When I sat on the edge of my bed a few months ago I realised that I resembled Jabba The Hut's flabbier sister. By being careful with my exercise and diet, following 5:2 I feel that the shape I am in is no longer "round" (a squidgy oval maybe but not round)

I'm a swimmer and afterwards, I usually sit on a concrete bench as I let the morning sun dry me. This morning when I got up to leave I noticed my wet butt print on the bench is much smaller!41

Deadlift day. Pulled 245 off the floor. 2 sets of 5 and 1 set of 3. I will get 3 full sets next week.17

I had to go dig out my box of clothes that were "too Small" to find a pair of pants that fit this morning. All my regulars are too big!23

Ran up that hill again!
I now have my sights set on a steeper, higher one . . . one that I have previously cycled up. I think it would be fun to run up it as well.
Edited to add: I cannot believe that I have just written that. It's taken me over four decades to realise that running is FUN!31 -
Have seemed to stall out the past few months in the loss department so went and bought some size 6 pants and some small shirts as insensitive to lose the last few pounds and low and behold, got them home and tried them on and they ALL fit!!! The size 6 pants are actually a little on the loose side. Mind blown! So stinking happy!15

I fixed our A/C.
Well, that's more of an engineering victory, and hacking as I had to register on-line with the vendor's A/C pro website in order to buy a fan and other electrical parts. In order to protect the guilty, I won't say which A/C vendor, but I'm happy to have outsmarted the dealer protection racket and fixed a problem that happened before, 8 years ago.
And I did it for 1/2 of what it cost to have it fixed in 2018 "under warranty..."
But the body related aspect of this was I really wasn't that hot. Sure, it got up to 80 degrees upstairs, as it was the 2nd floor unit that lost its condenser fan, again, but I really wasn't sweating. I could tell the difference between the 80 and the 72 downstairs. But it wasn't miserable by any stretch.
40+ pounds ago, I would have been miserable in the house and even worse outside effecting the repair.
So it's a mixed story. I'm both happy and irritated. Happy I fixed it and that I could have ridden out several days without A/C upstairs. But also miffed that it broke again and that I paid $300 for this "warranty repair" on a new unit in 2010 and did it myself, yesterday for $148 in parts and sale tax and 1.5 hours of my time.18 -
Today is my ninety day anniversary of MFP and I am half-way to my goal.
My loss rate has slowed the past few weeks. I have had other things going on that could have slowed things down, and I
slacked off a bit in the accuracy of my logging. Not bad, but I know it could be better. Usually I use a "quick add" sometime during the day.
I set my goal higher than what it should be, I set an achievable (to me) goal. When I reached that goal I would decide what I wanted to do, lose more or start strength training. For now I am half way there and trying to get back on track.23 -
I was walking and holding my phone (no pockets) and needed to do something that required both hands. Without thinking I put my phone between my thighs (sounds wierd but you know what I mean lol) because that's what I have done in the past. Except this time my phone just dropped to the ground. My thighs no longer meet28

My VO2 MAX is slowly improving.13

I scooped my dirty laundry into the washer this morning. It was gross, all cold, and wet from a week's worth of exercise sweat. I couldn't be happier.22

I'm so proud of everyone here! Great job!!
I ran a half marathon today!!! I did a personal best, too! 2 hours 50 min. It probably doesn't seem that fast to some, and I know I could have done better. But I am still happy with it! Honestly, best of all -- I only trained for like, 3 weeks. In the past I'd train for months and months and still perform and feel miserable. I'm sore right now, of course (my knees feel like they have softballs taped to them ), but otherwise I actually feel pretty good! I can't imagine I'll need long to fully recover. I maintained a great pace and felt good during, too.
For me right now, the NSV is knowing that my body (and mind too) has progressed to the point where I can just do stuff. Of course some planning and training will always be necessary for things. But not everything is such a major decision anymore; if I wanna sign up for a 5K or half or whatever, I just can!

When I decided to go to the pool I didn't even think of driving. Walking was my default. I love mental/neurological victories.28

Walked just under 5 miles at the zoo, got over 10,000 steps while pushing a toddler in a stroller carrying a 10lb backpack. I am proud of myself Oct 17 I couldn't do that. We hopped on the tram and saw the zoo that way!!26

Saturdays are hard to log for me, it is busier than usual, more people around and bigger meals I have less control over. I was able to log everything pretty accurately today.21

75 minutes of non stop swimming yesterday afternoon and ~11 miles in a little over 3 hours of paddling SUP first thing this morning. Usually I take a rest day with maybe some walking between 2 things that strenuous.17

1. I pushed down my favorite pants without unbuttoning them! Just a few months ago, the were snug like sausage casings ...
2. To keep said pants up, I'm wearing a belt I haven't touched in 10 years. It's in the first notch, but I AM wearing it (and it shows me were I want to go -> three notches to go!).24
