Thank you! Well, at first I made the pitfall of 1200 calories. Gosh, cause I'm 5'3.5" and a lady, plus MFP made it my default and having no idea about weight loss, 2 lbs a week seemed glamorous at 170 lbs. I did this for maybe 2 months before I discovered the forums. After reading, slowly upped my calories by 100 and sustained 1650 net for the majority of my weight loss. As I neared goal, I upped by 100 or so every week or two until I got to where I am now, currently bulking.
As far as exercise, I did about 5 days a week walking for 30 minutes or as the winter months encroached, my dancing games like DDR and Just Dance, along with 3-4 days a week weightlifting. The cardio got sporadic but my lifting was the one thing I stuck to 100%.
Food choices wise, I practice iifym. I get around 1g per pound of lean body mass in protein, sustained about 250g+ carbs, and 50g+ fats (though a lot of times higher, as I tend to like things with fat). I see foods in terms of nutrient density rather than labels and that ensured I never had to cut out anything or feel deprived.0 -
