Had my shopping delivered today, lots of wine, a bottle of vodka and a bottle of jack daniels included No alcohol for me yet though, I'm going to have to put up with it tempting me for a couple more days yet.0

6 days without alcohol.....that's a record the last 5 years! I will go rest of the week without also. Just something clicked.....0

Hello everyone! This looks like a pretty good place for me. I'm a seasoned 29 year old whiskey/bourbon drinker that tends to drink on most days of the week. Generally If there is a bottle in my house....that bottle and I have some business to attend to. This website has helped me a little by making me accountable for the calories I'm consuming. That alone has stopped my excessive weekday drinking by quite a bit. The weekends are a different story though.
Looking forward to contribute as best I can. Cheers!0 -
I almost made it thru last night until 8;00 and the call of the vodka was drowning out the tv so I had a couple on the rocks. oh well.0
-
Last night I drank several Corona Lights, maybe 4. I also ate two slices of pepperoni pizza...0
-
4oz of Woodford Reserve straight for me......it was delicious!0

Hi stampede55 welcome I'm normally terrible if there is a bottle in the house too but I'm doing pretty good resisting at the moment. Only until tomorrow night though and I'm going to start on my alcohol stash :drinker:0

Sunlover's liver is screaming HELP I'M DROWNING!!!!   But I knew this was going to be a bad week. Am having a great visit with my daughter. I'll worry about detoxing next week.
In case I don't make it back on again this week MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS to my fellow lushes!!!:drinker: :drinker: :drinker:0 -
last night was my favorite red wine and then a couple of small glasses of port followed by a brandy. What the f*** is the matter with me. I will chalk it up to the fact that my mother passed away 4 years ago, the day after christmas. I think I am over the grief of losing the best woman on the planet and the anniversary of her passing awakens all of the feelings and I cry over nothing and drink. oh, and DH brings home an eggnog recipe that is all half and half and rum, brandy and whiskey and whole eggs and sugar. tasty, but really? I can't seem to say no. I will need to seriously detox all of January.0

More beer and pizza lastnight. Went with friends to a play, "Santaland Diaries" based on the experience of David Sedaris as a Macy's elf. Funny stuff! Our programs came with buy-one-get-one drinks at Baker's Street so we went there after and had a couple of drinks, you have to buy one to get one, and if you don't get two, it's like giving away money;)0

Aw, I feel like I found my home with this post.
Anyone else have a problem with "alcohol pushers?" I have always been "one of the guys" in my group of friends- my best friends being 6'2 men they just cannot understand that I dont want to involve alcohol in massive quantities in EVERYTHING we do. Don't get me wrong I enjoy drinking, LOL, but I'm trying so hard to keep it from affecting my weight loss and my friends don't help! I'll be drinking a seltzer and someone will buy me a beer, shot, etc. Ugh!0 -
re alcohol pushers.
yes i live in a city where booze is involved in EVERYTHING. even going to the movies. When i announced i was not going to drink for 2 weeks ppl panicked.0 -
Oh yes, bring on the alcohol. The first bottle of bucks fizz disappeared hours ago and I've opened the bottle of JD now. Having trouble resisting the munchies though0

Christmas shopping done......no work until Monday......money in my pocket......the liquor store is calling my name!
I might have to grab a six of Bud select 55 for my beer fix, and a pint of Crown for my buzz fix :happy:0 -
Hello Lushes!
I was doing so well - had completely stopped drinking during the week, only had a few glasses of wine on weekends - then the holidays came around.
The worst part - during the few weeks I cut down on my wine consumption, I GAINED weight. How is it possible to cut out calories and gain?
Anyway - I am at my mother's house for Christmas and seem to be back to my old ways - glass of wine in hand from about 5PM until bed time.0 -
I will be consuming lots of wine today. I hope you all have a good day!0
-
Got all my presents wrapped and relaxing with a glass of wine. Happy Christmas lushes, hope you have a great time with your friends and family. We can get back on track in the new year, for now let's just enjoy :drinker:0

so much wine and champagne last night. It was a great day. I didn't over eat but boy did I drink!0
-
Ok so after my Christmas lunch seconds of Christmas pudding and some wine I've reached my calorie allowance for the day. Don't somehow think I'm going to stop here though!0
-
typical sunday started with champagne and will end with wine. I hope to get it together next week but DH is home all week so that will be hard to do. I hope you are all having wonderful lushy holidays.0

Happy Holidays Lushes!
So I mentioned that I was selected for DD duty since I was the youngest yada yada. Christmas Eve I had 4 vodka tonics and a glass of red wine at dinner and I was okay to drive. Hmmmm, would anyone outside the lush world believe that? Spread out over 5 hours and a big heavy meal of shrimp scampi I felt I was. Christmas Day I had three vodka tonics and a wine and drove to the hotel with no problems. Looking at it in LUSH view, not a big deal but looking at it in REAL world view I think I may have been kidding myself. Okay my tolerance is much more than a casual drinker but does that make my reaction time better, similar or worse? Looking at it in black and white I am a ittle appalled that I drove with 3-4 drinks in me.
Other than THAT we had a great Christmas! On to the new year!0 -

Well, I think I have been drinking everyday since, hmm, I can't remember. I drank Tuesday the 21st, at Amber's, The 22nd I had beer and pizza before the play, Thursday, just drinking at home with friends, Friday all day at in-laws, Saturday night with aunt and uncle, Sunday at the Broncos game, maybe a marg tonight going for Mexican food.
The best part is I was only .5 over goal weight for my Monday weigh-in! I cannot understand how that is possible.0
