OK ladies (and any gents)...Let's start this. Let's give each other motivation to do what we need to do. I am allowed 1370 calories each day. I want to exercise 3 out of the 7 days to start. What are your goals and what do we need to be accountable for.

I did 33 minutes of Wii this a.m. I played Just Dance for 20 minutes and then did Wii step for 13 minutes. I wore my HRM and burned a total of 254 calories.

I have a goal to walk 2 miles today as well. Maybe this afternoon.:flowerforyou:

Let me just say I love you guys, coming out about everything has been a huge relief for me.:blushing:

I"m going to do my 2 mile WATP at lunch today instead of eating! That will be 30 minutes! More than I have done in a long long time!

I'm so glad that you spoke up! Keeping stuff bottled in just doesn't do anything for you! I'm glad we are all friends and can do this for each other! I love you guys too! ♥♥♥

I also think that this may just be the prodding I needed to get my butt in gear about losing weight. I had gotten so complacent in my thinking that I thought I could just eat anything I wanted to ... but I can't and I really know that! So now ya'll can see what I'm doing and kick my butt when I need it! And encourage me also when I need that!

Hungry Girl Put this in my email....it sounds yummy and it makes 4 servings! I think I may make this up and have it ready so I can bring it to lunch! Thought I'd share it!

Have Your Bake and Ziti Too...

When you find yourself craving a hearty and decadent pasta dish, don't head out to your local Italian eatery -- make this! It's got real pasta and LOADS of flavor, plus it's much lighter than anything you'll pick up at a trattoria.

    Ingredients:
5 oz. (about 1 1/2 cups) uncooked whole-wheat or high-fiber ziti or penne pasta
    1 cup thinly sliced onion
    2 cups chopped brown mushrooms
    1 tbsp. chopped garlic
    2 cups fresh spinach
    3/4 cup low-fat/light ricotta cheese
    2 tbsp. chopped fresh basil
1 1/2 cups canned crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp. shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese, divided
    2 tbsp. reduced-fat Parmesan-style grated topping

    Directions:
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Prepare pasta al dente according to package directions. Drain well, place in a large bowl, and set aside.

Meanwhile, bring an extra-large skillet sprayed with nonstick spray to medium heat on the stove. Add onion and, stirring occasionally, cook until slightly softened, about 3 minutes. Add mushrooms and garlic, and raise temperature to medium high. Continue to cook, stirring often, until mushrooms are soft, about 3 minutes.

Add spinach to the skillet and, stirring often, cook until spinach has wilted and excess moisture has evaporated, about 8 minutes. Remove from heat, and stir in ricotta cheese and basil.

Transfer contents of the skillet to the bowl with the cooked pasta. Add tomatoes and 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese. Toss gently to mix.

Spray an 8" X 8" baking pan with nonstick spray, and carefully fill with contents of the bowl. Evenly top with Parm-style topping and remaining 2 tbsp. mozzarella cheese.

Bake in the oven until entire dish is hot and cheese on top has melted, about 15 minutes. Allow to cool slightly, and then serve and enjoy!

OK, before I get back to work....I checked out everyones diary (Kat, Gina and mine)...we've all gotten a great start today! And Kat has even exercised! We can do this ladies!

What day are we gonna do weigh in?
  • ckmama
    ckmama Posts: 1,668 Member
Any day is good with me. I weigh daily, but my weight fluctuates wildly being pregnant. I think Tues, wed, or Thursday's are good for me.

Just think even if we all just maintain thru Christmas how good we will be doing. Imagine even losing weight. Well not me, but not gaining would be awesome.

I weighed myself this a.m. I was 238.8....I'm not changing my weight on MFP because it adjusts my calories and I want to keep them at 1900.

Starting pregnancy weight was 220 lbs. I will weigh 1 time a week, they say for pregnant women not to do it everyday because of water, so I'll weigh again next Tuesday.

I had a yummy lunch! Went to the store and got some salad fixins and frozen entrees for the rest of the week. I know the entrees can be high in sodium, but they're convenient. Now would someone please rid my office of fun sized candy, please?

I did 30 minutes of the 2 mile WATP...then I went to subway and got a buffalo chicken sandwich 6" on wheat...no cheese! :) I'm feeling pretty proud of myself about right now!!!! Especially since I wasn't prepared to start this today!!!!!

I like to weigh in on Tuesday or Wednesday...so since we started this today...let's just do it on Tuesday!!!

I"m not putting my weight on here! LOL But next week I'll put what I gained or lost!!! :)

I posted this on FB, just wanted to make sure ya'll saw it. I am praying hard. He really liked it and said he thinks he would like it better than Homeschool too. He said he really likes it better than his old school.

We went to the private school and he liked it. The kids were so excited to meet him. they were on the playground and ran up to shake his hand (too funny). He has to take the stanford standardized test for 1st grade tomorrow to see if they will put him in second grade or not. Please pray that he makes it. But I suppose if God wants it to be, it will be

It is 3 in the morning and I am awake.

Yesterday was a success. I ate 160 calories over goal but once I entered half of my exercise calories burned it took care of them. Since I am trying to maintain I am willing to do that.

I met my goal of exercise yesterday, in fact I exceeded it. 55 minutes instead of 30.

1 of 7 for calories and exercise.

Hope you all had a great day. I saw something on regina's food block that brought back memories...oyster crackers. I tried those once when I first started dieting with CK can we say me no likey.

    Hey! Beth is joining us!!!

I did ok yesterday. I ate a lot of milk duds...those stupid litte halloween sized boxes. I logged it...I also had a little debbie raisin creme pie after dinner last night...I gotta cut that stuff out! No more buying those! NO MORE!

But after I entered my exercise for yesterday, which I am proud to say I did!!!!!, I still had like 13 calories left...I went WAY over in Sodium...I'm gonna have to watch my sodium. Chicken thighs apparently are loaded with sodium???? Hmmmmmmm maybe it was just the one I chose on the list?

So I'm not sure I'll get any exercise in today other than when I walk to lunch, but it's not that far, maybe 2 tenths of a mile! LOL That won't count will it?

So someone berate me about eating the halloween candy and tell me how it's not good for me and all that...I need to hear it!

    Thanks!

    Katrina,

I am VERY proud of you for eating right and also for EXERCISING! It is so important that you get in exercise of some kind! I like that you did more than you planned for too! Way to go girl! And even though you are trying to "maintain" I wouldn't be surprised if you even lose a little bit!!!! It won't hurt anything and wow, wouldn't that feel AWESOME!!! ♥♥♥

So Steph, you need to get rid of that sugar right now. Are those things sitting on or in your desk?????

You better get rid of them right now. Sugar is aweful for us, it makes us feel good for all of 2 seconds then we feel like crap and gain weight.

I ate 4 pieces of candy yesterday before I knew what had hit me. I could have had a ham sandwich for the same amount.

I do give you credit for logging it, but get rid of it. NOW

The candy that was on my desk is gone now! I still have the little debbie cakes at home, but I can let my son have them...they will be gone shortly since he is a football player and eats 3 times what I do!

Today I'm eating at our Wellness Wednesday lunch...at least I know that will be healthy, and cooked by our Family and Consumer science students...so not processed! YAY!!! We are having corn chowder, tamales and caramel corn...we'll see how that comes out..the theme is "Don't fear the corn!" LOL

I've had one bottle of water and will have that much again at lunch and then another this afternoon and one for dinner...so my water will be taken care of!

I have 660 calories left after lunch (unless I can change my lunch - they will give us a complete calorie count there)...I have not exercised...may not today...but tomorrow I will for sure!

I only have 400 calories left for Dinner.

My lunch, which was at the hospital cafeteria salad bar and soup blew me out of the water with the amount of sodium.

I will have to have just water for the rest of the day just to flush all of that out of my system.

While I waited for Nicholas to do his testing I went to walmart and bought a gift for a friend that was just diagnosed with cervical cancer last night. So part of the gift was candy and of course I ate a couple of pieces, but candy doesn't really appeal to me since I've been pregnant.

To balance that out, stupid me went to the local cajun meatary and got a link of boudin, well you know at least it wasn't fried boudin and you don't eat the skin, and that was gagging me so I only ate half the link. But it kept my sugar from spiking.

Wow did any of that make sense I felt like I was just rambling. I got my DH to spend time with me last night and i'm not having DH withdrawal's as bad today. I can't help it that I love my husband so much.:blushing:

You can find something good to eat for 400 calories...I have close to 700 left if not a little over 700 and that's without exercising too! My lunch was ok...the corn chowder was really yummy for 104 calories and 2 grams of fat! If you want the recipe I can post it...just let me know.

I have some chocolate nut popcorn to eat after awhile...200 calories so that will leave me with 500 for dinner...I can do that also!

I love Wellness Wednesday...now if I could just get them to have Wellness Everyday's I'll be great!

Now I'm off to get my crown permanently affixed! LOLOL

so lets change that too 120 calories for dinner. I got into the bag of halloween candy. I love those sour air heads.

I'm off to the gym to earn my supper.

I like shrimp and corn soup do you think that is the same as corn chowder? If so, then post it.

I have a great recipe for shrimp & corn soup, we call it chowder.

Katrina, are you sure we're talking about the same thing when we're talking about oyster crackers? The ones I ate were saltines in the shape of oysters, or pentagons sort of. No actually oysters are used, nothing else gross either. haha!

OK, so if someone could just get rid of the Halloween candy around the office, I'd be fine. Once i get started, I CRAVE it. Same with soda. It's my weakness.

Got my exercise in today!! Yay!! I always feel so much better when I exercise, makes me wonder why I don't do it more often?

Yep same thing. I remember trying them and they reminded me of the communion wafers I had when I was a kid.

OMG someone get these snickers fun size out of my face. I've eaten 4 in the last 2 minutes. I will log them it will really put me over for the day. I think 4 of them is like a whole candy bar.

I need to get off this candy before I end up with diabetes.

Oh I did get my exercise today 35 mins on ET and 15 minutes of very light weights at the gym. Slow and easy for this preggo.

OK Ya'll I can tell the halloween candy is a problem for us all. We have to say NO to it! Get it out of sight...out of mind...and Gina, stay away from the soda! If you want flavored drinks, get you some of those kool aid fizzie things...I use one in a bottle of water and it makes the water flavored enough to know there is something in there but not as strong as kool aid! (one fizzie is for 8 oz...I put it in 16 oz of water)...and only 5 calories!

We gotta get control of that sweet monster. It does make you crave more when you have that little piece. I'm glad we are all logging it, no need to do it in secret! Katrina, you made a good point...stop before you get diabetes! You don't want to have to give yourself shots while you are preggo!

Today, lets see if we can go without the candy. I'm going to try my darndest...but it will be easier for me because I don't have any on my desk anymore...and I'M NOT BUYING ANYMORE EITHER!!!!

Now the Little Debbies in my pantry are a whole nother story! I will resist them I WILL!

OK, so I put in all my food from yesterday and I'm over 364 calories...it was those darn Little Debbie cakes. I see the pattern. I see the problem! Yep, I've learned from that!

I did much much better in the sodium area though and my hands are showing me a difference this morning. That's a good thing. I think if I can get my sodium under control I will lose about 5 lbs pretty quickly! My fingers certainly appreciate it, that is for sure!

Harvest Corn Chowder Recipe (Serves 4)

    1 strip bacon, chopped
    1 sweet onion, diced
    1 yukon gold potato, diced
    5 cups water
3 cups frozen corn (or 3 ears, kernels removed)
1/2 tsp. chopped fresh thyme (1/4 tsp. dried)
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp pepper

    DIRECTIONS

Cook bacon in 4qt. saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until crisp, about 3 minutes. Remove bacon with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels, keeping rendered fat in the pan. Add onion to pan and cook until tender, about 7 minutes. Add potato and water, bring to a simmer, and cook until tender, about 15 minutes. Add kernels to saucepan and simmer until corn is tender, about 5 minutes. Transfer 3 cups of soup to blender or food processor and carefully puree. Pour back into saucepan and heat through on low heat, about 2 minutes. Stir in thyme, salt and pepper. Garnish with bacon and serve.
