I headed out to the local ecology preserve after a 12 hour shift and walked 1.5 miles. I'm headed to another 12 hour shift tonight and have every intention of going back again in the morning.
And while it's a semi scale victory, I was tracking my weight but not my weight loss, if that makes sense, and I found out that when I hit 10lbs loss, MFP gave me little fireworks to celebrate it. Screw the numbers, those little fireworks made my day. It felt like the app was so proud of me that it gained sentience to cheer me on.
And yes, I probably need to sleep now.25 -

Yeah, the last pounds are the hardest. It took more calories just to maintain your body at your top weight, so you could eat more and still lose. But you've done a heck of a job, and you can make goal.5 -
I actually have a SNV (scale non-victory)
I cut 20lbs from late february and hit my goal weight but I don't look anything close to how I would like. So now I don't know if I should start putting on weight again to add mass or cut even more to get to the body fat % I want. *sigh*
Check with a professional. I gotta say, your pic looks pretty damn good to me.2 -
Cold_Steel wrote: »Getting back on track was a great NSV for me. Ten days of logging. A few years ago I lost 150 lbs and gained back about half of that. Realizing that while others may see MFP as a crutch the concept of logging my food will probably be a permanent lifestyle for me. I tried just controlling my food eating like I normally do while logging but one excuse leads to another, you fall right back into that pit of depression due to stress you start stop thinking about your food and only seeking sweet and tasty treats that make you ill and get larger and larger and larger.
Here is to my continued success and yours.
From someone else who's realized the need for lifetime logging and no longer sees that as an insufferable burden, Congratulations!6 -
My blood pressure was low enough yesterday that my doc's considering cutting my med. However, I'm not getting lightheaded, so we're sticking with the current dose for now.9

I have two NSVs.
The first is that I just upgraded my Charge HR to the Fitbit Blaze and I'm in love. The connected GPS feature is fascinating! I love that I want to spend my money on fitness things (ie gymwear!) rather than anything else.
The second is this photo. This dress has plagued me for two years. I bought it and it has remained with tags on since the day it was purchased online as there was no way that sucked was going to zip up! I kept it though as it was an absolute bargain and I was convinced I would fit into it one day. Today is that day!
I'm getting married in just over two months, with my hen party scheduled for 30th July. I've been shopping (in my closet!) and now I have a dress to wear!47 -
This is semi non scale, but its a voctory for sure.
Soooo, I've had this pair of scrub pants that I haven't worn in a while. They "fit", just not properly. There was no way I couldn't comfortably wear them. I put them on after only 5.2 lb gone, and felt good in them. I was like hey, I've lost weight, I've been exercising, and I know I can squat and lift patients easily in these, let's wear them.
After work, I went to mom's and we went on our weekly mommy daughter date. Browsed around the Kmart that is closing in town, looking for deals. At one point I said "do these scrubs fit okay?", and she said no. My heart just broke because I thought I was rocking them lol. She then said "they're a little too baggy if you ask me" so that hard work the last mere 2 weeks has paid off!
I also picked up a 5 lb bag of flour, since 5 lbs doesn't always seem like a lot and reminded myself that THIS used to be on my body, and imagined carrying that flour around all day!23 -
I just ran two miles in 18 minutes in full sun and 85 degrees, making that the hottest conditions I have run in. That is also my fastest 2 mile run in that park. I've been averaging 20 minutes so I ran a full 2 minutes faster than usual. I think I just wanted to get the run done lol28

I set myself a goal of hitting 10,000 steps before I start other activities and duties of the day. I've hit that mark every day this week.23

Yeah, I did that too. I'm 11lbs away from my flattering weight! Lol7 -
RBracken34 wrote: »Biggest NSV so far... After losing almost a hundred pounds this last year... just over the past few weeks, I finally realized that I have met my own standard for health and beauty and stopped striving to meet someone else's. And in doing so, I set a new standard for how I am treated by others. I don't have to endure mistreatment because I finally feel a sense of self-worth that isn't tied to any other person. It's MY accomplishment, MY hard work, MY body, MY choices, and MY life. Not anyone else's. I've found a new sense of independence and self-esteem that is based in taking care of myself and treating myself well and there's simply no turning back from here.
This post literally brought tears to my eyes. Congratulations to you. You look wonderful and your new, healthy, strong attitude shows in your facial expression and posture!10 -
I've noticed that since I began running I've been drinking more water. I was never a big soda drinker, maybe 1-2 a day, but I drank a lot of tea and coffee. Now most of the time I just want water. Also, I've noticed that often given the option, I'll eat something good for me rather than "junk food." Don't get me wrong, I still love my treats, just not in as big proportions as before. Instead of eating an entire donut or pastry when vendors bring them I'll eat literally a bite and be done.13

I was mistaken for one of the trainers at my gym. It's not the first time it has happened...but I am always flattered.21

Last Sunday my daughter and I finished our second 5K for Girls on the Run. Last year, it took me 57 minutes. This year, my goal was (1) to actually run the whole thing and (2) to do it in 40 minutes or less. We crossed the finish line in 36 minutes!! I know it's not really that fast, but I was so proud of us!

I went to a BBQ for my curling team today. I'm still a lot bigger than the other girls but I didn't hate how I looked in the photos.16

I wore camo shorts I have not worn for years. Last time-a couple of weeks ago they just did up. Today they are fine to wear in public.9

1.Comfortable wearing medium shirts.
2. BP is 108/70 (Was hypertensive for last two pregnancies and BP did not readily drop to normal after birth.. It remained borderline for a while... Hadn't checked it since last year and was pleasantly surprised on Friday. )
3.Resting heartrate averaging between 49-51 bpm.
4. The smallest area of my waist is 27 inches.. Down from 36 inches last July.14 -
Went shopping for the first time since I started losing (February) and found out I'm down a dress size!15

Two this week: had an itch on my calf and had to lean over to scratch it and was surprised to find a defined muscle in my calf that wasn't there 4months ago!
Two days ago I was able to sit with my legs pulled in and cut my own toe nails. It's been a looking time since my stomach allowed that to happen!16 -

I am looking forward to this!4 -
I did 26,500 steps yesterday which is equivalent to over 21km...a half marathon!
I was also able to fit into a dress my boyfriend bought for me last year that I could not even zip up 1/4 of the way last year. The dress was soo nice but only available in that one size at the time. I remember doubting myself at the time and thinking that I would never be able to fit into it.
A scale victory: my weight is at the lowest that it's been since I started actively trying to lose weight!22 -
Am loving this thread, thanks so much to everyone for posting. Some days it's the one and only thing that keeps me on track!
Good week this week, and best ever double NSV today. Shop assistant who clearly knows better than me suggested I try a pair of Aussie size 6 jeans. Bingo!
... And I ran at 9km/he today on treadmill without being spat off the back. Yay for the little things xx19 -
I've had a fast food breakfast addiction for almost a year. It was literally an addiction, I would do whatever it took to get a number 6 with cheese an xtra hashbrown AND a breakfast burrito...so basically two meals. I have not had fast food breakfast in over 3 weeks!41

My son is home from college and I bought a package of Oreos for the first time in ages. I haven't even opened it yet and the only times I have even thought about them is to be so impressed with myself that I haven't eaten any. I will probably have a couple eventually, but knowing that I can resist them is really big for me.21

I ran my second 5k today and ran the first mile in under 10 minutes! I've never been able to run a mile in 10 minutes20
