I ate the recommended serving size of cereal... I have NEVER done this. Haven't felt this encouraged about moderation since I ate the recommended serving size of ice cream a few months back!

I started my half marathon training early this year in an effort to increase my speeds and keep motivated at the gym. My first 3 mile run on 1/4/15 was finished in 44:40, with a 14:53 average pace. My 3 mile run last night was finished in 42:05, with a 14:01 average pace. I haven't had a sub 14:30 mile on a treadmill in...ever. I'm awful at indoor running lol.
I've been doing interval runs (run for a couple minutes, speed walk for a couple minutes, rinse, repeat) and yesterday I hit my highest speed on the treadmill. I left the gym feeling fantastic last night. Can't wait to go back tonight for strength training.
  • I walked by a mirror in my apartment and caught a reflection. I thought "Oh wow, she looks great in that shirt" and it took my brain a full 2 seconds to recognize and realize that was me :| I hadn't seen a flat stomach under a blouse in a while!

Did Insanity Cardio Abs workout (the 15 minute one). NSV is that I did it. Usually meeting my steps has been "enough".

My wedding band won't stay on my finger. I still love my husband dearly, so it's not like I want to lose it! But this is the perfect excuse to get it reset, just in time for my 20th wedding anniversary!

Last night I did a ONE MINUTE PLANK! I kept perfect form, but I was shaking at the end. Whew do I feel good!

I'll never have a thigh gap, but today I noticed a waist gap - when my arms are relaxed at my side, there is now space between my arm and my waist. Yay!

Recently went from the "obese" category of BMI to merely "overweight".

Pulled out some jeans I haven't worn in years, to find that they're actually a little large now.

Did an hour of hills (incline intervals) on the treadmill last night, after having been away from the gym for about 2 weeks, and wasn't sweating much, wasn't winded. If it weren't so late at night, I could have done another 30-60 minutes. Guess it's time to increase the level again.

Got a gift certificate for Christmas... to a "women's" clothing catalog. There are some things small enough, though they don't have many tall sizes, and I'm in need of pants.
Also, I'm between sizes. Not sure if I should have the company return her money, or wait & order smaller sizes, or just go ahead & order & shrink into them.

Just completed an hour and fifty minute hike with some major hills. I'm tired but I didn't have to stop. The hike was almost 6 miles, but it's a beautiful day and had views of the ocean, so yeah, pretty happy right now. :)

Started my faster-running training today. Did a 4 minute/km pace, but only for one km, because holy carp that's strenuous. Gonna try to do a May 5K in 20 minutes. Should get me top 3 for my age.

I am so jealous of this NSV right now! It was 2 degF when I woke up this morning to go to work. Rock on with 6 miles!

Students I taught last year (80 pounds ago) didn't recognize me, and starting talking about this other lady who used to teach them. I was like "that was me!" They couldn't believe it!

Decided to go for a run today, and ran 5k for the second time ever. I also did it 1:30 faster than I did it the first time! (~38 min the first time, and ~36:30 today)

Today I stuck to the plan and did not give in to the temptation to mindlessly eat.

Today I did a headstand in yoga class and it was my first time attempting this move. The instructor helped me with both tries, but each time I got better. The first time she held my hips, the second time she only held one of my ankles. Yay!

And last night I did my first pole sit. I also nailed the fireman move back bend combo, which I struggled with last week.

Logging in everything I ate today, even though I had "bad food" for lunch - normally I'd just skip logging or log something else as if it didn't happen. But I'm 100% honest with myself this time. *breathes in*

I visited the shop to buy snacks for my lecture today, for the third time this week. This was also the third time this week I did not buy a fresh-from-the-oven cinnamon bun, even though they smell delicious and they are placed so that you HAVE to walk past them to get to the produce section. Instead, I bought mandarin oranges and a Skyr (an Icelandish high-protein yoghurt thing, it's low-calorie deliciousness).

I bought some new clothes today and they were all 14's and one 12, when I started I was in 20's. I went thru my shorts drawer and they were all huge on me, when I wore these all summer and fall. These last 15lbs have made a huge difference. I bagged most of them up for DAV.

Setting a PR on Bench Press: 315 lbs for two reps. It has been at least since years since I have bench pressed 315...and I could only do it once!

HOLY CRAP that's so impressive! Good job you!

My NSV is that I avoided chocolate all week. I did binge and have some last night, but my binge was only half of what I would have binged on about a month ago. I was hungry when I came home from the gym, and my protein shake didn't fill me up. So I ate that chocolate. Next time I'll have healthier snacks available. But I didn't beat myself up after that binge! Just keep trucking, realize how far you've come, and make better decisions in the future.
