MY RESONSE TO -"SO YOU WANT A NICE STOMACH"

I KNOW I SAID THIS AT THE END OF THE ABOVE THREAD BUT IT SHOULD BE REPEATED SO WOMEN WITH CHILDREN DO NOT FEEL BAD ABOUT THEMSELVES OR HAVE UNREAL EXPECTATIONS, AND TO THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE NOT HAD KIDDIES KUDOS TO YOU, I USED TO HAVE RIPPED ABS BEFORE I HAD KIDS ENJOY IT WHILE IT LASTS!! LOL....I don't care how skinny you get, how much weight you lose, or how many sit-ups or training you do, how much self discipline, self will you have, if you have had babies, especially 2-3+ there's no way you will have a ripped stomach EVER AGAIN. Although it can be IMPROVED WITH EXERCISE AND MOSTLY IMPROVED BY SURGURY. There will always be that extra skin from STRETCHING.....but for me I am PROUD AND OF MY STRETCH MARKS those are my BATTLE SCARS and I would not have my BEAUTIFUL SONS WITHOUT THEM :)

Eeeerm OK. I think you are more upset about this than you would have us believe. Just know that yes this is probably different for different people. Maybe you are right or maybe you just got unlucky. But I think the OP of that post has had kids too. Don't know that for sure but I seem to remember her mentioning them. In any case your stretchy skin does not define you as a person. Try not to get too upset about it ok. I mean yeah you say they are battle scars and all. But frankly if they didn't bug you, You would not get this worked up about them.

If it helps I have shelves under my *kitten* that just won't go away. I don't really care too much but hey they're there. Maybe they will go away as I lose more weight. But if they don't /shrug.

There are a number of eye popping success stories of ladies on here with kids who have stomachs I could bounce quarters off of. Including the OP of that thread's.

No I am PROUD of my body especially when I gained 75 lbs with all pregnancys and now I am 113 lbs. I just don't like people giving women that have had babies unreal expectations about their stomachs is all. If I was that upset I would go run out and get PLASTIC SURGURY I certainly have the money too but I have not! And I would like to know HOW many pregnancies the author has had? I have had four. I'm not bashing you author but it is hard to believe that picture is your real stomach if you have had multiple pregnancies, maybe If you have had one, it would be easier to believe. The stand point I am coming from is I have DR's in my family and they have told me it is MEDICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for a womens stomach/the muscles to go back to what they were before pregnancy because they get too stretched and injured. So that is why I made my post, understand? and if that is your real stomach author than I quess I will read your post more carefully so I can tell my Dr's in my family about what you say, did not mean to sound bashing. :)

I'm confused. Didn't you blow up in a thread a couple weeks back about this, then swear off the forums, then come back today and start an apology thread for blowing up, and now you've reignited the exact same thing you blew up about last time?

Huh... I don't have a problem with my stomach or loose skin, and I'm 14 months postpartum. I also ended up with only one teeny, tiny little stretch mark during the last two weeks before I gave birth. Otherwise my stomach is stretch mark-free and almost as flat as it was in college/early 20's pre-baby.

I get what you're trying to say, and that's great (I'm still pissed at the people that mocked the mother trying to sunbathe on the beach in a bikini for the first time in years because of her post-children tummy), but I don't think this post is the way to go about spreading the positive encouragement. Especially when there are many women on here who have proven that it is possible to get a tight, lean stomach again.

Ummmm she never sais anything about rock hard abs or bouncing a coin of the stomach. She said, You want to lose belly fat and have a nice flat toned mid section? Are you telling me it is impossible to have a flat stomach after kids????? Sorry but there are a whole lot of women on here, in body builder comp and even my personal trainer who will SHOW you different.

How much did you gain? My problem could be I gained 75 lb with each pregnancy when the recommended is 35? I think....so I REALLY STRETCHED lol and not to mention I had a 10lb baby! lol.....and then the DR said going up and down all the time killed my metabolism!

Well, this lady has only had three pregnancies. Maybe the 4th one will be the one that ruins those beautiful abs!

I am 43. I have kids. My stomach is improving every month. There are some stretch marks...but I think it qualifies as a nice stomach. And I hope with more reduced body fat to see more results. I don't think anyone expects it to be the same as before.

I was overweight when I got pregnant at 165 lbs, gained 14 lbs during the pregnancy, all in the third trimester. My OB was strict about staying under 25 lbs, so I took her seriously and only gained actual baby weight! I was back to pre-pregnancy weight within a week post-birth. Gaining too quickly will definitely do that to your stomach. :(
