If the scale is causing disordered behavior, then it's good to find some alternative.

I am curious though - why not just weigh yourself when you get up no matter what time it is? You don't have to wait until 08:00 to eat if you like to eat in the morning; just weigh yourself first. It's still going to be after you're done sleeping so will be somewhat consistent.

Do you weigh yourself if you sleep in later than normal?

Because it’s inconsistent. I don’t really wanna weigh myself at 5am some days and 9am others. Later is fine because I’m more likely to see a loss.

The other day, while walking in the park, I got catcalled by a couple 14 year olds (just guessing the age, obviously). Not something I need in my life, but I still think it counts as an NSV lol

If I’m going to binge, or eat above plan, it’s usually during that last hour before bed.
@springlering62 Yup! In fact I'm convinced that my binge eating is mostly just a sign that I'm tired/exhausted. (Plus anxiety, and lack of planning... but when I'm not already dead tired, I can usually deal with those.)

Yesterday I got up at noon. 10 hours sleep. 3 pounds down.
Today 5 am. 3 hours sleep. Up 1 pound from average, up 4 pounds from yesterday.

Weight loss isn't a daily game. It's long-term. Until you get used to that and learn to relax, despite the roller coaster scale, sometimes you have to find ways to handle it mentally.

Stick with it @anxietyfairy. Just follow your plans and you'll succeed, long-term.

Are you using a weight averaging app? There are several good ones that often help with scale anxiety.
