Monday=0 drinks
Tonight I'm headed to Canvas and Cocktails with my dinner club--obviously, I'll have a glass of pinot grigio or 2, then we're headed to Houston's for a late dinner. I'm driving, so I'll stick with iced tea.0 -
Hi, lushes
Been incredibly busy here...I didn't drink Saturday, Sunday or Monday...the Earth didn't move; but, we did have one of the top twenty MN blizzards of all time:laugh:
Hubs had a hip revision done on Friday and came home yesterday...son totaled the "kid car"...now, we are down to 2 and I get to deal with all this while he recups...ooy vay...I need a drink:bigsmile:0 -
Wow! These are the buddies I need! This is my biggest issue in my weight loss challenge. We go out often and spend lots of time with friends and it really seems to put a damper on the weight loss. I try sometimes to include the calorie content of wine or a coctail but it still seems I don't lose unless I take time off from it. :drinker:0

Kim, Holly called me in tears twice. she got stuck but at least she was home she just couldn't get into the driveway or garage. she did spin out 3 times on her way home but the gods were smiling and she made it home safely. she has decided that she probably won't be in MN next year. she said she would give it a year but thats it. My little desert rat isn't doing so well. She doesn't mind the snow its just that she wishes she had a truck instead of a Focus and some more tools to deal with it. I am glad you survived.0 -
Kim and Robin, sorry to hear you've been having a stressful time, hope things are looking up for you soon.0

Hey there everyone. Hope everyone's having a good day!
I had 2 glasses of a white house wine at the Canvas and Cocktails last night, and I munched on some brie and tortilla chips and guac from Whole Foods. My little girl is sick, so I ended up cutting the night short and skipping dinner. My goal is 0 drinks tonight.0 -
Monday, tuesday=0 drinks
but that run will come to an end tonight, having a marg and mexican food. They have really good tortilla soup though, so I should be able to afford a marg, can't wait.
To cashw-it's good if you can take a few days break from drinking then you don't drink as much when you do drink, lowers your tolerance, so that is nice for your waistline and your pocketbook! if only I could follow my advice;)0 -
Attended three holiday parties in a row! Avoiding the food and dessert tables is no problem, but can I help it if the guy walking around with the champagne wants to refill my glass????0

Ooh no, it would be down right rude to refuse, enjoy the bubbles0 -
I agree that it would be rude to refuse the champagne. But I also think it is rude to avoid the food and dessert. Someone slaved to put that out, even if iwas just opening a bag of chips and pouring them in a bowl, I mean they could have gotten a paper cut or something so I will do my part to eat the food at any parties I attend.
good thing I don't have any friends or a job right now so I won't be attending any parties.
Had a bottle of pinot grigio last night. oh well I made pumpkin fudge and didn't really eat any so the wine was my reward. :drinker:0 -

It was a Ford Escort that he totaled...Focus is just as bad to drive in snow...she did a good job being from the desert0 -

I concur, you wouldn't want to hurt someone's feelings over it....0 -
On the way home from the parties I always ask my husband what the food was like and of course it always sounds wonderful.........which is why I avoid the food table! I am of the opinion that what you don't see, you can't want. (Funny how that champagne bottle is always in sight, huh?)0

My plan for not drinking last night was curtailed by my husband going on a pissy, depressive rant about our school (we teach in the same building,) the holidays, the state of public education, etc. So, I was drinking to commiserate with him. I only had 2 vodka-SF red bulls (why I drink those on school nights, I'll never know) so the calorie count wasn't major, but still. :ohwell:0
-
red bull before bed? crazy girl! I had a marg and had to help my friend with her marg, she doesn't drink like I do:)
There will be drinking tonight at my husband's office holiday party and tomorrow with my friends. Saturday I drink for free at Front Porch, they have names every day and if it's your name, you drink free, so it seems like I should do that!0 -

How fun. I would love a place like that around here.0 -
I think I drink enough of the Red Bull it doesn't impact my sleeping--as in, I think my body's used to it. I also didn't head to bed until 11 and read for a bit before I went to sleep. 5:45 came verrrrrrrry early today!
I've never been to the Front Porch (I'm in Highlands Ranch and my butt doesn't make it to Lodo very often) but it's my name night this Saturday! I should check it out!0 -
Well of course if it is your name you must go! Otherwise it would be just rude. I mean they went to all that trouble of picking YOUR name.
Looks like my plan for curtailing the dwinks during the holidays has been put in place by sister in law, I get to be the DD driver from the other SIL's house to the hotel. Because heaven knows she is older than me (14 months) and the rule is the youngest drives. Except DH because even though he is younger he is a boy and of course the boys always get to drink. Okay fine, I'll drive but 1. it annoys me no end that I was "selected" and 2. you all know how incredibly boring it is to be the only sober one around a bunch of drunks. :laugh:0 -

Elmer, being the only sober one, be on the look out for those wasckally wabbits.0 -
Oh Robin, you crack me up. Zero drinks all week, hopefully not too many this weekend b/c Tues thru Sat of next week will be a crap shoot. There will be drinking every night I'm afraid. (who am I kidding, I'm not afraid! ) My daughter will be home from Philly for the week and we have something every night planned. I'm just going to enjoy myself and not stress myself out over how much I'm eating and drinking. I can get back on track after she leaves. It TIS the Season after all!:drinker: :drinker:
Have a good weekend lushes, wish me luck fighting the crowds today to finish up my shopping. :sad:0
