Hi!! I'm still alive!! I'm getting VERY sick of studying though. I finish 1 test & then I have to start studying for the next test. UGH!! My workouts have been mostly on track though, but my eating is getting a tad out of control I think. I had stopped logging my food many months ago & now I think I'm going to start back w/it tomorrow.

Michelle: Sounds like Capone is improving?! I hope he continues to be a good boy for you!! Those muffins you made a few days ago sound fabulous by the way!!!!!!!! Thanks for your thoughts on Turbo Fire. I keep going back & forth with putting that on my XMAS wish list. I've never been so conflicted with a workout set.

Laurie: lalalalalalala (fingers in ears) Darn you with the Power Tower & Asylum talk!!!! Luckily we seriously cannot fit the Tower in our workout space, but I would LOVE to have it!!!!!!!

Tami: Hope you & your 'kids' are still enjoying some nice weather! (We are)

Laurel: You are wonder woman! I really don't know if I would be dedicated enough to stay on track with my workouts if I was in your situation. Not only are you staying on track, but you are ROCKIN' IT! Amazing!!

Erika: Hope you're feeling 100% better now. :flowerforyou:

On the schedule for today is an Insanity workout, but I may sub in Peak 10 Cardio. I'll report back if I do!!!!

    Morning Ladies,

Had a busy day on Saturday, but I managed to get in KenpoX. Sunday was me reading a book! :drinker: This morning was Insanity Core Cardio & Balance, so starts my recovery week.

Oldest DD came in first for her team on Saturday, and now her coach wants her to compete in the Sectionals. She was suppose to take her ACT exam on Saturday, so she has e-mail the coach at the college to find out if she can take the test next month. :ohwell: Will see what the reply is, her coach thinks that she can quality for the state meet, so that is why she is asking for the change. We will see what happens.

Michelle, Crossing my fingers that Capone is on a role with the sleep! I have Chalene as a like on my facebook page, and she was giving a signed Turbo Fire set away if you just hit like on her post. Don't know who won the set yet, but I was like hey way not get the thing for free! I don't think I would purchase it otherwise.

Tami, WTG to failure on the workout! (Kara don't read this) Do consider the Power Tower, I like it so much better than the band or the reg bar. I'm tall, and my lower body is more muscular than the upper. Very hard for me to do a pull-up without assistance, and I can really feel my back and work to failrue with the tower. Sounds like you had a busy weekend planned.

Laurel, Wonderful that you where able to get so much done in your little hotel room. I don't know what I would do having to be in that space for so long. Probably kill my supply of romance novels! Yes I love to read those bodice ripper novels.  Hope the unpacking doesn't take to long.

Kara, When do you get your first break from school? Must be around Thanksgiving. I to was not recording my intake over the summer, and gain some weight back. I've been dedicated to it since I started this P90X rotation.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Morning Ladies:yawn:

Capone developed a hematoma last week but this weekend he just bled out all over the carpet:noway: We have a huge blanket for him but of course he always goes to the spot without, needless to say the newly steamed carpet is wrecked and my at home steamer has stopped working so it has been elbow grease all weekend!:grumble: All weekend I have been applying meds and liquid bandage to prevent seepage and finally on Sunday it loooked pretty decent...well Mr. Capone refused to go into his crate with the E-collar on and howled all night until 3:30am even after I took the collar off and put him in the crate. The rest of the family slept through it but unfortunately I'm a light sleeper. So after heading downstairs the third time I put him out on the patio with his big pillow and went to bed at 4am only to wake at 6:15 to prep breakfast for my eldest:yawn: .

I had Bar Method on the list and cardio but right now I'm trying to get some energy into my body and hope that I can fit in an afternoon workout. I'm on my first cup of coffee and probably need to make an entire pot of a strong brew:laugh:

Laurie- WTG on 1st for your eldest...retaking the ACT should not be a problem unless her applications need to be submitted by the end of the month. What book are you reading? I have been trying all weekend to get a good read in but all I can hear is "MommmmmmM". One of my favorite authors Lee Child just released his new book today so I 'm excited to add it to my list.

Kara- Turbo Fire although I'm curious the thought of investing over $100 or 60 from Ebay is not a strong desire. I'm more curious to try Bob Harper:laugh:

Laurel- Being able to do anything during a move is incredible so kudos on getting any workout in on a daily basis:wink:

Tami- For Upper body what is your max in poundage? I always think of your routine as a strength gain so I'm curious as weight loss does not seem to be what you are working on..lucky woman:bigsmile:

Erika- Where are you woman? I hope that you are fully recovered and had a great weekend.

    Have a great day!

    Hi ladies!!

I started my last week of this Insanity rotation today. :drinker: This will be the second rotation of Insanity I will have completed this year, which isn't at all what I intended. But....moving does that to you. Anyhow, just like when I started my last week of my previous rotation, my thoughts this morning were like 'I don't really need to do the last week, right? Why can't I just do something fun like Cathe KPC or something?' I other words, it was TOUGH to press 'play' on Maximum Intensity Cardio (the longest and toughest Insanity workout for me), but.....I did. I also did Leaner Legs (without weights) and P90X Chest/Back (without weights). And I went for an hour long walk. Yes....I'm still bored.

Michelle, OMG about Capone!! I'm happy he is okay, but what a pain that must be for you. I hope he heals quickly. With the little sleep you've had (and the stress of a dog bleeding out this weekend), I wouldn't blame you at all for just taking the day off! :flowerforyou: You deserve it right now. Funny that you mentioned Lee Child because I'm reading his book '61 Hours' right now. This is the first Lee Child book I've read, and I'm really enjoying it.

Laurie, congrats on your DDs accomplishments! That's really fantastic. I hope everything works out for her and the competition vs ACT. What an exciting time this must be for her. I hope you enjoy your recovery week. I'm more than ready for a break from Insanity right now. I'm still hoping to start back up with STS next week but will probably take it easy on the cardio even if I do. The constant pounding is taking a toll on my body. Oh, and I'm doing my fair share of reading right now. This is the first time during a move that I've read every book I brought with me (three of them)....plus I've read one more I bought in Phoenix AND now I'm reading the Lee Child book which I picked up in Denver. In addition, I'm also reading books on my eReader. So, yeah, I'm getting my fair share of reading in. I'm also crocheting a baby blanket for a lady back in Korea and watching some of the worst movies ever made (on the ScyFy channel) or, on days when that gets to me, all of the CSI series on Spike. In other words.....I need my furniture!!!! Hopefully....soon. Thanks for more feedback on the Power Tower!!

Kara, I so admire you for going back to school because I have no doubt I would be feeling the way you feel about studying right now....and that's what has kept me from going back. For whatever reason, my attention span seems to have gotten worse as I've gotten older, and I'm not sure I'd have the same level of interest/dedication/attention span I had back when I got my first degree some 23 years ago (:noway: ). But kudos on you for doing this AND keeping up with your fitness/health.

Tami, I hope you had a great weekend. This is a break week for you, isn't it? Are you taking a break? Still hoping to catch back up with you next week for this last phase. I should know in the next couple of days whether that is going to be possible.

Erika, I hope you are doing well.

Hope you all are enjoying a great Monday. See you tomorrow!

    Hi Ladies ~

Nice weekend for me … I got a bunch of house cleaning done, took the dogs for some nice walks and a little stretching. Spent some time w/ my mother-in-law yesterday and a girlfriend on Sat. a.m. so that was nice. Didn’t get in the Yoga I wanted too though :frown: This week forsure since it is my Recovery Week. I was fighting not doing a leg workout yesterday since that is normally my leg day but since it is Recovery Week I decided to get in a stretch instead. Today is Turbo Kick and might do an ab workout when I get home from that.

Laurel: Sorry about the boredom. I can only imagine … I think I would be the same way – just go for some consecutive workouts! Definitely passes some time and burns some stress. You are amazing! Good job on pushing through. :drinker: When do you get to start the fun of unpacking? Yes, Recovery Week . . . trying to take it as a "recovery week" but need to plan better because not sure each day what I will do. Travel Fit: That was kind of how I felt when I tried it. If it was a substitute for something vs. nothing then yes definitely and maybe next time I try it I would substitute a heavier band forsure. I like that we are on the same thinking about the next rotation … that way we can share ideas! Mostly me picking your brain …  I would like to see how my body will react to more endurance/high rep workouts.

Kara: Hi there! Good job on hanging in there with your workouts. I am sure it is keeping you semi-sane during a hectic school/study schedule. Yes, still enjoying some really b’ful Fall days and took the pups out for a great walk. It was in the a.m. and brisk but they loved it. Emma (the golden in photo) loves to roll in the frosty grass. Pretty funny.

Laurie: Good job on KenpoX despite your busy Saturday! What do you have planned for your Recovery Week? I have found that I tend to struggle with ideas for this (as I mentioned to Laurel). I like to keep having my momentum going w/ the workouts and understand my body needs the rest so just sort of struggle with what is too much or not enough. That’s excellent that your daughter is doing so good with the Cross Country. Hope she has good news back on taking the ACT.

Michelle: OMG on the bleeding and your carpet. :noway: :grumble: I am sorry to hear that for both of you. You have truly had your hands full with him and I hope his wound is healed now and you won’t have another little set back & the sleeping goes back on track too. My weights: It depends on which exercise I am doing & the amount of reps; but let’s say for my 8-10 rep workout – heaviest. Keep in mind I only have the SelectTech dumbbells. Chest Press: 37-40#’s, Shoulder Press: 22-25#’s, Shoulder Raise 15-17.5#’s, Bicep curls: 22-25#’s. Do these seem heavy?
My goal is more definition vs. strength or size definitely. The nature of STS and building strength along the way has just been part of the program. I know FORSURE I have lost inches but haven’t weighed myself since this spring. :blushing: Now that I am seeing more definition I would like to improve on that and incorporate more endurance based next rotation to see if that will bring on more definition; lighter weights/more reps. Would always love to be a few LB’s lighter but trying not to focus too much since I realize the muscle is there as well.

Erika: Hope you had a good weekend and you are feeling 100% again!

Talk to you all tomorrow! :flowerforyou:

So today is 'recommit day' & I'm back to logging calories & wearing a HRM when I workout. I hope I don't have to do this for long, but I feel it is necessary at the moment! Yesterday I decided to do yoga instead of Insanity or Peak 10...I know, not a very comparable exchange, but I felt I really needed it. Today I did Bob's Strength workout, combos 1&2 from Amy Bento's ASC4 & 20 minutes of Rodney Yee yoga-forward bends.

Michelle: What an exhausting experience you've been having w/Capone. & lack of sleep just sucks. When I'm tired I eat more, crave junk, I'm cranky. I hope everything settles down for you soon & you're able to sleep for like 10 straight hours!!

Laurel: school is much less enjoyable this go around I must say. I LOVED being in school when I was younger. I liked it so much that I at one point considered being a professor. Now I'm just tired, don't have the attention span, can't stay up as late, don't have the patience for some teachers, & have WAY more responsibilities to juggle. I just hope in the end it's all worth it. I was in an industry/job I hated for 14 years. I'm hoping this is my shot at doing something meaningful & at least somewhat enjoyable. I just hope I survive school!!!! Congrats on almost being done w/Insanity round2!!

Tami: soooo Turbo Kick is recovery? You're a machine! That's funny about Emma & the frosty grass- my dogs hate to get wet in any way, shape or form. However when my Rocco gets really excited he does hop like a reindeer!

Laurie: That's awesome about your DD!!! I ran track for years, but I was always more of a sprinter. Cross country runners amaze me.

Erika: Hi!! Hope all's well w/you.

Hello Ladies--Sorry I've been MIA. LOTS of driving for work, which has me up and on the road by 6:30am, but most nights not back home until after 5, with all my voicemails and emails waiting for me after I get the boys home. I had a 4 day run of this mess, so I'm feeling really behind at work, which makes me tired and not wanting to do much workout wise! Plus, we entertained all weekend, so I really didn't get any down time, or workout time either! Ugh!:grumble:

This morning I set my alarm for an hour later than I meant to, so just a short walk on the treadmill today. I'll catch back up eventually!

Laurel--I'm certain I'd be doing the same thing you are in your situation! I'd be so bored I'd just workout all day, as I wouldn't know what else to do with myself! I love that you are using the bands, or no weights, and still kickin butt on the workouts. Way to go lady! Is it today that you get into your new home??

Laurie--Great job on the workouts, even though you had a late start one of the mornings (forgot which one, I'm so far behind!). Sounds like your daughter is doing awesome--so fun to see as a mother!

Michelle--I was so excited to hear about Capones great sleeping until the latest episode! I hope he's on the mend and he bounces back to 6am (or later!) wakeup time again! As always, great job knowing when you need to rest, and when your body is ready for the workouts!

Kara--I don't know how you are able to keep up with the school work, workouts, eating, and stuff at home...I'd be a mess! I'm sure it's not easy, but you sure make it sound like you've got a good schedule going. Loving the variety in the workouts yesterday, and that you switched out the workouts on Sunday for Yoga...way to listen to your body!! I think we are all getting better and better at that!

Tami--Sounds like you had a great weekend and got in some nice walks with the doggies! I was so hoping to get out for a walk too, but we literally were running from one thing to the next, and any spare time we had, we had guests over. I was glad for 7pm to roll around on Sunday as I was able to just sit down and relax! My hubby LOVES to have people over, but I get stressed...gotta clean the house, prepare the food, entertain, etc. It just got to be too much doing it 2 days in a row!

Well, off to get some work done. I'm off Thursday/Friday with the boys, and am REALLY looking forward to it. I need some time away from work (and traveling!)

    Morning Ladies,

P90X Core Synergistics for me this morning.

Oldest dd will be running at the sectional meet this weekend, the college track coach said that he didn't want her to miss this opportunity. :drinker: We had to change her application to reflect that she will be taking the exam in Dec., this probably will be better for her anyway. Gives her more time to study.

Michelle, So sorry to hear about the ordeal with Capone. Hope he gets better soon, has to be awful to see that lovely clean carpet getting soiled like that. I will have to check out Lee Child, I did do a little searching on our library's catalog and saw that they had the books. Actually sounds like something that I would like to read. My read was a library find, think it is a little old but it is by Julia Quinn. She has a lot of humor, and writes in the Regency era. I like Nora Robers (also JD Robb which is also Nora! ), Sandra Brown and have started the new series by Richard Castle. You might like the Castle book, since it might be a lot like the Lee Child. Except it has a lady detective.

Laurel, Sounds like you are filling your day as best you can. I would be watching the USA network, love some of the shows that they are making. Just need to find the time to watch them. Can't wait for you to tell us that you are doing your unpacking, and getting the house in order.

Tami, For recovery week I am doing Insanity Core Cardio & Balance, Core Syn, Insanity Cardio Recovery, Yoga and KenpoX+ along with IntervalX+ and CCB again. Planning on either a stretch on Sunday or nothing. The only thing that has anything to do with weights is CS, and I only used 5lbs on that one. All of them are light on the cardio & weights, and heavy on the core. Got to love those type of weekends, this one coming up is going to be a busy one. Sat is of course the cc meet, and then we have DH's brother & SIL 25th wedding anniversary. I still have to make a cake for the "parade of cakes", this is some type of tradition for their family, and both of our dd's will be walking the cakes around the room. I'm debating on what I will make, I have a Autum Cheesecake that I like or Pineapple Upside Down cake. I'm leaning toward the cheesecake.

Kara, WTG on the recomit! So far is sounds like you are doing well in your studies, and I'm sure that it will get better as you get adjusted to the time commitment. Totally understand how difficult it must be, but you ROCK! :drinker: I don't know that I could do it. DD actually likes track more than cc, and she runs 200's 400's & 800's, can't stand the longer distances. Or maybe it is the coaches, she not a fan of the long distances coaches.

Erika, Has your tummy problem gone away? Have a great time off at the end of this week, do the boys have that time off too? I also have to get back to work! :noway: Hope your days start getting less hectic.

    Have a great day!

    Morning ladies,

Last night when he started acting up I placed him outside and that was the end of that story! I woke up feeling better but ended up heading back to bed for another hour of sleep:blushing: Today is cardio with Bar Method and then it is off to the new vet I picked for the little man. Afterwards I'm craving a salad from Taco Cabana so I have to do the workout or else no treat:grumble:

Kara- When I think of returning to school to specialize in Oncology I truly question my ability to focus, study late into the night and still function as a parent:frown: My husband asked earlier this year if I want to do my PH.D:noway: and all I could do was laugh and wonder if he had been drinking:laugh: It is tough so just focus on the end goal and everything will fall intoo place. We are definitely cheering you on your journey:drinker:

Laurie- Lee Childs took over after Patterson started to produce multiple craps of books month after month:laugh: I love all genres but I absolutely love tough guys who hit hard and fast and ask questions later:bigsmile: ...Reacher is my dream man and I was actually going to name Capone Reacher:laugh: JD Robb I also enjoy along with Tess Gerritsen, Patricia Cornwell Scarpetta series, etc..in other words I have been reading since age 5 and love to sink into 2-3 books during a weekend:bigsmile:

Tami- Poundage seems good. I use to go heavy with upper body and of course I bulked up majorly. Years ago it would become streamline and defined but the last two years it is truly just bulky until Squeeze stronger this year:wink: I love Cathe's Drillmax body but can not find out the routine she used to create such a beautiful physique. On her new dvd covers her body has once again transformed and is leaner than with STS which I absolutely love the look of:bigsmile:

Erika- Sounds like a busy woman. Hopefully this week will slow down so that you can catch your breath and enjoy a P57 moment:wink:

Laurel- I swear you are the energizer bunny:laugh: Bored....holy heck:bigsmile: Give me some of that:wink: Lucky you to have just discovered Reacher...try to get his earlier books which are truly some of his best work. The last 2 books have not been as great but I absolutely love this character and will usually buy his books and keep them for vacation week to read..now I have these last 2 to savor on Xmas weekend.

    Have a great day,

    Hi ladies!

Yes, I'm STILL bored. I started my day with Insanity's Max Plyo. I didn't struggle so much in wanting to do this workout as much as I did my workout yesterday, which is a good thing. Only four more days of this rotation and then I can get back to some Cathe cardio! I then did the leg/ab work of 4DS Kickboxing, went for a LONG walk, and finished up with Travel Fit. I feel like going for another walk this afternoon, but I'm not going to because tonight is going to be busy. My husband and I are moving out of our room tomorrow and into the townhouse, so we've got alot to do when he gets back from work to get it prepared to live in. Right now, the only things we have are an airmattrees, sheets, towels, and a comforter. We're getting a new chair delivered tomorrow, so we'll have some place to sit (for one of us at least). And...that's it (plus the stuff we carried in our luggage of course). I was hoping to find out today whether our household goods made it in from California, but nothing yet. :frown: I'm holding off buying anything for the kitchen right now (like knives, pans, etc) until we know how much longer it is going to be. I hate investing more money than we already have into things we won't need when our stuff gets in, so......it is going to be a pretty lean few days in the townhouse, that's for sure. But it will STILL be better than being in this tiny little hotel room.

Tami, happy to hear you are going to take a little break this week. I usually find that I do best with doing what workout I feel like when I get up during my break weeks than planning them out. I suppose I've always had an idea how I want to structure the week (like how many step workouts I want to do, how many kickboxing workouts I want to do, whether I'm going to do a couple circuits workouts, etc), but I choose the specific workout that fits the bill on the given day. BTW, you and I lift pretty much the same amount of weight. I don't think it is much, but when I was staying with my sister, my BIL was stunned to find me lifting his 22lb weights! He was even more stunned when I told them they were a little light for me for some exercises. So.....I don't know what that says, but it made me feel good.

Kara, I too toyed with being a Professor when I got through with my undergraduate work! I used to love to learn, and enjoyed the whole process of school. But how much has changed. Again, you are doing great, and I so admire you for taking the bulls by the horn and going after something you will enjoy doing. And congrats on taking the steps to become more accountable to yourself on your diet/fitness. Like you said, it may not last long but, sometimes, a reality check is needed. I'm probably going to need to do the same once life settles down for me too.

Erika, so good to see you! I was a little worried that you weren't feeling well, so I'm actually happy to hear you were MIA because you were busy. That's better than being sick, right? Hope your life settles down a bit soon.

Laurie, your break week sounds really good. You should be well energized to start round 2 of this rotation in a week. And my vote would be for the Autumn Cheesecake! In my opinion, you can never go wrong with cheesecake. So what's in an Autumn Cheesecake?

Michelle, what a great new pic!! You and I definitely have similar tastes in books. I, too, have been really disappointed with James Patterson since he started producing a million books a year. I have always enjoyed the Alex Cross series, and still read those. But all of his others....I just can't do anymore. And even his Cross books aren't as good. I'll definitely look into the older Reacher books. The interesting thing is that some guy my husband sat next to on the plane over from Korea recommended Lee Child/Reacher to him, and it is ironic that I (thousands of miles apart) picked up my first Reacher novel almost at the same time. I think he'd enjoy this former military/no-nonsense character. Glad to hear you got some sleep last night. And, believe me, I'd ship you some of my boredom right now if I could. But I know I'll be kicking myself in about two weeks or so when I'm asking myself 'Where did all my time go?'

Like I said, we're moving in to the townhouse tomorrow. We don't know if the phone/internet are working yet, so if you don't hear from me for a few days, you'll know that it was a 'no' on those things. Hopefully that won't be the case.

Laurel: YAY!! Move day is here finally!! I hope all goes well w/your move & your things arrive sometime fairly soon.

Michelle: I LOVE your new pic. Don't know why, but as soon as I saw it I thought it looked like you would have a very pleasant voice. Weird huh? Don't know how I get that from a pic, but that was my 1st thought!

Erika: Good to 'see' you. Sounds like you've been as busy as me!

Laurie: I use almost all of those same workouts that you mentioned as my recovery workouts as well. SOmetimes I throw in some dance or something, but I don't touch weights either & I focus on my core.

    Tami: Hope all's well!!

Tonight I did KCM Circuit Burn & Rodney Yee yoga-twists. Circuit Burn is still one of my fav purchases of the year. I just don't dread it at all & I burned 450 calories?! That can't be right. BIG BIG BIG test tomorrow. I'm a nervous wreck. Wish me luck! Hopefully I won't go into cardiac arrest during the test & I'll see you all tomorrow!

    Hi Ladies

This a.m. was Jillian's Yoga Meltdown and it felt pretty good .... then of course I couldn't miss out on my Spinning class after work!

Laurel: That is a pretty "no nonsense" way to plan it out. I try to think it out that way and then start thinking into it too much I suppose. :blushing: Thanks for the feedback on the weights, I think it's funny & great all in one that we are lifting similar amount! I sometimes wonder w/ a barbell how I would be gauging the weight. More/less due to the nature of a barbell and weight distribution?! Sounds like you had another day of several workouts to keep you occupied! Hope the next few days go well for you and your things arrive soon! Fingers & toes crossed for ya!

Laurie: That sounds like a great rotation for your Recovery week! Glad it is going to work out for your DD and her test. Yes, you definitely have a busy weekend ahead it sounds. I'm w/ Laurel . . . go with the Autumn Cheesecake - it just sounds perfect and scrumptious!

Michelle: Very nice picture! You look very classy and lovely . . . I am glad Mr. Capone was better once you put him out and maybe tonight will go without a hitch! How did his vet appt go?

Erika: Phew girl! I hope you get to have a few slower moments to catch up a bit. You'll get there, one day, one hour at a time. Sometimes when I get overwhelmed I try to break it down into small pieces and then it doesn't seem so BIG. Hang in there. I hope you get your workout in or a walk . . . but don't worry if you don't, you'll be just fine!

Kara: GOOD LUCK tomorrow on your test! I will be thinking very positive thoughts for you and I bet as hard as you have been working at school it will pay off! No worries. I'm going to try out Bob's Pure Burn/Super Strength this week, not really "recovery style workout" I suppose, but really anxious to try it out!

Hope you all have a great evening ~ talk to you tomorrow! :flowerforyou:

Hi Ladies!! Today is my Friday, so I woke up in a good mood, plus got my Fully Body P57 workout in. Felt soooo good, as it's been awhile since I did that one (I've been doing mostly the 1/2 hour ones due to time constraints). I got caught up at work yesterday by hibernating in my cubicle and moving at lightening speed, but I feel much better about being off for 2 days now!

Laurel--I hope moving day is going well and that chair arrives as planned and maybe some other household items?!? Way to get creative with the workouts and choosing to workout instead of sitting around doing nothing (or like me, eating!) Can't wait to hear you're officially in!!

Tami--I really need to get some Yoga in! All this talk of Yoga makes me crave it, but I just have to find th time, as I would like to tack it on to one of my other workouts. Maybe while I'm off I'll get to it!

Kara--Good Luck on your test!!! I'm sure you'll do great! I think your talk of KCM has prompted me to move my KCM rotation up to next month...I need my KCM fix!

Michelle-I hope the vet visit went well and you enjoyed your lunch! BTW, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new profile pic. You look fantastic!!

Laurie--Awesome that things worked out for DD to be able to compete. She'll appreciate the extra study time too! Yes, all tummy issues are finished over here, and no one else got it, just lucky me! I am glad it didn't stretch out any longer, as I've heard stomach bugs are going around right now and they are lasting 2-3 weeks. Yuk!

Well, I better get logged in for work and get stuff done so I can enjoy my long weekend. Not sure I'll be on much, as the boys have come up with lots of places to go and things to do, so I think we'll be doing lots of running! Have a great weekend, if I don't talk to you all!

    Morning Ladies,

Insanity Cardio Recovery, and since I had some extra time I did about 20 min of KenpoX punching drills. That was a very good combination, sinc CR really focuses on the lower body.

We where notified that DD's potential college track coach will be at her cross country meet this weekend. I hope she doesn't get to nervous, but that it is more of an insentive for her to push herself more.

Michelle, I love your pic! Now I know why you can talk the dr. lingo so well. I bet that would be a hugh decision to go back and get your PhD, that really would involve a huge time commitment. How did the new vet visit go? We don't have a Taco Cabana around here, but I made taco's last night! I think I may have remembered you mentioning it, and it stuck in my brain all day long. Of course my girls love taco's so they where happy.

Laurel, You are doing so well on trying to keep yourself busy. :drinker: Hey even if you only have one chair, at least you will have a bigger space. Guess the vote is for the cheesecake, guess I was heading in that direction all along. I got the recipe from the All Recipes site: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Autumn-Cheesecake/Detail.aspx  I have made this recipe many times, and it is very tasty. Perfect for the fall.

Kara, Good luck on that test, will be sending you the "good test vibes". I love the Insanity Cardio Core & Balance, I don't know why. I did that one for like 6 days in a row during my Insanity rotation.

Tami, I will have to pull out Yoga Meltdown, I have not done that one in a while. Maybe that will be my choice for tomorrow's yoga day. Way to inspire me, then I can get my Jillian fix too.

Erika, I wish it was my Friday! Have a wonderful time on your 4 day weekend. That is one thing I like about having you all tell me what your workouts where for the day, makes me want to do some workouts I have not thought of in a while.

    Have a great day!

    Morning ladies,

Thanks for the wonderful comments on pictures.:blushing: That was my 38th birthday dinner with my college girlfriends and her colleaugues during one of her audits here in Texas.

Mr. Capone had a yeast infection in his ears, an apparent allergy, no earmites:bigsmile: and the wound may be infected via saliva bacteria hence the seepage. Needless to say 200.00 later and a bag of meds we are hopefully on the recovery track. Unfortunately I hurt my back trying to lift him into his crate in the truck, but the stupid cone kept hitting the door and he kept fighting:grumble: I woke up this morning achy and hunched and kept wondering why yesterday's KB & Bar had me in sooo much pain:ohwell: ..then it hit me:laugh:

Erika- Now I have to preview the KCM video:bigsmile: I found out that Bar method is releasing new videos this month so I'm pretty excited...unfortunately one of them is for expectant moms:tongue:

Kara- I hate taking tests and tend to hyperventilate the first 5 minutes before settling down:wink: Breathe deeply and get a good night's rest. Best of luck:wink: Yes I actually do have a nice phone voice and will usually have customer service reps talking wayyyyy long on the phone with me about family etc... My uncle said I should of been a therapist:laugh:

Laurie- I forgot to add my vote Cheesecake all the waaaaaaayyyyyy:bigsmile: Another weakness of mine:laugh: As a matter of fact last night I was texting the family to order the Xmas cheesecakes to take to Ga. from our pastry chef. With all of the food during our grieving this Summer, I tasted for the first time Red Velvet Cheesecake:love: It was amazing and I don't even like red velvet cake:bigsmile: The vet turned out to be really nice and it is a full service facility plus the eldest who wants to be a vet was able to observe the examination.

Laurel- Yes, Patterson sold out with his multi-million dollar deal for 17 bks in two years. There are so many other great authors that it is truly like being in a candy store for me. Enjoy Reacher..he is my hero:wink: Too bad we are no longer living in Columbia, Md because at least then I could of been a freindly face to ease the boredom. Fingers croxxed that shipping arrives soon:wink:

Tami- Last night the antibiotics caused him to become sick but afterwards he settled down and was asleep by 10:30 and up by 5:20am which was fine by me. The main thing is getting him healthy and removing that dreaded cone off of his head before he damages the entire family room and patio furniture:laugh:

Off to check on the little man,

    Hello Ladies

Today was Cathe's Circuit Blast which felt good ~ It was a good choice! I also took a nice walk in the sunshine right after work with the "kids". It gets dark so quick these days I was glad to get in the walk while it was still kind of sunny and nice.

Laurie: Thanks for sharing the recipe with us! That does look very good  That is great news for your DD and the college coach being at the meet this weekend, I bet she is feeling the nerves a bit. I will be thinking about her on Sat. and hoping she runs her best race! Sounds like a great combo on the workout this a.m. - enjoy Yoga tomorrow

Erika: Great job in getting in P57 ... I know you have been wanting to get that one in! How fantastic having a couple extra days off, that always feels so good. I hope you enjoy every minute w/ your boys and also squeeze in some "Erika" time since you have been so busy.

Michelle: I can totally relate to the yeast infection in the ears.... my sweet Emma has had that more than once. It has been on & off for the last few years; mostly in the summer. Then Bernie got one this summer too :grumble: So I have had my share of ear ointments and the like treating them. I hope Capone's goes away quickly. Youch on the back pain, I can picture exactly what was happening there ...you poor thing. Yes, getting that cone off will be a huge relief for all of you and your walls!

Hi Laurel - Hope you are getting into your new home and having good news about your things arriving very soon! :flowerforyou:

Hi Kara - How did the test go?!!

Hope you all have a great night ~ talk to you tomorrow!

Its 11:00pm & I just finished my workout. I switched my 'fun' cardio thursday to today & did KCM Cardio Blast Step/Plyo premix. Normally after a tough day (3 classes & a test & then had to come home & take an online quiz), I might have just skipped it. But now that I'm tracking calories again, I knew I needed to burn 328 calories to break even (I'm a stress eater was awake extra early today). Proud of myself, but tired. Test was hard, but think I passed. Will find out Monday. Will catch up w/you all tomorrow.....

    Goodnight!

    Hi ladies!

Sorry I was MIA yesterday, but I was busy working around our new house. I got my Insanity workout in (of course) and did Butts and Guts as well. And then I dedicated the day to getting the house is good order.....because our household goods are being delivered tomorrow!! :drinker: I am more than ready, without a doubt. But this is the most physically demanding part of the move (unpacking boxes KILLS my back), and I thought about taking today easy because of all the work I did yesterday. But I couldn't sleep (too busy thinking about the things I need to get for the house before the movers get there.....like shower curtain rings and batteries and silly things like that.....nothing worth losing sleep over, that's for sure :ohwell: ), so I got up and did STS Disk 20/Legs and Insanity's Maximum Intensity Cardio. It felt good. I'm trying to figure out whether I should do the last two Insanity workouts for this rotation next week (since I won't be working out for the next couple of days), or just call it good. I guess I'll figure that out come next week.

Tami, the good news is I should be able to join up with you for this last part of the undulating rotation! :drinker: Barring any unforeseen circumstances, my plan is to start back on Sunday with Legs and Glutes. Like I said, I'm still trying to decide what I'm going to do for cardio next week. Even if I do the last two Insanity workouts, I'll probably take it pretty easy with the cardio next week (aside from those two workouts) while I ease back into the weights. But I'm ready to be lifting again, no doubt. Regarding using a barbell, I was always able to lift more with a barbell. I've toyed with going back to one, mostly for biceps but it would probably take more of a financial investment than I'm willing to make since I already have a good, effective way of lifting weights. In other words, I'd rather invest in new DVDs or the Power Tower or something like that.

Kara, good for you doing a workout that late at night! And great thinking in making it a 'fun' workout. Hope you did well on the test.

Michelle, hope your back if feeling better. Poor Capone (and your entire family as a result I would imagine) is having a tough time right now. I hope he, and you, are back to 100% soon. Red Velvet Cheesecake?!? Oh, I'm going to have to look for that! I love Red Velvet!!

Laurie, thanks for the cheesecake recipe. I use allrecipes.com ALOT and have great luck with most of the recipes I've found on there. Hope your daughter does well this week in her meet!

    Erika, hope you are well!

I'll catch back up with you all next week. I hope you have a good weekend.

    Morning Ladies,

Today I did Jillian's Yoga Meltdown Level 1, and then followed that up with Cathe's Total Body Stretching ~ Basic Stretch. That combination was another excellent marriage! Since Jillian doesn't do a lot of stretching in her workouts, the Basic Stretch worked the hips and legs.

Michelle, Dang on the back, hope it isn't to serious. Glad Capone is on the road to recovery. Those infections in the ears happen a lot with dogs that have floppy ears. Our German Shepherd is pretty good, since her ears are always in the up position. Those things are what I call her emoticon! I have never had Red Velvet Cheesecake, but it sure does sound yummy. Now I will be on the lookout for a recipe for that.

Tami, Wait until daylight savings time ends. :noway: One thing I don't like is driving to and from work in the dark! I like the sun. DD said that she isn't nervous at all, she says that now.

Kara, WTG on getting your workout done, even though you where so tired. :drinker:

Laurel, What great news that you household goods will be coming tomorrow! :drinker: Do take it easy on that back, I'm sure there will be a lot of strain on it. I use my barbell alot for the STS/Cathe workouts. I do like it for the body parts you mentioned. I really like it for leg workouts the best. Will the shippment of goods coming to the house include all your workout equipment and DVD's? Then I'm guessing that you might opt for something different.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Morning Ladies,

So the antibiotics made Capone sick last night again and this time it went all over the carpet...ugh my gag flexor was ready to o crazy:wink: Thank goodness hubby actually helped with clean up. Overall his seepage is decreasing and the ears have cleared up already but he will continue meds for another week which stinks b/c these capsules although I'm breaking them apart in his food always gets him in the evening meal:grumble: Don't they have liquid antibiotics for dogs:huh:

On another note I recently applied for a govt contract job and was actually referred last week. Yesterday the deputy director called frm Va and wishes for me to fly in for the interview in November. OMG I was so sick with nerves last night and told hubby I would not go but then this morning when he called again I committed to the trip..paid for by them in November:noway: My nerves finally calmed down but I can only imaging flying into this unknown place the day prior and just freaking the heck out:sad: At least I have time to practice for the panel interview:blushing:

Kara- Whew it is over which is always a great feeling:drinker: As you can see sometimes the nerves get the best of us:laugh:

Laurie- Emoticon:laugh: Capone's ears use to always be such a mess but now they lay flat which is obviously not a great thing at times:bigsmile: Cheesecake in any flavor is always a plus:bigsmile: .

Tami- I know I felt like an idiot while trying to get him into the vehicle while he is kicking at the crate in the parking lot.:blushing:

Laurel- Yippppeee on the furniture..those crossed fingers worked obviously:wink: . Now it is time to set up house and hopefully get into a new routine:drinker: .

Erika- Finally some P57 in your schedule. Way to go on getting healthy again.

Off to eat breakfast/brunch now that my stomach has settled:laugh: .

    Hi Ladies

Today ended up being a "rest" day altogether. :ohwell: I thought I would get my workout in this evening but just got busy around the house since I've been home. Getting the house all neat & tidy for my hubby - he comes home tomorrow evening! Finally. So made one of his favorite dinners and just straightening up the house a bit so it feels good when he comes in! It will be nice to have him back.

Laurel: Yahoo on being that much closer to getting settled into your life again and your belongings! Great job on the workouts (as usual) and I am so glad to hear that we will be going through the last phase of Undulating together! :drinker: That definitely gives me a boost of motivation! I know what you are saying on the barbell. I sometimes think of different moves it would come in handy but my hand weights are awesome and perfect for STS or whatever workout. I’m with you – speinding my $$$ toward more DVD’s and maybe a Power Tower sounds much better!

Kara: Way to go on the late night workout! :drinker: I bet it felt good to get that in and you probably slept peacefully having the test behind you as well.

Laurie: Good choice on Jillian’s Yoga workout ….  combined w/ that stretch I bet it was perfect. You are truly the “Workout Combo Queen” ~ I love it. I know on the daylight savings … always a dread factor for me. :frown: Being up several hours before the sun even comes up and then leaving work in the dark. Glad your DD is relaxed for her meet … I hope she blows them all away! One of my friends is headed out today for her daughters District Track Meet, she is a freshman and really hoping to qualify for State. Must be the weekend for CC meets.

Michelle: That is fantastic! What a great opportunity you have in front of you. I know we will all be rooting you on for your interview. That’s a good question about liquid antibiotics for dogs … I have always had pill form as well but never the sickies afterward, that’s a bummer. Hopefully that will improve soon and be off of the meds.

Kara – Hello! Hope you are enjoying your time off.

Have a great evening everyone ~ Tomorrow is Friday!

    Morning Ladies,

Did another combo workout rountine, this time with P90X Plus workouts. I did the Kenpo and Interval workouts, and took out a cool down and warm up. In total it came out to be around 70 min. Those two workouts are actually very good, so why don't I do them more often.

Michelle, That is wonderful news! That is probably how I would react to, but I'm sure that you will do just fine. Oh that would be wonderful if they had liquid meds. I think that would be so much more simple than having to hide the pill in cheese or hot dogs (her fav). Baking a cheesecake tonight!

Tami, What a nice environment for your DH to come home to. I didn't realize that he was still gone. You and Laurel will be finishing up this Undulating rotation, and I will be starting mine up again. I'm glad that we don't need to go very far for this meet, the state meet is in central WI so we would have to travel to that one.

Laurel, I'm sure you are busy unpacking today! :drinker:

Kara, Hope you are having less stress. :flowerforyou:

Erika, Is off enjoying time with her boys.

    Happy Friday Everyone

Very glad that it is Friday and that my hubby will be back in about 3.5 hours from now! I'm going to hit the Spinning class on my way home which will be a great way to end my week and it is my very favorite instructor that teaches on Friday evenings!

Laurie: Don't you love it when you do a good combo! I always try to make a note of workouts now so that I remember that I really enjoyed it. So many to choose from that are so great! Which is a good thing. Yes, it has been a long time (6+ weeks) but the good thing was we broke it up, he came home after his first 2 wks, then I went there 2 wks later - so that helps. Good luck at the track meet!

I'm hoping to get in YogaX tomorrow and then Undulating starts back up Sunday! Along with my Fall/Winter womens volleyball league! So will be an active weekend ahead.

Laurel: Happy Un-packing! Hope it is going well. :flowerforyou: Butts & Guts for me on Sunday ...

Michelle, Erika & Kara - Have a great weekend.

    GM Ladies,

Last night I rented Just dance 2 for the Wii and what a great workout:bigsmile: We had a blast on our Family night and yes the heart rate does increase with those dances. This morning the girls woke up ready to party some more, so after my Bar routine we did an hour of Just dance which was a blast b/c this time I did the full routine with my youngest.

Now it is time to crack the whip and get the eldest to clean up her room if she wants to invite her BFF to join her tonight and play the game. So far it has been a great incentive:wink: The weather here is stormy with the wind howling outside the windows so it is a perfect day to watch movies and play Wii games.

Who has Michelle Dozois new dvds? I just ordered the cardio circuit and I'm excited to try her style. I wanted both but I went a little crazy and also purchased the Firm: Calorie Explosion and then found TurboFire EZ 55 on Ebay. Last week after doing Turbo Jam I realized that the music really gets me through cardio but the routine was old. So now I can truly get a feel for this new routine of hers and this is the one that people have said has a really great soundtrack:wink:

Kara..do you have Bob harper's new ones...is his cardio dvd similar to P90x? Reviews were mixed on that one depending on which site you read. I'm still looking at KCM too:wink:

Did Cathe's new dvd ship out yet as I was watching the clips on collage? The LB routine looks great and killer at the same time:laugh:

See you ladies on Monday. Have a great weekend?

    Hi Ladies ~

YogaX today! I can't believe how fast the time went, I really enjoyed it.

Michelle: Sounds like you are having a really fun weekend, that is excellent! How fun that you purchased some new DVD's! I have Bob Harpers new ones and I have done the Cardio workout but not the Strength one yet. I really liked the cardio. I don't think that one is simlar to P90X; maybe they are comparing his Strength DVD to P90X? I will let you know when I do the Strength workout. Kara had talked very highly of both (hence my motivation to get them  ) she can give a better review since she has done both but so far I would recommend the Cardio one 100% I don't have the Michelle Dozois new ones (I think Kara does) but I have "eye-balled" them  The cardio one reminds me of my Monday night Turbo Kick class a little bit and it looks like good energy w/ good music as well . . . very fun!

The new Cathe DVD's are scheduled to start shipping out end of this month ..... so very soon! :drinker:

Have a great weekend everyone! :flowerforyou:

I have had my nose in research for the past 3 days while writing a paper on cytomegalovirus. But its done & I got 100 on it so it was worth the time. Its a Sunday, but I have 2 online quizzes to take today. Never ends I tell ya! But I will get in my Art of Strength:Newport kettlebell workout today. I really like that one & since it was rather pricey I need to get my money's worth and do it more!!!!!

Tami: Good thing I didn't log on here on Thursday & read that you took a complete rest day...I would've thought the world was ending! Good for you! I hope you're enjoying having your hubby home!!!!!

Laurie: I really like the X+ workouts. I've really enjoyed this rotation I'm currently doing where I do the X+ every other week. Glad you found them enjoyable. Sometimes I find Intervals X+ rather easy, & other times it kicks my butt?!

Michelle: I feel like I need to go to video workouts anonymous...I have the Bob's, the Peak 10s, AND I just ordered Ilaria's Atletica. Bob: I don't find any of his workouts to be like p90x. I actually think the cardio one is very similar to the effect of kettlebells...cardio effect without having to jump all over the place. Bob's strength one moves way too fast to be like p90x. The only thing possibly very similar is the set & setup? But Bob is borderline mean & Tony is a goofball. I have only done the strength Peak 10 one. Haven't got around to the cardio one yet. I will be doing both of those (and Atletica) in my next mini-rotation that starts in 3 weeks! I liked the Peak 10 strength one though. Its intensity for me was a bit higher than KCM Circuit Burn but less than Insanity. But for fun factor, it was probably a bit less than KCM Circuit & much greater than Insanity.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

Thanks Kara & Tami- I bought 4 dvds this weekend:blushing: I'm truly a shop-aholic but it has become worst this year. I'm trying but getting my body into shape is worth the money compared to how much I can spend on a purse:wink:

Tami- Bar method combined with the dancing workouts have my hips sore in a good way this morning. The kids absolutely love it which is great:bigsmile:

I have to share my excitement: I was at Target and saw they have these new 4 dvd sets of workout videos. They have one for yoga, one for kickboxing, one for pilates, etc. AND they had one for kettlebells!! And this is a legit, for real kettlebell set, not some set put out by the Firm or Jillian. Sarah Lurie is a RKC instructor, she's the real deal. Buying each of these dvds separately would cost $93 or so! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In all my excitement I forgot to say that I paid only $14 for this set!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Ladies! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

I had a really weird weekend. I definitely enjoyed the time off with my boys, but for the first time in as long as I can remember, I felt down in the dumps all weekend. All I felt like doing was watching sappy chick flicks and it was a struggle to get my workouts done. I think it's stress from work, to be honest.. I'm the lucky person who gets to day after day deliver heath insurance renewals to groups. It's never fun, as almost all my groups had lots of medical claims, so saw high increases. I compare it to telling someone their loved one has died (at least that's the look on the receiving end of the news when I tell them about their renewal). I think it's slowly wearing on me. I, just once, want a job where I help people...that's all I ask. Ugh! Let's hope this week is better!

Kara--Great find on the DVD set. I wonder if it's just at certain Target stores? I was just there yesterday and the day before and was looking over the DVD's and didn't see any kettlebell ones. Oh well, I still have 2 I haven't even tried yet! Good Job on your paper!! Way to go!

Michelle--It's nice to know I'm not the only DVD addict on this board! :blushing: Sounds like you've got some great ones! What did you think of Just Dance? I always have my eye on that one (although my Dance Dance Revolution, Wii Fit and a few others are just collecting dust!) Maybe I should rent it to try it out...sure sounds like fun! I sure hope Capone is feeling better finally!

Laurie--Love the P90X+ workout mix! Sounds like a good challenge, and a good amount of time. Way to go!

Laurel--Great to hear you are FINALLY in your new home and I"m hoping all the HH goods arrived on time and in good condition. I'm looking forward to hearing you're all settled in!

Tami--Way to go on taking the rest day--I bet it felt good to get some stuff done around the house. I hope you had a wonderful weekend with the hubby being back home!

Well, off to work...wish me luck this week. I have to start my morning off with a meeting in my bosses office...something must have happened while I was out..ugh!

    Morning Ladies,

Well my weekend was full of eating! The anniversary party was a fun time, and full of really tasty German food. My Autum cheesecake turned out really well, and I got a ton of compliments on it. The one thing I liked about it was that it wasn't overly sweet. Oldest DD didn't qualify for the state meet, but she sure tried her hardest. She was the first runner on her team to cross the finish, and she had a super great attitude afterwards. The course was very slipper, because it was raining. I did manage to get in an Insanity Cardio Core & Balance workout that morning. Sunday was a rest day, and more good German food. This morning was P90X Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, will get in Ab RipperX after work today.

Tami, WTG on getting the YogaX workout done. :drinker: Of course we get the new workouts when I'm in a comitted rotation! Will just have to preview them when they arrive.

Kara, Wonderful job on the test score! :drinker: That interval X+ really gets you in the legs, I seem to always forget that part. Probably all the slow pulsing that is done. I'm always up for a new kickboxing workout, will have to check out my local Target stores.

Michelle, Sounds like a fun time and great motivation. I got my youngest to clean out everything in her room with the promise that she can get a facebook account. :noway: Now everything is out in the hallway waiting to be sorted out. I'm just glad I can walk around her room now. WTG on the DVD finds!

Erika, Hope all goes well today, can't imagine the stress that you are going through. I only have credit & collection guys threaten me with law suites! I have caller ID on my phone, so now I know when he is calling.

    Have a wonderful day!
