TGIF LADIES! Whoo hoooo Friday is FINALLY here! What along, crazy week! So, this morning, i couldn't keep my curiousity at bay any longer and broke out the kettlebell! I had NO idea the cardio factor that goes along with kettlebell workouts! I was huffin and puffin! It's a very different style of strength training, that I can tell will take some time to get the form fuly down. I think I need to spend some time with my light kettlebell just working on form, but my 20lb bell is just right once I get thing down!

Tami--How were the legs feeling for the morning workout? Mine would be screaming after spinning and then STS Legs and Hiit! WTG!! Have fun visiting with Grandma and Dad this weekend--sounds like it was overdue too!

Kara--Thanks for posting your rotation! I love the variety of the workouts, and it sounds like a lot of fun! I would like to do something similar with STS, Kettlebells, KCM and cardio, but have to sit down to figure it all out! BTW, how long did it take you to master the kettlebell moves? I'm struggling with mastering the snatch. It's only my first day trying it, but that was the one I just couldn't figure out. I'll just have to keep trying. I was really surprised how much leg/hip involvement there was with Kbells. I think watching a video doesn't even do it justice until you try it!

    Laurie, Laurel and Michelle--Good Morning!

I think using STS, kbells, KCM & cardio would be an easy way to do a similar rotation as I have posted. STS would be in place of the regular p90x workouts. Where the kbells goes depends a little on the workout. Some kbell workouts are more straight-up strength based, others are more cardio/endurance. We prefer the 'cardio' ones (like they don't do renegade rows or use the bell for tri work or whatever) & therefore I can put it in on a cardio day. KCM has a few workouts that then could be used for the endurance week...bootcamp, the new circuit one, I think even her new lift one (not olympic lifting but the other). Although if your kbell workouts are more strength based, you could put 1 or 2 in place of the p90x+ workouts. Anyway, I think its for sure possible. Once I get my Peak 10 rotation down, I'll post that too. I learned most of my kbell form from Lauren Brooks dvds. Whether or not I do snatches depends on the particular workout & the pace. You can find lots of good form pointers on youtube from Steve Cotter, Lauren, etc. I still don't know every kbell move. I have built on my knowledge slowly, adding in a new move or two w/each rotation.

Hope everyone is doing well! I'm trying to get out the door for school. I'll catch up later today.

    Morning Ladies,

In early today, so it was my short workout day. Didn't get my Fast & Furious DVD yet, so I opted for Hiit Double Wave Pyramid. That was a good choice, because I had fun with it.

Erike, I'm glad it is Friday too! I'm sure that you will have a lot of fun creating a rotation, just so many options. I have heard that the kettlebells have a learning curve, I just don't have the room in my space for more equipment. I should actually get that cleaned up this weekend.

Kara, Looks like a great rotation, and it sure is nice that your DH works out with you. Mine just doesn't seem to be motivated to try. I would love to work out with him. I have enough space for him in the workout area. Have a great day at school. No pressure on the Peak 10 rotation, you probably have enough to do with all the homework.

Tami, I think that you will find a way to merge your workouts together to work for you. The one thing I love about the Insanity workouts, is that all the exercises are not complicated, but keeping them in a rotation increases your endurance. It makes other workouts a lot more fun to do. Have a wonderful time with your Grandma and Dad. My GM is 90 this year, and I'm guessing that she will have many many more b'days. She has a really good gene pool. Sounds like your does too.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi Ladies!

Just wanted to check in with you all before I hit the road. It's about 3.5 hrs to GrMas. Got up early and did STS Back/Biceps so I got my workout in and it felt good. Minus the forearm burn after those deadlifts . . . Yowsa!

Erika: My legs would have been little noodles had I added Spinning ... I just did Legs and HiiT yesterday, no spin. Very fun to try out the kettleball action! Sounds like it was good and mastering the moves will make it even better

Laurie: We were kind of on the same path with our HiiT workouts! Hopefully your Fast & Furious will arrive soon so you can try it out. Thanks so much on the well wishes. Looking forward to seeing them.

Kara, Michelle, Laurel ~ Have a great Friday!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend :flowerforyou:

    Good Afternnon ladies,

Gymnastics this morning and we were running late...arghhh:grumble: I however did give myself the Drill Sgt voice and pulled out the weights and hit my UB good with Squeeze Stronger:bigsmile: My shoulders were talking..yes indeed but it felt great. So errands and then lunch with hubby and finally I made it home to release my poor dog from the crate:noway: It is sad when you are rushing your meal b/c you are worried about the dog having to go potty:laugh:

Tomorrow is his snip and chip day and we have an early appt. This weekend I plan to create another rotation to keep me motivated for another month. I need to look at Kara's carefully:bigsmile:

Erika- Yes this weather has also contributed to my program. I hate early workouts but sometimes when that clock strikes 12pm the desire is completely gone:laugh: KB will require at least a couple of workouts for you to feel comfortable so that sound slike a great idea. I think KB will be used the next 4 weeks as it is also a good cardio workout and we know that I hate cardio:laugh: KB & P57 maybe for October? I will use the accelerated Bar with KB..which KB dvd do you have?

Kara- Thanks for the rotation ideas...looks great:wink:

Laurie- I will be feeling like that next Friday...eager to drop his butt off:laugh: I drove by the facility today just to scope it out again to make sure there was ton of running space:laugh:

Tami & Laurel- Enjoy your weekend:flowerforyou:

    Have a great weekend!

    Laurie:

I LOVE that One on One medicine ball workout. It's actually my favorite OoO that I own. I'm so excited for you to review Fast & Furious!! I'm always in need of quick cardio to add on to strength days. I wonder if it's a preview of what we can expect w/Asylum?

Michelle: my dogs are heading to day care today. When they come home we always refer to them as 'being hungover'!! They sleep for hours & hours. I also can relate to rushing your meal b/c you need to let the dog go potty. That's my situation everyday after school. I can barely stop to get gas or anything b/c I'm trying to get home to the dogs. Luckily as they get a little older they can hold it longer & longer!

Tami: Hope you're enjoying your visit with your Grandma. I'm to a point where I have zero grandparents left. And it is nice to work out w/DH. He really keeps me motivated b/c he never even THINKS about skipping a workout or anything. He is very dedicated. It just makes planning rotations & picking dvds kinda tough. I need to preview everything to make sure the choreo isn't too complex, too girly, etc. It is something that keeps our relationship strong though I think.

Erika & Laurel: Hope all's well!!

Oh, I did Peak 10 Cardio Strength last night. It is different from anything else I own. It was tough. Tougher than KCM Circuit Burn for sure. I don't know if I could do it 2x per week though. I'm thinking of putting Atletica (or whatever Ilaria's new one is called) in place of the 2nd Peak 10 Strength of the week in my new rotation. I do really like the set-up of the Peak 10 & how each section builds in Intensity before ending in a 30 second burst of all-out cardio. You go through Basecamp (recovery) & then start a strength move, then add on to it to use upper/lower body together, then put weights down & do cardio, then the 30 second cardio blast...then back to basecamp. I have a tweaky lower back & 1 shoulder that I watch out for & I only had to modify 1 move. Not bad. It moves fast, but not Bob Harper frantic pace, but for sure faster than KCM.

Hey I'm here on a Saturday, making a really effort to get this additional weight off that I gained during the summer. :grumble: Working pretty good so far! Have not done my morning workout yet, will be Insanity Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs. Unless I decide to try that Incredible Abs 3 workout on Exercise TV.

Tami, The forearm burn is one thing I don't notice in P90X, but in a strange way I miss it. I'm thinking of changing my rotation, and just doing the P90X workouts for the full 90 days, and then start up STS in January. It works out that I would be finished with this rotation on Dec 26th. :drinker: Want to get that Undulating roation done.

Michelle, Oh yes the getting home for the dog! Our dog is afraid of our back yard, really have never understood it. I have to take her for a walk so that she can do her duty. :noway: I have gotten used to it now, and it gives me just that much more exercise in the da:y. I like Kara's description of how the dog reacts to daycare, that is so true. Cami couldn't even finish her walk yesterday, she had to take a few rest breaks. Sometimes she will even do her duty, and then turn around to head home.

Kara, Now that is the type of review I have been looking for, I had seen reviews on vf about the Peak 10 workout, but you put it in a way that makes sense to me. I think I will be getting the strength workout for sure, and I probably will get the cardio one too. In her facebook post she said that she was listening to some music for a new DVD. I think that she will have 10 workouts all together for this series. Sounds like a good way to mix up different types of training. I hadn't tried the 1:1 workout even though I have had it for a while. I'm really looking at one other one that I might try today, can't remember the name of it right now, but it is a leg workout.

Hope everyone is having a great day, and have a great weekend.

    Morning Ladies,

Did get that PC workout done on Saturday, and it really was fun. Interesting how you can improve on the endurance in just a week, the workout was a lot more fun when you are not as winded. Sunday was a rest day, had way to much going on. Didn't eat all that well on Sunday evening, had a church celebration and of course they had the usual pot luck! Tried to stay as healthy as possible, but those pot lucks have a lot of the best dishes everyone makes. This morning was P90X Chest & Back along with Ab RipperX. This is the start of Week 3, so next week is Recovery. Can't believe that it is already here! I have been having a great time so far with this rotation.

Youngest dd had a great time with her new pointe class, and said that afterward her legs shook! During the class I went and got her a turkey sub, and on the ride home she at the whole thing. I think she was hungry! She has two classes in a row, so that is 1-3/4hrs. of working out.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Good Morning Ladies! Whew, what a whirlwind of a weekend! I have been fighting with a stomach virus (had it last year around this time too), so I'm eating bread and drinking sparkling water to try to keep the food in. Needless to say, no workouts since Friday, but that's quite ok, as the Kettlebell workout on Friday left me virtually unable to walk Saturday and Sunday. Wow! Hubby is out of town for the next 3 days, so I'm really hoping this virus leaves soon so I can get some energy to make it through the workday and take care of the boys!

Laurie-Nice work on Insanity and P90X! I can't believe next week is recovery already! I'm a lot like you...I find myself switching up my rotations after I am a few weeks in. I'm struggling with what my rotation to finish up this month will be...too many DVD's to pick from and it's making it hard!

Kara--Darn you girl! I didn't want to hear good reviews on another DVD! Just when I thought I had gotten all the ones I wanted!!!! Glad to hear you enjoyed it, and it's a good mix in with your roation! I have to ask, how is Michelle personality wise in the workout? I have a couple older DVD's with her in it, and she drove me nuts--I think too perky or something??! Did you feel like it was a good strength workout too, or more cardio intense?

Michelle-I am considering your P57/KB suggestion for the rotation...can't decide for sure yet though! Way to work through the Squeeze workout!

Tami-I hope you had a great time with Grandma and Dad!

Ok, back to work!! Talk to you later...

    Good Morning,

So my week of rest is over and it is time to whittle away at this weight again. After a ten month plateau the scale is moving again:love: This weekend Capone had his surgery and I felt so guilty afterwards b/c he was in so much pain he would not come in the house, ran outside and hid in the bushes all night.:noway: I was so guilty and could not sleep so at 4:45 in the morning I caught him and dragged his butt inside and put him in the crate where he stood up all night:sad: Unfortunately I took his cone off for a better rest, but instead he licked all of the medicine off. Now that we can see the site clearly, he needs to return to the vet because it looks like two or three stitches are missing:sad: I'm dreading taking him back but the hole is so obvious and looks as if it needs to be resewn in order for it to heal properly:cry: We kept him out of the crate last night and I just removed all of the big items out of the way and set up the middle of the family room for him to sleep on some sheets, so he was able to sleep last night and then I came down at 5:30 and released him and slept down here with him until 7am:yawn: At least his appetite iss back.

Kara- It sounds like we need to check out your dvd..just when we thought the shopping was over:laugh:

Erika- I did my Accelerated Bar method and these thighs are quivering:noway: My new rotation will focus on AW & CYB bar dvds with HIIT sessions on the treadmill 2x per week and MMA boxing on Sundays for my 3rd cardio session . I will use KB to break up the monotony on Wednesdays if needed. I want at least another 30 days with Bar to see what it can really do for my LB. I hope you feel better..I guess the virus was waiting for you to let your guard down afterall.

Laurie- Yummy Subway.....or even Quiznos. OK let me stop now before the carb monster raises its head:laugh: I finally was able to shift the Summer/Cruise weight so I need to stay focused here:wink: I think I will skip daycare until next week as my little man is lacking any energy to run with the wind and play hard.

Tami- How sweet..grandma brings memories of homemade meals and special treats. Soak it in and savor the visit:flowerforyou:

Now that my thighs are no longer shaking I can head upstairs to shower:laugh:

    Hello Ladies ~

The weekend with dad & Grandma was really great. I also got to see my two sets of Aunts & Uncles that live in that area as well. Which made it even more fun! Grandma is doing so good and I loved seeing her in her little house. I always tell her that I hope I am like her at 93. She is amazing! It was nice to see my dad and catch up as well, we seem to lose touch with him living so far away so it was good to reconnect a bit.

So needless to say when I got home I was really itching for a good workout. With all the sitting and visiting Fri/Sat. Did STS Legs #20 and had a short break then did Bob Harper’s Cardio Conditioning … Yes, I ordered it after Kara’s review on it a couple weeks ago! :blushing:  Loved it. IT was tough but good and I really like him so the time flew by. I was dripping sweat at the end and the the saying “be careful what you wish for” came to fruition! I was thinking of a nice workout the whole way home on my drive and there he was in the mailbox. With legs right before it I was tired but it felt good.

This a.m. was STS #31 (Chest & Back) … tonight will be Turbo Kick.

Laurie: Sounds like you had a nice weekend and got in a good workout as well!

Erika: Darn it on the stomach virus. That cannot be any fun. Especially with DH being gone and taking care of the boys, work, etc…. Hope you feel better very soon!

Michelle: Congrats on the scale moving! :drinker: I bet you are so glad. That can be so frustrating and you have been working hard! It has paid off for you. Yahoo! Poor Capone. Hope things go a little smoother and he starts healing quickly. I did savor every minute and was so glad to be there with Grandma.

Kara: I checked that out last night as I was relaxing and watching a little TV. That does look like a really fun workout. Thank you for the recommendation on Bob’s Cardio workout – I love it!

Hi Laurel :flowerforyou: Hope your weekend was good too!

Have a great afternoon/evening everyone ~ I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Tami: I'm so glad you liked Bob's cardio!! Sometimes it's hard to know what other people will like or not like. (& dare I tell you that I actually enjoy the Pure Strength one even more than the cardio?!)

Now about Peak 10 Cardio Strength. I'm not ready to say I love it or anything yet. I only did it that 1 time & I was dead tired while doing it. I think it is a good mix of both strength & cardio. You do tri kickbacks, shoulder presses, squates, lunges, bi curls, push-ups, lat raises, side lunges...but then your heart rate is up & I for sure was sweating. I don't know when I'll get to it again, but when I do I'll try to post more. I did not find Michelle annoying, except that she is kind of yelling her cues for some reason. Like as if the music is really loud in the room she's working out in, but it's not loud on the dvd. Erika: I would seriously classify it as whatever you consider KCM Circuit Burn to be as far as whether it's strength or cardio, but Peak 10 is more advanced.

Michelle: I'm so sorry to hear about Capone's medical ordeal. How sad. I hate those darn cone things & don't blame you one bit for removing it! Keep us posted. Hope he gets better soon.

I should be studying & taking an online quiz right now! I better get to it! (I got 2 tests back today...a 99 & a 98!! YAY!!)

    Take Care!!

    Hi Girls!

Man, is this bug giving me a hard time! I haven't been able to workout since Friday, as I'm so weak and dehydrated from not being able to keep anything in! I have basically been on a bread and water diet for the past 3 days! Ugh! I guess this just gives me more time to figure out what I want to do when I have the strength to workout again! I was able to get in a short walk yesterday at lunch, and then again last night with my boys, but it was a very slow and relaxing walk.

Kara--Thanks for the extended review of Peak 10. I checked out the clips again and it looks intense. My problem with hard circuit workouts, is that I'm so tired from the cardio, I can't do the weights with good form. I think I'd have that problem with Peak 10, but it does look very fun! For some reason I can keep up with KCM's circuits and some of Cathe's, but not all. I'm curious to hear what you think of the Cardio Peak 10! BTW, good job on the test scores!

Michelle--I hope everything went ok at the vet with Capone yesterday. I remember going through that with my pup (I used to have a boy, that we had to put up for adoption at age 3 as he would not stop marking in our house, even after being fixed!), and he hated the cone, but would whine and whine and whine when he had it on. I think he was our dog that ended up finding a way to get at the incision with the cone still on. Our girl dog was fine, she just slept for a few days! I hope today is better and you were able to get some sleep last night!

Tami--You are crazy girl! I can not imagine STS Legs and then Bob's workout...wow! I haven't checked out that one yet...gotta do that!

    Laurel and Laurie--Good Morning!

Have a good one. I'm working from home today so I can stay close to the bathroom...oh fun!

    Morning Ladies,

Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit for me this morning! It was still a tough time getting through those last plank exercises, but I managed to get through. Must have done a good job on the weight selection for the back workout on Mondays workout, because my back was sore for most of the day yesterday. I did notice that it was sore in places that I have not felt in a while.

Erika, Hope you start feeling better soon, has to be hard not feeling well and still having to take care of the boys. I stuck with my rotation as is for this week, but for the next phase of P90X I'm changing the Tuesday workout to Pure Cardio. I don't think I wanted to do the same cardio workout in such a short time frame. You are right, so many workouts that we want to try, but only so much time in a day.

Michelle, Hope all is well with Capone, probably a good idea to hold off on the daycare. Congrats on getting that weight off, I'm doing that slowly. I just didn't watch my eating as closely as I should have on the weekends, probably way to tired to try.

Tami, Glad you had a great time with your family. I remember my GM wore a button on her hat that said "You are only as old as you act". She was always a very active lady, even though she had been alone since I was 5 years old. Don't you just love having a great cardio workout, and of course if it is something that is different.

Kara, WTG on those tests! That is so great, don't know if I would be able to do school work right now. I have never been a person that enjoyed school, so that probably is a factor too. That strength workout sound just like something that I would enjoy, it is a bit like Jillian's 30 day shred with cardio and weights. Of course she included an ab workout into the circuit also. I will probably get those workouts, but not until next year.

    Have a wonderful day,
    Laurie

    Afternoon Ladies,

No workout at all this morning! That damn dog was up all night until I finally put him in his crate without the cone. It seems that he enjoyed sleeping on the carpet that he was not excited to go back to his crate and barked for hours last night. How the heck hubby and the kids slept through that mess I don't know. I had approximately 3 hrs sleep if that much and woke up *****y and exhausted:mad: To top it off my truck was still at the dealership and while trying to get into the shower to head out there Capone peed the newly steamed carpet:explode: This was after my youngest knocked her dad's cup out of his hand spilling his ice tea yesterday...thank goodness I had them spray a protective teflon:noway: The towel absorbed the liquids and it was easy to clean up:love:

The icing on the cake was finding out my grandmother went to a family outing and actually had a mini stroke and was unable to call for help b/c of the loud noise. My mom and aunt were there(both nurses) and reacted quickly. My grandma moved into my other aunt's home after my grandfather died of colon cancer 8 years ago but now it seems as if she may need to be put into a daycare or have a provider so that she is not alone while the family is at work. Most of the family have moved about 2 hrs away but were in town for the holiday so this is definitely going to be a difiicult task for the family to face. Arrrgh

So now that I have vented I can honestly say that it was nice to come to the boards to catch up on better news such as Kara's A's, Laurie's kick butt Plyo, Tami's review and Erika's family walk. Get well soon Erika..just listen to your body.

    Michelle who needs some sleep:yawn:

    Hi Ladies ~

Today ended up being just Spinning tonight after work. Which is always a great workout but I was a little bummed that I missed my a.m. workout . . . :ohwell: I guess that snooze button was just part of the plan for my body today. Tomorrow a.m. is Legs

Kara:  on Pure Strength – that’s great to hear because I did get that one as well! :blushing: Looking forward to trying it (even more now) Good job on those tests:drinker:  That is so excellent ~ you are doing so good. I bet you are very proud of yourself!

Erika: I hope today was a little better for you and you are feeling better. It sounds kinda crazy I suppose but it felt really great ~ I had a bunch of energy. Definitely check out Bob’s workouts. His personality is great and loved the first one I tried.

Laurie: Good job on the workout this a.m. – sounds like you are still enjoying your new rotation, that’s great! I’m with you on the feeling of “don’t know if I could do school work right now” it would be super hard to get back into that mode. Although, I sometimes wonder if I was learning about something I was truly interested in it might be more fun than I remember.

Michelle: I am so sorry for your horrible night  You poor thing. Tonight has got to be better for you, sounds like it couldn’t be any worse. Did Capone go back to the vet yet? Does your vet have any ideas for you? I'm glad you checked in with us today ~ wish there was something I could do for you to make things go a little smoother with that *%#@* dog! Sorry to hear about Grandma ~ is she doing better now? That is so hard and I hope that the perfect plan can come together for her and your family so she can have care during the day.

Laurel – Hello! :flowerforyou: Hope you are doing good and have found a house.

Hope everyone has a nice evening ~ Talk to you tomorrow!

    Good Morning Ladies-

I'm starting to feel better, FINALLY! I'm really missing my workouts, but have absolutely no energy, so couldn't get through one if I tried. I've been downing as much fluid as my body can take, and I'm still so dehydrated that my muscles ache. I know I drank over a gallon of water yesterday! Lots of saltines, rice and toast...yuk! But, I'm heading back to the office today, and have meetings and lots of time on the road the rest of the week, so I better be better or it won't be fun!

Tami--Glad you got the spinning class in, and some sleep in the AM. I will be checking out the Bob workouts. I do like his personality, just have to get past the fact that he doesn't always do the workout along with you, and the background people don't have the best form. That has always been my problem with Bob. Any instructor actually...if they aren't sweating with me the whole time, or their background people are bad on form, I can't do it for some reason. The only workout I've been able to get past that on is P57, as the instructor doesn't do the whole workout the whole time, but I don't consider that to be an exhausting workout, so I manage to deal with that one ok.

Michelle--Ugh, I really hope Capone slept better for you last night. What a tough night and then the accident on the carpet, and your grandma's stroke too! I pray that today is less eventful for you and everything gets better (including the sleep!). I'm sending big ((HUGS)) your way!!!

Laurie- Nice work on Insanity again, and knowing when to switch up the cardio to keep it interesting. It always makes the workout more enjoyable when you know that it's time to switch it up, and follow it through.

Well, time to get some work done and maybe attempt some other foods...wish me luck!

    Morning Ladies,

P90X Shoulders, Biceps & Triceps this morning, still need to get in abs after work. Still have to decide what that would be.

Michelle, So sorry to hear about your Grandmother. :flowerforyou: Strokes are hard for everyone to go through, and hopefully everything will get worked out for her care. Dang little Capone! Hope he had a better night last night. Here is hoping that today is a much better day for you and all of the family (including that Capone).

Tami, Only one workout! :noway: Kidding, sounds like sleep is what your body needed anyway. LOL on the homework, that is probably true, if I was really interested in something it probably would be fun to learn. The only thing I'm interested in right now may be Personal Training, but until I don't have to worry about children, it will be on the back burner of my things to do list.

Erika, So glad to hear that you are feeling better, hope your stomach stays in the happy zone. Tony never does the whole workout, the one ones that he does the workout in are the One on Ones that they came out with. If he doesn't do the workout in those then there wouldn't be a point to the DVD.

Laurel, Hope all is going well with your new home!

    Kara, Hi

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi ladies!

I made it to DC safely and met up with my husband with no problem. The weekend was crazy busy as we were trying to get adapted to the area and such. This has NOT been the smoothest of moves for us, and we aren't really close to being done with it. We expected to get into billeting with kitchen facilities when we got here, but that's not the case. :frown: I was not happy to say the least. We just have a tiny fridge and no freezer, but at least we have a microwave. So I'm able to eat healthy breakfasts (oatmeal) and lunches (lean turkey sandwiches), but dinners are a problem. We've taken up residence at the local Panera because they a)include the calorie counts of their meals on their menu board; b)have great salads that you can order with half a sandwich. There is also a Subway on base, which is good.

But, honestly, I'm a little frustrated/down right now because I'm stuck in this tiny room all day without a car. The closest store for food and such is about a 30 minute walk from here. And the nearest fitness center is about a 45-60 minute walk from here. That's just a little too far for me to walk and then still want to workout (and then get back to the room). So I"m doing Insanity in the room right now (into my third week of the second month now), and other workouts like Travel Fit (yesterday) and Butts and Guts (today). I'm also trying to make sure I get out for a walk every day as that seems to help my mood (and the weather is absolutely beautiful right now). I bought a new workout mat yesterday which helps when it comes to abs and such, so that's good. But I really want my household goods and to move into a new home now!!

The good news on that is we saw our new townhome on Monday and are quite pleased with the neighborhood we are going to be living in and the layout of the townhouse. Unfortunately, previous residents didn't take great care of it so we are going to have to do some work on it to make it 'home', but I'm okay with that since we are going to be there for a couple of years. But we got lucky and chose very wisely in taking this place, and I'm happy about that. The bad news, though, is our household goods aren't here from Korea yet. They were supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but 2/3 of our shipment was sent on a ship that just arrived in California yesterday (1/3 of our shipment is here already). That 2/3 is due in next Tuesday, so I've got all of my fingers and toes crossed that we can move into our house next Wednesday or Thursday. I'm so beyond ready to get back to a sense of normalcy. I've been asking myself the last couple of days why this living outside of suitcases/living without my stuff is bothering me so much, and I have to remind myself that it is probably because this is the second time I've done this this year!! I mean, a year ago, we were still living in our home with our furniture in Los Angeles. Yeah, there's probably a good reason for my mood right now.

    Okay, I've vented enough.

Erika, I'm glad you are feeling a little better. Sounds like that bug sure got ahold of you. Don't sweat not working out and just make sure you are back to 100% before trying to workout. That's the best thing for you right now, especially if you've been dehydrated for the past few days. Take care and I hope you continue to feel better.

Laurie, sounds like this rotation is working out great for you! Are you going to do a similar rotation with the second month of the Insanity DVDs? I couldn't remember what you had planned. These Month Two workouts are really kicking my butt, but I suppose that's a good thing. Congrats on the positive impact this is having on your weight as well!

Kara, thanks again for some good DVD recommendations. I'm going to have to look into those.....later. I still have to finish doing all of my Turbo Fire workouts yet before I buy anything else new. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough room to carry those with me, so my reviews of Turbo Fire are on hold right now....probably until November sometime. Boy, have there been times I wish I had been able to carry them, though. I think that's a great sign on how well I was connecting with that series.

Michelle, you sure have had your hands full lately, haven't you? First off, I hope your grandmother is doing all right. She is so lucky your mom and aunt were there and able to help here, but that must have been scary for them all. And it sure sounds like your pup is causing you some problems. I hope you are able to get some rest soon.

Tami, a quick answer to your question last week about how to use Insanity. I think the only reason to do a full rotation of the program is if you are looking at seriously increasing your cardio capacity. In other words, if you were thinking about running a half marathon or something and wanted to make sure you weren't going to get too out of breath in training for that kind of distance, Insanity is your program (without a doubt). Nothing has impacted my cardio conditioning like Insanity has. I recover so much more quickly from my workouts (in terms of heartrate) when I'm doing this program. And while that's wonderful (and I love it), I really do think that's the only reason to ever do a full Insanity rotation. I don't find it has much impact on my physique or muscularity. So if you aren't looking at working on your cardio conditioning, then I think these workouts used separately (in other words, out side of an Insanity rotation) are a great addition to a strength training program. On to a different subject, I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed Bob Harper's workouts. Yet another program I'll look into....later. I'm so hoping we will get our household goods next week and I'll be able to join your for the final portion of our undulating rotation. I'll keep you posted. I'm so ready to start lifting weights again and, regardless of when we get our stuff, I'm determined to finish this rotation.

Okay, I've gone on long enough. I hope this finds you all well!!

    Good Afternoon Ladies,

Thanks for the well wishes:love: Last night he started howling again and after taking him out for the last bathroom call I moved his crate into the kitchen near a wall and covered it with a blanket except for the front area..it worked. We all slept until 6:00am this morning but I'm truly still exhausted and wondering if maybe it is time for a checkup or maybe I need to load up on some carbs at dinnertime b/c my glycogen levels are too low. No workout as I actually fell asleep on the couch after I made breakfast and got my eldest on her bus..maybe my iron count is low:frown: Further analysis needed......

I was able to get him into the vet this morning and she said,"that it was healing well with a slight hematoma but water theraphy for the next 3-4 weeks should help. No workout and I feel guilty but lack energy. I hope that pushing the shopping cart in the grocery store for 40minutes can count as a walk:tongue:

Laurel- Glad that you are finally there and that the house turned out to be a good investment.

Laurie-Much better but I promise that tomorrow this body will be back on track. I'm thinking a Kenpo date with both Tony's should keep me motivated:wink:

Tami- Your post made me laugh which was great. I keep telling myself to keep it together, he is just a baby but then he broke one of my outdoor tile side tables and had glass everywhere and I wonder why did I cave and say yes to my daughter:grumble: It is hard b/c hubby was opposed to the dog and although he will take him to training or appts etc......he is not involved like I am which is tiring right now.

Erika- Glad to see you feeling better. Exercise can wait b/c your body is not ready for that type of stress and you definitely do not have the calories to fuel yourself. I tried the new Accelerated Bard dvd and I must say I'm still feeling soreness in the wierdest places in my inner thighs and saddlebag area. I thought this dvd was easier but apparently it was reaching those deep muscles:bigsmile: I plan to switch between the two dvds along with the dreaded cardio.

    Hi Ladies

This a.m. was STS - Plyo Legs and it was one of my favorites! Then tonight I went to the 6:30 Spinning.

Laurel: So good to hear from you! Don't worry about the "venting" OMG! I would be ready to lose my mind w/ frustration. Moving alone is not at the top of most people's fun list and I think you are truly handling it like a champ. The food situation plus living in a tiny little space and getting in your Insanity workouts! 100 GOLD stars :drinker: I really hope your things do get there soon and you get to move into your town house as well. Thank you for the comments on Insanity - it sounds pretty much unanimous that I don't need to do the full rotation. I am glad because it was more my intention to incorporate them into my STS rotations or whatever rotation I am doing to incorporate cardio. I do hope that we get to finish up Undulating together!

Erika: Glad to hear you are feeling better. So sorry for you . . . I hope you are able to get through the rest of your work week. Don't worry about the workouts, you will know when you feel up to getting in a workout. Don't push it, you don't want to have a set back.

Michelle: After the night/a.m. you had I am glad that I made you laugh. So good to hear last night went better! Yahoo. Maybe that is the trick for now. I'm sorry to hear how exhausted you are. I hope that it is due to stress and not something serious. Iron being low I'm sure can make you crazy tired I have heard. Take care of you . . . . don't forget! I understand on feeling guilty about the missed workout but if you don't have the energy you need to honor what your body is telling you!

Laurie: Which ab workout did you decide on?!? Sounds like you got a good workout in this a.m. Do you use your STS Tower for all the pull-ups w/ P90X? I bet that would work perfectly. That is funny that you say that about the personal trainer and schooling for that would be interesting. I thought the same thing  truly! That would be fun.

Hi Kara - Hope you are having a good week!

I will check in with you all tomorrow ~

    Good Morning Ladies!

This morning I decided to try my first workout since Friday, and it went good. I did KCM's Kickboxing and just kept it to 1 session, which was 1/2 hour. I took the intensity way down and just rolled with it. It felt good, but I am glad I didn't really push myself as I could feel my stomach churning even with low impact! :grumble: Hoping to get back on my P57 workout track tomorrow, as I think that is low impact enough to start back up with.

Tami---Ahhh, now there's the Legs and Spinning in one day...go superwoman!!

Laurel--Ok, so your vent was about 1/8 of what mine would have been if I were in your situation! :blushing: I can not imagine how exhausing, frustrating and mentally trying the whole situation has to be! I am so glad you are able to keep the Insanity workouts going, as I'm sure it's putting that frustration away, at least temporarily! Sounds like you've got an awesome townhome to move into, which is the best feeling when you like it! Glad to hear the household goods are at least almost there, even though they were already supposed to be there, ugh! We'll all be doing the happy dance when you finally get to move in, with all of your stuff! Hang in there!

Laurie--I bet those arms are talking to you this morning...Shoulders, Bis and Tris all together is a killer! Maybe the reason I couldn't get into P90X was because Tony doesn't do the whole workout?! I don't know what it is, but I just can't get into workouts if the instructor isn't doing it all too. I think in my head I think "If they can't do the whole workout with me, what makes me think I can do it?" It's all a mental thing, but I do notice myself thinking that!

Michelle--I sent you good sleeping vibes last night, I hope they worked! Maybe you've finally found the solution for Capone? Something else that my vet had suggested was getting either a ticking clock to put under the dogs blankets (feels/sounds like a heartbeat, so they feel like someone else is with them) or having a radio on very quietly. That is supposed to block out other noices that might wake up the dog, such as creaks in the house, if you get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, etc. I know when we attempted to get our dog to sleep in a kennel (mind you, we got her too young--IMO--as she was only 6 weeks old and could fit into a coffee cup (she's only 8 pounds full grown, just to put into perspective), we had tried both. The radio seemed to work better, as the reason she woke up and started whining was if she could hear us. I hope you are able to get the glycogen levels under control...is that the same as being hypoglyceminc? I used to (haven't had troubles since having my 2nd child) had terrible problems with my blood sugar dipping too low in between meals, to where I'd pass out. I just had to eat SOMETHING every 2-3 hours, even if it was just a cheese stick or banana or something. I just got tested a couple weeks ago for it again, and I'm in the clear now, but suffered with that starting when I was very young. I think I've passed out over 12 times that I can remember!

Kara--I hope school is treating you well!

Back to the grind...off to Southern MN again today...catch you all tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

Yoga for me today, and I did Power Yoga for Happiness ~ Daily Doss of Bliss. Since I didn't set my alarm clock last night, I woke up a half hour later this morning. That workout is 41 min. total so it worked perfectly. I didn't get the ab workout done last night, I decided to stay later at work to make up for the traffic problem that morning. I had been stuck in traffic for a motorcycle meets car! They had flight for life involved, so was really severe. I will be getting in that ab workout tonight though, and I'm going to do Jackie Warners Power Circuit 15 min. ab section. I remember that one being a tough workout.

Laurel, So glad to hear from you again, just wish that you where in your new townhouse! You can vent away, dang I would be in worse shape than you. I don't know that I have moved no more than two or three times in my lifetime. I'm going to continue with the month one Insanity workouts for the next P90X phase, and then incorporate the month 2 workouts into the last phase. I'm following the eating program for P90X, and that is the phase that they increase the carbs. Thought that would be a better phase to put in the longer more intense Insanity workouts. I just got Insanity Fast & Furious and will be trying it out tomorrow. I'm actually excited.

Michelle, Sounds like Capone needed to be in a cave! Some dogs like and need the cave to help them sleep. That is why some dogs have dog houses, they need the dark. Hope you are able to figure out why you are so exhausted. Kenpo is a great workout, you get in the exercise without taxing your body.

Tami, Those plyo leg workouts are some of her best! Have to find a way to incorporate those into a rotation for the future, besides doing a complete STS rotation. Hmm have to figure that one out for the next phase, I was going to start using the P90X Legs & Back, but those plyo workouts might be a lot more fun. The power tower does work perfectly for the pull-ups in P90X. I'm not able to do pull-ups with out assistance, so doing them with my foot/feet on the floor has help me progress faster than I did previously. One of these days I will be in a sitting position just like Cathe.

Erika, Good job on keeping the workout to what your body could handle. Hope each day gets better and better for you. Tony is an aquired taste for some, and a lot of people didn't like the fact that he didn't do the full workout. I have the P90X Plus workouts, and I don't think that he does more than a couple of the exercises in the cardio workouts. Guess that gives him more time to think of funny things to say. I actually look forward to his jokes.

    Have a great day!

    Hi ladies!

I started off my morning with Insanity's Max Cardio Conditioning. I took a break for breakfast, and then did P90X Chest/Back. I felt like an upper body workout today, but something different than Travel Fit. I figured this would be a good one to do since I only have resistance bands available to me. It was! It has been a long time since I've done so many pushups, and I think I might feel it tomorrow. Yay!! I also did the abs section of MMA Boxing. I love the ab work in that one. It is raining today, so I'm not sure I'll get out for my walk. Maybe later.

Thanks for understanding my 'vent'. I really am trying to weather this move well, but it is having its moments. We pick up the keys to the townhouse today, and I'm hoping I start feeling better about everything once I know we have a place to live, can start personalizing it, and can see the end in sight for getting our stuff delivered.

Laurie, for some reason I didn't know you had Cathe's Power Tower. Do you like it? One of the big pluses about this townhouse is that I'm going to have alot of space to workout in, and I'm thinking about getting the tower. Do you use it with your weights as well? I'm also curious how easy it is to break down and set up. Any feedback you can provide is MUCH appreciated. I think it is very wise of you to stick to the first month of Insanity for two months and then do the second month for just one month with your current rotation. Like I said yesterday, these workouts are kicking my behind! I love them, but doing them day in and day out is tough on my body.

Tami, have you thought about what you are going to do once this undulating rotation is over? I'm just curious. Based on my results from doing Power Hour and MIS at the gym last month, I'm thinking about doing at least a month's rotation with total body workouts. I figure that will be a nice break from these split sets I've been doing all year. I've thought about doing another P90X rotation, but I'm still uncertain about it. I might do something like one month of total body, one month of Slow and Heavy and then one month of Gym Style/Pure Strength. We'll see. I'm, obviously, still toying with it.

Michelle, sounds like you might have found a solution for the pup. I totally understand your frustration. I had a friend get a puppy recently and she did regret it because, after getting the puppy, she realized that new pups take about as much work as a newborn, and she wasn't prepared for that. But, happily, after the dog grew up a bit and settled in, they all became very happy with the decision. Since you've been so sleep deprived lately, just take it easy right now until you feel better.

Erika, I'm glad you are feeling better but didn't push too hard through your workout. Just continue listening to your body and don't do too much until you are fully well. I hope you have/had a safe trip today!

Hopefully I'll catch you all tomorrow!

    Good Afternoon Ladies,

Thank all of you for those wonderful vibes...it worked again and he slept until 6am:bigsmile: I'm not exactly sure b/c hubby let me sleep in and woke up our eldest for school today. I would of slept longer but then I thought about the fact that she may of not put him in the yard to go potty, which she did not so I went down for coffee at 6:15am.

Lastnight I pulled a Joan Cleaver and cooked two great meals, Cream of mushroom chicken breasts with rice and steamed petite green beans and curry shrimp & chicken with coconut red beans & rice, then some chocolate chip & banana nut muffins:blushing: Dinner was great and this morning I felt great:wink: So it seems my lack of carbs and my multi-vitamin was part of the problem.

I was thinking of ordering TurboFire so I opted to do an old TJ to see if I was truly in the mood for her again. I did CP3 and then Bar Method LB section so I'm officially back on track.

Erika- Glad to see you out there..a bit intense for the first day back though:laugh: Yes I used my daughter's Barbie cclock but it may have been too loud or too low..not sure:huh: . I do know that when I make a bathroom run at 4:30am it wakes him up so now I try to hol dit until at least 5:00:laugh: Sad but true!

Laurel- Yeah time to pick up those keys and create your new home:flowerforyou:

Laurie- Cave it is ...... he actually was crated at 10:00pm and I draped his crate well and not a sound out of him which was spectacular:bigsmile: I also had my daughter take him on his long walk so that was also a plus.

Tami- Yes I feel better today which is probably due to the carb reload I enjoyed last night. I made up for the guilt by becoming Martha stewart for the night:laugh: Now if only I can remember to take my multi-vitamins:wink:

    Have a great day.

    Hello Ladies ~

Today was CCC - that is always such a good workout. This evening I took the “kids” for a walk. We have had some really beautiful Fall days here and the evenings have been short so I was glad to be home to take them for a walk. They LOVED it and so did I.

Laurel: Great news on picking up the keys! It will feel good to start getting a feel for your new home. Great job on the workout today, I bet the push-ups were a fun challenge. Have you enjoyed Travel Fit? I am glad you asked about the “next rotation” because I have definitely started thinking about it. With all the feedback lately everyone here has been sharing about full body workouts I am definitely leaning that direction as well. Would love to try and figure out a rotation …… and I am sure I will be asking for advice :blushing:

Michelle (aka: Martha Stewart): Sounds like some very yummy food and it was therapy for your mind & body! Good to hear you woke up feeling good & great news on two nights in a row with Mr. Capone sleeping until 6! Thank goodness. Maybe a new pattern has started. Excellent on the workout and getting that in - you are back on track forsure.

Laurie: Yoga Thursday for you, I bet it felt good. I am hoping to do a Yoga workout this weekend. Next week is my Recovery week, which kind of snuck up on me . . . I don't have a plan yet but definitely going to try and incorporate more yoga/stretching. I bet you are excited to try Fast & Furious tomorrow ~ it's always fun to try out the new DVD's! Looking forward to hearing about it.

Erika: Glad you are feeling better today and were able to get in your workout. Hope it continues to be better & better for you and you are back to 100% very soon! :flowerforyou:

Kara: Hope your week has gone well and you are hanging in there with school - tomorrow's Friday! :drinker:

Hope you all have a good evening! Talk to you tomorrow.

Laurel, it you don't have Fast & Furious you need to get it! What a great workout, it had two circuit for the warm up and Shaun did a couple of different moves than what his normal MO would be. Then of course is the stretch. After that watch your heart rate sore, you don't stop. Shaun and the crew took breaks, so I didn't feel to bad about having to periodically stop. He does a great job of mixing up the standing and floor work. If this is what Asylum is going to be like, I'm buying! Since F&F is on 20 min. that gave me so much time to spare I also did Cardio Abs. Now F&F combined with an ab workout is great. But since I did do Jackie Warners Power Circuit Abs last night, right now I'm feeling all the core/ab work. :noway:

Laurel, Wonderful news on getting the keys for the new townhouse! I love Cathe's Power Tower, it is very easy to take appart to store. There are two pins at the top and bottom, and you can store them under a bed or like me against the wall. I use it for the pull-ups and holding weights for chest work. I can imagine doing those Insanity workout again is getting rather old, how will you decided what to do when you are all set in your new workout space.

Michelle, Great news on (and I love Tami's name for him) Mr. Capone! Almost makes him sound like he should be wearing a fedora! Your Joan Clever moment sounds like a lot of fun, I love to cook but it never seems that I have the time. One thing I love to do is look at my cookbooks, but lately I have not had time durning the evenings. So did TJ insprie you to get the TF workouts?

Tami, Love CCC! Our evenings have been wonderful lately too. This morning I did wear my winter coat, hat and gloves to walk the dog. That north wind is blowing, so I wasn't taking any chances. One thing I have noticed about doing the yoga workouts, I'm getting the flexiblity but also the upper body from all those push ups. I'm able to hold my body up much longer in plank, so I'm guessing that is helping too.

    Have a great day!

    Good Afternoon Ladies,

Another 6am sleep in and I'm hoping this is the new pattern for Mr. Capone:laugh: . I was able to get my workout in early as we have an early gymnastics class. It was Cardio Party & Bar Method thigh work...ouch..these poor thighs hurt esp. after those kicks:laugh:

Tami- I actually went into my dvd closet and rotated CCC into the next set of dvds to rotate in for my cardio. I have not done that one in forever:bigsmile:

Laurie- I don't think so with TF. I watched the videos on youtube and it seems to be just frantic moves of TJ, most of everything seems to be similar moves arranged differently etc. As I have all of the TJ workouts I'm not sure that I'm interested in spending that kind of cash. If I can find one dvd on Ebay then I may try to get it but today's workout confirmed my decision to not purchase at this time.

Erika- How are you feeling today?

Kara- Busy, busy, busy woman..the weekend is here..Enjoy!

    Have a great weekend.

    Hello & TGIF!

STS # 19 (Chest/Shoulders/Triceps) was my workout this a.m. Felt pretty good but I was definitely feeling the burn. I must need that Recovery week. I didn’t go down in weight but getting that last rep in was a push. YOWSA. Planning on finishing out the week with a Spinning class right after work so looking forward to that as well!

Laurie: Excellent news that Fast & Furious was as good as you had hoped for! Love it when that happens. Sounds like it is a good time frame and cardio burst to then fit in another workout. Kind of like the HiiT workouts. The Power Tower does sound amazing and I have strongly considered it. Especially because I have just never felt much of the pull on the bands from the doorway method of pull-ups/chin-ups, even when I have increased the intensity of the band. Another “wish” item.

Michelle: Yahoo! Mr. Capone is truly getting the hang of it sounds like. That is great news and sounds like you had a nice workout this a.m.

Laurel, Erika & Kara – Hello to you and hope you have a great day! :flowerforyou:

Enjoy the weekend everyone. I am home this weekend (after being gone the last two) so I hope to get my house all clean including our wood floors and have a coffee date, movie date with some girlfriends along with some Yoga and dog walks!

Talk to you all soon!

    Happy Friday Ladies!

Well, I must be getting bored staying in this tiny little hotel/billeting room. I got up this morning and did Insanity's Max Interval Sports Training. Then I did STS Disk 20/Legs (no weights, of course). Then I had some breakfast and still felt bored. So I did Travel Fit. And then I went of an hour long walk. I'm trying to convince myself that's enough, but I feel like going for another walk. Or taking a nap. Maybe the nap will win out. It's a sad day when you start looking forward to unpacking boxes just so you have something to do. Of course, I'll be singing a different tune next week when I'm actually doing it, that's for sure.

Laurie, thanks so much on the feedback for Fast and Furious. If I had enough time to have gotten it ordered and shipped before heading out of Korea, I would have. It sounds like something I need now. I will definitely order it after we get settled. Though I'm a tad burned out on Insanity at the moment (one more week in this rotation!!), I can't wait for Asylum to come out. And thanks for the feedback on the Power Tower. I think I'll definitely look into getting that....maybe my Christmas present to myself. Like Tami, I just don't feel the bandwork as a substitute for the pull-ups anymore. I probably would have bought the tower long ago had Cathe shipped it overseas. But now that I'm back in the US, there's nothing stopping me now!

Tami, seems like we're of the same mind about the next rotation. Regarding Travel Fit....I don't know what I really think about it. When I first did it, I thought it was way too easy. But I did my first attempt when I was lifting weights regularly. And band work compared to actual weight work seems WAY too easy for me. But given that I don't have weights right now, I'm finding it to be an adequate way of working my muscles. I use Cathe's toughest band (the green one she was selling when STS came out). I can't use it for some of the moves (like overhead presses) because it is too tight, but I get a good burn doing some other moves. So, all in all, given the option of doing nothing or doing Travel Fit, I'll do Travel Fit. But I definitely don't think it is a tough enough workout to be done on its own. Doing it with Insanity, though, is good.

Michelle, good job on the cooking/baking. I love getting inspired like that in the kitchen. I go through fits and starts with it, to be honest. I'll feel like cooking for a month. And then I'll barely get by preparing tacos every other day because I can't stand the sight of my kitchen for a month. Go figure. I'm happy to hear you are feeling better and that Mr. Capone (in his suave fedora, I'm sure  ) is allowing you to sleep better.

Erika, I hope you are feeling all right!

Kara, hope school is going well!

Hope you all enjoy the weekend!
