My Resting Heart Rate over the past 6 months! From 83 bpm to 54 bpm!38

I realized this morning that I tied my shoes without having to hold my breath, suck in my gut, and heart rate going to 200 bpm.28

That sure is a great improvement!

I realized today that I've spend less than $250 on food this month, which is a huge improvement from prior months. It's amazing how quickly my food bill drops when I cut out fast food/delivery! I don't expect to have to buy much more (if anything) this month, so I'm quite pleased that I've come in below budget for the month on food (the first time this has happened ALL YEAR).23

NSVs this week:
1. Found another pair of jeans in my closet that now fit!!!
2. Tried to put my cell phone in my back pocket of my jeans and had to "lift the tail" of the shirt ... the shirt use to sit on the shelf back there but now drapes over my rear!
3. I have to check all 4 pockets to find my cell phone because it can slip into both the back and front pockets. LOL
4. My rain jacket closes and fits over my hips keeping me drier in the rain.
It is the little things that make me smile these days and remind me that I'm making progress.20 -
Today it was getting up at 6:15am to hit the pool for the first time in a month. Our covid restrictions have been eased up again. Basically the gyms and pools are open again at reduced numbers. And even though I am totally not a morning person, I did it anyway because the idea of getting in that pool was way too important to me.16

Christmas Eve and pants still fit. Definite NSV with my devil may care attitude toward eating all the things lately.
But real NSV is rode my bike to drop off Christmas goodies to a friend and pick up gifts at a bookstore across town—20 miles round trip. Would not have thought that possible or even considered riding that car last Christmas.20 -
Awesome NSVs everybody! Today when I was in the grocery store there was a tight squeeze at the check out (one of those way too thoroughly accessorized checkout lines) and I was expecting to have difficulty getting through to unload my cart. NOPE. I had room to spare. What's better, I thought about reading an NSV like this, from this very thread, several months back when I was newer to weight loss. At the time I thought "NEAT!" Now I think "HEY! That's ME!" I have a ways to go but the ol' belly is shrinking a lot.21

I logged all my food today and even stayed under maintenance! Quite a feat considering the cookies and nachos. I might be a little more lax tomorrow because it is Christmas Day, but Christmas Eve went very well.16
-
Without really thinking about it I took tiny slivers of cake, half a cookie etc of all dishes at the Christmas meal this year. I think this eating-like-a-healthy-weight individual is getting ingrained!16
-
Hit my Xmas stretch target a day early and rewarded myself with a rummage into my old clothes. As a result I am in UK size 12 skinny jeans for Xmas day rather than bulging out of my size 14 “comfy” clothes.17

Today was Christmas day, but it was also running day, and I made the two work together.
As it was a cold but sunny day, and I was in such a good mood, I ran twice the time I had planned at first. Kind of a gift to myself. I felt great after the run. Jeez, I still feel great now, and it's been several hours since I got back home and landed on the couch watching movies.17 -
Today on Boxing day I achieved my big steps goal. 1,000 days of a mininum of 10,000 steps per day
My daily average over the last 12 months is 18,250 steps but I have a few rest days in there that are really really just over 10k Including needing to pace my bedroom to get to the the minimum32 -
When I weighed myself on Christmas morning, yesterday, I found that my efforts to turn things around have really paid off this past week. I found to my great delight that I have lost 7lbs since my last weigh in! That works out at a pound a day as I weigh myself once per week. I have got down to 13st a weight I haven't been for four years, and I am just one pound away from my mini goal of 12st 13lbs! On Christmas day I only over indulged a little and this morning I have done 30 minutes on my mini stepper burning 331 calories. I am so pleased that things are going well after the discouragement of the previous 2 weeks of having put on 2 pounds per week. I knew I could do it but what a great surprise 7lbs was!13

Did you know you have a brachialis? I didn't until I felt it in the shower yesterday...and remembered to look it up today. Finding "new" muscles is a great feeling.13

I squeezed into a size 16 pair of pants recently. They buttoned but weren't comfy. Yet. I looked cute and not blobby in Christmas photos with my hubs22
-
I don't know how "real" this is BUT I've been doing strength training for about 2 months now and am starting to feel my biceps under my fat and when I flex a muscle pops up and it can be felt! Also, my quads feel harder and my legs have a little less jiggle over all. Can't wait to do my monthly measurement!22

I bake cookies with my daughter for our friends and neighbors every year at Christmas time. We both wear aprons and, this year, I was able to bring the belt of my apron back around to the front and tie it in a bow! Last year, it barely tied at the back.39

Yes! I had a similar apron victory a couple of week ago. Felt awesome, and I was able to tuck in a tea towel to the belt for easy access too.11 -
I just jogged two miles in 31 minutes, with only a short (~1 minute) break in between the miles. It felt so good! About 10 years ago I had gotten into jogging and worked up to running a half marathon in 2.5 hours in 2011. I'm a far way from there, but making a good start!27

Another NSV I just thought of: I regularly eat vegetables with breakfast now! Today's breakfast was 2 poached eggs with a large zucchini, pan fried in a small amount of butter, and some wilted spinach. 250 calories, and very delicious!21
-
My latest NSV is that I've come in under my sodium intake for 5 days now. I used to eat 4k+ mg of sodium a day and now I'm getting around 1.8k!19

I mark the inside of my belt every time I lose a hole. Today I moved another one.

Over the years I've amassed a collection of T-Shirts that do not fit. Too small. Mostly gifts from people that guessed my size incorrectly. I kept telling myself, "someday..." Well today was the day. Grabbed a random one from the drawer and tried it on. Last time I tried this shirt (the day after some Christmas years ago) it was uncomfortably snug. Today, fits perfectly!
Yes, I'll have to buy some new clothes - but I also have a drawer full of "new to me now" T-shirts!27 -
I'm wearing size 4 or 6 and smalls in most things. Mediums for things I like looser. I told myself I wasn't going to be smaller than a large due to my bust, and it certainly hasn't shrunk and it means I can't fit everything if bust room is required but that's fine. I feel like parts of me are still quite flabby but most of me has gotten quite small. Here's hoping I can improve my body comp in 2021.

I know exactly how you feel with this... I hated walking through a store & see something I liked, only to realize it won't fit. Sometimes you can get a larger size online, but not always. Just recently, we decided to update our family photos & I needed a new shirt to match the color scheme - what do you know, I found one at Old Navy that actually fit - and looks pretty good, too.

I've lost over an inch off my waist and my hourglass figure is starting to present a little more clearly... feeling hot
I'm also working on a goal to run a 5k by this summer and I can now run two ~3-4 minute bursts while I'm out walking, I started at maybe 1-2 minutes spread over 2-3 bursts. Time is estimated because I measure by the song I'm listening to, not actual time. I used to run cross country in high school (and now realizing that was 10 years ago!) so I know I can do it since I used to do it all the time, it's just a matter of getting back to it.27 -
This morning I went for 2021’s first run before the rest of the house even woke up.
Later, when my SIL asked if I wanted to join for an exercise video I said yes even though I had already worked out and didn’t have an extra change of clothes (2 good reasons to pass).
Then I borrowed a T-shirt from my brother. Men’s Medium and it was quite roomy24
