    Too. Funny.

By the way, I am a RN and my husband is a paramedic. Not a firefighter, just a paramedic. He hates fire.

I've been in Florida for the past 15ish years of my life, but spent my formative years in WA state.

In any case - I say soda, subs, and I guess fireflies? But i'm not gonna lie, i can't remember the last time i referred to one of those lit up little suckers.

    Grew up in NY/NJ and...
    Drank "soda"
Ate "subs" or "héros" (although hero was more a New York thing)
Caught both "lightning bugs" and "fireflies" in the summer (I would say I used both terms interchangeably and equally)

I say pop, lightning bugs and subs. I am from southern Indiana. However I moved to PA 5 years ago, it was like moving to another country. They have bends, not curves. Straight on ANY road here is NOT possible. yet they will tell you straight that way...and it branches two to three ways.....lol The snow lay's here...back home it sticks.........they have jumbo......at home we have bologna. We have rubber bands....they have gumbands. The first time I heard the local weather person say it was slippy out...I about spit my coffee out....lol They offerd me pie for lunch one day at work.....I declined...thinking it strange that the guy's(fellow firefighters) were going to have Pie for lunch....Pie=apple, peach, cherry. An hour later a pizza delivery truck shows up and delivers a pizza. I said ...Hey...why didnt you guy's say you were ordering a pizza....They replied....we did ....we asked if you wanted pie...:)
I have learned alot since then. Yinz guy's are all good en'at but I say ya'all ain't had pizza til you have pizza at bobes in Indiana :0

    I'm from Texas:

    Neither, I say Coke.

    "Do you want a coke?"
    "Yeah, that would be great."
    "What kind?"

    Subs

Fireflies? I'm not sure on that, we didn't really call them anything.

    Alabama soda, sub, lightning bugs.

I moved here from NJ and the hardest things to get used to: fixing to, buggy (instead of shopping cart), y'all, all y'all, purse (instead of pocketbook), putting it up (instead of putting it away), one of my favorites "where do you stay at?" instead of where do you live. :-) After 7 years, I admit to using "y'all" more and more.

someone mentioned pizza...the first time I ordered a "plain pie" here the girl at the counter told me they didn't serve pie only pizza. Oh yeah duh "a cheese pizza please". I do it all the time and get the "you're not from around here" all the time" . Also if I had a $ for everytime someone made fun of my saying water, talk or coffee I could retire.
