times. I know I wouldn't have worked out either yesterday or today had we not been doing this together, and the great thing is that the workouts made me feel good! I would have missed that had I not pushed myself to do them. So thank you for doing this with me. I'm so excited for this final push through these last seven weeks. Glad your husband is back and you took some time to relax!!
Erika, I'm sorry to hear about your weekend. Your job does not sound like an easy one, and I can only imagine how that would wear on you over time. Just take care of yourself. I hope all went well with the meeting with your boss.
Laurie, I'm happy to hear the cheesecake was a hit!! Sorry to hear your daughter didn't qualify, but as long as she gave it her all, she has alot to be proud of. Your workout combos sound great!
Kara, thanks for letting us know about the new workouts. Let us know what you think about the Kettlebell workout when you've done it. I'm curious about good kettlebell workouts for when I do buy myself a kettlebell. This one sounds good since I'm sure she has the proper form.....something I'm definitely looking for.
Well, must run and do some more around the house. See you all tomorrow!
Laurel0 -
Thanks for all of your encouragement & support regarding school. I must say every so often I do question why in the world I'm doing this! & then I remember why it is exactly (to do something to honor my brother & help all the other folks out there who have trouble doing such a simple thing like breathing)...& then I feel a little proud of myself. I got my test back today from last week & I got a 92. Pretty happy.
Tonight I did P90X Back & Bi along w/Cathe Hiit 30/30.
Laurel: LOVE the new pic!!! How great that you're feeling so settled already!! I'm very happy for you. That has to feel good.
Erika: Sorry to hear you had a down in the dumps kind of weekend. Hopefully you're feeling a bit better now? Job stress/unhappiness is something I can relate VERY strongly to. I felt it for over 10 years. That's why in a way, being laid off was a positive thing for me. I always hate to hear of anyone else finding their job to affect their life that way. :flowerforyou:
Michelle: new suit & boots were a necessary purchase in my book!
Laurie: So sorry to hear DD didn't qualify, but that's still FANTASTIC that she was 1st on her team to finish!!
Tami: You can always count on me to be a dvd shopaholic! Here I am a full-time student who has been laid off for over a year & a half....STILL PURCHASING!! :blushing:
Well, tomorrow is my 1st clinical day at the hospital. I'll be doing oxygen rounds. Basically just following around a respiratory therapist so I can start to learn the ropes. I'm very nervous. Don't even really know why!!??0 -
Hi Ladies-
Just a quick pop in to say hi! I am feeling out of the dumps, but so very, very tired. I slept for 10 hours last night...ugh! I skipped my workout this morning, and will hopefully pick it up this evening. I started a Kelly Coffey Meyer rotation on Sunday, and I think it's really what I need. I think I was getting burnt out with the hour+ long workouts, and am just focusing on KCM 30 minutes to fitness workouts for now. We'll see where I go after that. I keep remembering back to before I started working out (prior to 1/1/2009) and I was at the same weight I am today (and it's a happy weight for me), but I didn't workout. Just watched what I ate (no tracking though), and stayed active with walking the dog, dancing around the house with the boys, etc. I realized that my body does not respond well to long workouts. I did lose about 15 pounds last fall, but I had to keep my calories around 1400/day plus do doubles to get there, so knew it was nothing I would maintain long term. So, I've decided to try out the 1/2 hour workouts to see if that is something my body likes better. With that to help tone (and keep my muscle built during STS), and watching what I eat, I should be good. Plus, I can get an extra hour of sleep each morning, and more time with my boys!
Laurel--GREAT photo--check out those shoulders!! Wowsa! So glad to hear you are all settled in  I'm sure you feel soooo much better now, I know I would! Good job on taking the rest when needed, but getting back to it when it's time! Someday I'm going to tackle the Undulating rotation...for now I'll just read about it through you and Tami!
Kara--So glad school is going well for you and you are setting out to do something you love. It's sad, but I've secretly been hoping I get laid off. I know it won't happen, as I'm in a territory that is very busy, but some days I just want a reason to not have this job. I love being able to get out and meet my clients, and the social interaction, but I feel like I don't have any good news to share with them like I have in the past. I had left the insurance industry back in 2007, but dove back in in 2009, and now am kicking myself. I am trying to get into wellness coaching through my company though. I just have to figure out how to get "qualified" for a job here.
Laurie--Ahh, that German food sounds good. Yummy! Bummer that DD didn't qualify for state, but sounds like she still kicked butt!!! Not sure the credit/collection guys threatening the law suits is much better.
Michelle--Sounds like you've got a busy week...I hope Capone is doing ok too. Busy week, plus doggie issues, and stress for upcoming interview is a lot to deal with. I bet you will rock that interview (esp. with your new suit and boots!). Go girl!!!
Tami--What a nice weekend to have your hubby home and that he appreciated the neat and tidy house. My hubby will notice if I make sure he sees me doing it...otherwise I think he just expects it. But, cleaning has always been my stress reliever. When hubby saw me scrubbing down walls and odd things like that, he knew I was having a bad/stressful week/weekend. That's a sure sign! But, I feel better after doing it, so it's all good.
Ok, back to work. Off early today for dentist appointments, and then gonna get my hair colored. I need some pampering!0 -
Morning Ladies,
This morning was Insanity Pure Cardio and Ab RipperX. As you can see I didn't get the ab workout done last night, just not enough time after grocery shopping and preparing dinner.
Michelle, Of course a new suit and boots are definetly a requirement! You will do great, but totally understand being a bundle of nerves. I have put off the facebook thing for quite some time, but she has been bugging us and I needed her room to be cleaned out. I monitor my oldest, so will do the same for the youngest. Sorry to hear about Capone!
Tami, Oh ya total DVD adict here! :blushing: Hey a girl need variety, I don't know how anyone could keep doing the same thing over and over. I'm saving some of my purchases for totalfitnessdvd.com Thanksgiving sale. She gives % off, depending on how much you purchase. I'm getting the Peak 10 workouts during that time, and a kickboxing DVD I have on my wish list.
Laurel, Love the pic! Glad the move in went well, with no damage done. I would be a lazy girl after doing all that moving. WTG getting those workouts in. You will be back to the same weights pretty quick, muscle memory and all that. LOL about the movers thinking those weights are for the guy! NOT!
Kara, WTG on the test. Wonderful to hear that you are already into clinicals, that has to be scarry and exciting at the same time. I feel like a whimp, you added Hiit with the weight work!
Erika, I think that I can say I have gone through the same thing! You feel like you are doing so much, but then that weight creaps up again. I was working out this summer, but still managed to put on the pounds. I was not as strict with my food as I am during the faire off season. I think being tired and stressed does contribute to that too. Keep experimenting with workouts, and you will get into a combination that will click with you and your body.
Have a great day!

Morning ladies,
Last night my cardio was Just dance 2 and that Russian routine has your heart rate and your thighs screaming:laugh: At the end of the dance all three of us fell on the floor panting. Then hubby walks in and looks at me and says why are you still breathing hard:grumble: We were so pleased with this game that on Sunday I sent hubby and the girls to buy the game for us with two trades...they only gave us $8 bucks for two games that sell for 25.00 new:grumble:
Erika- After p90X last year I truly felt the same way..all of my hardwork and nothing was changing and yet my body was tired. Plus double routine gets old and makes you hungrier:bigsmile: . This morning I had to drag myself out of bed although I was alseep by 11pm,,,of course Capone pulled his usual routine but it was hard to get started this morning. We all know that abs are made in the kitchen so focus on your meals and do a short routine just to maintain muscle gained and for cardiovascular benefits. My BFF does nothing and maintains a size 4 just from eating when hungry and running back and forth to activities with the kids. Yeah she sucks big time and is actually smaller now compared to HS when she was a cheerleader and gymnast with huge thighs.
Laurie- Thanks for the info on totalfitness. I will hopefully not purchase anything else but if I have to..then I will wait for the Thanksgiving sale
Laurel- Love the new picture! I'm going to Ft. Lee...not sure how far that is from you. Happy to hear that you fell as if things are falling into place. Enjoy arranging and decorating the new place.
Kara- Keep up the great work! Hmmnn I was also looking at those new Coach bags but I tried to stay focus and only bought the suit, boots, and a weekender bag. Dvds are so much cheaper:laugh:
Tami- A clean house is always a great place to be

Good Afternoon Ladies ~
Tuesday’s seem to be my hardest day to get up …. Not sure why, but at any rate after a couple “snooze” moments I only had time for a shorter cardio so I did HiiT Pyramid and this evening will be Spinning right after work.
Laurel: Hello Miss Beauty! Love your new photo, very nice. Sounds like you are getting settled into your new place and that is fantastic. I bet it feels great and good that you have a workout area that suits your needs. Hilarious that the moving guys thought those weights were your husbands. Despite the tireds & all the unpacking it sounds like you got in some good workouts, good job! That is such a nice thing to say. :blushing:  I am very glad that I have helped to keep you motivated and going in this rotation ~ my pleasure. Your hard work and dedication through very challenging times have truly given me motivation as well. So right back at ya on the THANK You. From the very beginning I have been soooooo glad to be in this rotation together. Hard to believe we are in the last 7 weeks! :flowerforyou:
Kara: Excellent ~ If I am ever feeling guilty on a purchase and need some justification I will just send you a message! Hope today goes good with the respiratory therapist. Good job on the other test, that is excellent. :drinker: Eventhough it is hard work it sounds like you are in the place you are supposed to be … doing very well and enjoying it, what a bonus!
Erika: Glad to hear you are feeling better. The sads can kind of wipe a person out that’s forsure, good that you got some sleep and are moving forward with a different style of workout. KCM is great and the 30 Min to Fitness workouts are good ones, they fly by! Just keep on keeping on – I know I have been through the same thing as well. I think we all go through adjustments to get our bodies to respond. Stress definitely plays a roll as well, so good on ya for figuring out what you need right now.
Laurie: Thanksgiving Sale – Yahoo! I will have to check that out ~ of course. Crazy if I don’t!  That’s right, variety is the key to our fitness success! Good job getting Ab Ripper in this a.m. – isn’t it amazing how fast the evenings go? I say that and I don’t even have kiddos to take care of. I commend all of you ladies who do and still get it all done! Super Women you are! :drinker:
Michelle: Sounds like you are having a blast with those dance games & your daughters. How fun! Hope things are good and you are getting all prepared for your interview! You will be a star, no worries.
Hope everyone has a great day! :flowerforyou:

Hey ladies!
Just time for a quick check-in. Thanks for the compliments on my new photo! :flowerforyou:
I found out late yesterday that another shipment of stuff was arriving today. I most definitely was NOT in the mood to see another box.....but they were headed my way whether I wanted to see them or not. So I started off my day with Insanity's Max Interval Plyo. One more workout in this Insanity rotation. YAY!!! :drinker: And then the truck arrived with more stuff to unpack. Actually, I'm happy to have things like my stability ball and coffee pot back in my possession, but I have to admit that for the first three hours of unpacking, I was muttering to myself 'Please make this stop. Just please make it all stop.' I think I've moved WAY to much over the past year. I'm resorting to muttering to myself. But it is all done (minus a little bit of laundry) and I'm off to eat ice cream while watching The Biggest Loser. :blushing: What can I say....it's been that kind of day.
I'll hopefully have time to write more tomorrow. See you then!
Laurel0 -
Good Morning Ladies! I managed to sleep through my alarm again (not sure how I did that?!??!), but still had enough time to do my KCM workout this morning...Cardio Blast Athletic Step. I don't know if my blood sugar was low or what, but I had about 3 near fainting spells, so I had a lot of rest periods! But, I made it through!
Laurel--I'm sure you are sick of seeing boxes...ugh! I hope you're done with them, or at least near the end. I don't blame you for taking a rest with some ice cream and Biggest Loser!!
Tami--This dark in the morning crap is really making it hard to get outta bed. I don't remember last fall being this bad! Glad you were able to get in some Hiit and spinning last night too!
Michelle--Sounds like we are on the same wavelength...our bodies like less intense workouts! I always thought my body would respond well to hard workouts, but looking back at how much I was working out last fall and watching what I was eating VERY closely, I should have been in tip top shape, but I don't think I was really that much better than now...at least I finally figured this puzzle out, and now I know what to focus on!
Laurie--Thanks for the words of wisdom...it's so interesting how our bodies are all so different, and what one workout does for one person could be entirely different for the next! Good job on Insanity and Ab Ripper yesterday!
Kara--Good morning!
Well, off to get ready to work. Hope I don't blow away in these terrible winds!!! I can handle pretty much any weather, but wind and rain are not on my "like" list. On a good note (for me and my boys), we woke up to snow flurries and needless to say, we were very excited. We love winter--for the snow aspect--my husband, on the other hand, would rather live in Arizona or somewhere hot. At least I've got 2 out of 3 on my side!0 -
Good Morning Ladies,
Last night I set the coffee pot because Turbofire had arrived and I was siked to do this workout. Mr. Capone my ne walarm clock did not wake up at all:noway: and actually slept in until....drumroll people 6:25 when I opened his crate:laugh: Last night I gave him his allergy pill with a 1/2 cup of dog food 30mins befoer lights out and then I created his cave ambience..yeah it was pretty nice to sleep in
Ok so yesterday was Tracey and my obliques are screaming:bigsmile: TF was good but not all the hype:ohwell: very similar to Turbojam with different combos, the music was okay but dang she had some old songs in there which sucked. I paused twice for 30 secs but completed the entire 55minutes with my BB gloves:bigsmile: Tomorrow will be The Firm: Calorie Explosion which I previewed last night and the heart rate is definitely elevated with some of those moves. Next time I do TF I will use my own music
Laurel- Hopefully these are the last boxes
Erika- Enjoy the flurries..my girls would love to see that and we are contemplating taking them to NM for snowboarding and skiing next year.
Tami- Yes..it is a panel interview which I have done before but it has been a while since I have been out in the workforce and dressed up:laugh:
Laurie- How is the hybrid routine going....tired yet?
Off to shower and sign in for another day.
Michelle0 -
Morning Ladies,
P90X Back & Biceps for me this morning, I forgot to set my alarm clock so I woke up about 20 min. later than usual. Will have to get the ab workout done after work or tomorrow. Have a dance class tonight for the youngest, so don't know if I will have time. Had time last night to get a little housework done, and play Wii Indiana Jones with my youngest, and we advanced to another level in the game. Can't believe I spent so much time playing a game, but it was fun to have some time with my baby girl.
Tami, I felt like superwoman last night, must be the increased carbs that I'm getting in this phase of the P90X nutrition program. At first I was wondering if I should have just stayed on the first phase, because I'm starting to get the munchies. :grumble: Yesterdays energy was much better than I have had the last four weeks though.
Laurel, Do you have anymore shipments coming that you need to unpack? Hope that one takes a little longer to get to you, but at least you have some useful tools for your workouts. :drinker: Yum on the ice cream, seems you deserved that little treat.
Erika, Must be that wind howling around the outside of the house that you didn't even hear that alarm. It is amazing how much noise is going on outside for these past two days! :noway: We got the cold, but no snow for us. I'm happy with that. Dang on the near fainting during the workout, that had to be a bit scarry.
Michelle, :drinker: On having to wake Capone up for once! I saw your calorie burn for that workout, and was amazed. You where really working hard, sorry to hear that the music wasn't as good as it could have been. I'm actually enjoying the hybrid, I think putting in Shaun T. for cardio has been a life saver. Tony is really good at the weights, but working out with him for 6-7 days in a row can get boring. I have not done the Leg & Back workout at all, so that might be a plus too. Energy is picking up for me this week, since I added in one more carb!
Have a wonderful day!
Laurie0 -
Hi ladies.
This has been a pretty low energy day for me, but I think that's probably to be expected right now. I did STS Disk 12/Legs this morning, and it felt good. I expect to be sore tomorrow since I'm routinely sore after Meso 1 leg workouts but, right now, I feel pretty good all things considering. I took a break between workouts to get some things done around the house (of course) and then did MMA Boxing. It wasn't much of a cardio challenge for me, but it felt really good and I really got into the punching part. Must have been thinking about all of this moving I've done this year. Tomorrow is my last day of Insanity. I hope I feel more energetic than I did today. Of course, my energy levels probably haven't been helped by the fact that it has been raining all day.....and very warm. I actually had to turn the AC on because I broke into a sweat this morning just eating my oatmeal. :noway: It's supposed to cool off by Friday.
Michelle, did you get the entire TurboFire system or just one workout? I never did TurboJam before, so I didn't have that to compare it to. I'm glad I didn't because, from what I've read, those who did TurboJam were disappointed in TurboFire. Sounds like one or the other system is fine but both are overkill. Great news that you were able to sleep in!! I hope that continues.
Erika, I must admit to being a tad jealous of your snow flurries, but not the wind! Hope things calm down soon. I totally understand about taking the intensity of your workouts down a notch. I usually do high intensity simply because I enjoy it but, to be honest, I don't see any difference in my physique/weight/etc when I do a high intensity program like Insanity. But those workouts make me feel better mentally, and that's important to me. I think it is important to do what works best for you as long as you are doing a little something that keeps your body moving. I think you're lucky because you enjoy resistance training so much because if I were to say there is one 'must' to working out (especially as we age) it is some form of resistance training. But you've got that covered so you're all good in my opinion!!
Laurie, we have one more shipment due in and that's the stuff we had the Air Force store while we were in Korea. While it contains a couple of things I want (like a dining room table), most of it is stuff we had in the garage like garden tools and such. So it won't be as difficult to unpack as the other shipments have been....thankfully. I just want it here so we can finally say 'We're done!' It was supposed to be here last Friday, so who knows where it is at right now. My husband isn't here and isn't in a situation where it is easy for him to check on it. Last time we stored stuff with the government, they auctioned it off. (The day we learned that wasn't a great day, that's for sure), so I don't hold a whole lot of faith that we'll see any of this stuff either. I hope we do.....but who knows. Great job on the workouts. I totally agree with you about Tony Horton and doing him every other day as opposed to every day. It sounds like this program is working out really well for you. Hooray on the increased energy!!!! Send some my way. :ohwell:
Tami, hope you're doing well!! I'm thinking of starting my next rotation off with a month of circuit workouts. Have you (or anybody) ever done a month of just circuits?
Kara, hope school is continuing to go well. I'm curious to hear how your first day of rounds went!!! I would have been nervous too, but I'm sure you did fine.
Hope you all have a great evening!

Good Afternoon Ladies ~
This a.m. was STS #12 (Legs) .... felt good and like always, I enjoy leg workouts! Tonight is Spinning again.
Laurel: I can only imagine the "wiped out" feeling you must be having with all the unpacking, etc... I think moving in itself truly just tires a person out. :ohwell: Good job on getting in Legs & MMA though, I bet it gave you a spark of energy. Awesome to know that you only have one more shipment "if" it truly arrives, which I hope it does so you have all your things and can be DONE! I haven't done a rotation of just circuits, but it definitely sounds fun! I really enjoy the circuit/endurance based workouts. I never did ask, did you buy the "new" Cathe workouts that are coming out soon? I am wondering if she will have a new rotation with these as well or if she has a Circuit Based Rotation posted?
Laurie: Good job on the workouts! It sounds like you are liking this combo of P90X & various cardio. That is great you have found an eating plan that is giving you extra energy. It must be just what you are needing right now Are you sticking right to the nutrition guide for P90X then? Sounds like you had a fun night playing the Wii games with your kids!
Michelle: Whoa there on the calorie burn! That is awesome ~ good job! :drinker: Great news on Mr. Capone and the full night sleep! :drinker: Excellent ... I hope it happens again tonight for you. Sorry to hear about TF not being what you hoped for. Maybe listening to your own music will help!
Erika: Glad you had just enough time to still get a workout in! Your weather doesn't sound like the most fun .. we are having cold temps and the gray skies after several days of rain, rain & more rain. I prefer snow over rain but just not quite ready for that. :noway:
Kara: Hope your rounds went good!
Take care everyone & have a great rest of your day! :flowerforyou:
Tami0 -
Hospital oxygen rounds went very well on Tuesday. It was not as boring as I was expecting it to be! It actually got me even more excited to get out of this program & start being a therapist. I'm a day behind on my workouts, so last night I did P90X Core Synergistics & a new one for me called Dance w/me Cardio Fit by Billy Blanks Jr. After a very full day of studying today (tests both tomorrow & Monday), I will be doing P90X Chest, Shoulders, Tri & Cathe Hiit.
Laurel: Congrats on your last day of Insanity!! Hope your energy level is better today, but my goodness you've been going through alot of moving, unpacking, being unsettled, getting settled....I'd be worn out.
Erika: I just love KCM's workouts. I'm thinking this summer I will have to possibly use her exclusively due to my school schedule. I'll have 3 days a week where I'm at the hospital for 12 hours & 2 days where I'm in class for 6 hours!!! Maybe I'll just get fat instead. That sounds so much easier!! I'm still deciding which total body workout to use in my next rotation. I got KCM 30 MTF Weights from Netflix & really like it. I'm thinking of using that one. (Arizona btw is one of our favorite states! I'd love to live surrounded by that much hiking & no grass. I can't stand snow. I grew up in a beach town & the hotter the better!)
Michelle: Now you have me really confused on TF. The only reason I even kind of want it is b/c of the music, but you're wanting to play your own music w/it?! Ugh. I'm never going to be able to decide on this dang set!!
Laurie: Good for you following the p90x nutrition plan. I'm not sure I could do that again (although I probably need to). When I was doing my rounds, all these guys were talking about p90x & how they couldn't get past month 1, etc. They were blown away when I said I've done several rounds! It felt good to see the look on their faces!!
Tami: I think you should post a pic of just your legs. They must be phenomenal between Turbo Kick, spinning, & STS Legs!!!!! I have very muscular legs from years & years of track, cheering, dance & gymnastics. After my 1st round of p90X a friend commented that I was built like a gymnast. Thats not really the look I'm going for so I have to watch it with my leg work. On the flip side I feel like I could do 10000000 push-ups & never really see definition like some people do in their arms?!
Have a great day!0 -
Hello Ladies!
I woke up on time, got my KCM workout in (heavy weights) and today is my Friday, so I better be in a good mood!!! Tomorrow is a day off with the boys, and this time around I think we're going to stay home and just veg--movies and snuggles! I get exhausted on my days off where I"m running them all over the place, as I really don't get a day "off" then. That was the problem last week, I think!
Tami--I wish I enjoyed leg workouts as much as you. I am fortunate that the leg workouts I am doing are keeping my legs in decent shape, but I know what runs in my family (REALLY bad cellulite and spider veins) so I'm praying I don't get stuck with that. I have to keep a good mix of low weight leg work to avoid bulking too. My fave body part to work is still my arms. :blushing: I did buy Brazil Butt Lift, so I'm anxious to see what that does for the legs and booty!
Laurel--I'm so glad you are down to 1 shipment left, and I hope that one arrives instead of going to auction! :grumble: I am so very impressed with your workouts throughout this whole move. It has to be sooooo draining, and to still keep those workouts going is just amazing! Way to go!!:drinker: I'm always playing around with workouts to see what works best for me, and everyone is different, so I'm trying to take reviews of DVD's (as far as results) with a grain of salt, as I never know if my body will respond the same way. But, I do know two things: 1.) My arms/back respond well to heavy weights and 2.) My legs respond best to light weight. I'm still trying to figure out what kind of cardio my body prefers though! I'm sending some cooler weather your way (just had it the last 2 days), I hope you enjoy it!
Michelle--Nice that Capone slept in for you and you had a great calorie burn on the workout! I've heard the same about TurboFire, that it's very similar to TurboJam, just faster and different music. That's the main reason I didn't get it. But, still a good workout, I'm sure! The flurries were so nice...too bad it didn't stick. I LOVE the snow, so I'm anxiously waiting for a good dumping of snow!
Laurie--You are rocking those P90X workouts==way to go!! I bet you are going to see some awesome results from all of that hard work! I can't wait to hear your final results! What's up with all of us getting up late these days??!? Glad I'm not the only one!
Kara--I love Kelly too. I have to say I think she is my favorite instructor. I can't find anything that bugs me about her, and she knows how to pack a lot into 30 minutes. I just did Weights this morning...first time with that one, I love it! I have all her 30MTF DVD's now, and they are fun. I did LIFT yesterday and it was the Olympic Style Lifting yesterday...that was sure different and fun. I love how she always does something just a bit different so it's not the same as the other DVD's out there.
Have a great Thursday. I'll catch you all tomorrow!0 -
Morning Ladies,
I actually worked until 9pm last night b/c my youngest had swim class so I did a split option. While watching movies she wanted to practice her push-ups and then while I was doing some LB bar moves of course she had to emulate me Afterwards we did reversed push-ups which burned my triceps like crazy and she even said that back there felt tight when she did hers:laugh: She is my trooper This morning I woke up with my hip bone hurting so I did Lotte Berk basic 30min dvd which includes good stretching..definitely feeling lazy today. So far laundry is on, dishwasher loaded and I need to finish up bathrooms and vacuuming..today is a clean house day:bigsmile:
Erika- Yes when comparing the two, I actually think that I prefer CP3 in lieu of that one. Now I know that she has several dvds but on youtube that was highly recommended for the soundtrack which truly disappointed me...songs from Donna summers or remixes using other singers:noway: Then when a nice beat came on it would play briefly and then transition again into something else. I hate cardio so the music is key for me:ohwell:
Kara- Sorry for the confusion on TF but if you own TJ then the moves are all the same, caporeira, the wheel, the twist, and she has at least 4 or more combos in the 55mins. I don't know...I think the promo music hyped it up and then it was weak in comparison. Maybe with the entire set it will be better but this lady on Ebay who is also in the videos sold the ones out of her set that did not include her and I decided to try one. I really would like the Hiit dvds b/c everyone seems really excited about those but instead I will use my Intervals from Extreme which I really loved out of that program. Glad to hear that rounds were better than expected:bigsmile:
Laurie- I'm hoping to get some Wii time in today also with the youngest as she tends to miss our time together when I'm working at home. Dance party 2 it is for my afternoon cardio Carbs always makes such a mental difference that is why they are so addicting:laugh: I have been laying off for a few weeks so yesterday really tapped me out fuel wise:laugh:
Tami - I will try it next week with my playlist but I'm not even excited to put it back in rotation yet...The Firm Calorie Explosion is next...it seems to be a straight forward heart pumping interval dvd with 12 min segments that can be combined for a full 55min routine.
Have a great day! Off to eat breakfast and continue the cleanfest:bigsmile:

Morning Ladies,
Another day getting up late for me, but this time it was because of a power outage. I did manage to get yoga done, with One on One Fountain of Youth. Starting to really feel like Gumby, the yoga is really helping with my flexability. I still need to get the ab workout done tonight.
Laurel, My low energy days don't include workouts at all. WTG on getting those two workouts done. Hope that last shippment shows up for you. Last Insanity workout, guess you will be putting those on the back burner for a while. I'm back in love with Tony while doing these workouts, I know that sounds really corny. :blushing: My biceps still feel rock hard this morning!
Tami, I am following the portion approach on the P90X guide. That one is you eat 4 proteins / 2 carbs / 1 fat etc. That way I can eat what I enjoy during the day, instead of having to stick to a planned diet. I do like some of the recipes in the book, so do use those. I don't usually play the Wii, but my DH was doing a misserable job being dd's partner in the game that I took over.
Kara, Great new on the rounds, and that you enjoyed the time. LOL on those guys not getting through month 1  , and they think women are not strong enough. I wish I had been there to see their faces too, because this is my fourth round with the program. I only like the portion approach for the eating, the other plans are just way to tough to follow. A couple of days ago a car passed me on the freeway and it had a P90X sticker on the back window. :noway: I wanted to follow them and start talking exercise.
Erika, Guess we are all ready for daylight savings time, so dang dark in the mornings. WTG getting the KCM workout done, that weight workout is one of my favs of hers. Have a great time off tomorrow, my girls are off for the next two days. They where up later than I was last night.
Michelle, That is so great that your dd was working out with you. The more push-ups she does the better she will be able to do them later in life. Boy it sure doesn't sound like you are being lazy, you have gotten a lot of housework done already. Might have to get that Dance party 2 for the girls for Christmas, I'm thinking that they will have a blast with that one. Might help my DH learn how to dance better too. His moves are pretty horrible.
Have a wonderful day!

WHAT?! I didn't know these existed?! I NEED ONE!!0 -
Hi ladies. Well, I finished this Insanity rotation!!! :drinker: :drinker: I still wasn't feeling very well when I got up this morning, but I ended up having a really good workout. I did Max Cardio Conditioning followed by the stability ball abs segment on Butts and Guts. That was it for a workout today because I had some errands to run, and I really needed to work on some more things in the house. I did get out for a long walk this afternoon, though. I can't believe it is nearly 80 degrees outside (78 as I type) and Halloween is just a couple of days away. Crazy. But now, I'm getting ready to make some dinner and put my feet up for the evening. It's been a long week.
Kara, so happy to hear the rounds went well. I laughed when you said you might just get fat this summer because it would be easier!! Somedays, I feel the exact same way. But I can't seem to let that happen because I start hating the way I feel when I start putting on weight. Oh, well.
Erika, I totally agree with you about how people react differently to different workouts. I'm similar to you.....my legs respond better to lighter weights/more reps but my upper body loves the heavy weights. And my body certainly likes some exercises more than others. That's why I think it is so important for people to find a system that works for them. I really get annoyed when I read articles that imply there is only one effective way of doing something because, without a doubt, that just isn't the case.
Michelle, it really does sound like TurboJam and TurboFire are way too similar for both programs to be necessary or effective. And if you hate cardio, I can see why the music matters so much. I've gotten so used to working out with Cathe (who doesn't have the best music in my opinion) that I only really notice music anymore when it is really good. I tend to ignore it otherwise. That's kind of sad, isn't it?
Laurie, I'm definitely putting Insanity on a back burner for a little while. I was thinking this morning that I may not do any of these workouts again until I get through the undulating rotation. We'll see. I really do enjoy the workouts, but I'm also feeling a bit of a burnout with them. Last time I finished a rotation, I continued doing the workouts simply because nothing else challenged me enough. I'm curious if I feel the same way this time. I don't think I will. And I don't think it sounds corny about Tony at all. I find him intriguing....primarily because he is such a goof and doesn't mind being one!
Tami, I'm really curious what kind of rotation Cathe will suggest with these new workouts. They are pretty strength training intensive, so I'm sure she'll have to include other workouts as well. She has done a couple circuit rotations I believe. The one I did and am thinking of revisiting was from four years ago (I think it was October 2006) when she posted a rotation using only the workouts she released in 2006 (Butts and Guts, Body Max 2, Low Impact Circuit, Drill Max and Cardio Fusion). I love those workouts, and did the rotation a couple of years ago (and had great results). I'm thinking of doing it again just for the fun factor if for no other reason right now. And, yes, I'll be getting the new workouts!! :drinker:
Hope you all have a great evening!

Good Afternoon Ladies ~
This a.m. was Bob Harper’s Cardio Conditioning! Thanks again Kara for the suggestion on this one, really like it! Lerch in the background is pretty sad how tired he gets. I like when he calls the one lady “Miss It Doesn’t Hurt” – makes me laugh
Kara: That made me smile when you said I should post a picture of my legs. Not sure if I would describe them as phenomenal but thanks for the thoughts! I will see what I can do. I hardly ever have my picture taken; not for any reason in particular, just don’t - unless of course holding a fish on my husband’s boat & I’m bundled up in 3 layers of clothes! I know what you are saying on the gymnast legs; which actually I think gymnasts have very nicely toned legs but know what you mean when you don’t want the bulky look. I have definitely slimmed my legs down through this Undulating/Cycling/TK, etc. which is exciting for me & my arms as well. I even had a compliment recently from one of the trainers at the gym. :blushing: Sounds like you have a good combo of workouts going for today/tomorrow! I think we have all been there on the thoughs of “oh well, maybe I will just get fat instead” – it’s funny how we can think that sometimes. It would be easier, wouldn’t it? I just can’t imagine NOT working out.
Erika: I hope today ended up being a true day off w/ just relaxing with your boys! I think it is excellent that you are doing what you know works for you and your body … specifically upper/lower body styles. I am with Laurel on being able to figure that out vs. reading it and saying “this is the only way for “x” to happen”. I enjoy working shoulders for upper body the best. Maybe because they are the strongest part of my upper body!?  KCM workouts are great & I really enjoy her personality as well. I have quite a few of them and have definitely eye-balled that newest one out that Kara has talked about; I think you have it too ~ KCM 30 Min to Fitness Circuit Burn?
Michelle: That is adorable about your youngest joining you on the workout. I would be silently cracking up at the cute factor there! Hope your new FIRM workout goes well, sounds like it will be a good one. Hope you got all your cleaning done … that always feels good. Mr. Capone? What's he up to with his little mischievious life today?
Laurie: I bet you are going to see amazing results w/ following the eating plan and your rotation! Keep up the good work. Good job on your Yoga Thursday and getting that in despite the power outage! Yikes, already with the crazy weather.
Laurel: Congrats on finishing Insanity! :drinker: You deserve a nice relaxing evening with your feet up after this week! I bet the end of your Insanity rotation feels like a relief and a huge accomplishment all in one! Please send me some of those temps …. I would love that. We are in the high 30’s/low 40’s today and this evening. :frown: Brrrrr-rumba! Just not quite wanting this weather yet, but I do live in the Northwest where we get all 4 seasons so I try to just go with it as best I can. Yahoo on getting the new workouts … … I’m glad. There will be a few of us here who can share reviews, etc. I’m curious as well on what kind of rotations she will post w/ those. I am going to look that one up from Oct. ’06.
Hope you all have a great rest of your day & evening!
Tami0 -
Yippeee! I'm actually first for a change:laugh:
The Firm Calorie Explosion was great..intervals, athletic drills, plyo moves without all the intricate choreography, etc
I'm off to gymnastics with the little one so I will be brief.
Tami- Post that pic Capone slept until 6am which was great but now he is attacking the stove and grabbed a bag of turkey bacon yesterday morning and chowed down while I was upstairs:grumble: The 4 yr old is such a great helper..after herding him outside with a reprimand she helped me to clean up the scraps of paper littered throughout the family room:bigsmile: .
Laurel- Enjoy your break and drink a glass of wine for me too. Wow the weather sounds great for this time of year..maybe when I fly in next week I can skip my trench coat.
It is cold today so I'm having to revamp the outfits that I had picked out for today.
Will check in later:flowerforyou: Have a great Friday:bigsmile:
Michelle0 -
Morning Ladies,
Todays workout was Tonique! I'm going to keep that workout in the line-up for the rest of this rotation, it will be a great sub for P90X Legs & Back. Last night I did Jackie Warners Abs from her circuit workout. I'm liking the hybrid I created for this phase. I think that I'm enjoying this hybrid of P90X than doing the program as is. :drinker:
Kara, I don't know where they would have gotten that sticker, I'm wondering if it was something that they had made up. I looked on BB's site, and didn't see it as a item for sale.
Laurel, Enjoy putting your feet up for a while, you deserve it. Congrats on getting that last Insanity workout done, there is a sense of accomplishment when you start and end something. You may be getting some colder weather soon, it usually travels east. This morning was in the 20's for us! :noway: I'm ready to see what Cathe is going to create with these workouts too.
Tami, WTG on getting the compliment on your arms! :drinker: My dd told her bf that my arms where like steel! I'm just waiting for those steel arms to lose some more fat. Then everyone will be able to see the steel arms. I had heard that the guy in that DVD really overdoes the hurt factor.
Michelle, Don't you just love having to change you clothing idea. I have to start pulling out all my sweaters. That sounds like my kind of workout.
Have a wonderful day!
Laurie0 -
Ok so after waiting 1 week for my dang Bob Harper dvd, I ran to Walmart to buy more playdough for my little one and saw all of them for $9 or $10 dollars in the exercise section0
-
Happy Friday Ladies!!
Boy, am I glad this week is over with. It has been a long one. My husband gets home tonight, and that should make me feel a bit better. It has been odd getting settled into the house this week without him around. Things keep breaking and I think to myself 'DH can fix that...' and then realize that...um....no....I get to fix that. Oh, well. Anyhow, still feeling pretty run down today, but got a good workout in nonetheless. I did STS Disk 11 (Back/Triceps) and definitely felt stronger today in my upper body than I did on Monday. I followed it up with HiiT 40/20. That felt REALLY good!! I'm going to take tomorrow off and hopefully get back some more energy before starting on Meso 3 next week!
Michelle, now I'm going to have to check out Walmart and see if they are carrying those DVDs!! That's a good deal. Glad to hear Capone slept through the night, but he certainly is still being a puppy, isn't he? How wonderful that your little one is helping you out with him. You'll want your jacket next week when you come to Virginia. The highs next week are supposed to be in the 50s. Quite a change from this week, that's for sure.
Tami, how great that a trainer at the gym complimented you on your arms!!! That must have felt great. I'm really looking forward to the new Cathe workouts.
Laurie, I'm really impressed on how you are making this rotation work for you!!!
Erika and Kara, hope you are both doing well!
Have a great weekend everybody!!!
Laurel0 -
Happy Friday Everyone ~
STS #11 – Back/Triceps for me as well today. . . . I am planning on going to the Spinning class tonight on my way home from work for my cardio. I am hoping to get in some Yoga tomorrow and then of course Legs/Cardio/V-ball on Sunday.
Michelle: Dang it on the Bob Harper being $9. :ohwell: I got mine for $12 and some change on Amazon. Glad to hear your new FIRM Cardio Explosion was good workout! That’s excellent.
Laurel: Glad to hear your workouts went well. I bet you are enjoying getting back into your weights/weight workouts! Hope you get to enjoy your weekend a bit and not be doing too many “house” things.
Laurie: Awwww Tonique. I haven’t visited that one in quite some time. Might have to bring her back out for one of my Sun. leg days. So glad you are enjoying your P90X hybrid rotation. That’s great your DD says that. My DH often refers to me as “muscle beach” :noway:  I’m sure he means it in the best way.
Laurie/Laurel: Thanks on my “kudos” I received. Kind of funny because it was a trainer that teaches the spin class?! I was happy to receive a compliment; sometimes feel self conscious of my arms. :blushing:
Erika & Kara: Hope your week is ending up nicely and all is well!
Everyone have a great weekend and fun on Halloween with the kiddos if you celebrate! :flowerforyou:
Tami0 -
Happy Halloween:bigsmile:
We are going to the Church's halloween festival which is more a games and prizes approach versus trick or treating in our neighborhood. Unfortunately our area has become one of the hot spots to visit, so we tend to have a gazillion visitors who park on our main road and then trick-or-treat in the neighborhood:grumble:
Last year the girls loved the games and did not miss out on all of the candy so they are excited for tonight to come:laugh:
I did a medley of workous this afternoon...I guess I needed variety again MMA Boxing, Squeeze Waist routine and then Lotte Berk High Assets..well these assets are screaming alright:laugh:
While I was exercising dad took the girls to buy matching nail polish for the eldest as I had already bought the green one that the 4yr old requested to match her Tinkerbell outfit. Time to get the Ziti in the oven, jump in the shower and prepare for tonight's festivities.
See you tomorrow,
Michelle0 -
Hello Ladies!!!
Wow, I feel so refreshed and relaxed after a long weekend of really doing nothing (although I got my workouts in!). I needed it!
This morning was KCM Cardio Blast Plyo and I also did Cardio Axe from Brazil Butt Lift. I actually had contemplated buying the Zumba DVD set after reading such great reviews on it, but I think I've convinced myself NOT to get it now. I know it's different than Brazil Butt Lift, but I just don't seem to get into the latin music as much as I thought I would. At least I can cross another set off my list to not buy...I'm getting better and better at that!
Michelle--The church festival sounds like so much fun! They had one local church (not ours) that does that, but since it's 1 church in a very large town, I figured it was going to get a little crazy there, so decided to have the hubby take the boys out instead. They had a blast and are having more fun playing hockey (with a playdoh I handed out to trick or treaters and a jaw breaker!) right now than they are concerned about eating the candy! Nice job on the workouts the past couple days. I love how you did the split on the workouts the other day, what great way to get the workout in! Loved your variety yesterday. That has to have your body screaming today, I would imagine!
Tami--I gotta agree with everyone else, I bet you have some rockin' legs with all the leg work you do! I know I see great improvements/cuts when I just do an extra leg workout each week, can't imagine if I did TurboKick/Spinning and STS Legs each week!
Laurel--I hope you enjoyed your weekend with your hubby home. I can only imagine having to do all that yourself, on top of unpacking, getting your workouts in, and yet still getting all settled into your new surroundings. Once again, WaY TO Go on those workouts...you always manage to get them in no matter what life throws at you!
Laurie--Nice work on the Tonique workout. I have such a dread factor on those (except for the mat one), and can't figure out why. I remember really liking them when I did them, but now I can't get myself to do them again! Ugh!
Kara--Hello!
Have a great day ladies...I'm off to get the boys to school and then into the office I go!0 -
Morning Ladies,
Satruday I got in 10 Min. Solutions Knockout Body, for an intermediate workout this one is really fun. Perfect for the sore calf muscles I had after the Tonique workout. Sunday I layed on the couch watching football, just couldn't handle anything else. This morning was P90X Chest, Shoulders & Triceps along with Ab Ripper X. Feel much better about the P90X workout than I did last week, maybe it was just getting used to the workout again.
Michelle, I was at Walmart and didn't even go by the sports department, I will have to check those out. Might need to try out one of those Bob Harper workouts. Sounds like a fun party, how did the girls like it this year? WTG on the MMA Boxing workout, those are a lot like the workout I did on Saturday.
Laurel, So glad that you are feeling stronger. My DH is heading out to Boston this week, and our washing machine has been acting up. Hopefully it will not have to be run again until he gets back. I'm sure I could figure little fix it projects, but a washing machine is out of my scope.
Tami, Your Sunday Legs/Cardio/V-Ball sounds like one exercised packed day. Keep those nicely developed arms where everyone can see! No need to feel self concious. DH and I where at a party on Saturday night, and the hostess was wearing these spiked heels. She said that she exercised in them, and then told her friend that she was doing the pole dance exercises. Now that is one form of exercise that I'm steering clear of!
Erika, Glad you are feeling better from you relaxing weekend. I don't know how people could do that Tonique workout more than once a week. I know it could really get old fast. Zumba has never apealed to me either. I'm just not a hip wiggler!
Have a great day!
