I can’t commit to the high mileage that most of you do as I can only afford one day maybe two at best a week to running but I’m down for committing to a manageable 20 miles. The last few weeks I have started running on Sunday mornings on the beach from my house to a turning point which is further each time. This past Friday since I had it off I ran six miles, so it’s reasonable to think that I can get my 20 this month.
I would run more often but I coach two youth sports four days a week and have Saturday games, sometimes up to four games. Between that and my regular workout routine my body needs the break.
Good luck to everyone on reaching their goals.

HI! I just started using a great app recently (Running for Weight loss) and it's really gotten me into running. I'm going to shoot for 30 miles for July. So far, I'm at 5 miles.

I just started running outside for the first time to prepare for a 5K I plan on doing in a couple weeks. SO MUCH BETTER than the treadmill. My pace is a little bit slower than treadmill, but I'm also trying to figure out out to set my own pace instead of the treadmill doing it automatically for me. I just hope to break 40 minutes for the 5K (yes...I'm really slow).

This is great! Good job! I, too, prefer running outside to the treadmill (although I do like that I can be more controlling of my pace on the treadmill). I also find I'm a bit slower outside than on the treadmill, but that's ok - it will all come with time. Keep it up and best of luck on your 5K - enjoy it for all that it is.
